Sol Palmeras: Very nice resort
Hotel is not bad overall, buffet is not good but special dining restaurants are much better especially the Italian restaurant. Beach, sea and pool are wonderful, good location as well. Wifi reception is poor in the room but good in the lobby, $1 CUC per minute is expensive.
Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing? not anymore!
Looks way better on pictures as it really is, in need of a lot of repairs. Tennis courts etc. in desperate need of maintenance. Very noisy evening programs till late at night. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Affordable getaway!
The entire resort was beautiful, I have been to Cuba plenty of times before and this is the most cleanest resort I’ve been too. Staff is great and food is decent, lobster meal amazing! Def would go back!
Tryp Cayo Coco: Disappointing
First time in Cuba - the beach was lovely and white, water shallow, water activities a highlight and our reason for choosing this location . Staff was very friendly and service was great especially if you tip early in the week. But food very bland, underwhelming, coffee watered down “American styleâ€. We enjoyed the double espresso at the bar instead. Ate lunch at a local restaurant in Moron and the rice/bean staple was spiced with cumin and the pork was crusted with herbs - 20 times better t [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Never again
The rooms were okay Pool was okay beach was nice BUT dining was awful ran out of plates ran out glasses cups fork everything no where to sit down it was Chaos people everywhere I’m not kidding you We found a piece of glass in our drink a big piece Quite and tried to hide it we took picture and to top it off 7 out of 10 of us got food poisoning we think all the Symptoms Awful awful awful I will never go there again
Paradisus Los Cayos: Best Seven Days Ever
I spent a week over Christmas and the time there was amazing. Rafael at the tiki hut was so friendly and helpful. He was quick to help us out with a fishing trip and my usual drink was ready whenever I arrived. His smiling face and energetic dance behind the bar was a great source of fun. Madelin was a treasure. Quick to come to my rescue when my poor phone landed in the ocean with me. A bag of rice was snagged in minutes and my phone dropped in. She always had a smile and hug waiting for me. [... read more]
Chambre: Not [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: A relaxing vacation
Meliá Cayo Coco is an excellent resort. When we arrived and checked into our room that smelled of smoke, it was immediately exchanged for a non-smoking room. Our toilet stopped flushing one night and was fixed first thing in the morning. Food was tasty and there was plenty of variety. For someone with gluten-free diet, I had no problems choosing from a variety of meats, eggs, rice, and vegetable dishes. The a la carte restaurants were fantastic and fully prepared to accommodate dietary restric [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Dancing in Cuba
We went to Cuba over the week of new years eve and had a great time. The food, service, and entertainment made for a wonderful trip. Relaxing or fun was possible there. There is a dance club above the guest services desk that is open nightly from11pm-2am I would recommend this resort.
Melia Internacional: Cuba Gem
Great resort with best beach location in Varadero. Close proximity and walking distance to Beatles Bar with live rock music and other cool places in town such as great shopping and music. Rooms are outstanding with superb style and comfort. Great variety of food choice and buffets and a la cartes are plenty and good. Resort is amazing !
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not a 5 Star Resort, more like a 2 Star
We had two cockroaches in our room, need I say any more about this resort. The resort was under staffed, and service was slow. Extremely disappointed in food - hardly any vegetables and fruit. Lukewarm shower every day in our room. The rooms are tired looking and need a renovation. We are non-smokers, and could smell smoke through the ventilation system in our room. The smoking at this resort is disgusting during the week we stayed (pool area, outside restaurants, beach, pool area), we cou [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort but not a 5 stars
Location is very nice, not to big not to small. Varadero legendary sand beach. Food and service is excellent except with 1 of the A-la-carte restaurant. Bamboo restaurant needs to be overalled. The major weakness is no water pressure and/or no hot water! This is a no go even for a 4stars location!
Melia Las Americas: Beautiful resort
Beautiful beach, amazing golf, relax or participate in activities. Sit in the lobby at night and enjoy a drink and listen to live entertainment or go to the Theater and watch the shows. Enjoy dinner at the a la carte restaurants. Take a walk around the grounds, there’s so much to do
Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia jardine del Ray
3rd time at this resort Lobby bar staff fantastic Some areas were not up to par at the beginning of holiday- bathrooms not cleaned or opened Very disappointed that there was no entertainment in NYE Gardeners very friendly Request of a particular building was granted which was awesome Beach is spectacular Return visitors get late check out/ sooo appreciated when we didn’t leave hotel until 5:30 pm
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 4th time in 4 years
The beach is the most beautiful we have been to. Although the selection of food may have gone down there is always something offered. We enjoyed our stay as usual and will probably go back. Being so familiar, easy and quick getaway to shorten our winter!
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful experience
Clean, good food, friendly and respectful staff. I enjoyed my stay here. Of and the massage guy...wonderful job! The location of the hotel is great. The tour guides were excellent and funny . Overall, it was a great experience.
Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Dunas - New Year's Eve horrible experience
Overall, the resort was good as it was big and well maintained. Our room was always nice and clean thanks to Betty! However, the resort was busy and doesn't seem to be well-staffed during the holiday season. As the price was obviously a premium, you would expect to have a very enjoyable experience. Every single meal we had to wait at least 20 minutes in line to get our food either at the buffet or beach house. Had to wait an hour to get our towel on the first day (Dec 27). Exchangin [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Great Experience
The resort has almost all the facilities you want. But I have to say; you have to ask about everything. The space is so spread-out that you won't know just about everything. beach area can be a distance depending on where you're staying. Other than that, food is good, but not if you're expecting fast food; this is not a fast food place and there're so many options even for vegetarians. I personally like the food, enjoyed it every day.
Melia Las Dunas: Do not recommend
I travel twice a year from montreal. We just came back yesterday from this hotel. Worst trip ever and worst travel company. 12h to get there and 12h to come back. This trip should take 5h if you include the flight and the bus to the hotel.
Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach!
I’ll keep this review relatively short. The room was very large, enough to fit a king size bed, a double bed, and a crib comfortably. The cleaning staff is amazing, but the room is dated and had lots of ants each day in the bathroom. Gardening staff was always ready to cut open a coconut to either drink or eat, and made 2 grasshoppers out of palm leaves to my sons’ delight! Nightly entertainment was great, especially the kid’s show at 8:30pm where all the kids in the audience get to danc [... read more]
