Barcelo Maya Palace: A great place BUT

Firstly, I’d like to say, this place has great food, well manicured grounds, overall beautiful rooms, good beds, and good air-conditioning. The beach is a little rocky and compared to other beaches. I would give it a 7 out of 10. BUT my main complaint is the inability to get chairs or lounges to sit around the pool or the beach. The problem is there are signs that say “do not reserve seats” but no one enforces it. If you look across the pool you see lots of lounge chairs but NOBODY is sitting [... read more] in any of them. They were all occupied by a book, a shoe, a floaty, a towel etc. At the beach we saw chairs that were reserved and nobody showed up until after lunch. If they are going to have signs outlining a no reserving chair policy, someone has to be there in the morning to enforce it and stop people. My only other minor complaint was the drinks. The Margaritas and any of the mixed drinks were so sweet that you could barely drink them. The orange juice is not really orange juice, it’s Tang or some made up orange mixture. Make sure you ask or specify what alcohol brand or type you want in your drink or you get some generic type of alcohol instead

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: The Blue Bay Grand Esmaralda was an okay resort for it's price. Not a 4.5 Resort.

The food was good and the service was great. The pool's were really nice, but need more stairs to get into it. They also need new chairs, plus no umbrella's to give you a little shade. The area near our room smelled like a sewer pit, because of the swamps all over. Thanks Murray Schroeder

Secrets Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Very nice

The hotel is very well kept, clean etc. The staff was excellent and helpful Food and rooms at the resort was very good. Only downside was the beach was not the best…pools were very good . I would go to a secrets again, but would check out beach in the future.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort!

I would definitely go back! The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the staff are friendly, the food is great, and the drinks are even better! I do usually love the beach but there was quite a bit of seaweed so we stayed by the pool most of the time but would make our way to the beach by late afternoon, after they had cleaned it up a bit. Our room was okay but I loved our view because we had the sunset. However, our shower was a bit leaky and required a bit of cleanup after each shower. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful and amazing resort

Beach is absolutely gorgeous. Grounds are immaculate. Buffet food is varied and very good. Lots of free amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check in and check out. For the first time ever, this a resort I would definitely go back to and would recommend to others.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Amazing Resort

Our stay was going exceptionally well until an unfortunate incident occurred: my children accidentally broke the TV in our room. The hotel charged me $800 for a replacement 45-inch non-smart TV, which, upon research, I found could be purchased for around $300. I expressed my concerns about this discrepancy and requested to discuss the matter with the manager. Regrettably, the managers did not make themselves available to meet with me. Grand Palladium Colonial: Grand palladium Colonial

We booked through Trip Central, flew with Westjet and had a semi private transfer from Cancun Airport... The GP resort is amazing built among the mangroves, giving it a wonderful ambiance of nature. Lots of wildlife, from the flamingos greetings every morning, the shy agouti and the adventures of the coutimondi. Our room was dated, however it was kept spotless by our attend Angeles. We never had to reserve a lounge or a palapa at the White Sands pool or on the beach. We also enjoyed the watersports, kayaking and peddle boats, it was often " red flag" due to high winds, the beach however had very little seaweed and was totally walkable. Did I mention how great the staff was...this is one resort we would definitely return to.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Pleasant stay at Barceló Maya Tropical

We are two couples who stayed at the Barcelo Maya Tropical for two weeks in February. We enjoyed the variety and quality of the food at both the buffet restaurants and the a la cartes, although it was difficult getting reservations at the latter for the first few days. However some of the drinks at the pool bar were poor quality. The rooms we had were spacious and clean and the grounds very well maintained. We made extensive use of the massive fitness facility. The beach is nice although somewha [... read more]t rocky in spots. The pools are huge and for the little ones, the water parks looked well designed. Even though the resort is very large we found it easy to navigate and get around to the restaurants located throughout the complex. We found the staff very friendly overall. We found it good value for money and would return.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort!

The room was modern and well appointed with AC, Fan, Lighting, comfortable bed and couch. The grounds were immaculate with many tropical plants and constantly cared for by the gardeners. The menu was varied and the a la carte restaurants were top notch offering well prepared fabulous tasting dishes elegantly presented. The evening shows were very interesting and entertaining. There was always a place to reline on the long sandy beach to watch the surf roll in after a swim in the ocean. Sensira Resort and Spa: Highly Recommended

Absolutely loved the resort ! Stayed in the Ruby honeymoon suite with beautiful romantic views. The grounds, pools, buildings, restaurants and friendly courteous staff all made our 10 day visit go by too quickly. Hoping to return next year.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Perfect, as always.

This is not my first trip to Barcelo AO and it won't be my last. The food was delicious, the grounds were immaculate, and the rooms were welcoming and comfortable. But the best thing about Barcelo is the staff. I have to say, they are so friendly and warm, kind and helpful. Each night we looked forward to having drinks at the lobby bar/terrace and always tried to sit in Yazmin or Norma's section. They are exceptional servers who work hard and make all guests feel like family. A special shout out [... read more] to Maru Navarro. This caring young lady always goes above and beyond for Barcelo guests, making their stay perfect, and smooth. We loved walking by the Premium lobby, just to wave or stop in to say hello and she always had a big, warm smile on her face. We love how she always goes the extra mile, to make the trip extraordinary, positive and memorable. I'd like to always give a shout out to David Quiroga and Araceli Castro, in the French restaurant (La Comedie) at the AO. Always a smile on their faces and they went out of their way to make sure our dining experience was top notch. Barcelo you have hired some great people, who work very hard to give guests a positive experience. Well done. See you next year.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Amazing time

This is the fifth time I’ve been to this resort I have an amazing time always something to do any events shows and theme parties. Multiple pools to choose from with one crazy party pool who can ask for anything more

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Just ok

The hotel was nice and clean. Huge resort and lots of greenery and golf carts to help with getting around. Rooms were clean and spacious and beds were comfortable. The drinks in our room were not replenished and needed to ask 5 times. The food was good .. you won’t starve. Entertainment was ok as well. Beach was horrible.. extremely dirty this was a huge let down. We made the most of it and had a nice time but I would not return. I prefer Dominican

Grand Oasis Riviera: Dissapointed

Poor service, low quality food, limited choices of food, low quality drinks, limited choices of drinks. Hotel management does not take ownership of their issues. We've been in a room without hot water for the first 4 days, then they change us to a new room on Sunday at 9pm., after everyday notifications of this issue. Absolutely not worthy to come back

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Good but not great

Nice stay, food soso, beach soso, resort nice, not enough staff, rude from time to time, but likely due to shirr staff. Same company runs Planet H at Costa M. That resort was nicer, better food, and staff.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort Overall

Do you homework on reviews beforehand and you will not be disappointed. The grounds, amenities, and rooms here are excellent. There is no beach access directly on the resort but there are trolley's that come by every 10-15 minutes that take you across the highway to the non-adult Bahia Properties which are coastal. Older demographic of guests, very quiet for the most part. Pools are pretty small but you can always find a chair at one of them. Non-smoking unless in designated areas which was a bo [... read more]nus. Lots of a la carte choices if you want to venture to one of the resorts across the highway, only 2 on site. Can always get something to eat between the buffet and poolside snack bar. Food was above average IMO. Service was excellent no matter what property you are on. Great spot for pure relaxation and quiet, if you are looking to party or for good nightlife you should look elsewhere.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Fabulous resort

We had a good 2 week stay at this resort. The resort is large but everything was easy to get to. The weather was perfect with only 1 rainy day where they held the outdoor activities in the lobby. The pool was really nice but found it was cold in the morning but warmed up later in the day. The room was spacious with the most comfortable beds. I had the best sleeps while I was there. We only reserved 1 dinner which was at the Italian restaurant and it was very good. A large variety of food in the buffet restaurant. Saturday was Mexican theme night in the buffet restaurant and vendors came in and sold their products. Thursday afternoon is the foam party in the swim up pool. Lots of fun. The entertainment group got you involved in different activities. The only downfall is the resort is in the boonies so you had to take a cab where ever you went. A great resort with lots of fun.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Favorite Resort

This was 3rd stay at Sian Kaan. Did not disappoint. Excellent experience from checkin to check out. The proximity to PGA Riviera Maya (a Robert Trent Jones designed gol course) is the highlight for me. Playing golf at sunrise leaves the rest of the day to enjoy the resort. Appreciate the service at the pool, lobby bar and restaurants. Enjoyable selections of food. There is lot of construction in the area with the new train. So not as peaceful as it was the last time. A visit during hi [... read more]gh season meant the resort was busier but will always be my preferred place for winter escape for golf and sub from the winter.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful property!!

We had a fantastic stay at the Palace. Some of the best food we've ever had in Mexico, and the staff were supper friendly and accommodating. Jesus in the Caribe a la carte went above and beyond both nights we ate there. Our friend has severe food allergies and Jesus made sure he vetted the menu and made the kitchen aware. Nice pools and beach area, the kid's zone was amazing! They do need to do something about the pool/beach chair issue though! Some chairs were reserved for hours with no one using them! We personally watched 4 chairs with no one in them for 7 hours!.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Quiet Little Resort

Grand Oasis Tulum was a joy to go to. Small and compact to negotiate youraelf around. Beach and ocean was beautiful. Good for snorkelling and kayaking around the coral reef. The resort is dated but service from the workers were top notch. All in all we loved this little jem. Thanks from Bruce and Kelly
