Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: I Star esmeralda

This hotel has wonderful staffs and the food served during our stay were good enough ! They even served lobsters on 1st Jan and was a big surprise! The new year eve animation was Excellent! However, the disappointments were the stained chairs, free access of flies on desserts and some foods and not too clean cutlery! Hope management take note!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Resort rundown

The resort is poorly managed, shortages of basics, bad smell from the washrooms, room keys not working, rooms very outdated and quite non functional. We don’t go to Cuba for the food, but this time was the worst since we’ve been many times in 25 years. Despite the kindness of Cuban people, we will not return any time soon.

Brisas Guardalavaca: too loud

Third time visit, it will be the last. Music was way to loud, non stop plus the PA in-between. Food was fine, staff great. Definate isssues with arrival and departure times. Free bottle of rum no longer available, as bottled water every day in room.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Meh

No water, terrible service, food was no good, service was bad, didn’t clean rooms much, hard to get beach chairs, overbooked, The hotel is new and nice/ beach very nice that’s it I wouldn’t go back

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Not as expected - not worth the money

Lots of issues with check ins throughout many bus loads, rooms not ready, ours included. Very disappointed, most staff barely spoke English even in customer facing roles. The hotel was run down, it might have been nice when it was new, but doesn't seem like much up keep is happening. Advertised WIFI throughout the resort but it wasn't great at all. We had no toilet in one room for a few days and the other one kept running at a slow dribble. We had no sheets in one room for two nights and ha [... read more]d to use towels; the bed sheets were stained. One pillow for two people sharing a bed. The beds were too soft and for someone that has never had back issues, I was in so much pain that I barely got any sleep. We couldn't get dry beach towels our entire stay. Sometimes we had no cleaning service, not that we are dirty, just that with sand it is nice to have the floors swept. The cabanas are all run down and falling apart. The beach area is not very swimmer friendly due to the rocks. Almost all lounge chairs were broken. There was not enough of them around the pool areas. The food was cold most times because the heating part wasn't working, so it was hit and miss. Many times it was over or under cooked. Two of our five had issues with the food. They ran out of butter and put out mayo/salad dressing instead. The activities were not like what I have experienced at other resorts, very little effort put into them and not great at all; certainly never on time. Couldn't get a soccer ball or basketball to keep the kids busy. I think they had a great name to start but have let everything go now that they are established.

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Beautiful Resort

Clean and organized. Staff was friendly and amazing time. Bring snacks with you and maybe some hot sauce as the food some is very good, some bland but better than other resorts in Cuba. We had a lovely time during Christmas and new year. Bring bug spray for beach, lots of sand fleas.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Amazing Resort!!

This resort far exceeded our expectations!! The staff were some of the kindess, hardest working, friendliest people we have ever met. The grounds and rooms were spotless. This trip made us fall in love with Cuba and its' rich culture. Excited to go back!

Sanctuary White Sands: Definitely over any expectation you will have from a resort in CUBA

Amazing services, room and staff! The room was big and spacious—the variety of the food was outstanding. The entire staff was always ready to help. The beach and the sand to die for. Overall, they are doing a fantastic job with the resources they have.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Excellent food, well-run hotel and pristine beaches!

If you are looking for a relaxing, well-run hotel, with gorgeous beaches, Angsana hotel, is your place! The food prepared by Chef Guillermo was delicious, varied and very well presented. Daily, we were treated to abundant and tasty food options which included fresh fish, chicken, pork, beef, and an omelet station each morning. Honestly, Chef Guillermo’s expertise was evident with menu choices and dishes that were enjoyable and creative. Just as importantly, the hotel staff absolutely care and keep the rooms, gardens, and all the common areas impeccable. In terms of staff, of special mention was one of our beach bartenders, Arsenio. He is a kind, efficient and very professional individual. It was a joy talking with him. Also, our housekeeper, Amarilys. The pride she took in keeping our room spotless is worth noting. There are so many staff members to thank for their professionalism and hard work. To name a few: Danaisi, Viralis, Lizandra, Mario, and Pocorul, who suggested we tried a drink called Canchanchara. My favourite during the trip! Piano entertainment by Raisa, and fresh cut coconuts were also very enjoyable during our stay at Angsana!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Theft in Room

Had a horrible experience. On my day 4 of my stay i had my money , laptop, shoes, backpacks, hair cutting machines, girlfriends makeup and jewelry stolen from my room, staff did nothing but “investigate” for 3 days. I had come back roughly around 3-4pm to change after being on the beach and maid was in my room cleaning so i went for a walk to give her some time to finish. Went back to room, rested got ready to go for dinner and entertainment with the girlfriend. All my items were there when  [... read more]i was getting ready and i had left my luggage open because i felt safe and it was my room and nothing happend first couple days. I also hid my laptop underneath my clothes. You could not have none i had laptop unless you went thru my stuff. The girlfriend and i decide to get ready for dinner and entertainment for the night, like usual we check the balcony door is closed and window. But our balcony door did not lock because balcony lock wouldnt latch/broken. We were on the second floor so we thought nothing of it as this is how we were given the room. After the girlfriend and i had come back from dinner and entertainment we noticed that my suitcase was close… i look around and noticed money , laptop, shoes, backpacks, hair cutting machines, girlfriends makeup and jewelry stolen… shocked and frustrated i head to front desk and get security.. security had me write down a report and have security sit ourisde our room and they start an “investigation” and relocate us to the next room beside my previous room… Next morning we go to meet them for a certain time to further discuss… they had us wait for 30 mins and different managers this time, ones that barely spoke english, meanwhile many other employees spoke english. They tell us investigation is ongoing and that we can just keep going in about or day in the room next door without any clothes. I demanded we have our clothes returned as only half was left and that they change our room into new building. They change our room into another building only to give us another persons room with all their belongings inside… at this point i have no more energy to argue or anything. I go back let them know and they were “sorry” and they give us new room again… we go into our new room and within 15-30 mins someone knocks once and walks in… one of the employees came in to change a light bulb in the living space that seems to have never been used. This was also never requested by us. Now investigation is over and sunwing, memories flamenco and security call me in, only to tell me nothing was found and the staff did not steal the items and that someone else from the resort stole them is what they tell me. Blown away i explain to them again as i did in my report/interview. No one knew i had that laptop as i never used it and was in my luggage under my clothes the whole time, no one knew i had the cash as i hid it in n my backpack under my towels and in my wallet, no one knew i had those shoes as i only wore sandals, my girlfriend wore the bare minimum jewelry to dinners, my shaving machines were only in my washroom in a zip bag. None of this made any sense besides… the maid stealing it… the maid leaving the balcony door open for someone to jump in and steal the items… someone knew the balcony door doesnt lock and they steal from this unit… At this point i couldnt hear their bullshit anymore and just ask them “did you find any of my items” once they said no i just got up and walked away. Memories flamenco Customer service and Sunwing customer service are by far worst customer service i had experienced.

Barcelo Solymar: Very nice resort

Remember it’s Cuba and you need to know that befaure you go lol. In saying this our hotel was very nice rooms were clean staff friendly food plentifull the beach is amazing. But Cuba is by not a country with everything were us to there you can’t just go out to the store and buy apples oranges bone steaks you get what’s available but it’s good and you won’t go hungry. Sol Palmeras: Fabulous time at Sol Palmeras!!!

Spent 14 days at this amazing resort mid December. Enjoyed everything, except the December weather. Resort satisfied all of our needs and wants when it came to the location, size, cleanliness, services, beach/pool and food. Location: conveniently located 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Varadero. Size: resort appeared to be quite large, yet it did not feel overwhelming and was very accessible. Cleanliness: resort grounds inside and outside were always clean. Our room could be cleaned daily, but we made an arrangement with our lovely maid to have it cleaned every other day. Beach/pool: lots of space at the pool and the beach, with both shaded and open areas. Towel service worked great with an abundance of clean towels daily. Services: amazing staff at every section of the resort (reception, security, bars, entertainment, lifeguards, maids, etc.). Food: we were pleasantly surprised to the abundance, quality and variety of food at the buffets and restaurants. Fresh fruits, veggies, fish, meat, eggs other items daily. We miss ice cream and freshly squeezed pineapple juice. We would definitely recommend this resort to others and will be back for sure!

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Christmas Visit

Hello everyone The melia unfortunately for a new hotel as of January 2024 falls short in the service area. The bartenders and food buffet servers were less then satisfactory. We have been to Cuba many times mainly Varadero area . This hotel needs to train their staff about some simple customer service to smile and to at least appreciate our presence at your hotel. We do put food on your table and help give you a living .

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Wonderful Staff

The resort was nice. We spent most of our time in the Sanctuary area and that pool was nice with good service. We mostly had breakfast and lunch at the Sanctuary restaurant which had great service. Food was as expected no shortages to speak of. Dinner reservations were made for every night by the concierge the day we arrived and that worked well. The beach was the highlight best beach I have spent time on. All nice and Sandy there is a private area for Sanctuary that is nicely sheltered and the staff keep other guests away from the lunch chairs. Over all I would say if you are looking for somewhere with wonderful staff and a beautiful beach you will not be disappointed.

Melia Internacional: Amazing resort

Great hotel great location could use a little bit more cleaning but overall it was good. Food was OK but plenty full location was amazing. So close to downtown Varadero you could walk or five dollar bus ride into town. Beach was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Brisas Guardalavaca: THE BEST RESORT IN HOULGIN

I went with my friend for two weeks and we loved everything about the resort. The food was amazing. The beach was amazing. The staff was very polite and nice. The room was very clean I would recommend anyone that wants to go to Hogan to take this hotel. I will definitely go to this place next time. I will make sure I go one month.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Returning guest

Repeat guests. Better than last year regarding amount of food and a lot less flies. Still having issues with the hot water in certain buildings. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Did not have any problems with power.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

This resort is beautiful. Spotlessy clean. Friendly staff and accommodating. Drinks are generous with alcohol. They are struggling with access to fresh fruit and vegetables. Food is plentiful but not really very nice. All meals are the same as the last breakfast , lunch dinner. Unfortunately I experienced only cold water for showering until the last day

Grand Memories Holguin: Fun Christmas vacation!

December 18 to December 28, 2024. We booked oceanview room with Premium package. Yosbel, was our guardian angel during our stay. Nothing was missed, filled fridge, he booked all of our a la cartes. If I had any concerns or questions, I'd address it to him and he did his absolute best to help us . Fridge was filled, the room was clean, comfortable beds, big size hair dryer, nice shower. Great entertainment team, kind,fun, friendly and talented group of young people. Amauris, Paulo, Adriana, Nao [... read more]mis and Sergio. They played with my son, thought him all the signature dances :) This is a 2 year old resort, I do know that certain things aren't available to maintain certain areas of the resort, but fresh coat of the paint in certain common areas would be nice and to fix cupboards in the buffet for staff lol. Also, I see all these Managers walking around, cameras on top of everything. Just please make certain things run smoother and more efficient. The food was good, our favorite Japanese restaurant. Tuna was great! The beach is great, yes it's windy, but we can't play with God and mother nature. Amazing pools as well! Can't forget my buffet ladies, Sandra ( the singer) and Yulieska. Always welcoming us with smiles on their faces and kisses. We love them Mi cubano hermanas forever!❤️ Our maid Rubi, super nice lady. 24 h bar, Lily making my 7 am cappuccino, extra strong. This was our 2nd visit to this resort and won't be last. I just wish that it was closer to the airport. There are few things that can be corrected. Less wait time at the lobby bar, more efficient way that buffet staff works and serves, few times I was without water or ate with a knife lol, when I was almost done, staff member approach me. I went to their little station didn't find any forks. (Sometimes they are understaffed because of fuel shortage and the employees that are already there have to cover another shift , because others werent able to come to work) I personally don't mind, but many people due to dietary issues or cultural or religion don't eat certain food. Cannot mix or use same grill and utensils /grilling tools for chicken and pork, or fish and beef. FOOD HANDLING EDUCATION is necessary. Other than that, we were fine with everything we ate. I am well aware of shortages and how things are run in Cuba. 17 times and different parts of Cuba. Tbh i find that the food and menus are all the same everywhere with few small adjustments. I did tip, I did give gifts. I brought a whole suitcase of gifts, non perishable food items but even without tipping, any place,buffet, or bar i went to , I received a good service with a smile on their faces. We did Dolphins excursion,even though Cici and Dana didn't want to play with us, we got to touch them. We were told it's a Love season for them and they behave different. Catamaran was so nice. Loved it. Over all , our vacation was amazing, relaxing and fun. Cheers! God bless all of our cuban friends!!
