Riu Palace Las Americas: RIU sets the bar high

My husband and I went to the RIU Palace Las Americas from Jan 30-Feb 6/15 to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We wanted to go to a RIU resort as we had had our first experience with RIU on our honeymoon and were thoroughly impressed with the quality and high standards of service they provided. We were not disappointed this time either. The quality of the hotel, its facilities, service, staff, food and drinks were as excellent as we remembered. We only had 2 disappointments: 1) there isn't a long  [... read more]stretch of continuous beach to walk on at this resort and 2) our trip was marred by unbelievably obnoxious and ignorant people (just a handful - a loud, obnoxious handful). Of course that is nothing to do with the hotel. I was just surprised that that kind of behaviour went on at such a nice resort, and was allowed to go on. Otherwise, we would absolutely recommend the RIU brand and this resort in particular.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Great resort great staff great food

Everything is great except for the flintstone style bedrock beds. The staff gave us some foam to soften it which helped. Don't forget the sunscreen. They charge an arm and a leg on the resort The rooms are starting to show their age.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

This hotel is amazing allover like rooms, resturants, lobby ,the staff . Me and husband stayed there 7 days in first week of feburary . We enjoyed our stay . So i will recommend to my family and friends and we will go there again.

Riu Caribe Cancun: beautiful resort

the resort is very well kept. The rooms very clean, no issues at all. Food was very good, always a great selection. Staff was very friendly and helpful if you had questions. Beach was beautiful. Would go back to this resort again.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Home away from home

We are returning guests who first came to El Coz in 1996. We keep coming back because of the atmosphere which is welcoming and casual. The staff is always willing to help from the front desk down to the men raking the beach! As usual it was clean, the food was good and the piano player in the a la carte is not to be missed.(He was ancient 18 years ago) but still plays a mean Phantom.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Welcome to Paradise!

The Iberostar Playa Mita is overall an amazing resort-beautiful grounds, amenities, beachfront and pool area, fresh and delicious food, and great service. I would recommend this hotel for 40+ crowd, as its mainly an older crowd and may not be the type of venue young singles are looking for. Theres the convenience of wifi all over the resort. Theres a fun and very authentically Mexican town "Sayulita" 15 minutes away that is great for surfers/or just a fun excursion away from the resort. My one a [... read more]nd only complaint about the resort is that things were stolen from our room-nobody entered my or my sisters room besides the cleaning staff and my sister had money stolen and I had a pair of pants and some toiletries taken (they must have rifled through our things because the stolen items were put away in drawers). They gave my sister a complimentary massage at the spa to compensate for her stolen money, however nothing was done to replace my stolen items-they never even got back to me despite saying they would within 24 hours. I am very disapointed with the Iberostar in this regard and would caution anyone going to this resort to ensure to lock up all valuables and don't leave any items in the room that you would be upset if they were stolen.

Occidental Cozumel: Great resort to stay!

We travelled to many resorts over years Mexico(5 times)Dominican,cuba etc. This resort has best set up I have ever seen. It was recommended to us by agent Wendy Van Zandwyk(must say she was very professional and had all answers to our questions plus she stayed there before as well).You feel very safe staying at this resort. There is no outsiders allowed in on grounds. They have guard at front that shuttle has to check thru.They have safe in room. Rooms are super clean and good size. Bathroom too [... read more]. Seperate shower,tub,toilet... If you look at pics you will see they have pool,bars,pavillion etc all right at beach for daytime activities. The beach is great with sandbar.You always have a spot to find at pool or ocean in shade or sun no matter what time. No worries about getting up early to get towel on chairs to reserve..always plenty of chairs available.They also have towels right at pool as well. When ever you wanted drink or food the bars or buffett was right there. They also had bbq going for burgers and dogs thru day and desserts ice cream etc. all there at your fingertips. For sure the staff was great as well. They were polite, always wanting to service your needs. They had premium alcohol drinks as well. Pretty much everything winds down around 11pm...They have disco and pizza restaurant open later, but thats it. We like to enjoy all the daytime activities and relax all day. Go to around 11pm. then go crash in room and do it again tomorrow...lol. I would go back and stay here for sure. We did not do any snorkelling this time around. But is one of best spots to go.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great Resort!!!!

The hotel was amazing! The service staff was always readily available and went above and beyond! The food was also great(which you would never hear that from me from previous resorts) The only down fall that we saw was the hotel was lacking in entertainment of any kind! There was nothing going on even during the day to make you want to stay and not venture out, even the music at the adult pool was less than desirable! Other than that it was a great hotel.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Second visit

This was our second visit to Barcelo Resort, we will likely go there again next year as it has everything we require. Food choices, service and entertainment . The new mall and new restaurants were exellent. A great addition to what they already had.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Imperial let down

While the staff did their part to keep the common areas clean, that was the extent I witnessed as far as customer service. Maybe the fact I was staying as a single had a bearing on this, but ate all my meals mostly on the resort and had a waiter ask me about a drink only once. I got offered coffee once for breakfast during the entire week. Also the all-inclusive bracelet was only good until 11 pm for drinks at the bar. After that I was forced to pay, additionally though the package indicated roo [... read more]m service was included I was charged for it and only after a lengthy discussion was the charge removed. The same went for water as my mini bar was not open my first day and I had to take water from the "replenish stock" pile in the room and they tried to charge me for that. The food itself was bearable in taste but extremely generic, everything was meat in a sauce..all done in roasting pans. Mostly flavorless, and the line-ups for the griddle got huge because there was only a single cook top to service the entire restaurant..similar issues with the lobby bar, one single bartender to serve the entire crowd..10 minute waits at the bar for a drink. In short, will not recommend and will not return. Service poor, food acceptable but nothing to tall about. Biggest disappointment I could have imagined based off previous experience in mexico.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: The trip was great

The food was really good, we were so pleased we booked at the Royal. The hotel was very clean and the staff very professional and friendly. We ate at the buffet every nite, great selection of food. The beach area very small, be love a beach, but we still enjoyed it. The shopping was great,both downtown and at the plaza near where the cruiseships stop. Lots of jewellery stores. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort, great service, excellent food, clean rooms. The staff is always ready to help you with any of your needs. The only thing negative, the resort is very isolated and in my opinion the hotel should provide transportation for the different tows around, even for a fee, it gets extremely expensive to take a taxi to go anywhere. Besides that EXCELLENT!

Crown Paradise Club: Amazing family resort!

We stayed at crown paradise club february 1-8, 2015. This resort is amazing! Not too big, not too small! We travelled with our 4 year old daughter and another family with 3 children. The buffet is great! Something for everyone and a special childrens buffet area so they can serve themselves. The beach snack bar we all enjoyed they serve hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, fried fish, calamari, ice cream etc. Our children loved the infinity pool probably because it was the warmest. I read that in a review before we left so o brought my daughters pillow from home, if you have small children I suggest you do the same. The wi fi is spotty and doesn't work all the time. If you do get wi fi do not throw out the card with the password or take a picture of it. We threw ours out and it asked for our password the next day which we did not have so we had to buy another card:( We stayed on the 4 th floor the rooms were nice and recently renovated. We heard the lower floors have not been renovated yet so keep that in mind when booking. There is a Walmart and a supermarket very close by. Beware there are people trying to sell time shares at the supermarket who are pretty aggressive. Bring lots of sunscrean they charge $25.00 a bottle there. There is no mini fridge or coffee maker in the room. We bought water from Walmart and kept it in the room. If you like your coffee bring a coffee press and grounds to make your own on the room. The kids pool is VERY slippery!! Our daughter wiped out at least 5 times. It's pretty dangerous. There are no bath tubs in the rooms just a shower which was fine for us. The TV mostly has Spanish stations so download shows and movies on your tablet if you can. Tip the bartenders and you will get amazing service! I highly recommend adventuras park! It was awesome! Lots to do! All and all an amazing resort! We are already planning to go there next year!

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Excellence all the way

From check in to check out this place is amazing. The service the cleanliness the food the rooms the shows. Everything at EPM is 100% excellent . Have been to this resort 5 times now and will be back again and again . BIG shout out to Gerrardo at spice. Best waiter in the world !!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Overall, a good resort

Hotel and food good. Service at steak restaurant needs improvement. The waiter was not very good, plus steak was not cooked properly. We found the resort too spread out. For example the beach area is a long way from the Gardenview area.

Villa Del Palmar Cancun: Wonderful, quiet resort. Great food and drink.

If you are looking for a resort that's a wild party, this isn't the spot. It is quiet and relatively small with amazing views, great food and drink, wonderful pools and fantastic rooms. There isn't even a swim up bar, which we actually found to be a good thing as there was less sloppy partying going on at the pool than what you typically see at an all inclusive. Drinks are easily attainable with quick poolside service and many nearby bars, but you don't see the groups lingering all day at the sw [... read more]im up bar and drinking excessively. Beach swimming isn't great (though the beach itself is very nice) but the pools make up for it. The staff don't necessarily go out of their way to make you feel like a king or queen, but they are friendly enough. We stayed in a one bedroom ocean view suite and the added cost is most definitely worth it. A massive balcony is included with a hammock which we used daily. The resort is kid friendly, though not overrun with children. There are adult only areas and pools if you really want to avoid kids. We traveled with our 8 month old son and the resort staff were very accommodating, providing a crib with appropriate bedding on arrival and sterilized high chair with tray at each restaurant we attended. Our room included a full kitchen, washer and dryer which is a huge plus for anyone travelling with kids. Food quality was very good - we particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and Steak House. Breakfast buffet was good, we did not attend the dinner buffet as the 'a la carte' restaurants can be attended for every dinner with reservations (we typically made them same day with no issue). We would highly recommend this resort and will attend again.

Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: An amazing resort!

Everything from the location of the hotel to the staff the food the grounds everything was amazing. They know how to take care of you in PV, Mexico. This was my second time staying at the Sheraton in PV and it will not be my last.

El Cid Resort Castilla: good resort

Resort was very clean. Pools were great. Great beaches but a bit crowded for me. Very easy and economical for money exchange both pesos and US funds.Food was fresh but boring. ( I cooked for a living so tend to be picky, yet I ate all that was offered). Entertainment was good. My only true complaint was the location. I prefer a more secluded vacation, however, saying that, if you don't mind the city atmosphere then this location is fine. That was just personal taste.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Best ever

Nice clean modern rooms. All the staff were friendly and beyond curtious. The food was the best. Unbelievable variety. Will be back next year. We had taxi and buses right outside resort. Lots of thinks to do and a nearby river lagoon walkway park. Also nightly entertainment was fun yet things got quiet at 11th so made for a good nights sleep.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Excellent resort

Great service staff was very friendly and efficient really felt they bent over backwards to provide a great vacation.Clean and well run food was awesome the only negative was there are no balconies on the standard rooms
