Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful landscaped resort

Arriving at the resort the lobby was beautiful, bright and clean. Check in with the front desk staff was a bit confusing, they didn't seem to be well trained in hotel reception. We were suprise to be charged $20.00 for the use of our room safe and to be told if we loose our all inclusive bracelet there would be a charge of $200.00 for replacement. Our room was nicely decorated and clean with a lovely balcony overlooking mature palms. All the pools and grounds were beautiful. Food was just okay b [... read more]ut the servers in most of thre restaurants were polite and attentive. The beach was a bit short and the ocean had a lot of seaweed, but still beautiful. We had a wonderful week relaxing in the sun but we will choose another resort next holiday in the D.R..

Paradise Playa Dorada: Beautiful resort!

Adults only area was great, your own pool, your own beach, your own bar and restaurant. The service was great with friendly staff. Rooms were always taken care of, always had enough towels. Great place to relax and enjoy the weather.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very nice resort

Excellent buffet and alacarts,Free wifi unreliable, none of the bikes worked, beach towels not always available, very friendly staff, felt safe, vendors on beach constantly asking you to buy but they respect when you say no thanks, beautiful beach, I would definitely go there again!

Paradise Playa Dorada: Tranquility in Grand Paradise

This resort is very tranquil. Our upgrade to the Select Club made our trip more memorable. The location of our clean and adequate room to the pool and ocean was very convenient. The selection of buffet items was very plentiful and selective. The drinks were well prepared and the beach towel availability with no issue was a bonus. The beach chairs and a wide selection of umbrellas was also a perk. The lack of a la cartes restaurants was not an issue as the Select club meal and drink variations  [... read more]made up for it. The friendly staff and well kept grounds was also nice. The close proximity to the airport was very convenient.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great well run resort

The beach is not great if that is high on your wish list. The pool area was very nice with lots of shade available if you get up at 5am. Yes it is one of those places. Nothing like getting up at 530am just to get a couple seats around the pool. The food was very good as good as any inclusive place I have visited under $2000 per. Drinks were good as was the bar service. The weather was fantastic for our week which is very important. Also one of my friends had a cane and got around the place easily but needed a ground floor room.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great value resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean, friendly staff, great pool but showing it’s age. Best food we had at a resort. Lots of variety. Great entertainment. Would of preferred more live music in square for dancing.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Honest and Realstic Review

Grounds - absolutely gorgeous, very modern, sleek, white, clean. Landscape was well kept and it’s obvious to be a new resort with no repairs needed, however some amenities are still in construction. Public areas - well mainted with etiquette seating and cleaned frequently by staff. There is a lovely walkway up to a pavilion that looks over the resort and the port for cruise ships - we enjoyed watching the sunrise from here and observing the cruise ships coming in. Rooms - very simple a [... read more]nd traditional, as you would have at any Caribbean resort. Cleaned on a daily basis, fridges and toiletries stocked daily. There is a safe in the room and a complimentary bottle of whiskey on your first day. Beds are very comfortable and towels are nice and soft! Dining - Buffet has many selections with something for everyone, fresh fruit and vegetables also available. Snack Bar and Sports Bar have classic “pub food” that you can order to your table. There were only 2/4 a la carte restaurants available during our stay. The Steak House was PHENOMENAL with delicious food, service and atmosphere. Specific shoutout to Edwin and Amaurys C who were doing an incredible job. The IItalian Restaurant was disappointing as the service was very poor and slow and unfortunately multiple parties had walked away from their tables after not being served anything after the first hour wait. The ice cream shop, pizza shop and cafe were all very nice additions for a quick treat almost any time during the day. Beverages - good quality soda and juices used, bottled water used all around the resort, beverage were all classic and tasted yummy. I believe some of the liquors were watered down however I couldn’t prove that but other guests could. A pretty big downfall was how the pool bar would very often run out of products, at one point during our stay the pool bar ran out of white wine, vodka, tequila, white rum, ice and straws. (Other bars were equipped with this so not sure if it was the staff being told to not re stock or what the deal was) Features - this resort lacks in any extra activities for guests to enjoy, they did not have nightly shows or kids activities or water sports. There was a yoga class in the morning or something small happening around the pool but you were never really notified so by the time it was happening it was already over. With that being said, the resort next door you have full access to and they do offer all of these amenities for guests... so if you are in to that, you can go for a walk over at any point. Service - I have probably been to approx. 20 all inclusive resorts in my life time and have never received such slow service. Getting a drink at the bar was so incredibly hard with no one really wanting to take your order or even look at you. It didn’t matter if you had a tip in your hand or a big smile on your face. All bartenders were moving at a very slow pace and I would say that a drink would take anywhere from 5 minutes - 15 minutes to get. (No dramatic affect added here) and if you tried getting a big order it was considered an inconvenience for most bartenders.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful and clean resort

The resort is recently updated and still going through some renovations, not everything is open yet but you access to the resorts beside it as well so there are plenty of activites and food options. The senator is very clean, there is always a bathroom attendant constantly cleaning, floors are always mopped, probably one the cleanest resorts I've been to. Reception was a little slow to check in when we arrived but we were greeted with drinks and everyone was very pleasant. Sports bar serves drin [... read more]ks and food all night, the chicken strips were so good! Gustavo was amazing, always super helpful and attended to whatever we needed! Melvin and Julio make great drinks. There is nightly entertainment of some sort every night, not always a show but you can go next door for a nightly show, it's only a 2 minute walk away. You can also walk over to Amber cove to a little market and watch the cruise ships come and go. Service can be a little slow at times but they are working on it as they are still fairly new. All in all, no real complaints about the resort or staff.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good resort for the price

The resort was beautiful but very big and a lot of stairs. There wasn’t much of a beach. We like the pool so it didn’t bother us. The standard rooms are ok. Clean. The only issue was sometimes we didn’t have hot water and ac quit working. They were fast to fix. Upgrade if you can. If your not picky and don’t mind making a quick call. Then it’s fine.

Playabachata Hotel: Playabachata Resort

Staff great, food excellent, internet terrible ,room fine, grounds fine to many people that smoked. Poor service from Sunwing. Did not explain all the rules at what wr could do at the main Hotel of the 3. 7hour delay leaving with no explaination The one rep. Alexis was very helpful when there.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great relaxing resort

Our group of four enjoyed our stay at Sunscape very much. The staff were so friendly and courteous, especially the bar staff, not once did they not have a smile. We liked not having to make reservations for the ala cart restaurants, there is a perfect place to have a drink in the lovely DR breeze and grab a great slice of thin crust pizza while we waited for our buzzer to let us know our table was ready. We enjoyed all the food venues, beach lunch was very simple but good. Buffet was very good  [... read more]with plenty of selection, it could use a bit of a spruce up. Rooms were basic, but clean with nice white linens and towels. One down for me, was the amount of smokers all over the resort, it did have no smoking places, but it seemed to flow all around, but I'm sensitive to smoke, smokers would be happy! Nice entry to the pool on the one side with gradual slope, and deeper on the other side. Beautiful beach, that was so nice to walk for miles, water entry very sandy, easy to get in and out. We enjoyed the nightly troupe of entertainers, that worked their hearts out with a 30- 45 minute show to watch after our dinner. All and all we had a very nice vacation.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Fantastic!

As this was our third time in the last 4 years we will be going back next year. Beech is great, staff is fantastic, plenty of food to eat with different types for all taste, the entertainment crew is great there is always something going on if you want to join in or you can just relax. Place is clean and staff is always ready to help with anything you may require.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort.

First time at this resort but we felt comfortable as soon as we checked in. The grounds and the outside facilities were well maintained. The staff were friendly and accommodating. One area of weakness was in the buffet restaurant where the staff often had difficulty in keeping up with the demand for dishes, glasses and cutlery. Overall we enjoyed the resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Blue Bay Villas

I spent a week at this resort and the pluses: staff tried to be as helpful as they could be, lovely beach, spacious clean rooms, delicious buffet with lots of variety daily. Other restaurants were also very nice, great staff and food, nice break from buffet. I couldn't book the grill, and never did find out where that restaurant was situated, but the Chinese and seafood restaurants both a treat.(although if the staff is enforcing no shorts for men, it would be a plus to also enforce NO HATS!!) C [... read more]lose proximity to airport a plus. Things that need improvement: Wifi not available anywhere without paying. Other resorts along this area all had free wifi in lobbies and in rooms. In 2019 not acceptable to at least have free wifi in lobby. Periodic times with no hot water in shower, 2 mornings in a row. Phone in room didn't work. I reported it, and 4 days later still not fixed, when I needed it to report a violent, drunk patron banging on the next door, I could not contact front desk to dispatch security to area. Beach chairs had to be reserved by 7am to get 6 together, although sign said not to keep chairs when not on beach, you had to save a few before breakfast, as there were not enough for most mornings on the beach. A 3 star overall.

this resort was Amazing! the workers Are so nice and friendly! I drinks were Super tasty And there were always activities around the pool. the food was to die For, it was so amazing. I never Got sick once, and I Tried new food. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat!

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: The best hotel we have stayed at !

Exceptionally well managed;very clean;staff very friendly.Three a-la-carte restaurants-not needed,because the food in the open dining area is exceptional.Gained three pounds in one week!The beach is beautiful,but not good for swimming.Waves are big and there is an undertow,Pool is nice,but chairs are all claimed very early in the day.All the tours are horribly over priced.There is a clear need for reasonably priced short trips.Castilles Mundo is a must see-but 50 US was far too much!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Good resort

Although an older resort the upkeep seemed really good could stand to do more events for the guests wasn't much to see after 11 o'clock grounds were keep good and workers seemed friendly and wanted to help you

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Would not book this hotel

Have been to a lot of hotels in Puerto Plata and reading the reviews on Blue Bay we were quite comfortable in booking this hotel. However we would not return to Blue Bay Villas Doradas. This hotel is worn out completely with having no hot water for four days (no water at all one day), safety deposit box not working, phone not working, bathroom door not opening all the way, tub wouldn't drain, broken tiles everywhere you see all around this resort. This resort is noisy also....especially around t [... read more]he pool and sadly the way the buildings are laid out you can't escape the noise it seems. We did manage to get moved the second day of arrival but only to be put down next to a hotel being built next to the building where we were moved to. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place to go. Now the good things.... the food was very good with friendly staff in the dining buffet. We visited two other specialty restaurants onside and they were good also. Staff on the whole was friendly and they do try.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: You want to go here!

The Viva V Heavens was the most amazing 7 days my husband and I have ever had at an all inclusive! We only ever book adults only resorts and this one is our new favorite! The resort itself is the most beautiful boutique style resort I've been to, it was extremely clean. The grounds surrounding the resort had to be one of my favorite features as you truely felt like you were in the jungle.
