Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation!
After reading some mixed reviews I was nervous with what to expect, but our stay was great, this resort met our expectations. Food was as good as expected, having been to Cuba before. The grounds (landscaping) needs some work but the beach is beautiful and that's why we go! All in all, we have no real complaints. This was a typical Cuban 4 star resort.
Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful!
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Great entertainment staff. Food was OK, not the greatest but there was something for everyone. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Good location with easy access to public transport. Beautiful pools.
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Average experience
This hotel appears to be modern in design but disappointing on cleanliness and needs a lot of TLC. The pool sizes are great and there is plenty of seating but again needs to be cleaned. Always empty glasses everywhere and needs many minor repairs. The beach are is beautiful but very narrow and rocky. The food was average. Staff very friendly and attentive.
Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Relaxing trip
I spent the week of April 27th to May 4th 2017 at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa.Had a great trip ,food was really good, service was awesome drinks were amazing! Thank you Marco! Met the sweetest beach boy who was a hard worker and super friendly by the name of David...Great job David!! Although I was a bit disappointed with the beach and all the seaweed,I had been to the same area two years ago and it was quite a bit worse now this year. They are continuously trying to keep it clear but it's like [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice Beach
Room was great with a nice big walk-in shower. It's a newish resort so things are not fully grown yet. When walkways and hard surfaces are wet they are very slippery. Pools are nice with plenty of lounge chairs and shade. The beach was long and narrow with lots of chairs and palapas. The problem is the food and restaurants. There is no reservations for à la carte restaurants which makes for long line ups. The buffet does not open untill 6:30pm for supper and there was a line up for that too [... read more]
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good resort!
Hotel ground were very clean, restaurants and buffet were really good (especially the fish station at the buffet). Staff was really accommodating, polite, helpful, and always smiling. Now we've got to mention the rooms. The rooms were left to be desired. The first day we were in room 5521. Walls were full of stains, floors dirty, lamp broken, water tap in bathtub were rusted, shower door gross!!! (Even got pictures to prove it). On day two, I asked to change room. They sent me to room 5314. The [... read more]
Playa Vista Azul: Good time
Nice hotel friendly people good service nice room will come back to go to Havana again Suggestion: time show - the lights should be pointed at presenters not audience was hard to watch the show the lights were blinding
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very clean resort
We just came back from a week at this resort, April 24 to May 1 2017. Over all we were very happy. They need more shade by the pool and at the beach, it gets very hot and for us white Canadians we need to protect ourselves in the shade. The food was good, I was a little surprised there wasnt pool bar service and beach service. Not that it mattered since I needed the excersise to get our drinks. The piano bar musicians were excellent and had everyone dancing. Mikes coffee bar is a nice bonus as [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Decent resort
My fiancé and I were here last summer and loved it. We brought our family last week and noticed a lot had gone downhill - service was poor, grounds not kept up properly, our room keys wouldn't work on a daily basis, snack bar selection and service was atrocious. Two of the snack bar waitresses were downright rude and the buffet wait staff did not offer drinks nearly enough- my four year old would be done eating his meal and still not have a cup of water offered to him. A la carte restaurant by [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Only Fair!
The resort was only average...it was too big with not enough staff. The rooms were clean and maid staff were good, however they often ran out of clean towels so you could go days without any fresh linen. Customer service was very poor. We asked to be in a room in the same block as our friends and both our travel agent and transit rep requested it...out transat rep even wrote us a note indicating that it was all arranged, however when we checked in they did now acknowledge knowing anything about [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: 3 star at best
DONOT pay for privilege at this resort it is not worth the upgrade! This resort was a big disappointment. We had 6 rooms with everyone that we travelled with! To start we all had to get our key cards reactivated every single day for every single room and no security check to see if we were actually from that room. Our room was missing ceiling tiles and we could see the lovely pipes and wires. We were on the main level, there was no lock on the sliding door and when we requested it be fixed the f [... read more]
Ocean Blue and Sand: Some good... some not so good
Pools/Beach - I was very surprised to find that there is almost no shade at this resort. There is a small area at the beach with shade but it was so packed, there wasn't enough room for us. Sure we could have gone down and put our towels out early in the morning but I don't want to sit inches away from total strangers. The loungers were really packed together. They also have a roped off "privileged" section and the beds and chairs are practically on top of one another. This was seemed so ob [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great beach, resort not so much
Bartenders and drinks were good, awesome cappuccino and coffee. Resort fairly new and modern, but not very clean. Trash rarely picked up off the ground by staff. Straws and cups floating around the pools regularly. Food not so great, buffet loud, dirty and not very tasty(even by cuban standards). Not very many activities day or night - lots on the activity board but not much of it actually happened. Would not go back. (First time I have felt that way about a resort)
Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Simply perfect
This hotel was amazing!! All the pictures you see of this resort are true examples of what it actually looks like. Check in was smooth and our room was ready. We enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. There were 4 pools you could choose from depending how much activity you wanted. We spent time in all except the kids pool. The staff is amazing and are always willing to serve. They communicate very well in english. Food was good always something to please everyone. Liked how the evening acti [... read more]
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good vacation, wouldn't go back though
Very clean resort. Good food choices, including the buffets and restaurants. Service was hit and miss at buffet, restaurants and bars; sometimes fast and some times very slow. Pools were good. Kids pool was good, but I didn't like how you were not allowed to go down the slides with your kids. The beach was terrible! Very, very rocky...if you want to go in wear water shoes. Another negative was that we had to wait over an hour to get our luggage from the concierge, juat bring it yourself [... read more]
Ocean Blue and Sand: Fantastic resort
We went to this resort on the advise of our Trip Central advisor and we were not disappointed. Everything went well from the flight to the transfer to the check in. The resort is not to big but big enough to be by yourself if you want. There are two enormous pools which both have a swim up bar and the servers were fantastic. The al a cart restaurants were all great and the Japanese is worth the trip with all the entertainment going on. The resort is well maintained and clean. We would go back in [... read more]
Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Perfect getaway
This resort was a perfect getaway. The property is immaculate .It was a great time to go as it wasn't very busy. The service is excellent, the food amazing. I can't really say anything bad about this Resort. We aren't Beach people so we spent most of our time at the pool where Jazmin looked after us all day ( with a smile) .Yes there was some seaweed on the beach but no big deal .we will definitely be back
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Resort!
Excellent value for the price, upgrading to priveledge is not worth the money but for us it was included in price. Pools and beach are to die for, very very well kept resort. Little far from airport but didn't mind the scenic drive, let's you see other parts of the country. Currency exchange always had long line and never had one dollar bills. Ice cream is dairy free and bring ketchup! Wifi is absolutely awful only got on three times in a week! No night life, more of a resort for couples or olde [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Large Resort
Beach is narrow and most of the time the tide was in thereby making the beach narrower still. Everything is spread out and because the resort is so large the staff don't get to know you like the smaller resorts. Lots of confusion and miscommunication with staff, being sent to wrong location. Overall resort was okay not a 4.5 star resort, maybe a 3.
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa Del Mar Cayo Santa Maria Cuba
Grounds were nice and well maintained, gardens still growing in, will be very nice in a few years. Check in was fast and was easy to get a bell boy to provide a ride to the room. We did not get a king bed as requested and the bathroom did not have a proper stand up shower, only a tub with a hand held sprayer. (tub was jet tub, but not what we desire when travelling, we prefer proper showers). turns out the hand held shower head did not work due to previous occupant broke the knob. We requested a [... read more]
