Great Resort

Very clean, well kept, pleasant staff and food. Beach needs some work as hard to enter with so many rocks. Manageable size as you can make it from the furthest building to the beach in 5 minutes. Great a la carte restaurants. The buffet breakfast got a bit tiresome but there were options...

Great looking on the outside rotton on the inside

Despite the modern decor and outstanding American interior design, the service was lacking for the $1800 dollar price tag. The cab company the hotel endorses never seems to have change for a 20 and the fares are never the same. The rooms terrible air filtration caused aggressive coughing amongst 60% of our 13 person group. I wouldn't visit again.

Fun in the sun

grounds are beautiful. very clean. beaches are not Cancun so get a swim out suite. This is my second stay here and I am a little disappointed in the food. Absolutely flavorless.fresh but no taste. The food was amazing before and a big part of why I returned.

Great Resort but very Europe Artzy

Hotel was fantastic. Different in the sence of new Art decorated rooms but everything was great. Beach was great but not a lot of swimming area but very warm water. food very good except steak house myself and others all complained it was not a great meal. The Japannese hibachi was one of the greatest shows and audience participation ive had at the dinner. They brought in a great fire show and the breakdancing team from mexico was one of the greatest teams ive ever seen. Only complaint was [... read more] the free trip to Playa Del Carman by Nexustours which was very misleading and we all thought we were being robbed or something. The one tour guide from Nexustours on that day were very misleading.

Great Trip!

The resort itself is beautiful. Absolutely stunning. It's very clean and all of the employees are professional and polite. Our room was spacious and luxurious. Food was great, although more lunch options by the beach would be nice. The pools were great, but the main pool was loud and at times, did get inappropriate. The hotel is very chic so I was surprised by some of the behaviour that was allowed by the guests. All in all, we enjoyed our stay!

Very luxurious resort

We enjoyed our stay at this resort very much. It felt very luxurious. It was very clean. The food was excellent. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint would be the distance we had to walk to the beach and the condition/cleanliness of the beach/shore. It was a great trip.

Outstanding resort!

We loved the resort from an architectural view; it was so new, a Spanish design in a contemporary way, and this resort was well thought out. Our individual room was gorgeous and each restaurant was a quite unusual surprise each night. The pool was spotless and the walk to the beach was a delight. Our choice to visit 2 Mexican locations was adventurous and learning. May we ask for different varied food perhaps some turkey and beef. Platinum Yucatan Princess was professional and personal; professional each day, and personal when we needed a item or service individual to that day. Beautiful clean resort

Excellent quality food friendly staff and clean well kept resort. Grounds were beautiful. Activities were fun and a good variety. The animation team kept people involved. Overall a great resort. Would recommend it

Great Stay at the Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites Resort.

We had great stay at the Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites Resort. Beautiful resort. We had a platinum swim up room. We faced southeast (Room #:5029). We had emailed the concierge at the hotel about a month before requesting a room in that area and they came through. The room had sun throughout the day and was on the quieter side of the platinum area. But still had great drink service from Maria!!! Imagine getting drinks from your private swim up area. The only knock on it was that there was a light on the balcony outside from 18:00 to 06:00 that you could not turn off and my curtains didn't completely close, so that light was beaming in the whole week. The pools were good. The only issue i had was that the platinum pools was actually a series of pools with a divider every 150 feet or so. So you couldn't swim from our room to the bar or other areas of the pool without getting out. Not a big deal. The beach area on the other hand, was subpar. The sitting area was fine with lots of loungers and umbrellas, but the water and the beach close to the water was full of seaweed and rocks. You had to walk down past the Sunset Princess to get a decent swimming area. Overall the service was superb. The spa was great (a little overpriced though). The food was great. One of the better buffets I have eaten at. If you want a quiet vacation, I suggest the Platinum Side. The regular side is great if you want to whip it up a bit (Foam Party). And you always have access to the sister hotels next door.

Incredible Vacation!!

We honestly could not have chosen a more wonderful resort for our vacation. We are both travelers and have stayed and other resorts, but nothing compared to what awaited us that this hotel! The first thing I would say is that a swim out room is a must at this property.. we upgraded our trip a few weeks after we booked and were so thankful that we had the pool right outside our room. The food, which I had read mixed reviews on before travelling was beyond amazing... and with the unlimited a-la-cart dining, there were many options to pick from. Our favorite was the Rodeo Grill which had the best appetizers and a great house wine. The Italian option was also wonderful and if you get Miguel for your waiter, you are certainly in for a treat. TAO was fantastic and the chef was extremely entertaining during our meal. Humberto, the bartender at the main pool made the best drinks on the resort and Katy was always attentive to make sure we had cold drinks. The room service was included with the package and was quick and great when we needed a snack. Overall, the staff were wonderful, friendly and went out of their way to make you feel pampered. The hotel's nightly entertainments were fantastic and should not be missed! The property is beyond clean and nothing ever looks out of place or un-kept. Not only would we recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a vacation in Mexico, but we cannot wait to return.

Beautiful Resort. Service not the best.

The hotel itself was very nice. The grounds very well kept. The food wasn't outstanding but it was what we have come to expect at a Mexican resort. The buffet selection was better than some but as with other resorts it gets a bit tired after awhile. Some of the service by staff was below par. There were some staff that gave great service but the ones that didn't provide that are the ones you seem to remember most.

Re: Platinum Yucatan Princess is a fantastic resort!

My husband and I spent an amazing 9 days at Platinum Yucatan Princess, an adults' only resort. First time we've ever gone to a resort longer than 7 days and 9 days was perfect as two days are spent travelling. The staff were so friendly and always so helpful. We were pleased this resort was smaller (less rooms) than other resorts we've stayed at previously. We opted for a "swim-up" room (building 2) facing the garden area which we thoroughly enjoyed. A small pond was across from our room and being animal lovers, we enjoyed checking out the wildlife including a solitary turtle and many iguanas and beautiful birds! The buffet had a wide variety of great foods and theme nights. The entertainment both pool side and in the evenings was really good. Especially enjoyed the flame throwers' show, but the drummers were the best we've ever heard. Could definitely have been a Vegas hit show! The a la carte restaurants were excellent and we enjoyed the Rodeo Grill (excellent rib eye steaks), the Tao (Japanese) and Bruschetta (Italian). And what a plus, we didn't even have to reserve....we walked right in except for the Tao which we waited about half an hour for. Pretty great. The pools were wonderful and very clean. The only negative was the rocky beach and even though we brought water shoes, the red flag was up and it was too wavy for us to venture in the ocean. But, we walked the beach (only at 10 minute walk) and one can use the sister resort's beach which is sandy, but it is obviously more crowded. There are many excursions one can do, but we opted to stay and enjoy the activities at the resort as we've enjoyed excursions before. All in all, we would highly recommend this resort and hope to travel to the Platinum Yucatan Princess again in the near future! Our thanks to Marlena Bielak of Trip Central and to Sun Wing staff. Great resort

This was our first time at the Yucatan Platinum and we enjoyed our stay. It started with a quick and easy reception and the room was fresh and clean. The food was great and the service was five star. The beach is not ideal for swimming but if catching some sun is your thing there are plenty of chairs and having the bar and food right there is very convenient.

Amazing Resort

When arriving at the Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites Resorts at 2:00 a.m. due to a 2 hour airplane delay, we were received by the night manager and were given a briefing on the use of the resort and then given our keys to our room. The room was exactly as it is shown on the internet, clean and beautiful along with a bottle of champagne. Our room was in the 5000 block which is very central to all the restaurants, swim up bar and pool, beach, night entertainment and reception area. We did [... read more]n't require reservations to the specialty restaurants but there was a little wait time when we went for dinner. The food in the restaurants were all very good along with the buffet. The beach is very narrow and rocky in places so water shoes are recommended and we found the pool very cold. Over all this was one of the best resorts we have been to, I would recommend the resort to everyone.

Amazing food, saddened by the beach

The decor is very cool. Grounds are immaculate. The food was simply amazing. The service staff are very sweet, graceful and thoughtful. The bartender in the main bar is a genius, as.is the grill chef at the buffet. The pools and pool-fun staff rock. The beach however, doesn't come into the same ballpark. If the beach is important to you, this part will be extremely disappointing. I've been on many beaches and granted, I have a sensitive nose, but I couldn't tolerate the smell of raw s [... read more]ewage constantly at the beach. I have never had that experience at a beach, in this area or any other.. I could not spend any time there for being nauseated by the harsh smell... on several days.. at several different times.. just to be sure I wasn't imagining. .. I wasn't. I really love the beach and the ocean and was really saddened and conserned about what is happening with this part.. what is being done to the waters here ?

Ask for Anna for service at the swim up suite

We stayed from Nov 11th to 18th/ 16 and were in a swim up room, beautiful and the rooms were huge. Our check in was great, rooms were not quite ready but we flew in early. we were met with big smiles and nothing was beyond our needs. We were in room # 4003 which was pretty central. The only draw back with this room is that it is close to the swim up/ main pool and it is very noisy in the afternoon, so no siesta for us. Also the other side of the room where we entered was noisy when you were tryi [... read more]ng to sleep as it backs onto the driveway/parking lot and there seemed to be a lot of noise at night while you are trying to sleep. 24/7 bar is great as we are early risers heading to the beach to watch the sun rise and like to grab a coffee or drink on the way. Deisy at that bar starts at 7 am and was always ready with a smile. We had a waitress also at our swim up suite, Anna was amazing she always anticipated your needs I swear she must of put on 30 miles a day. She is also has been taking different languages to make it easier for her to relate to everyone. The other girls were great but Anna was the best...kudos to her. Buffet was really good with similarities everyday but also variations to keep it interesting. Make sure you go to the Yucatan Buffet on Thursday night for the seafood amazing. A bit of a disappointment with the al a cartes, portions were really small. so don't go hungry. Shops are very expensive at the resort but you can take a shuttle to 5th Ave to buy it's a lot cheaper. If you are getting a swim up suite bring an inflatable with you, it makes it great for lounging in the water. The beach area is small and there is lots of loungers, but to go swimming because of the rocks if you walk down to the sister resort you can get in.

Amazing Resort!

We were here on our honeymoon. Beautiful resort. Clean and the food was terrific! The staff were all amazing and we loved our room, the pool and the beach. We had a different towel animal our bed everyday. Lots of options for meals. Love the flaming coffee table! Such a gorgeous peaceful place. I loved it wasn't a big singles pick up place for most of the week we were there. Towards the end of the week it seemed a bit more rowdy and busier but still more of a couples type resort over a  [... read more]singles hangout which was perfect for us. Definitely will be back.

Excellent service and very nice resort

The resort itself is beautiful and very well maintained. We stayed in building 5 which was awesome and also nice and quiet! please be aware that the main pool is very loud and busy so staying near it is not as quiet!

Awesome time!

Check in was a breeze. Room was clean and well furnished. Swim out room Is a must. Food was excellent and staff was friendly and attentive. Ala Cartes were all very good and enjoyable. The only downside was the beach area was a bit of a let down.

Peaceful and Relaxing Resort

This hotel is very modern and beautiful...had a swim out suite and it was well worth it the extra money. The restaurants are very good. I really enjoyed the Italian restaurant Bruchetta the best. Server Miguel was very sweet and had a nice smile and service was superb.
