Secrets The Vine Cancun: Secrets The Vine was an excellent resort
The hotel was beautiful as was the service, staff and entertainment. We felt like royalty and no pressure to stick to schedules. There was plenty to do on the resort and meals were amazing. The only disappointment was the extended wait to get a table at the steak place. No reservations taken, first come first serve with no guarantee of a seating for dinner. The wait was in excess of two hours and our meal was served at 11:00 p.m.. The buffets and Sea Salt restaurants were our favourites. Shouts [... read more]go out to many staff i.e. the Chef in buffet area who came out to greet us as well as Alonzo, Luis in the entertainment area around the pool, and Sergio our drink server around the pool. Everyone we encountered was incredibly helpful. We would definitely recommend the place to friends and family and return for a second visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had an amazing time!

Temptation Resort & Spa: We had an AMAZING time!!!
We stayed from Feb. 22nd to March 1st, 2018. We had the most amazing time!! This was our first visit to this resort and we are definitely going back! The resort has to be the cleanest resort we have ever been to....there is always people cleaning! You could eat off the floors.
The food was amazing. We ate at all but the seafood and Mexican restaurants. The tapenyaki show and food was so so good. The menu at the SHE was superb and the restaurant's concept of sensuality was romantic and we[... read more] loved every minute of it. Miguel at the SHE was awesome. Flame is a great steakhouse and did not disappoint. Francisco served us great steaks and did an amazing flame dessert for us. Our other Francisco served us breakfast every morning at the Flame buffet. He looked after us so well. The coffee shop made awesome chai tea lattes!
Then there's the "playmakers" the entertainment team. Mini Cooper, Laura, Shelby, Lollipop, Pedro were awesome and kept us entertained at the pool all day with their games. They were Awesome! At night, love Julio....He made us feel so welcome! The theme nights and entertainment were so much fun. Now that I know what to expect on theme nights I will be packing a bit differently**wink! This resort is definitely not for everyone. 80% of the women are topless during the day and depending on the theme night don't wear much more. We loved it!! We are a bit of a larger couple so was a little apprehensive but discovered no one judged and no one cared how you looked or what you wore. It was so refreshing and freeing. I always felt safe, relaxed and well, sexually charged but...no means No is one of the rules and strictly enforced!!
The staff was amazing, although we did not like all the pressure sales to get us to look into the Premier Club. We made it very clear we weren't interested and don't pay the $20 to hold the appointment.
The rooms are very updated as it was renovated last year. Our room was near the quiet pool and had no trouble sleeping. The Tower could very much hear the party until 2am. That's too noisy when trying to sleep! The pool is large but the beach is very small with marinas on both sides but you could still go for a good walk or run.
We have nothing negative to say about this resort and will be returning for many years to come. This place promotes sensuality and sexuality and it was just what we needed to just reconnect with each other⤠We can't wait to return!

Riu Dunamar: Lovely new resort.
Rooms were great. I think all rooms had a partial view of the water. AC was a noisy hum. Grounds are well kept. Still developing. Very clean; always someone around sweeping; mopping; wiping. A la cartes were at most a 40 minute wait depending on the night. They also seemed to be hit and miss on the food quality. We went to the steak place twice and the first night the steak and ribs were tender and tasty. A few nights later, they were dry and tough. We walked out and went to the buffet. [... read more] Jose in the lobby bar always had a smile on his face and was very friendly. Evening entertainment in the lobby was nice. ie: sax player Evening entertainment at the theatre was not very good. One night was "Mr. Riu" and other "Couples Night" so you know when they do that, they do not have entertainers and are just making up a show with some guests in it. The only evening that I enjoyed was the Circus show; it was excellente!
Our first night there, the fire alarm went off about 4:20 in the morning. Scared the bejeebers out of me as I had been in a deep sleep. We left our room and went down four flights of stairs to the lobby. There were no staff around the hotel except one person in the lobby to advise us on the situation. It was finally determined to be a faulty sensor at pool#4. Our last night there (wee hours of march 01st), the alarm went off three times. It was a false alarm each time and at least this time the staff was quicker about advising us. Whatever is setting off the alarm; it needs to be looked after. Resort is 45 min north of the airport so a bit remote especially as there is currently no bus service. Cab ride is $30 one way. I would return to this resort if they fixed the fire alarm sensor and had a shuttle or bus service. Also need to improve their evening shows.

Paradisus Cancun: Amazing resort!!
This resort is 20 minutes from the airport....you arrive in no time... Check in was slow but there was an employee there serving you drinks while you waited for your room key. Check in took about an hour...that is my only complaint. The grounds, beach, ocean, food, drinks, service were all above par. We got in to every restaurant we wanted with no issues. Food was excellent. Service was excellent . We never waited long before a waiter came to ask us if we were ready for a drink at the poo[... read more]l. Everyone was very friendly......Especially Michael Lara, a pool employee. He made us feel comfortable and welcoming at the pool. They have a coffee station that you were welcome to use when it was open for free coffee and very fresh donuts. I loved the cappacinos! Also had an icecream bar open during the day with candy and syrup toppings to use. The room was large with very comfortable beds and a large shower in the bathroom. I would definitely book this hotel again. I miss it already!

Occidental Tucancun: Fabulous service
This was our first time in Cancún as we usually go to the riviera maya. We loved it.
There are a lot of stairs so might not be a good choice for people with mobility issues. The hotel is on the upper level with the three pools staggered down the stairs to the huge beach area at the bottom. We were there for the last week of February and regardless of the pool or beach we could always find a lounge chair. That was a nice change.
There was often a line at the family pool bar but the other two[... read more] pool bars were rarely busy. Pablo did a good job running around the resort keeping everyone hydrated.
The rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. The room was well stocked and comfortable. We were travelling with another couple and the desk was very accommodating and ensured that our rooms were beside each other. This never happens!
The food was very good and considering it is a smaller resort than we are used to the variety and themes in the small buffet kept dinners from being too repetitive. The two a la carte restaurants did a great job and offered a good menu. My daughter did not travel with us but she is vegetarian and I often looked at the food choices to see if there were options for her. I don’t think that she would have fared well. Mexico likes their meat and seafood.
The biggest treat for us was the friendly service. Omar and Fabian and Nancy and Tomas and Karyme and Antonio just to name a few made this trip extra special.
The location is great. The hotel is on this wide expanse of beach but when you walk out of the hotel you are across the street from a huge shopping mall and steps away from the local bus that goes by every other minute to take you into town. If you want to grab a meal off the resort there are many nearby options.

Occidental Tucancun: Very enjoyable holiday
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating--right from booking in to the time we left.
We had an ocean view room with a balcony--my wife couldn't stop saying how much she loved it !!
There were plenty of pools--including an "adults only"--not overcrowded--plenty of loungers--it wasn't necessary to get up early to put in a "claim" on them. All had close by bars and there was a bar "runner" if you were too lazy to get up!
The cleaning staff did a wonderful job not only with the [... read more]room--but were constantly cleaning all furnishings --for the most part everything looked spotless.
I would rate the food 8.5 out of 10. Not a lot of restaurants--but a good variety of choices--and theme nights (seafood,Italian, Mediterranian,Mexican,Asian) and a 24 hr snackbar.
Overall a wonderful holiday--we would return.

Oleo Cancun Playa: Amazing experience! will definitely be returning!
My mom and I stayed at this resort from Feb 18th - Feb 25th 2018. We we're really happy we chose this resort as it is smaller than most resorts in the Cancun area. We both felt very at home at this resort and we will certainly be going back, the renovations are almost fully complete so do not let them discourage you!! I think it will be impeccable when they are finished.
The Resort was VERY clean and modern looking throughout! We had a superior sunset view of the ocean and lagoon which was wo[... read more]nderful, although you could occasionally hear traffic. The rooms were beautiful, very modern and clean. The beach was perfect, I am glad that they have lifeguards on duty for swimmers. Seaweed usually gets cleaned up daily. I suggest going down to the beach early in the morning to save yourself a lawn chair and a tent, staff can help you arrange chairs and tents! The pool was also nice and kept very clean.
Food/Drink : Azul (buffet) was very good, lots of American and Mexican food choices and were very well prepared. They had something for everyone, and some dishes would change day to day. The Almar restaurant (Mediterranean) was just ok, presentation was nice, service was just fair, food was good but not amazing. The Hakka restaurant (Oriental) was good, a small selection but it was good, and the service was great. There is also a canteen style restaurant by the pool; you can order your food from the beach and they bring it over to you! Both bars (pool and lobby) had great drinks and service!! The only suggestion I have for the lobby bar is to have the lobby lights dimmed in that area in the evenings. We found it almost too bright so the ambiance wasn't as relaxing.
Activities: This resort offers daily activities such as fitness classes, competitions on the beach or in the pool, games, art work, evening activities and entertainment which were fun to include. The resort gym was better than I had expected it to be; it included dumbbells up to 50 lbs, a couple different benches (flat, decline, military), treadmills, ellipticals, a bike, a leg extension machine, a hamstring curl machine, and a double set of cables that are height adjustable and interchangeable. The only suggestion I have for the gym would be to add a couple more attachments for the cables (Ex. a smaller straight bar and a rope would be a big improvement) - overall a modern and clean gym for a decent quick workout. There is also a tennis court with a basketball hoop if you wish to play!
Service: AMAZING service all around! From the moment we stepped foot in the door, Santiago had made my mom and I feel so at home and safe as it was our first time traveling to Cancun and didn't know what to expect. Santiago is very sweet and trustworthy

Grand Oasis Cancun: Worth it
Nice hotel, clean, great food, nice staff unless you call the front desk late. Always a rough time to get the supposedly included in-room bottled water, beers and sodas. Only clubs available after 1030pm and they all close at 1am which was a disappointment. A true party resort nonetheless, we'd probably go back.

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Powdery Sandy Beach
What we liked-
1. the beach was beautiful with powdery sand, calm and inviting, the best beach in the whole area.
2. The hotel accommodations in the preferred section was clean, well maintained, had comfortable beds and lots of hangers and big enough lock box for your laptops.
3. A la cart restaurants - Wave and Sands was my favourite with tasty pop corn shrimps, claim chowder and surf and turf but small portions.
Bordeaux was another great restaurant, loved the fish and the beef tenderlo[... read more]in dishes.
4. Great staff that goes out of there way to please you
5. Free Water bottles in the room and bars
Didn’t like -
1. Buffet was low quality and not much variety. Overall the food was below par. The Mexican food was below my expectations.
2. You have to ask for higher brand of alcohol otherwise you get the lower grade (ie tequila). The Strawberry daiquiri drink was terrible made from some red syrup
3. Cocktails and drinks served in plastic cups
Overall i would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: Great value!
Two great beaches (hence the name Dos Plays), clean, warm water, no undertow, several nice clean pools, great friendly staff, pizza and burger options all day, cold drinks, rooms clean and more than ok, hotel close enough to the party zone (~30 min walk) but far enough away that there's no noise or stupidity or traffic, lots of locals and families enjoying themselves at the adjacent public beach (Playa Tortuga). Great value.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Decent for Spring Break
The overall trip was awesome as a there was a group of 9. We all had an awesome time but still some flaws. First off, they do nothing in order to help you. We got to our room and the AC didn't work, nor did the fridge. They pretty much told us we were lying and that there was nothing they can do. Thank God we were pinned the entire time because the food was pretty greasy. Everything is a trap. Every chance they get they will charge you dumb amounts of money. For example one day I fell against a[... read more] cheap little fountain and they wanted 1000USD. My friend broke a plate and paid 100$. Overall the people don't care about you and you will pay extra. Would not recommend any Caucasian people to travel to Mexico. Scary place.

GR Solaris Caribe Adults Only: 5 Stars Paradise
Everything about our stay was exceptional. The Hotel was beautiful, quiet and clean. The food choices were diverse, and tasted better than all other southern trips ive been on. The sit down restaurants rival upscale outfits here at home. All staff members were always friendly and happy. The rooms were modernized, comfortable and clean. Surprisingly there was no musty smell which I've become accustomed to when going south. The adjoining resort is also exceptional and offers even more. Riu Dunamar: Very nice new resort
This hotel is very beautiful, grounds are neat, pools are nice, entertainment and food are very good. I would suggest asking for a room near the elevators as it is a very long walk to your room if you are not located near an elevator. Beautiful beach but hotel is not located near any other tourist activities, so plan on staying at resort.

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Awesome place
Nicest resort around that region, on either side none of them were near as nice. Many parts to the resort were unlike any place I had seen before, i.e. hard liquor bottles in every room, nice mix of music by the pool, speakers and a DJ all day long at the pool
