Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful second vacation at this resort
The beach is the most important part for us and at this resort the beach is incredible. The food is the same each day and if the food is your thing you might be disappointed a bit, though I heard that at this hotel the food was really nice in comparison to other resorts. The staff was friendly and helpful! If you're worried about covid - everything is clean with sanitizers close by if you wish to use it, all the staff is wearing masks. Don't forget to bring some presents for Cuban people - medic[... read more]ine is in high demand during covid times - Tylenol, Advil.

Melia Cayo Coco: Relaxing vacation
Resort was well kept, except for the seaweeds on the beach, they were only removed the day we left, so we had to look at them all week. It was probably worse then usual due to storm that passed through days before we arrived.
Staff was extremely vigilant with hand sanitizing.
Upon arrival we were tested for Covid at airport, that was time consuming. Very short ride to resort. Check in was smooth. I’m a celiac so I met with someone from guest services who brought me to dining room to meet the[... read more] chef. He proceeded to tell me what was safe and what wasn’t. Chef’s knowledge of celiacs disease was limited, he didn’t seem to understand cross contamination. The cook in the one a la carte we went to was much better and ensured I had a safe meal. We stayed in a lagoon room, wasn’t worth the money in august, as it was way too hot to enjoy the balcony. There were no mosquitos.
The biggest problem we had was money. We did a lot of research and spoke to people that had been recently. Even the web page quotes prices in US dollars ($30 pp US for Covid test to return), so we brought American money, which in previous years was not accepted but things are changing. I also had some left over CUC that I wanted to give away ( nobody wanted it, even though the time to use it was extended) finally found someone that took it. So getting back to the US money. The hotel would not accept it for anything. They wanted credit card payments for everything. As do government shops. We used the US money for tipping and came home with lots left over. So be prepared to use your plastic ( something we’ve never done in Cuba in the past)
All in all it was a relaxing week. First time going to Cuba in the summer and I found it very hot, but it was even hotter at home lol. Nice breeze at the beach all the time.
Not sure I’d return to that part of Cuba!

Melia Cayo Coco: I can't say enough good things about this resort. Must go again!!
It was our first travel experience during covid (also our first time going to Cuba) and I had many questions regarding the hotel, covid protocols, country entry requirements, etc. so I decided to email the resort directly. Gippsy (Sales Manager at Melia Cayo Coco) was very helpful and answered all my questions. The resort was quieter than I’m used to at all-include resorts (due to people not travelling yet because of covid) but I found it very relaxing and welcoming. Because the hotel was not [... read more]at full capacity, we got to know quite a bit of the staff that worked there and they always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Thank you to Jorge for making sure we had our usual drinks even before we even sat down to eat our meals, to the garden men (Rahal, Felipe, and Joel) that would come find us at the beach for our daily dose of fresh coconuts, Joel for introducing us to his drink called the “Joel Special†and for hosting our private billiards night, Alberto for our daily chats and organizing our snorkeling trip out at the reef near the resort, all the dancers for providing such fun entertainment (I have never had so much fun dancing in my life!), Emilio for always making sure there was a bottle of water for us every morning, all the servers (so many to name but especially to Yulia, Idolina, Jesus) for being so kind and attentive to our requests. During our stay at the resort, we felt very safe! Staff were always masked (most times even double-masked plus a face shield) and they were always sanitizing their hands. We constantly saw the high-touch areas (doorknobs, faucets, light switches, etc.) being disinfected as well. Guests were required to wear masks in all indoor areas (unless actively eating or drinking) which was very well enforced by the staff. For example, when walking up to the buffet area, guests would not be served unless they were wearing masks! Regarding the buffet, the staff would fill up your plate which is so important in reducing guest exposure. I can not say enough good things about this resort and how well they have adapted to covid. Thank you again to all the staff at the resort for making our experience amazing!

Melia Cayo Coco: Resort did not disappoint
First time back to a resort in a long time. Recommended by a friend and the resort was everything they claimed it would be. As we stepped off the shuttle we were welcomed to a drink and the Manager personally welcomed us back to Cuba. This may have been special as we were the first Canadian group back to the resort since the lockdown. The resort is very picturesque. The photos on the website are a true representation of what the resort looks like but until you see it in person it isn't the [... read more]same. The most valuable asset of the resort are of course the staff. They make you feel like family almost immediately. I highly recommend the resort if you're looking to relax and recharge. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Covid Cautious
Travelled to the Memories Caribe in the month of July 2021. The staff were excellent but show outward signs of being very fearful of Covid. They follow safety protocols which I found to be comforting but what you are not told is that most of the tourists at this resort are made up of Russians who have not been vaccinated. They do not abide or follow any Covid safety measures. If this is a problem for you I suggest you stay home. Food is good but not fancy. If you are a wine lover I suggest you [... read more]bring your own. Room was adequate and clean. Beach is one of the best in the Caribbean! Cuba never disappoints in that area. Overall I loved this resort for its quaint size and very friendly staff. I would definitely return.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great as Always
This hotel I’ve been traveling to since 2002 about 25-30 times. I’ve never had a complaint. I’ve travelled to hotels across Cuba. And this has always been my favorite. And this trip was no different. A few items were limited but the staff went out of there way to make everything wonderful. The food was the as good as ever I’ve had anywhere in Cuba. They were going out of there way to make sure everything was staying spotlessly clean. Even in these trying times I would still highly recomm[... read more]end this location.

I was there from July 24-31st and I highly recommend this place. from the main lobby to the restaurant, to the buffet and snack bars, to the djs and entertainment, the cleaning staff, the staff were incredible hosts. they went above and beyond my expectations, and i give them a 10/10. Alberto is kind and generous. Ernesto from Grand Caribe was total gentleman and invited me to enjoy a day of fun at another great hotel. I feel blessed to have enjoyed the Grand Muthu family.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort, wonderful time!
Staff of the resort did a great job, they are ready for guests, new season, new life after COVID. The resort is very green, beautiful beach- one of the best in Cuba. Our room was very clean, recently renovated. La carte was working a little bit slower, we tried International and Mediterranean, but the buffet was great, so didn't go to check another ones. All associates were working hard to make our vacation enjoyable and unforgettable.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent Service and Wonderful Beach, some dodgey anti-COVID measures
I spent 2 weeks here.
Pros: - For the most part, the service I received from staff was excellent. I would give them 4.5/5 on service.
- The beach is the best one I have visited in Cuba. The water is very shallow, so you have to walk out quite a ways to reach swimming depth, but I didn't need my water shoes because there were no sharp shells or broken coral to step on.
- The accommodations were adequately cleaned.
- The resort is only 20 minutes from the airport.
Cons: - Some of the acc[... read more]ommodations are very run down. The first room I was in did not have a deadbolt. I switched rooms (just across the hall) for the second week, and the room was much better. I would rate the rooms I saw as 2.5/5
- There is a fridge in every room, but they will not put beverages in it unless you pay the extra daily "Diamond Club" fee. They will still give you a 1 litre bottle of water every day.
- There was often confusion as to whether the buffet would be open at dinner time, or if it was mandatory to make a reservation at an a la carte for dinner. Sometimes the resort would make that decision at the last minute.
- none of the rooms have bug screens on the balcony doors.
anti-COVID Measures: Some appeared to be effective, while others were not.
- Masks were only mandatory (even indoors) until your COVID test results are received after about 24 hours. So you are staying at a resort with unmasked guests, many of whom are not distancing at all from others.
- All of the staff wore their masks appropriately at all times.
- At the buffet, there are yellow lines on the floor that guests are not supposed to cross, and staff are supposed to handle all of the plates and serve up the food. The yellow lines create bottlenecks so that there is often no choice but to pass very close to other guests while indoors. I even had several guests touch me and brush up against me in the buffet. I also saw several guests touch the stacks of plates.
- There are hand sanitizer stations all over the resort, but only about half of them work. The one outside the dinner reservations office in the lobby stopped functioning by the second week of my stay. I reported the problem multiple times, but the dispenser was never fixed or replaced. This is the door that every guest was forced to touch at least once per day, and there was no nearby functioning dispenser to clean your hands before or after.
- There are no hand sanitizer dispensers inside the buffet building. So you sanitize your hands before going in, but then you have to touch the door to pull it open, and many, many guests did not clean their hands before touching it. There are no dispensers inside to clean your hands before receiving or eating a plate of food. Fortunately, I had a small bottle of sanitzer with me that I started bringing to meals so I could clean my hands before touching my food.
- None of the tables were 6 feet apart. The resort was at much lower occupancy, which should have allowed for proper distancing during meals. However, the resort closed off half of the buffet seating area, forcing us all to squish into one side. At the a la cartes, it depended on how many people had reservations at the same time as you. Sometimes there was an empty table between myself and the nearest guest, sometimes I was within 2 or 3 feet of someone else.
- On the bus ride to the resort (so this would be a problem regardless of which resort you are at): They are still running a side business of selling beer. Then the conductor/guide comes on the microphone and starts asking people if they are happy to be in Cuba, and when we
don't respond loudly enough, they say "come on, I can't hear you..." and everyone starts yelling and cheering. I was extremely uncomfortable being in an enclosed, crowded (almost every seat was occupied) space, with yelling people who were not wearing masks because they were drinking beer. I would recommend buying the private transfers if they are available for your trip, as the bus transfer has pretty much zero COVID safety measures.
- At the airport on departure: It was standing room only in the terminal, and you are stuck there for 2 hours or more waiting for your plane with strangers, many of whom are choosing not to wear their masks until they get on the plane, and many of whom choose to sit or stand right next to you because the terminal is so crowded. There is a hand sanitzer station outside the airport, but there are none inside the building.

Hotel Mojito: Relaxed fun with great service!
If vacation means quiet relaxing, enjoying the pool or beach and meeting fun people - you will enjoy the Iberostar Mojito. This is an older hotel - but well maintained. Staff are amazing and will gladly go out of their way to help you no matter what your needs. Food service is not fancy - with several options - but I prefer the buffet - always something delicious there. Food is available 24 hours a day except in low season - drinks are always available in a variety of locations.
The Moji[... read more]to may not be the fanciest or most up to date hotel in Caya Coco - but if you want to relax - meet great people and enjoy beautiful Cuba - you may find the price and this hotel is just for you.

Melia Costa Rey: Consistently great service at Pullman's
A shout out to the great team at Pullman.
My apologies in submitting this review so late. Been really caught up with work and this damn COVID-19.
My daughter and I visited Pullman between Feb 15 and 22, 2020. This was our third visit here. We arrived at around 11.30 a.m and were told the room will be available at 3 pm (the normal check-in time). We were surprised to get the room by 2 p.m. That was fantastic!
First contact was with the customer service staff (Aileen) who helped resolve the [... read more]two issues with the room (safe needed new batteries and the sink was not draining). Also, a change from prior visits was that we were pre-booked for the specialty restaurants. Awesome!
The reason we keep going back to Pullman is because of the Entertainment Team and the Lobby Bar staff.
A special thank you to Gene-in-a-bottle, Betty, Chocolate, Baby Junior, Richard, Yunet, Mia, Mary, The Twins and Juris (with a Y)! A special thank you to Adrian greeting us everyday and spending time chatting with us. The team helped Anushka with her Spanish lessons as well!
The staff at the Bar, despite being super busy on most days, took care to remember our orders. A big thanks to Edgar, Adl, Ricardo, Roberto and Nelson. And thanks to Miry at the Pool Bar who made sure she had tomato juice available for my BM!
It would be remiss of me not thank Alexander and the 'singing lady' at El Carey.
If I have missed anybody, my apologies for not remembering your names. Thank you!
I must say that the nightly entertainment at the Theatre is by far the best I have seen across resorts in the Caribbean. An absolute treat.
Thank you to the team at Pullman. You Rock! Keep up the great work and hope to see you in Sept/Oct 2020 once COVID goes away!!
Best Regards,
Raja and Anushka

Melia Cayo Coco: Very quiet resort
The hotel was kept very clean . The staff was very friendly. The rooms were dated and our maid was great, but we had no air conditioning in our room! Some of the bars open in the late afternoon and the piano bar wasn't open at all. The food was just good, but ok for cuban resorts. The beach was very nice. The resort was relaxing but just too quiet and filled with mainly older people.
