Nice resort!

Nice resort but needs to be renovated.The stuff is very nice and kind. The rooms are clean. The food selection is very poor. On the hotel website you may see 5 restaurants available but in fact there is only one where the menu is changed and it's difficult to book.

Not bad for the money.

Low season so a bit limited in the food department. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent hot weather in May. Rooms are a bit old but functional. A good place to get away on the cheap and just hang on the beach or at pool. Don't expect a 5 star for the price of a 2.5 star.

June 7th to 14th

The Weather was hot, hot, hot, and the air conditioning in our room worked perfectly! The food was meh, but cappuccinos were perfect! The beach is stunning! There is no reason that we would not return to this resort!

Nice resort!

Iberostar Mojito is offering good value for your $$, good food, clean, it is their staff that makes the difference always smiling and going the extra mile to insure you are having the best holidays! This was our fouth time there and it was great thank you!

Great deal and worth it, 4 full days and 3 nights

Last minute decided to get away. 4 full days with 3 nights. Perfect price! Booked. Then found even better deal but was too late to change it (same hotel) but one extra night what is originally my wish. No single supplement at this time of the year (great to know)! Plane took around 6am and we arrived in Cayo Coco early !!! Had little champagne. At airport bought a beer for $2 or you could buy 2 beers for $5. 15 min bus ride to Mojito. My standard room was ready at 10:30am!!! Fantastic! Building  [... read more]#15, 3rd floor, view over main pool with palm trees and of course the water!!! No balcony, but very big windows. Towels, bathroom, two big beds and plenty of space and free safe and a 1.5 lt bottled water in the fridge (free). All necessities and basics provided. Beach = beautiful. No problem to get a towel, long chair in the shaded area (harder to find, but made it). Water: smooth waves, white clean sand, nice stretch to walk.... and safe. I kept leaving my personal belongs the entire trip and nothing disappeared! Staff was nice and easy going and polite. If I wanted to talk, they were available, they did not bother if I wanted to be alone. The buffet has some variety and there are stations where they prepare/grill things for you like pasta, fish, meats, omelettes etc... Also, there are two restaurants with nice settings that you need to make reservations for. The food was the best so far I had in Cuba. Definitely I did not loose any weight. Drinks were plentiful and all free. I don't like the small plastic cups (not environmentally friendly and blow with the wind). I bought a big mug and tipped 1 Cuban Convertible Peso and always got what I wanted. The entertainment was good, some excellent! Tahiti band rocks at Cigar Lounge! Michael Jackson show was outstanding under the clear sky where you could gaze at the stars and sing along. The front lobby entertainers were also worth coming to listen to and have a drink. Coffee is good at front lobby bar. I would get my two cups and take them to breakfast buffet (no problem). The grounds are well kept and there are many beautiful spots to take pictures. So many different types of sleeping areas. Research what you like: huts on the water in the swamps (nature) or 3 stories buildings scattered around. There is also adults only pool, swim up bar, kids pool and of course the hotel beach. You can walk in each direction. Next resort is Tryp Cayo Coco. That's more of a party place. Melia Cayo Coco is an adult only and truly 5 star if you need great food and a 5 star service. I would say Mojito is truly 3.5 star hotel!! Better then the ones I stayed in Cayo Largo and Varadero. Here, I found mostly couples and families. Not sure who won the competition for the "noisy people" since there were no Americans, kids behaved ok; Cubans and French Canadians were without filters! I could not record much as some people NEVER closed their mouth, I guess they never been to a show or can't handle alcohol, or believe to be reporting "live" and no respect consideration for others. I guess that's what you get for paying low for a nice place. At times you need to put up with other travelers. There is also a Tourist Bus, 5CUCs (round trip) that takes 1 hr 45 min to go all the way to Playa Pilar in Cayo Gillermo. It stops along the way and you can get on/off. It's a double decker with an open top. Totally worth visiting at least once! Another short trips can be taken on a Train 3CUCs goes to few local hotels and the Market. You can take excursions or book from outside. I went bird watching in an 1955 Chevy (?) and horse back riding 1 hr for 10 CUCs. I could count the flies on one hand in 4 days and got only few mosquito bites when went to caves and swamps looking for birds. Check out was at noon. My flight did not leave till 8:20, so was getting picked up at 5pm. Took advantage of another full day. Requested a quest suite to take a 5 min shower and get changed for airport. Sadly, our flight was delayed due to incoming plane and medical issue with one passenger. We did appreciate being explained.

AMAZING RESORt

This was my third time at the resort and I will definitely be going back! Staff are super friendly and there is so much entertainment throughout the entire day! Great resort! I would definitely recommend it!

Good get away

This was my first time to Cuba. The beach was beautiful! It got really crowded though. The hotel wasn't the greatest in my opinion. I found it below average over all. Food was ok, not great either. Room wasn't very clean, bedding was dirty and the grounds need some updating. Its an older resort and it shows, but it gets the job done. Staff were very friendly and great!

Beautiful Beach, Resort was okay...

The hotel grounds were actually very nice and clean, all the gardeners and cleaning staff worked hard. Rooms were old and run down, our toilet didn't work and the room smelled really bad (toxic), a technician attempted to fix it but never did. You only got decent service if you tipped, tipping was expected ALL THE TIME and if you didn't tip once you would not get service the next time. I was at the Grand Caribe a few months back and what a difference, service and staff was excellent despite of t [... read more]ipping, I travelled with my toddler and at the Grand Caribe, a high chair was always brought to us, here I always had to find the high chair myself and bring it to the table, never once did the waiter bring it for me. Food was pretty good for Cuba standards and the beach was absolutely stunning, so if you're mainly going for the beach, this may be the place for you!. Also the Michael Jackson show is incredible, these people belong on a BIG stage somewhere, they are too talented to be performing only at the resorts.

Fantastic time

My husband and I just returned from our 6th visit at the Mojito. As usual, the staff was terrific, always smiling and ready to please. Our room was perfect, as it had been newly decorated. The food and service was just great. We enjoyed the beautiful beach everyday. I would like to mention, one morning we couldn't find a spot in the shade and just as we were to give up, the guys that get the lounge chairs graciously gave us their spot. Thanks again! Amazing beach

Great value close to airport , beach is out of this world. The crew works hard to get everyone involved. Lots to do the bartender at disco is like out of the movie cocktail he should be in Miami makes good tons of cash.

Nice renovated resort

Resort nice but far from the ocean - not for people who like oceanview rooms, beach small, some rocky areas. Food better than other 4 star resorts, all water purified. Only complaint will be long lines in buffet.

Great Value

The Iberostar Mojito is a great family resort! The pools are well kept, the room are tired but quite adequate, the food is fantastic even if you have a picky eater along fir the trip, and the beach is second to none! I have only 2 complaints; 1. public bathrooms NEED an update 2. Some of the lobby bar staff were older and perhaps not great with customer service. This was our second time to the resort and I'm undecided if I would return or try another in Cayo Coco. The biggest bonus about this resort is the 15 min commute to the airport.

Can't wait to go back

I visited a week ago with 3 friends. The beach has soft sand with gentle waves and crystal clear water. The entertainment was a high level, especially the cigar bar band. The food was big on variety and freshness. It was fully booked however the staff were organized, hard working and unfailingly sweet tempered. We had a minor problem in our room which was promptly solved. I would recommend the top floor rooms for the breeze and view. Also, bring your own beach towel !

Solid resort

I would rank the Mojito a solid 3.5. It seems a bit tired overall but the staff were lovely, both pools were nice, the food was excellent - a large variety and they had a great Cuban food section which was wonderful. Nice time!

The grounds were pleasantly green and clean. The cleanliness of the public washrooms on the property was acceptable. The challenge was keeping up with negligent tourists. We stayed in a standard room which was in decent condition, although the decor was dated and the wall lights behind the bed were not working. Generally, the food offered at the buffet restaurant was ample in variety and tasted good, for the most part. We found lunches were best. It would be good if there were 2 cooks there instead of just one. The coffee served in the restaurant was horrible. However, you could get servers to pick up Espresso and other types of coffee at the lounge bar. The pools were very nice. The first couple of days of our stay, the temperature was a little cool, but after that, it was perfect. It was hard to get a spot under the shade by the pool unless you arrived early in the morning and "reserved" chairs by leaving towels or other items on top. It seemed like many people would reserve chairs and not come back for several hours. It would be better if staff could control this to make it fair for everyone. The entertainment staff were wonderful and the nightly entertainment was fun. We had a lovely time and would return to this resort.

Amazing resort

Love it here. Been six times. Food is good. People are GREAT !!!!! If your looking to take kids with you, this is the place. The workers LOVE the kids. Although the rooms are a bit tired they are clean ... We don't spend much time in them so I'm ok with that. Each time we go there are things updated.

Exceeded expectations

Clean, friendly and lots of activities. Good food! Will go back next year. The outings were fun and the staff were helpful, the beach was beautiful. The evening shows were lots of fun and our room was really nuce

Amazing vacation

The people at this resort are so friendly. The shows were a lot of fun. The food was great. I know you don't hear that often in Cuba but the food was really good. The a la carte restaurants were great. We went to the Gormet and Italian. The drinks were fantastic. We brought our kids and they loved it. The pools are really nice and there is pool side service for drinks. The beach is unbelievable. Absolutely gorgeous. I think what sets this hotel above any others is their outstanding service

Friendly Staff & Unsophisticated

Great beach, lotsa activities available, food nicely done. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Any problems were resolved easily and promptly. Cute little market within walking distance. Great for families and those looking for some down time.

Great Resort

The resort was beautiful, always clean! Rooms were clean and up to date! Dining was good at the beach bar and restaurants! Always a good selection of food. Staff was friendly! Overall after reading reviews was a little scared but would definitely travel back!
