Nice spot with great food and service

The Good Grounds, food, staff, drinks The Bad Sand fleas (no see ums?), spotty wifi in rooms (great by pool) The Ugly Trying to get a table for 8 - were refused or had to wait up to 2 hours. For a place that advertises no reservations required this is misleading. When we travel as a group we expect to eat together - it's only 8 people come on man.

Great Resort

Thoroughly enjoyed the resort during our 2 week stay. Beach and serve were excellent. We have had slightly better food at Secrets in PV but otherwise was a great resort with very attentive staff and a great spa.

Great area - Great Resort

Stayed for a week just before Christmas. Still going through withdrawals!. If you want a relaxing vacation on a beautuful beach this is the place to go. We were able to go kayaking and sailing the hobie ctas every day as they had enough equipment for all the guests. We spent most days at the quiet side of the beach and never had a problem finding chairs and shade. Ocean could be a bit rough, but was fine if you timed the waves and were carefull. One side of the beach was well protected for a saf [... read more]er swim area. A quieter beach with protected swinn area a short walk. Resort is clean, in great repair, and is well managed. Had great food at all the resturants with the surf and turf at the Oceanna ecxeptionally good. Spent a terrific day on the ocean fishing/snorkling/site seeing with Pilo Vazquez - I will do a seperate revew for that outing.

Amazing area

The area that we stayed in was wonderful cant wait to go back weather was perfect. Only complaint and not a real biggie was the wait staff had trouble taking our order not fully understanding what we asked for most often was the drink orders

Great Resort

Everything was spectacular. I cannot say a bad thing about this resort. Well one thing, second last day of trip we had a major spider problem in our room. Scared the bajeepers out of me!!! I went to front desk and they took care of it immediately. Sprayed twice that day and never saw another spider. Comment to the resort. Spray more often so guests do not have to experience this kind of scare. Very pleased that they took care of it right away. Top notch resort.

A Must Visit

My wife and I just returned from our second stay at the dreams hualtulco. We had another amazing stay. Great food, excellent hospitality and breath taking views. Lots to do in the beautiful little town. I highly recommend a visit.

Wonderful 41 anniversary

Secrets Huatulco was one of our best all round get away. Staff wonderful, food very good, never a problem with service. Entertainment team always trying to get quests involved.Be prepared for extreme heat and bites, swimming in ocean difficult but pools fabulous. This is not an ocean swim destination, hard to walk on sand as it slants toward ocean and is very coarse to walk on, many bites after being at beach.Huatulco is always hot and humid we have been in different months with no releif. we wo [... read more]uld go back for the right price because the staff are fantastic.!

Wonderful Resort

Had an amazing Honeymoon at this resort! The food was the best I've ever had in Mexico and neither of us got sick. The sand was really hard to walk on so spent more time than I'd prefer at pool but the view was gorgeous. Great staff and a beautiful property.

Secrets not so much anymore....

We stayed as a couple. We cannot complain about anything, Very romantic,loved all aspects of the resort from the room to the restaurants, Beach was awesome!! 97-99 degrees every day with 1 cloud and rain for an hour. Beach front service was incredible and everyone from staff to servers were very friendly and accommodating. Very nice pool staff, rude management.

I booked a two week stay oceanfront, didn't get it! They made a mistake with my room booking and the hotel told me it was my agents fault. They informed me there is only ocean view at the resort. I booked two beds got one. The lady was rude and told me just go to my room. They changed my room number twice before I even got my room key. I found the management staff unorganized and rude. I found the staff that did all the labour wonderful. The spa was great. Many restaurants to choose from, good f [... read more]ood too. Now pool chair hard to find and if you get one you won the lottery. Staff would look for 30 minutes and sometimes no luck. That was upsetting, on vacation in the heat but no lounge chair to lounge in. The weather was great. I even filled out a review to the resort and never got a reply to my concerns. I guess staying at a resort for two weeks doesn't rank a response. It has put secret's resorts off my list of go to resorts.

Amazing Resort

We traveled February 2014 with another couple, This is one of the nicest resorts they cannot do enough for you. Rooms, food, service all are excellent. We cannot wait to enjoy this hidden treasure again!

Tranquil and Beautiful Adult Only Resort

The Secrets property in Huatulco is absolutely gorgeous! Our stay was wonderful - pleasant, accommodating staff, good food, room service and an absolutely beautiful location. The resort is a little remote, but was perfect for a nice relaxing week away.

Good, But Not As Good As Other Secrets

My wife and I stayed at Secrets Huatulco in late January 2014, but I'm just writing a review now. On the plus side, the food was good, the beach was lovely and the resort was clean. The service was not up to what he enjoyed at the same chain's destinations in Puerto Vallarta and Montego Bay. It may be because the resort and tourist area are still relatively new, but everything was pretty haphazard. There can be a lot of walking in this resort, important for those who have leg issues. Although th [... read more]e food was good, there were lots of mix-ups in the restaurants. It can be a challenge finding an unoccupied pool chair sometimes, as people leave towels draped over them and disappear for hours or forever. A note about the climate in January - it's the dry season in Huatulco, so even though the resort is lush and well-kept, the foliage everywhere else is brown and unappealing. We enjoyed our stay, but wouldn't go back and would pick another Secrets instead.

Fantastic on all fronts and wonderful location.

Best resort I have been to. Staff were great. Restaurants were varied and some had fantastic views. Nice beach. Would definitely return. Bars were also very convenient. Entertainment was the only thing thgat was not of high quality.
