Real vacation

Grounds were immaculate. Walkways wide and smoothly surfaced. Acceptable if mobility issues. Alacarts were good. Wine a little better at the alacarts . 2 Buffets with many food options. Not a lot of sea food but enough for me.Over all the food was very good for Cuban food availability. Bars and staff were great and even better if you tipped them. The nice sandy beaches and many sand barges make it an ideal family vacation spot. Rooms were clean. Water and beverage fridge stocked daily. Rooms quiet at night. Beds comfortable. Air conditioned rooms were very refreshing after long days at the many pools and long walks along the torquise waters edge. Felt safe all the time on this girls only trip I went on.

Best Beach

Large resort on one of the best beaches. No problems with the room. Pools are good and grills at both main pools on each end of the resort. Lobby bars are very nice and have excellent drinks. Food was average for Cuba and buffets were air conditioned. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. The only real problem is the travel time from the airport to the resort.

friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful beach, great pools,all around awesome, good selection of food, lots of places to sit to watch entertainment, loved the night music in the courtyard and the form party was fun

Fun And Relaxing Getaway

The resort could use a little fixing up, but overall it was beautiful. All I wanted when I booked my trip was a beautiful beach to relax on, but I received much more than that. There was a great entertainment night life with shows and live music. I was a little worried about the food, yet enjoyed every meal. My favourite part of the trip was visiting the village!

Unforgettable Memories Created at Memories Paraiso

We recently booked a trip through TripCentral.ca for a 7 day stay at the Memories Paraiso Beach Resort in Santa Maria, Cuba. The weather, beach, ocean, weather and resort was absolutely incredible. The resort was clean, and had great access to many pools, food and drink areas and we never had a problem getting a nice place to sit in the shade and lounge and truly unwind during our vacation. On the instance we could not find some lounge chairs, one of staff noticed we were looking, and quickly came to our aid and brought us lounge chairs. The food was great and offered many choices and selections, from great entrées, appetizers and of course desserts. One week was not enough and I would not hesitate to visit this beautiful Caribbean gem. From start to finish, it was like hitting the easy button, from booking our trip through TripCentral.ca, Sunwing and of course the resort and the staff working there. Undoubtedly, Memories Paraiso Beach Resort delivered some of the best memories possible during our vacation!

Very Clean Good food Over the top nice people Good Entertainment every Night Kid friendly Beautiful beach and clean Lots of chairs to be found around the pool and beach Change your pool times.....no way a pool should be closed at all at a place like that....and if you going to close it make it 10 or 11 pm. Great Beach - Okay Resort

First, the beach was one of the best I have been to. Very clean, great swimming, no problems getting a shaded spot and no one coming to try to sell something every 5 minutes. The rooms were average; maid service could be improved; we had to ask for clean sheets and wiped the bath counter ourselves. We had booked the Diamond Club Ocean View. Worth it for the separate section on the beach (the staff did check) and check in, but for any other requests/issues we were always referred to the reception [... read more] desk. Our "ocean view" was leaning at the balcony railing to see a spot of ocean over the treeline. The food was what we were expecting for Cuba; not much of a selection in the buffet and pretty much the same thing each time. Unless you are there early in the morning for breakfast there isn't much available-go for the omelet stations. The a la carte restaurants were pretty good although service was very slow at the Mediterranean one. Overall a good stay but probably would not return.

Nice Resort

Very large hotel. Lots of walking to do. Beach was beautiful. Staff helpful. Rooms clean, and overall, the food was ok. Never had any issues, and enjoyed a wonderful week on a beautiful beach, in the sun!

Amazing Resort Best Vacation ever

We were there from March 24 to 31 2016. First it has the most amazing beach we every been on in the Caribbean. Three large pools. This is a large resort the grounds are unreal very beautiful. The buildings and rooms are starting to show a little wear and tear but are very clean.I know we got fresh towels every second day we always hung ours up to dry so othe resorts wouldn't of changed them. Amois (.?) at the beach bar his service goes beyond anyone we ever seen.The lobby bar staff at both lobbies are excellent. The Paraiso lobby bar is where the action is always happening. The girls and guys do a amazing service. The food is always hot in the buffet there's always something to eat. The grill cooks at the buffet do a amazing job and there's always a line up. We found our waiter Alexander to be the best. At first his demeanor semed he was agressive but no he is a great waiter.He made sure you had water and wine. If you get him as a waiter treat him well because his service is second to anyone. The a la cartes we tried two which weren't very good. The service was great the food was ok. But the little things no linen napkins and stained table coths. These things make dinning a little more appealing in the restaurant. The entertainment staff do a great job. There's always something at the pool,beach,lobbies and music in the evenings. We never made it to the main entertainment at the theater at night by that time we were exhausted. We were in building 33 which is close to everything. But the design of Paraiso side there's no bad location. We walked the beach in the morning usually for hour and thirty one way and never ran out of beach. The beach workers also help you find a spot they would clean off you recliner. They also walk around also taking drink orders on the beach. We tipped but know one epected a tip. We noticed a number of people never tipped and they still got good service. This was ninth or tenth trip to the Caribbean the third to Cuba and this was the best valued trip we ever took. We never let the little things bother us and we return.

Fantastic beach!! Great value holiday.

To start, I will repeat the warnings of others: If you want the Hilton, book it and pay accordingly. This is a value location and you get a lot for your dollar, just not "bling" or gourmet. The beach is phenomenal - it ties with the best beaches I've seen anywhere. (Anguilla & Cuba's Cayo Ensenachos) The pools are a nice option when it is a bit too windy at the beach. (The pool manager will bring around cushions that make it quite comfy.) Lots of shade available at both pool & beach. There was  [... read more]some lounge reserving going on, but in all there was so much room that we never had difficulty finding a spot we liked. Service everywhere on the resort was very good. Quick and pleasant. As usual, tips get a little more attention. We didn't always have coins, and still our service was great. We arrived there the week before March break, so a pretty busy time, and there was seldom a wait for drinks. It got a bit more hectic once the March break folks began to arrive, but still good. Rooms are pretty tired, but very clean. Hot water was plentiful and air conditioning worked great. Lighting was a bit too low to manage makeup. Beds could be improved, but they were clean. Building 53 was very convenient to the pool & beach. Not far from buffets and lobbies, either. Food: Always something to eat, but this is probably their biggest challenge. Buffet dishes were OK, unless you love fish, and then it was fantastic according to my husband. The cook-to-order grills were always busy, but could be worth the wait. A la cartes all had better food than the buffets. My best meal was probably the Mediterranean. The beach grill was OK if you didn't want to get dressed for lunch/snack. There were 2 other grills for lunch. The one by Route 66 bar had birds tramping through the salad and the beef was difficult to chew so we didn't return. We didn't eat at the final grill, as it looked to carry only the same as the beach grill. Entertainment is plentiful and was a real plus in my books. Each night we found live entertainment in the lobbies. There were live bands outside of the theatre, and then the kids show & the standard theatre shows. I didn't see a theatre show, but all the other live entertainment was fantastic. People really enjoyed the rock bands. Diamond Club was worth it for us. It didn't cost that much more, but we had early check in (arrived at noon) and late check out (3pm): Well worth the entire price for us. We also got the premium drinks: there aren't that many to choose from, but if you like the better rums you'll be happy. The special dinner was nice: lobster & chicken with a violinist wandering around. I rank the location as only 3, but that's just because it is isolated and takes 1.5 hours to reach. Go with an open mind knowing that you don't have to spend a fortune.

Great Resort and employees were "awesome"

Well maintained since we were last visited.The employees were very professional and obliging.The grounds were well kept and clean.Great entertainment. Our only disappointment was the fact that we could not get Bacon or deep fried French Fries both of which they served on our previous visit.

Loved the resort and beach.

Lots of grounds to walk and never felt crowded. Pools were nicest I have seen. The market was a great added bonus to get the Cuban expierience Will recommend to my friends. Thank you memories azul will be back

Not a 4.5 star resort

The weather was beautiful and the beach was spectacular. Our travel agent requested a balcony and we were given a main floor unit with no view. Our coffee was broken and after numerous times mentioning that fact, it was never replaced. Our toilet in our room needed to be held down close tova minute to flush and then ran on for a following 5 minutes. Many things around the resort needed fixing or replaced ie broken boards on beach walkway, cracked and broken patio tables. Choice of food was poor  [... read more]with no labels describing items. Very Nice Place to Get away from Winter

We have not done a whole lot of travelling, so it's hard to compare this resort with many others. However, we were very pleased with almost every aspect of our accommodations, meals, friendliness of staff on the resort. Everything was well organized, right from the bus pick up at the airport, check-in, bus pick up and delivery back to airport. It was a very enjoyable vacation which could only have been better if we had chosen to stay for two weeks instead of just one :) The beach was very nice f [... read more]or long, long walks. We only had one day where the water was calm enough to get out on it in kayaks, however that is out of anybody's control.

Absolutely fabulous resort

My wife and I spent one week at Memories Pariso Resort in Cayo Santa Maria Cuba and it was one of the best vacations we have had. Beautiful resort, great food, wonderful people( smile and they will smile) unbelevable beach probably the best one of all the places we have gone. Would go back tomorrow.

Fun Times

Fun week at Memories Paraiso in Cuba. Beach area is outstanding. Loved the laid back atmosphere. More than enough variety of food around the resort. Well kept and clean, although a bit tired looking. Great value for the cost. Friends are going there in 2 weeks, wish we were going with them. Hu Hah!!!

Beautiful Beach

The beach is incredible and a thing of beauty. While we enjoyed our time, the hotel requires some tlc, an example the bed pillows definitely require cleaning, we had requested new pillows and ended up in the same situation. The a la carte restaurants ran out of some entrees and lacked overall ambiance. The servers while very polite need to pay attention to the patriots upon arrival rather than their favourites to make sure everyone is treated fairly and all served on a first come first serve bas [... read more]is, it didn't appear to make a difference whether you tipped or not. Some outside dining area would be fabulous.

Worst food ever

The hotel was average for Cuba but way to expansive for my liking. The food though was disgusting, day after day of the same either not cooked properly or over done. By the way I'm still sick two. Weeks after my return.

Clean and Crowded

Cayo Santa Maria is a beautiful white sand beach with turquoise ocean. From my perspective it is being over developed and despite there being enough chairs on the beach, they were four rows deep at time. Walking to dinner often felt like we were walking down a city street as there were so many people going to the restaurants in the central building. The resort was very clean and was well maintained. Our food expectations were low going in but we were pleasantly surprised especially at the grill  [... read more]restaurants. It is worth waiting in the short lines at the fresh grill. The fish was excellent. Enjoyed both the Remedios and snorkelling day trips. The Sunwing reps on site were very helpful and the guided very attentive.

Great Staff at this resort !

We had a good stay at the Memories Paraiso Azul Beach Resort. The beach is gorgeous, the grounds were well kept and the hotel was clean. We had a problem with the power in our room the first day; however, the staff quickly resolved the issue by moving us to a new room. The food at this hotel was not great; the buffet food was typically cold and lacking much choice and the restaurants did not serve the style of the food they claimed (ie. The Italian did not have Italian food); we did have one goo [... read more]d meal during our stay at the Diamond Club special dinner. I can't say enough about the staff and entertain - they were wonderful!!!
