Super Resort

Staff was great! Plenty of food. Rooms, grounds and pool is very clean. Felt very safe and comfortable. Very nice New Years Party... great entertainment. Absolutely nothing to complain about and I would recommend this resort to family and friends. I would definitely go back.

Great Resort !

The staff were very eager to please . They provided a top class service and accommodated us with extras for a pleasant stay , special thanks to Geanny for his attention and gratitude! We did not get the room we were supposed to get ( Junior Suite ) but the staff did so much for us , we did not bother asking for the change , we kept the standard room . We will return for sure !

Love it!!

This was my 6th time to this beautiful resort. Even after the hurricane, the staff are still amazing and spirits are high! They have worked so hard to get the resort back in shape to receive guests, and should be back in full use in the next week or so. The gardeners are busy planting to replace the lost vegetation. Food is good, can always find something to eat! The people and their joy makes this the place I want to return to again and again!

Another amazing family Vacation.

We were at Pestana august 31st to September 8. First i would like the cuban friends to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. We had another amazing vacation as this was our second time there. Check in went by very fast and smooth. We were welcome with a nice cold coctail. Everyone had a coctail not just the priority club. We got the hotel room in the building that we request. A little disapointed that we did not have connecting rooms but that was not a big of deal. The room was clea [... read more]n and welcoming as we are returning guest we got a bottle of rum in both rooms and a welcoming letter. That was a nice touch. Thank you to the manager for that. The weather was amazing hot and sunny only one night that it rained. There is a lot of changes at Pestana since we went there last time. All possitive changes. The beach is larger and no more little coral in the water so no need for water shoes. They have added more palapas so more space for all.The towel service was great. Clean towel everyday. The food was never a desapointment. We can always find something to eat. We went to the Cuban restaurant. Had an amazing supper thank you to Jamila for the amazing and memorable time. I sure recommend the Cuban. We also went to the portugees we had a nice Tuna steaks was well prepared just the right way. My 11 months old fell in love with Diamond a server. Thanks Diamond for the help with Emma and the great service and smile.The chocolate dessert is a must try. In the buffet the food was fresh and always the right temperature. No complaine there my two kids can also find something to eat. And yes there is a microwave in the buffet was great to heat the baby food. Thanks for that. My son love the pizza a must try. As for the 24h snack bar great improvement always something to eat. Thank you Derik for the great service the kids will remember you always. You and your wife are part of our family. The show...well the evening show its regular. Needs more improvement and i found that the girls needs more english lesson can bearly understand what they are saying. We had a nice dinner the last day for the returning guest was really nice but i was hoping to see the manager. The rooms in Pestana does needs a lot of updates and there is a small fridge in the room thats a plus. We will recommend Pestana to anyone and we are looking forward to go back. As for Sunwing well thats another story. We did have unpleasant time with sunwing and hopefuly they will improve their services.

Best food I've had in Cuba

I went to Pestana with my husband, 1 year old, and my senior parents. Everything is so incredibly conveniently located and no more than a 2 minute walk between our room, the beach, the pool, and any of the other facilities. Although I didn't use it, this resort offers childcare from 0 - 3 yrs, which I haven't seen before. Room: Spacious and cozy enough. I love that we had a crib for baby :) The shower heads sprayed horribly, but I've never had a shower head that was good in Cuba lol. We had  [... read more]a coffee maker but I think it was because we had a baby and needed to heat milk for her. My parents did not have one, so if you want one, be sure to ask. Restaurant: OH MY GOODNESS GREAT! The food was delicious! I've never had Cod fish in Cuba! There was nothing we didn't like it was so great! We tried the Portuguese restaurant - best ever! and the Italian restaurant - the rice was not cooked properly although it was supposed to be risotto, but my husbands pasta was amazing :) Pool and Beach: Beautiful. There isn't a lot of shaded area by the pool, but there's enough to get you by. Everything is very clean despite all the tourists that leave garbage around. There are people cleaning CONSTANTLY! When leaving a tip, don't forget the cleaning staff - they deserve to know their work is appreciated! Bars and Service: I have no complaints. I honestly believe that humans are humans no matter where you're from. If you treat the staff with respect and appreciation then they will go out of their way to make your stay amazing. This is our experience. Everyone was so great :) I definitely recommend this resort. It's smaller and pretty quiet so perfect for young children and those who want to escape.

Great!

The resort is small and clean. Very nice staff, clean rooms and great service. The pool area is not very big so make sure that you wake up early and book a seat around the pool for yourself. Good restaurant and clean beach.

Great Resort

This is a great little resort. Grounds are well kept and maintained. The beach was amazing best I've seen so far. Great pool area and bar. Resort is 220 volt bring a converter. No mini bar in rooms but there is a 24 hour bar for drinks and food. Was told food in Cuba was very blah not the case at this resort always a good variety of tasty things to eat.

Nice resort

Nice resort, clean, good food, beautiful beach. Entertainment wasn't great, just average. Overall a great resort the only issue we had was lack of activities, have been to other resorts tht had much more to do.

Beautiful Beach with Tons of Palm Trees!

The beach connected to Pestana was absolutely breath taking. The water was clear blue and sometimes even had fish in it swimming around you! There was so much space around the beach that it was never trouble finding a good spot with shade. There were also so many palm trees around the resort and pool area that gave a lot of shade around. The resort was a little smaller so it was nice as we didn't have to walk much around the resort. The lobby area wasn't as nice, there was never anywhere to sit. It was a little smaller so if you don't like smokers, it's not the right place to hangout at night. Entertainment at night was mediocre. Overall, not a bad resort.

Relaxing and gorgeous beach

Just came back from Pestana Cayo Coco and had a relaxing enjoyable time. Beach is gorgeous, nicely maintained by their courteous beach crew. Beach bar staff was outgoing and far the friendliest staff at the resort. Food in al la carte restaurants was good, staff friendly and their little band played great music. Would have liked to had more than 3. Buffet breakfast was excellent but lunch and dinner were average and the same day to day. Need to mix it up or add theme nights? Entertainment staff  [... read more]was friendly, cheerful and always smiling. Our room was outdated but kept clean by the maids with creative towel art left on our beds each day. Need to have more activities! Went to play tennis+basketball and no one could find the balls??

Family vacation with the kids

Where to start....? Well, we figured out instead of giving us new towels, they'd just refold the dirty ones... how gross is that? Some days they wouldn't change your bed sheets.. or when you have a do not disturb sign on the door, they just walk in and BAM! One saw me naked. The gardens around the grounds were okay. Seems like a lot of bushes and plants haven't been planted yet. Fountains in disrepair, they were never working and most areas could use a really good clean or fresh coat of paint.  [... read more]Food was ok but nothing spectacular. Seemed like every day the food was the same...Pools and beach were amazing, the kids enjoyed them. Mosquitoes were horrible on some evenings. Currency exchange bank never worked and wifi was horrible and was often not working and some how in Cuba, the peso is worth more than the Canadian and American dollar... do yourself a favour and just go to Mexico. Definitely won't be going back.

Pestana

I liked the Pestana. Good overall value for a family vacation. The beach is amazing. Wide and long, with volleyball and other activities during the day. The pools are nice, clean and big. There are two children pools that are good for the little ones - very shallow and off to the side. The rooms are dated, and need some TLC. But , are clean and the bathrooms work. The general dining area is a busy place, but the staff seem to keep up with th [... read more]e rush, and generally good service considering the volume that goes thru. Great entertainment every evening. Both with the evening show and the lobby activities. A happy atmosphere. Hotel could use some upgrades to keep it from slipping from 4 star to 3 star. But, was a good value for the money for now. We enjoyed it.

Great family place

We enjoyed this vacation to Pestana, Cayo Coco. The grounds were ok. Most areas were well kept, but there were a few areas with rubbish / construction supplies piled up. The public areas were cleaned routinely, and staff were diligent to stay on top of anything that may come up... i.e. one evening we had quite a bit of rainfall that spilled over into part of the lobby and they were quick to clean up the area to avoid slips/ falls. Cleanly kept by staff, but nothing exceptional. The showers functioned well and we were never short of water. The Dining area was great. Food was fresh, and varied. Staff were eager to help you if you were ever in need/ want of a food that wasn't there. The pool area was great. There is a large adult pool as well as two kiddy pools off to the side. This was great for the little ones, and again clean and organized. Sometimes a challenge to get lounge chairs though if not there early enough. The beach was amazing. Period:)

Pestana Cayo Coco

Pestana is a great resort to visit. The ground and builds are very well kept. Food was excellent and the drinks never stop. 24hr bar and snack bar, are a great option. Beach is beautiful and there are no lack of chairs. Only down fall is the poolside is always reserved early by people( more chair would be great, or no reserving). All in all it was a great trip with great weather. Our travel agent picked us a great place to stay. 5*

Would not tecommend

Room smelled stain on bed spread .food cold not a good selection. When asking for a ride never show up drinks were terrible ask for orange juice in a drink got fruit punch just an example. Asked for extra pillows didn't get them etc

Busy & noisy...

Great beach. Good food. Best pizza but a long wait for it. Good pork on a pita by the pool. Hard to find a spot anywhere on the beach, or by the pool, or in the hotel that wasn't loud and noisy with music, or games or the entertainment people on the microphone. Busy so many times a line up for drinks or food.

Excellent pizza - a long wait, but worth it! Excellent pork on a pita by the pool. A busy hotel so times with line-ups.

Excellent !!!!

I have to admit we were a little worried about the Pestana in Cayo Coco. The Reviews we not good, which made me really confused. The resort is amazing! It wasn't too big, everything close by. Rooms were very clean and cleaned everyday. We had plenty of beach towels and bath towels not a problem at all. Food was very tasty, hats off to the cooks!!!! My favourite thing about this resort is seeing that the "owners" themselves were constantly walking around and mingling with people. Entertainment was awesome!!! Amazinggg!

Good resort, good food, good hotel, good service, respectful people . Couldn't be better! Would recommend this everyone. Beach is clean, and many things to do there. Good experience & very relaxing .
