This resort is overall pretty good. The beach is amazing and easily accessible for the Hotel. Food was good but not spectacular. Drinks need upgraded as the beer got old really fast and the juice used for mix was like Tang. Entertainment staff were rather annoying as they all ran around like kids playing all day. Entertaining themselves, not the guests. Friends were married there and there could have been more of a sense of urgency around set up of chairs etc. Wedding happened 40 minutes later t[... read more]han what was planned as a result. Island time is one thing but come on! That aside Roatan is a fantastic destination with so much to offer. I'd reccomend it to anyone.

Media Luna Resort: Wonderful Vacation
While there is a little room for improvement any short comings are out weighed by the incredible location and beautiful property as well as the friendliest staff I have ever encountered! Not a place if looking to party as no alcohol or music after 11pm, but perfect spot for quiet getaway.

Henry Morgan Resort: never again, needs major renovation
Staff at the front desk were not at all friendly. The washroom was an eyesore with mould growing in the shower, didn't appear the washroom had been cleaned from last guest, to be fair when we called front desk a maid was sent right away to clean. The grounds were pretty but some leaks from the sewers as we walked along the boardwalk from rooms to lobby was pretty foul smelling. The common areas were kept clean and tidy.Food was enjoyable with varied menus and excellent and friendly service from th[... read more]e staff in the dining area. The beach was very clean with lots of lounges in the sun and in the shade with visible security, around the pool was a perfect setting with lounges and palm trees to laze under and the pool was very clean. These are a few observations of good and bad but I would not go back there nor would I recommend Henry Morgan to anybody.

Henry Morgan Resort: Would not stay again
Rooms were comfy and maintenance and cleaning staff were readily available and hardworking. The common areas were kept clean and organized. The resort run activities were fun and easy to participate in, if wanted. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. However, the food left a lot to be desired. Not a lot of options and mostly the same food each day, running out of some common items (butter, bacon, cheese) at times. Food is a major part of vacationing so the resort food options were a disap[... read more]pointment. While the resort was nice enough and no major areas of concern, it also didn't leave much of an impression either. Would try a different resort if returning to area.

Media Luna Resort: Very Secluded and private resort
This resort in general is quite passable, it is quiet, but still lots to do. The beach area is beautiful and snorkeling off the beach is great. Rooms are nice and clean. The plus that we enjoyed about having all private cabana's is there is no noise to deal with, like hotel room doors slamming late at night or early in the morning. Or other guests coming in late and making lots of noise in the hallways. They could certainly improve on the lighting in the cabana bathrooms - there is only one [... read more]tiny spotlight light over the sink, which is not great if you want to see anything like hair and make-up. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The staff at the tour desks are also very helpful. We enjoyed the free kayaking right off the beach, the free yoga lessons in the morning were wonderful and the latin dance exercise class was a killer! But oh so much fun! Pool volleyball was also great!
The biggest area of improvement of course, is the food. Although we did not starve, there could be a bit better quality. They could also invest in in-room coffee makers as well. We brought our own, as coffee on our deck in the morning looking over the ocean just couldn't get any better!
Our favorite was the entertainment staff! They could not be beat! For pretty much being amateurs, they were awesome! And so much fun! We felt like we were saying good-bye to family at the end of the week - Christian, Eric, Catherine, Alijandro (I know I didn't spell that right) - and the rest - you were all amazing! And last but not least was our tour guide Hernan - so patient and brought us to the best restaurant for lunch and knew just what we wanted for shopping! and his english is outstanding!
While we had awful issues with Sunwing and I do not foresee me traveling with them again, I must admit that the resort was nice. The grounds (pool, paths, beach) were well kept and you would see them being cleaned throughout the day. The rooms were kept extremely clean.
Unfortunately the food handling was not proper and several people we spoke to were sick with stomach pains and diarrhea.
I would recommend this hotel to a friend using a different company then sunwing and make sure they ar[... read more]e aware of the food situation.

Henry Morgan Resort: OK Resort
The Resort is Rustic, old, needs updating. Having said that, the grounds were beautiful, the rooms and the hotel in general was very clean. The staff were very friendly. Bar closes too early. Entertainment was middle of the road................
The worst part I have to say is the food. I was very disappointed in the food, the same food almost every night, or different versions of the same food.

Henry Morgan Resort: Roatan; Henry Morgan Resort
Roatan Honduras is a great place to visit. The Island has hills and great beaches and reefs. I stayed at the Henry Morgan resort whish is an ok place but getting a little dated. he staff was wonderful and the service was good. It is geared more towards the family set and if you are looking for a party spot this one does not do well in this category.
All in is was just ok but not great.

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: 5 1/2
Having traveled through out the Caribbean, never returning o the same location twice, this time we decided to return to IB for a second consecutive year, because of the excellent standards of this resort. This stay did not disappoint. Room, spacious & clean. Check in/out, easy. Staff from the ones you met everyday, bar, restaurant, maids, management all very engaging, and would do the necessary to address any issues...we had none. Location, on the beach is perfect. Food, very good. Later[... read more] (night)entertainment down the beach, or West End.

Henry Morgan Resort: Great getaway!
We went here as part of a wedding party and had a great time. Thank you to every member of the staff, you all made our trip to Roatan very memorable. We had a great week away from the hustle and bustle of home.
The grounds of the hotel was nice and well located. Staff was friendly. However, 3 out of 4 of us got sick (tourista). We ended up asking around and others at the resort also got sick. There seems to be an issue with either food handling or maybe the water.
Perhaps a Sunwing or maybe the hotel is at fault, but arriving at the hotel, we were not given the room that was expected. When booking, the room that was expected was a condo/villa, but when we arrived, we were given a simple room. The ro[... read more]om was clean, but just not what we expected. We talked to the Sunwing rep at the resort, who then spoke to the hotel staff. They printed an e-mail showing that they communicated the change to someone... possibly Sunwing. Sunwing didn't inform us of the change in advance. Bad communication between the hotel and Sunwing which resulted in being dissapointed. We will be following up with Amanda to place our complaint.
I do not recommend this hotel simply because lots of people got sick. If the hotel changes their food handling practices, maybe I would reconsider recommending the hotel.

Media Luna Resort: Great Vacation
I booked our trip after reading all the reviews so kind of knew what we were getting into. First of all ROATAN, WOW! An absolutely amazing island, such friendly people and YES, the snorkeling was beyond incredible. The ride to Media Luna from the airport is about 40 minutes and it is one 2 lane hwy all across the island so there is no way I would drive there myself, lots of close passing was kind of scary. The road to Media Luna off the main hwy is mostly gravel road with lots of bumps until you[... read more] reach the paved part closer to the resort. The resort and views from it are breathtaking. Staff greeted us and were genuinely excited we were there, you can tell they enjoy their jobs. Cabanas are okay, our toilet leaked the whole time and in the eve the ants came in to sleep on the wall above our tv, but we were fine with that. Bed was comfy for me, not so much for hubby, so it will depend how firm you like it. It was the hammock on the private balcony that won me over, many a beautiful breezy night was spent on that hammock! We had paid to upgrade to an ocean view and the first room they took us to(106) faced the ocean but the hedges blocked any view of any water so if you pay the extra for ocean view, it depends where they put you on whether it is worth it. Once I brought my lack of view to the front desk she quickly showed me another room(132) this was was beside and overlooking the pool but straight out was the beautiful ocean so it was much better, it was also closest to the main building and food area so if you don't like alot of walking(all on cobblestone uneven paths that can be hazardous to ankles) this was a great area and we quickly settled in. We had the luck of the gods on our side or something but the weather was incredible, hot, not too humid and almost always a nice breeze. We woke up early the next day to rain and I was like oh no, but went back to bed for an hour and when I got up you couldn't even tell it had rained! We were there 2 weeks(one week really isn't long enough, once you allow your stomach a day or 2 to accept it's new surroundings, plus all the sightseeing) and the next time it rained was when we were almost at the airport to leave(I will allow it). The rain did delay our flight by 2 hours but since that was the worst that happened to us we couldn't complain. Snorkelling off the main beach is gorgeous, but once you do it off the dive dock, it is hard to go back. The reefs around and out from the dive dock were unbelievable, absolutely spectacular, the ocean life was brilliant and about 500 meters straight out from the dock there was an octopus "garden" where I saw 3 different octopi sleeping under the rocks in different spots. The one guy was there everytime I went but he only really came right out from his cave once. Still amazing! A few lion fish, needle fish, barracuda, and of course all the regular bright fish kept me out snorkeling for hours at a time every day. Make sure you have good waterproof sunscreen and your own snorkel equipment(15$ a day to rent otherwise) I actually bought a tribord mask that was brilliant and allowed me to keep my head down for hours without having to come up and adjust it as my husband did, so I definitely recommend the investment if you do alot of snorkeling. When we weren't snorkeling, we hired Victor Boddens company to do the private tours of the island and Lany our guide took us out all over the island to anything and everything we wanted to see on 3 different days. The Iguana sanctuary surprised me as being the thing I didn't think I wanted but was the best, We adored Victors Monkeys(went back the second day as well) and loved that Lany knew the tricks to help us save money(it really is VERY expensive down there) and avoid the crowds(He knew to take us shopping at the cruise dock on a day there was only one ship, and took us to a less crazy area of West Bay to swim). He knows the island and was invaluable to us. Plus Victors pricing is way better than anything the hotel offers and it was just us so we didn't have to follow a groups schedule, which made it easy to go back when I forgot my hat in one of the shops(whoops). We also had Lany take us to the grocery store because, like most of the reviews said(so we thought we knew what we were getting into) the food at Media Luna is AWFUL! We are pretty easy going but I honestly barely ate at the resort at all. Some of the breakfasts were good but if you slept in you missed it and without writing an essay on the food all you need to know is YUCK! So we grabbed some small food things to have on hand and kept our little fridge stocked the whole time. I don't drink but my husband more than made up for that, unfortunately the beer was not great, they had 3 brands they alternated between and only 2 were drinkable so you crossed your fingers that was what they were serving. Alcoholic drinks are 75% cheap alcohol and 25% filler(no real juices at the resort so orange juice was tang etc). We did buy some inexpensive rum at the store that he was able to mix with cola and actually drink. I also did the dolphin excursion at Anthonys Key(AMAZING, but research this because if you book through a company as I did, they inflate everything but if I had just paid to do it on one of our trips with Lany I probably would have saved ALOT!) We were able to get decent meals while on our excursions and we got a group of 6 of us together to go to Gio's one night(excellent seafood, great view) it was 10$ per person to get a ride there and back in the group instead of the 20$ each. We got take out at Temporary Cal's one day but the view there would have been worth the trip to eat in the restaurant(really out on the balcony so make sure it isn't raining if you go). In conclusion, here are my suggestions for you.
-Go to Roatan(such a beautiful place)
-If you can take something to help your stomach before you get there do it!
-Book excursions through Victor Boddens web site(Lany was awesome)
-Bring or buy groceries to keep you full if you don't want to live on rice beans and other very bland, either over or under cooked food
-Get a good snorkel mask(Tribord was awesome)
-Bring lots of water proof sunscreen
-If you want to bring treats for the local kids, bring marbles! Those were the most popular of all the treats I brought and Lany took us to an area where the kids really appreciated the treats since you are either rich or poor if you live there(no in between)
-Bring your own water bottle to keep filled(the 2 they give you are tiny) and drink lots of water or you dehydrate fast!
-Go for 2 weeks not 1, definitely not enough time.
I will hope for your weather to be as great as ours was and if you see Jake my octopus, say hi for me!

Henry Morgan Resort: great time
This is the second time in two years for us to visit Henry Morgan resort and again we had a great time.We stayed in one of the Villas at the rear of the property. They are newer .The staff are very friendly and eager to please.Roatan seems to be gaining in popularity with the cruise lines, which makes for a very busy beach compared to last year. The owners are putting money into the property as evidenced by the new beach front rooms The snorkelling is fantastic for both novice and experienced. We [... read more]can only imagine what the diving is like This resort is a little tired but very clean with more than adequate facilities.the beach is fantastic and cleaned daily making for a very safe swimming environment for all ages.
