Fantastic resort!!!

Beautiful views, friendly staff, fantastic splash and slide area for kids, rooms were well kept and stocked, service was amazing! Excursions and the activities on the resort were great!! We'll definitely be going back:)

Amazing resort!

Staff take care of your every need. The food was excellent. Ate most of my meals at the buffet because of choice and quality. The resort well maintained. My only issue was at check in. Should have a separate line for people that have done the initial check in but are just waiting for their room to be ready.

Stunning New Resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and possibly not leaving the resort then this all inclusive is for you. The hotel has been opened just a year and is truly amazing. The food was very good to excellent and we were always able to find everything we desired. The surroundings were spectacular, very pleasing to the eye. The beach has some seaweed but nothing that was not manageable. We were able to get in and enjoy the water. The resort is the lone wolf at the moment , in the middle of nowhere. If you are wanting more liveliness around the area then consider going somewhere else. This hotel is in the middle of the mangroves and does not have a resort on either side of you. Give it five years and this will probably all change. If you are content with the peace then book it ASAP. Cancun and Playa Del Carmen are both a 15-20 minute taxi ride away in either direction. Be cautious about the staff trying to sell you a TravelSmart plan. We took the tour to get the freebee's and almost bought into the program. They make it sound enticing but make sure you read the fine print or ensure you have all the details and fully understand what you are buying. Very expensive and we kept getting mixed information from different people. In the end we wasted about 5 hours of our first day sitting inside with aggressive sales people all around you. Not worth the time and effort or the free bottle of Tequila. Overall this resort was one of the best that I have been to and would certainly go again. I was not ready to come home after one week.

Very nice resort, even in the cheap seats

This is two resorts one one property, right on the beach. A short ride from the airport, just time for one beer. It has the Diamond Club, and the Riviera (cheap seats). From my early morning wandering I noticed the beach chairs in the Diamond club get presure washed (bird poop?), but towels were plentifull so no problem. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. The buffet was extensive, to point of almost being a better option than the restaurants, if you did not wish to linger over a meal. Altho [... read more]ugh the restaurants did not require booking, just line up and wait, ( we were part of a wedding group), we found that you could get in if: a) you had a group 6 or more, and b) you offered to purchase a couple of bottles of wine ($US35 - >$100) rather than accept the house wine. Do bring your own sunscreen, as it will cost you $US30 on the resort or a $35 cab ride into town.

Excellent Service

We thought that the hotel itself is beautiful. The service from the employee's was above average.They were also very friendly.The cleaning of the room was above and beyond.The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained.The food was wonderful. Almost oerfect

Amazing rooms,beach,pools,food and drinks and staff. Only negatives are they need way more umbrellas. Also on site medical is not good and they sent us to most expensive hospital when my son got sick. Totally a money grab. Finally while nice they no longer have sunwing representatives on site. They farm it out to nexus who's only interest is in selling you day trips!! Would still totally recommend but just keep in mind the above.

Family Friendly All-Inclusive

Excellent resort. Great food (including buffet) good variety of restaurants. Lots of pools, grounds are clean and well-maintained. Great Waterpark for kids, friendly staff. Soft white sandy beach, lots of loungers. Diamond Club/Butler Service worth the upgrade. Rooms are good size, well appointed with lots of amenities. Also, a very well thought out property layout, especially for such a large property (over 1000 rooms) - very walkable, everything within a short walk. Beautiful

The resort is beautiful. The service is amazing. The Splash pad is wonderful if you are travelling with kids. Staff is very attentive. Location is remote. Taxi into Cancun is expensive. Will definitley return.

Nice

Nice resort, very large and a long way from town. Good food. Friendly staff. Hard to get a sunbed near the pool unless you got up at 5am. Really aggresive sales people pushing the Royalton club thing.

I wouldnt say it's the best unless it was/is

I never go back anyplace simply based on the fact that I feel there can be better out there or more for the buck so to speak...well, after being here for a week, I can honestly say i'll be back. Hands down, the finest resort I've ever been to in my life.

Wonderful resort!

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Royalton. We had a beautiful ocean view junior suite with roof top jacuzzi which we used several times (weirdly you have to have maintenance fill your tub). Resort is gorgeous and food excellent. My only regret is that we didn't upgrade either to diamond club or adults only section. The pool area could get quite noisy. All in all a great time

Parents beware

The first night I was there l sat outside waiting for my two grandsons to go to sleep, I got bitten with hundreds of mosquito bites. I looked like I had some dread disease on my legs for the entire trip. DO not let them give you a room on the first floor facing the mangrove Swamp. Also, there was a huge building close by that is LOUD LOUD LOUD and smells of diesel. I complained about all of this twice to the main desk. They just shrugged their shoulders and said they were full and could not chan [... read more]ge my room. My. grandson -9 months- got hand foot and mouth. Needless to say that ruined their trip as he was crying from the pain. We travel as a family group. Myself, my daughters and their families. What effects one effects all of us. Very happy with our stay at the Royalton

Had an excellent stay at the Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun. We go on holidays to use the beach and we loved how big the beach was and that there was never a shortage of beach chairs. We had very good service on the beach from the staff at the Hideaway beach bar (make sure to tip and the service is even better). We thoroughly enjoyed the food at all the restaurants. After reading other reviews we had two main concerns. 1) seaweed on the beach, they have now bought a tractor and beach sweepe [... read more]r and they stay on top of keeping the beach clean. 2) I agree with other reviewers, do not get a mangrove facing room. even with a room facing pool side we had two or three mosquitos in our room to hunt down each night.

Amazing Resort!

This was a wonderful resort with amazing views. Many pools. The kids area, while we didn't use it, was fantastic. Staff was attentive. Rooms were luxurious. Amazing view from our ocean view Junior suite. Beach was cleaned daily. My daughter and I were spoiled with our Diamond club status.

ROYALTON CANCUN BEST EVER

The title says it all. No need to upgrade everyone is #1. Best not to get a room on the back of resort as there may be a lot of noise from the laundry/service building. All rooms are close to beach. This resort offers the best to all. We have been staying in all inclusives for many many years and this has been the best yet and staying within a reasonable budget. Needless to say the price will prob go up. Hopefully not. Service, food and liquor choices were beyond exceptional.

Amazing beautiful resort

This resort was amazing and beautiful the food was great the beach was beautiful the service was good and our family really enjoyed it. It was by far the nicest were resort we've been to so far and I would definitely recommend it and take my family again. Our kids loved the waterpark it was very nice. And it's nice and close to airport.

Loved this elegant resort!!!

This resort is very sleek, modern, well kept great food, top notch drinks and the room was cleaned at least 2x per day . The entertainment was fantastic as well. The only thing to be aware of is there is a water park for kids on one side of the resort so it does attract families . I was totally ok with that but some people on s honeymoon might want to be aware of that .

Room not what we expected

The room we had was not what we expected, the tripcentral website described it as a Luxury Junior suit and the hotel named it as "Studio", we expected separate room for the kids but we ended up in the same room with two queen beds.....I have been booking my trip with you since over 6 years and this time I had this disappointment.....other than that the service was good and the food was excellent....on the downside the see was not clear water

Very fine resort

The hotel is beautifully designed, spacious, ample facilities and architecturally creative and very attractive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodations are spacious and attractive and the facilities excellent. The food is bountiful and very varied and the quality is adequate. All in all a most enjoyable and memorable stay.

Pretty great resort!

Overall we had a great time, great food, beautiful rooms and pools. Only down side was the algae but they can't help that because of the tides, we did have a few calmer sea days where the water was almost free of algae and we were able to enjoy the beach. Entertainment was lacking but the service was good. Kids club is great and the water park is a nice touch!
