Samba Vallarta: A delightful holiday

This hotel suited my needs to a T! The grounds and public areas are beautiful and tidy, clean and well kept. The rooms are cleaned spotlessly every day. The new manager of food and beverages, Carlos Dias, is a very busy man doing a great job! The food in the buffet and the ala carte restaurants is top notch! The BBQ night on Wednesday was amazing. Rafael Oviedo, the new Concierge, truly aimed to please. He is friendly, professional and very helpful, always aiming to please.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Nice Resort - Borderline boring.

The resort was nice, rooms good, stocked the mini fridge every day, buffets were very good, Clean facilities, lovely staff . There are 3 pools, kiddie adult, youth & adult, then adult only with a fully stocked bar & appitizer kitchen, which was wonderful. The entertainmant was basically NONE EXISTING. They had beach volleyball but needed a resort staffer to call people in to organize it. . There were in 8 days , 6 weddings on the resort beach area ....which left no space for entert [... read more]ainment because the wedding music and entertainment music would have clashed. They prefer you stay on the resort but threre is nothing to do there. We have been there approx 8 times in 20 years and resort/entertainment has been declining. In conclusion, I would recomend this resort if all you wanted to do was, eat ,drink & lay around all day, again boring.

Canto Del Sol: Great Resort in perfect location

This trip was booked thru Trip Central and was a Sunwing Vacation with a West Jet Flight. I was a bit skeptical of this being a 4 star resort from reading some of the reviews, however the price was great and we decided to chance it. It turned out to be much better than expected. Our house keeper was Royo who did a great job. The hotel is really two facilities joined by a pedway. I was in the Mountain zone which is separate from the main building. It is a bit of a walk to the pools and restaurants but very quiet The buffet food was outstanding. Always a seafood dish and other selections as well as great fresh fruit and vegetables. Staff were great, a shout out to Arturo who I got to know over our stay. I had signed up for the Italian, Mexican and Surf and Turf specialty restaurants but opted instead to just do the buffet Location is a 25 minute walk to the start of the Malecon. A 2 minute walk to the convenience store and less than 5 minutes to the bus stop. Bus is 10 pesos and the Centro bus takes 10-15 minutes to get to the heart of the Malecon. Suggestion: I never experienced any lineups for the buffet however I was there before 8 am for breakfast and before 7 pm for supper. Most people go around 7:30 - 8pm for supper and by then there is a short line up. Summary: this was an excellent choice for my last minute vacation. I would not hesitate to go here again in the future.

Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: great place

Nice and clean hotel. good emplacement close to downtown (Malecon). Food was very good and personnel very good and very helpful. Great view from all room. Quiet hotel. i will return if i have a chance. I recommend this hotel.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Best Bangalore for your buck

Although a bit dated the staff makes this resort great!!! Unfortunately in the last 2 years the new ownership has seen fit to repaint the resort with boring beige. The previous bright colors made this place so charming. The food has also become a bit repetitive Overall a friendly family resort reasonably priced. I would give it a 3 star

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: average resort / don't get too excited

The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms size was very nice with an extra dining area and pull out couch. The beds are very hard and need to be updated to softer mattresses. The grounds are well kept and the service was very good all around from the buffet to the al a cartes. The pools were very nice and can get busy with the swim up bar if you are looking for a quick drink. The beach was very nice with a gradual slope and no rocky bottom and the beach and pool chairs were not too hard to find, ge [... read more]t there early to throw your towel on a lounger if you want to spend your day by the adult pool or on the beach. They have very little to offer for entertainment, no big shows, and the sports bar was just the average size for a few couple to watch anything they had on tv. Nowhere really to go and relax and chat after a dinner. the lobby could use a few more lounge chairs as there was next to nothing for seating if you wanted to sit and have a drink by the lobby bar. Trying to get pesos exchanged for smaller denominations was a challenge as they were very limited with small bills. Only a 30 min walk on beach or the pathway across the street to get to Bucerias. Overall i would not give this hotel a 4 or 5 star rating as stated. more like a 3 for what they offer. would only go back if the price was right.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Super friendly Hotel Resort

This hotel is in a great location. The beach is close, walking distance to Bucerias and coffee shops and restaurants if you want to go off the resort. The grounds are really nice. Keep in mind this is an older resort, but kept very clean. Not alot of frills in the rooms, but beds and pillows were comfortable. For the price we paid, I would say we got very good value. You will be dropped off at the edge of a neighborhood. Hopefully your driver will be better than ours. There’s an Oxxo store up the road, as well as a big store - you might want to make a note of it, because your room will only have one warm bottle of water in it, and a lot of the day you won’t be able to find anything to eat. Check in will be nice and relaxed. Maybe excruciatingly slow would be a better way to describe it. Maybe the staff were all training the day we arrived. Without any tr [... read more]ainers present. Before opening the door to your room, close your eyes and picture Motel 6 in the 80s, and get prepared. I think they shipped in the furniture when Motel 6 upgraded in the 90s. Once you enter, be very happy if your light works. The lamps on the nightstands might even work too, if you’re really lucky. Apparently, some of the rooms are even equipped with a floor lamp! You know you’ve hit the jackpot then. Before you look at the shower, lower your expectations. Then lower them a bit more. Did you bring some flip-flops? I’d suggest wearing them in there. Yikes. The shower curtain looks like it’s been there since back when shower curtains were a thing. If you arrive in the afternoon, you’ll be waiting until after 6pm to get anything to eat. Bring food. Once the buffet opens, you and all the birds in the area will enjoy some Saran wrap covered food that you may have to uncover yourself. Underwhelming doesn’t even begin to describe the buffet. Tomorrow, if you want to fight with the wifi at 8am, you might be able to get a reservation at one of the a la carte places. I wish you luck. Otherwise, line up with 50 other people at 7:30am. There are pools. And lounge chairs. If you want one, you’ll have to get up at 6am and go get one. They don’t skim the pools during the day.. ‘nuff said. The beach is nice. The sand is fine. If you like to run on the beach, take a week off. The angle down to the water is pretty steep. On the way back up to the resort, you can try your best to wash your feet at the shower station. One of them almost works! In short, if you pay more than $900/wk per person, Wyndham is seriously tipping you off. A few days in, and I was envying the people heading to the airport to go home.

Villa del Palmar Beach Resort: A perfect vacation

We enjoyed everything. Fantastic staff! Every one a gem. We enjoyed almost every meal. Loved the pools. Checking in and out seemless. Didn’t like the timeshare push but shut that down quickly. Would stay again.

Riu Palace Pacifico: very disappointed.

2nd visit. loved it the 1st time Aug/2024, loved the nice quiet relaxed ambiance. very noisy and rody this time. w food bad everywhere. crab claws at buffet was tasteless and meat was mushy. steakhouse either overcooked all the meat, or it was extemely salty. only saving grace was Jonathan A's singing/piano at nite in the lobby. but it was mostly drowned out by all the loud noise and rowdiness. Tropicana Hotel: Good value

Grounds,pools and beach area excellent. Could upgrade pool recliners. Hotel doesn’t guarantee double beds. You could end up in a King size. Restaurant nothing special. Morning coffee is good. Cleaning service was excellent. Room Price with Airfare a good deal. Included free transportation to and from airport.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Tired and in need of some TLC

We have been to this hotel at least a half dozen times. We come back because everyone is friendly, courteous and do their best to be accommodating. Unfortunately there was no hot water during our entire stay. Food: breakfast fine the rest 6/10. Location great but sure could use some work

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Great Resort

Very impressed with the Canto Del Sol. This is an older resort but is very well maintained. Staff are phenomenal. Food is amazing. This was our 3rd stay here and we can't wait to come back for number 4.

Riu Vallarta: Very nice hotel

Like the layout of the pools and location of restaurants. Hotel foyer and Astoria bar very pleasant. Entertainment crew and staff in general excellent. Been at this resort many times in the past and recommend it .

Flamingo Vallarta: Nice resort

We spent last week at this resort, it is quiet clean and the grounds are lovely. My only complaint is the food is sub standard. Very little choice and what didn't go the night before was re done some how and back the next day. Each day the bar had run out of something, 3 dinners had no white wine, 2 no red wine. I asked for a vodka and soda and he said well you will have to pay extra for the soda which I found odd. The marina and surrounding area is lovely, a great place to walk around. The pool area is lovely I was hoping for some aqua fit but there is nothing like that. We have been to Mexico many times, if this resort could do something about the food we would go back but as it is definitely not.

This resort is very outdated in every aspect. There is no dresser or any type of drawer for clothes, no coffee machine in room, poor wifi all around, food was lacking taste or variety, fridge in room but nothing in it and not stocked, grounds were not kept clean( garbage all over) pools not cleaned nightly to remove debris. Have been to over 12 resorts in the last 9 years with most around same price range and all have had all the things mentioned above that Decameron is lacking

Rooms were awful. Food at the buffet was always cold Coffee bistro was good Pool was filthy and didn't have enough lounge chairs Adult pool was to far away from rooms Check in took forever and no advise on amenities

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Good resort

Grounds are lovely. Pools need tiles and lights replaced, some covers were being held on with zip ties. Rooms are spacious and clean. Water in the shower was tepid at best but hot at the sink. Juan was the best concierge and made our stay wonderful. Food was good. Lots of activities every day. The kids doing activities looked like they were having a blast.

Canto Del Sol: comfortable and safe.

Clean rooms, reasonable food selections, staff attentive, safe with security, beach front, family atmosphere. location is great to walk to various tourist options, evening shows and day events for all ages.
