Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great resort!

We stayed at the Aquamarine last week for 7 nights and were very impressed. The resort is huge but we found it easy to walk around or use the frequent shuttles. The food and service were very good. The Aquamarine had a dedicated beach section that was also adults only which made finding chairs and relaxing very easy. Beachside bar service was good with ready access to the beach grill and washrooms. The main pool was huge with three sections that allowed you to rest quietly or participate in the  [... read more]many planned activities. Nightly entertainment was good plus you could go to the other parts of the complex to view other entertainment. Overall a great resort that I would definately return to in the future.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort

Very nice resort with lots of entertainment and great ela cartes. I recommend Brazilian and gardin grill. Love how close it was to the beach. Rooms are clean but need a small update. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Quieter area of a bigger resort

First opinion when arriving was, this resort was too small and looking tired, and along with issues getting restaurant bookings (they were all booked up), we would have given the rating 3 out of 5. But as the week went on, we realized what a great resort this is. Apart from booking a la carte, we had no issues. Pro's, great, very helpful staff. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great trip!

We just got back from our 10 day vacation at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum. Gorgeous resort, well maintained property, lots of wildlife to observe, but the resort itself is rather large and would not recommend for those with mobility issues. Close to the beach which is a big plus but downside to the beach is the large sandbags to prevent big tides, they are a bit of an eye sore and also prevent you from swimming out very far. Biggest downfall to this resort is that the latest the bar is open is 11pm, you can take the transportation carts over to Coba which has a bar open till 1am. The resort itself has lots of shopping options with the two lobby gift shops and jewelry store as well as a bunch of vendor shops down at La Hacienda at the entrance of the resort which is a short 5 minute walk from the lobby, or you can catch one odd the transportation carts if you are unable to walk. Overall, it was a great trip and dont have many complaints regarding our stay :)

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort.

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. We were very happy to have been given a larger room on our return visit. We were travelling with a large group and had asked to be in the same building and on the same floor. We were happy that these two requests were granted. Very good food, amazing beach, clean and well maintained resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing place

Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal in Riviera Maya is a beautiful place to be. We can't ask for better services from the staff and the room are exquisite. Restaurant are great but some menus could be updated with a little more variation. This is our 3rd time around and it hasn't disappointed us at all.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Awesome Again

This is our second year in a row at this resort. Everything was great, with the exception of a few cranky staff members. Most of the staff are pleasant and very helpful, but some seemed unhappy to be there.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Girls Trip

What an amazing resort! The beach is stunning and kept very clean if seaweed. The property and pool areas are beautiful, service and food were beyond excellent. Felt very safe and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely go back and recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Bahia Principe

We really enjoyed our time at the Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay Jamaica. The staff were friendly, food was good, resort was clean, lots of pool area and chairs. The beach was not as good but this you can't exactly control, was rocky not as sandy as I would have liked. The restaurants were all very good. The shops were nice to for any essentials you may have needed or souvenirs. My only negative would be if you needed something to your room for eg. more towels of coffee then you would wait quite  [... read more]a while. I would go back again!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Best resort I've been too!

The beach is amazing cause you can go snorkeling right off the one beach (there are 2 separate beaches), The food is amazing and the menu changes every night, employees were so friendly and my kids LOVED the pool and kids water park! The only downside is that it's not stroller friendly and the resort is so big that it takes a bit to get to place to place but other then that my family loved it there! Definitely going back!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Lovely stay

The food and service at this resort was excellent. The grounds were very well kept and it was a beautiful resort There was also a very nice children's area both at the beach and in the hotel. Although the resort was huge there were continual shuttles going to all the other Bahia hotels on the property. All of the service personnel were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The beach was unfortunately very small and limited in terms of swimming. Two members of our group had rooms that were very d [... read more]amp and mildewed. The air conditioning did not seem to function well. We would stay again but would request a room where the air conditioning worked well!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very nice resort!

The hotel rooms were comfortable and spacious. The beach was beautiful, you could take long walks in both directions, palm trees giving you shade. The drawback was that the part of the beach in front of the resort was very crowded. Regarding dining - there was always a great selection of nice dishes to choose from. As far as excursions from the resort I took one to the National Park. The places we saw were beautiful but the lunch we got during the excursion was horrible . I had never ever se [... read more]en anything like this. Luckily a friend of mine who had taken that trip before advised me to take some food with me, otherwise I would be starving . There was just rice and noodles , some raw cabbage and tiny pieces of chicken back bones. Hopefully that will change as I complained to the Air Canada Vacations representative , but it is hard to tell.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful resort

This resort is beautiful. The lobby and grounds and landscaping is the reason I can say that. The food is the best part of this resort. So if great food is on the top of your list for vacations this is the place! The rooms are ordinary. Nothing great. And the sand is not powdery soft if that's important to you. The people were absolutely lovely and respectful and kind. We were introduced to our "butler" on day one Armando I believe his name was, who said he would be there for anything we needed, however we asked him for help wt needed, he didn't do it, later in the week another thing we asked help with, with the usual I'll get it done reply and didn't do it again. Either there are too few butlers and he's spread thin or just isn't great at his job. Not sure. Not impressed by this part of the service of this "luxury" resort. Been to other luxury resorts in the past that outshine this one in this respect of service. Overall wt enjoyed our stay. And would recommend this resort to others. BC of the beach not sure if we will be back.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing resort

Wonderful grounds, very nice kept, clean and stuff very profesional, and helpful. Food excellent, very fresh and well prepared. specially fruits always fresh and plenty to chose from. Restaurants re very good specially the brasilian one was amazing.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Bahia Principe La Romana

Great Staff, enjoyed the food and location! Smaller than most Bahia resorts, just the way I like it. Most of the large hotels fail to focus on your needs but NOT here, guest service was outstanding. Currently the JR suites are very dated (hot water issue) however they are in the process of upgrading them. Never the less we plan on returning in September 2020.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Value family resort -- good balance of quality for the price

Back from a second visit (previous is 4 weeks ago. This time much better and I can confirm Villa 31 is probably the best to stay (see below) - next to pool, next to the main lobby/restaurant, next to the shuttle, and very close to Gym & Theater. This time came for longer (9 days) and had time really to enjoy it and having rented a car was the best decision so you can immerse in the local environment. Suggestion: Please rent a car if you are planning for day-trips like Chichen-Itza, Coba, and Tulum. If rented for a week, this totally offsets the costs of trips. Went multiple times to PDC (Playa del Carmen), Tulum, Cancun beaches, and revisited Coba and Chichen-Itza. That said the hotel continues to surprise me: just before I left it came to my attention that that I can't do foreign exchange at the reception, even though rates are posted. This being 5* rated hotel is simply wrong.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Fantastic stay

Our room was awesome, spacious and clean and a lovely view of the pool. The hotel is very quiet, at 10:30 pm they stop the entertainment at the main lobby, good for those that want the quiet and to relax in the evening. Only downside of the room was the mattresses are very hard and take a bit getting used to. We enjoyed the nightly shows in our own lobby. This is a huge resort with many amenities. We were in the adults only section as that was our preference. There are frequent shuttles to where [... read more]ver you want to go within the resort. The only downside we found was that as newcomers to this resort coming back from one of the others was a bit challenging as the shuttles do not always pick you up in the same place you were dropped off. Even after finding the right location to get one, they do not announce stops, so find a landmark as all the buildings tend to look the exact same and we missed our stop on a few occasions. The beach is a bit of a trek if you choose to walk and I was surprised at how small the beach actually was. This I heard was more due to weather related conditions than a fault of the resort itself. Personally, I prefer the pool anyways. Always action there and they have plenty of chairs, umbrellas and such. I would recommend a trip to the Spa. It was an hour of pure heaven and their luxury pools were an added bonus. Kudos to the onsite Doctor, she was amazing when I had to see her due to a minor accident I had while there. Shout out to Carlos Mercedes who was the most accommodating of all the hotel staff. While there they will try to get you to go for a tour of the Amber and what we thought was a 20 min tour turned out to be over an hour and a half. To save you the time, the time share they are trying to sell you, while a good deal, still costs $ 24k American. Had we of known that ahead of time we would not have bothered. The only other thing I found was not all the staff are as friendly as what we are used to from visiting Cuba so many times. Perhaps it is simply a language barrier, who knows.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Fantastic Resort

BP Luxury Samana, is a wonderful Adults only resort. The buffet & a la carts were great. The service was all top notch. The staff were wonderful & accomadating. Would not hesitate to recommend or return.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful

ALL was amazing!!! From the beginning check in to room, to our first buffet All the a LA cartes Everything was perfect. The staff throughout the resort were so very kind especially Yanna Tania and Santa.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: It was a great vacation

The resort is very big, but it and our room and the public areas were beautiful and sparkling clean. I did not see a single plastic straw the whole time I was there, and the hotel is to be commended in using washable plastic glasses in the pool areas. It was great to see this really positive effort to reduce the use of single-use plastics. We are two seniors - not good walkers - but the buggies that patrolled the pathways were frequent enough to be a real help to us. I think because the Bahia Principe Tulum was not close to any major city, and because there was a lot of security people around the hotel there were no incidents and I felt perfectly safe. The food was excellent, the pool areas beautiful, the beach everything one could hope for in a Caribbean setting - and the pelicans diving for their food endlessly entertaining.
