Barcelo Maya Palace: Excellent stay
We stayed at the Palace Deluxe and it seemed to be superior to the other 4 hotels in the complex. Of course it was the most expensiveness well. The grounds appeared more spacious and more grand. The a la carte restaurants were excellent. We did not try the restaurants in the other hotels and so I cannot say that they were definitely better. All the service staff were very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that the front desk staff did not seem as well trained as the service staff. On [... read more]
Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great family resort.
This is a resort for families with small children. Rooms are quite large, food is good, entertainment also good. It is a large property but very easy to navigate. There is a lazy river which was a hit with my six year old. The dolphin tank on the resort is fantastic. Do try and do a swim with the dolphins. It's amazing. The beach is rocky and protected by a couple of coves. Water is farely calm, reefs within 30 feet of the shore. Lots of marine life, turtles, stingrays. However very rocky, bring [... read more]
Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Offers a wonderful Mexican holiday
Hotel amenities are basic and simple, kept immaculately clean several times a day. Bicycles are rudimentary, kayaking disappointing as restricted swimming area, sailing cat only available for 1/2 hr with assigned skipper. Food very good (not fancy), but tons of fresh veggies, lots of fish, polo. Be prepared for lots of noise. Beach club located over hill in next village well worth the hike or shuttle.
Grand Riviera Princess: Just another resort
Expansive and well kept grounds. Nice 10-12 min walk from the beach to the main reception area. Shuttle every 15 min available. I would only recommend this resort with the Platinum upgrade which gives you accommodations near the beach which provides the following: server in assigned beach area, platinum lounge with snacks and better alcohol selections, free wifi in building and rooms and access to unlimited themed restaurants with reservations. The breakfast buffet is good while the lunch/dinner [... read more]
Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Fabulous Resort!
We stayed for 2 weeks from Feb. 5 - 19, 2015. This was my first trip to Mexico in 25 years but my girlfriend has been many times. To be quick, I'd come back in a heartbeat. The food was amazing. There are 7 ala carte restaurants, and we went to all of them. The Brazilian Rodizio is a must for meat eaters (and the only one you have to make a reservation for, which in our case had to be the next day). They slice the meat off these huge skewers right at your table, so go hungry and help yourself. [... read more]
Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Great resort
Beautiful resort with quick and efficient check in and out. Beach close by and very clean. Easy to use resort credits. The Spa is clean and staff are wonderful. Room service was fast and hot. I would definitely go back to this resort in a heartbeat.
Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Fantastic resort
This is a wonderful resort. The resort grounds were beautiful. The beach was wonderful (nice sand, clear water, nice waves, even we even fed some fish). Service was very good and the staff were all friendly. The food was great.
Las Palmas by the Sea: You get what you pay for!
Just came back from Las Palmas. Service staff are very friendly, except for the specialty restaurant. Nothing is 100%. Light bulbs in the fixtures of our room were of different wattage and light quality and output. The shower overflowed regularly. Food at the buffet was bland and not very interesting. Why not serve Mexican food? Had to ask for a salt and pepper shaker at every meal. The location is OK. At high tide the none-flooded beach area is negligible. The hotel seems to have been built in [... read more]
All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Nice resort
The Hotel is a bit older, no elevators just a lot of stairs not enough handrails. Extra charge for WiFi and Safty security box. Smal Beach with a Marina next Door. But directly on the water. Lots of activities around the Pool.
Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Book it!
My wife I and stayed at the Blue Diamond, Feb 12 to 19. We booked this resort after my wife visited it on another trip to Mexico in January. Book this resort if you want a totally stress free vacation - quiet, zen-like, amazing architecture and beautiful grounds, outstanding food. Everything is first class and first rate. The staff are helpful, friendly and you'll feel like they are part of your 'family' by the time you leave. Pro tip: No reservations required for the restaurants. Make use of [... read more]
Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Family Reunion at Grand Sirenis!!
when I first arrived I wasn't sure I was going to like this resort as it looks very different from all the other resorts I have been to but I am so glad to say that my opinion quickly changed. We were a group of 23 from all across Canada coming for a family reunion - we couldnt have asked for a better vacation spot - the resort is very large but once you learn your way around it makes all the difference. The staff were great to deal with - the rooms were spacious - grounds were clean - wildlife [... read more]
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Almost perfect
Everything, food, beach , room, service, drinks were great except for 2 issues. The first is the rooms that are facing the mangrove- it's smells of sewage at times. The second problem is shortage of umbrella on the beach and people leaving to towels to reserve the pool and beach chairs. The hideaway section (adults only) is way too crowded, more so than the family section.
Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Barcelo Maya Beach - Overall Good Hotel!
Overall the hotel was beautiful. An older hotel that seems to be doing their best to upgrade and keep up with the times. Always well kept grounds, very clean and generally appealing. Lots for everyone to do. We had an 11 year old that enjoyed finding seashells on the beach, splashing in the big pool, playing chess, basketball, paddle tennis, bowling and billiards and watching the dolphins. The water park and wave rider were also lots of fun for him. The water park was an additional cost, but we [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Not a 5
Resort was beautiful and had lots of things to do. However, the food was very mediocre - buffet food was cold, several burgers tried through the week and weren't cooked fully. Selection was very repetitive for each meal. Resort was clean and staff was friendly. If food was improved, resort would be a five star in our opinion. Would not return due to the food issue.
Playa Mazatlan: Location, Location, Location!
Playa Mazatlan is well kept and very clean. The location is perfect for people who like to walk a beach but also experience the culture. The Golden Zone of Mazatlan is just outside the gate to the resort. It is very safe to explore the area. We were comfortable catching pulmonias (open cabs) and the city bus. The staff at the resort and in the businesses around the resort are very polite and thankful for your business. Pricing of food, drinks, and other merchandise was economical. We were on an [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Tucan: Another great vacation
6th time to the Tucan/Quetzal and each time it seems a little better. An excellent resort to relax and the wildlife adds another dimension. Staff is always helpful and always seem to be smiling in their work
Beach Palace: Unbelievable Resort
This resort was beautiful, great service, awesome staff, clear water and great beach highly recommended for others, This was our honeymoon had room 304 and ocean view, awesome sunsets and sunrises, an un forgettable experience
Catalonia Playa Maroma: Much better than the reviews suggest!
This is a great hotel for families or couples that prioritize a quiet atmosphere, stunning beach, comfortable rooms and good food. The upgrade to Privilege is definitely worth it because you get access to more eating options, a nicer area of the beach with shaded umbrellas and priority rooms that are generally in better condition. The frozen drinks all had a syrup/chemical taste to them and bartenders definitely gave you a more generous pour if you tipped, but otherwise I had no complaints with [... read more]
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Spectacular!!
The resort was everything that I could have asked for and more! We purchased the unlimited Xcaret Package and it was worth every cent! We went to Xcaret every morning and explored a different area of the park before we hit the beach for 1030 am. The resort forgot a few things on check in - such as our towel cards, robes, coupon booklet etc - but the food and Xcaret Park made up for the small oversights that the resort made. I highly recommend this resort!
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent resort
Very clean and well maintained. Staff was so friendly and raised the bar for service. We couldn't have been treated better anywhere. We have travel throughout the Caribbean extensively and Grand Bahia has always been at the top of our choices. We will return.
