Memories Jibacoa: Very nice place for vacation

On June 26, we first arrived in Memoris. Friends told us about the reef near which the hotel is located. And we got what we wanted - a great place for snorkelling. In addition, this is a very quiet hotel with clean, well-air-conditioned rooms. Evening shows are very pleasant. The hotel staff is friendly and professional. Another advantage of this place - a close location from Havana, and we had the opportunity to visit an interesting excursion. Buffet is common for Cuba. To reliance, the room without air conditioning. Conclusion - we just returned from an interesting vacation. This hotel we are happy to recommend to all lovers of the Cuban holiday.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

This was one of our best vacations in Cuba in the last 20 years or so. It is a small, well maintained resort, adults only, with beautiful grounds, excellent service and more than decent accommodations. The rooms are quite big, very clean. The food was very good, much better than in a 5-star hotel in Varadero we visited a couple of years ago. There is a big grilling station with two cooks, with choices of fish, mussels, shrimps, pork, chicken and beef to grill... pasta station was excellent, where the cook made pasta with your choice of add-ins and sauces. Smoothie station in the morning, fresh fruits, pastries....several choices of cheeses and ham/salami....decent selection of desserts, ice creams, sweets, for everyone's taste: mango and coconut ice creams were to die for. I find that people who normally do not cook at home, or live off the junk order in, are the ones who complain about the food the most... myself, I appreciated the selection and the fact that someone else cooked and cleaned for us. The beach was one or the most amazing beaches.... very clean, lots of sun huts, so we never had to run early in the morning to save a space.....the sea water was pristine, very warm and shallow for good 25 feet or so....there is a beach bar and little pizza restaurant, with a great pizza.... the guys serving always with a big smile, excellent service....I loved the churros guy... he made churros at his station by the pool, and every day, at noon and around 3 pm, he was walking down to the beach with a tray with hot churros, giving them to the guests... he was in full cook uniform, sweating in the heat, but still the biggest smile in the world. Although we did not go to the entertainment programs, we were listening to some great music coming from the theater every evening... the aqua show was really mesmerizing, those kids are true artists. There is really not one single thing that I could pinpoint as not satisfactory. I cannot single out one single person at the resort for being more nice and helpful... they all are that way.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: The Best Vacation We ever Had

Very friendly staff, amazing beach, amazing people, clean rooms , good service, This is first time we went to Sanctuary Grand Memories Santa Maria and i we will come back again. 17 times we were in Varadero , and i have to be honest will never go again after we came from Sanctuary beach , We just love all service and everything they did for us, Thank You. This beach you can't compare with any beach around the world one of the best. I have never seen service like this in my life. Edin

Hotel and customer service was good, food was not that great. We have burgers and fries all day and night.. however everyone has their own taste. The papaya was the only fruit we had.. definitely needed a salad..

Memories Paraiso: Beautiful Resort

I have nothing but good things to say about this resort except for the fact that there was no air conditioning in the main restaurant the whole week we were there which made the dining experience very uncomfortable. The food was adequate but not great. The grounds were lovely with an amazing variety of plants & beautiful flowers. The gardens & the white sand beach were the best I've ever seen in Cuba. Memories Jibacoa: Such a great holiday, returning soon!

It was our first time at this resort, and my fourth time travelling in Cuba. We went to Memories Jibacoa specifically for snorkelling at the coral reef directly offshore. Our oceanview rooms were perfectly situated at the beach, although one of my family member's rooms had faulty air conditioning which was not resolved during the course of our stay. From reading other reviews, this seems to be an issue at this resort in many rooms and I must admit that I'd be apprehensive about booking there  [... read more]in the future unless air conditioning issues are fixed. Another friend's room in our same building had similar faulty air conditioning, unfortunately. My room was cool, thankfully. My room did leak during a torrential rainstorm one day but, es Cuba... it was ok, no big deal. Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed the beach and resort amenities. Food in the buffet was fairly decent (especially the desserts!) and we tried things we never would have at home - the standouts were the stewed lamb, steamed clams and cream of pumpkin soup (really!). The best suggestion I have is to ask the staff what their favorites are on the menu, and they'll never steer you wrong. One insider tip is to try the grill near the pool - he cooks over a charcoal bbq and makes incredible shrimp skewers. Speaking of staff, I really have to say that the resort staff is what makes the resort top notch. Every single person we interacted with was amazingly friendly and helpful, and all very efficient and concerned with our needs. Everyone spoke excellent English as well as other languages such as French, German, and more. I will definitely return, hopefully soon, as my passion is for snorkelling the coral reef directly offshore. It's so hard to compare to Varadero resorts, some of which are at a higher star level and as such offer even more amenities, larger food selections, and proximity to off-resort activities in town, etc, but for those who are interested in a quiet resort surrounded by countryside less than 1 hour from Havana, and particularly with diving and snorkelling options on the offshore coral reef which Varadero lacks, I highly recommend this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: One of the good resorts in Cayo Coco

My 5th time at this resort and I never get tired of it. I think that they have recovered pretty good from Irma, still a bit of work to be done but very well compensated by the kindness and good humour of the staff, especially Joel at the coffee specialty, O'Reiley at the lobby bar, Noilen at the italian restaurant and Yosmel the bell boy and all the rest of the staff. Everyone makes you feel very special. Place is clean, well kept. Very good quality for the price.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Beach Dust Between Your Toes

We had the pleasure of meeting the new Sanctuary restuarant Manager Carlos on his first day at the resort. As repeat guests, we mentioned to him the staff are very attentive, friendly and smile all the time serving us breakfast. They would have our cappuccino with Bailey’s and mimosas as soon as we walk into the restaurant ready for us. Chef Vincenzo makes delicious, beautifully presented food and we looked forward to our evening meals prepared by him. Bartenders Jesus and Yuniel exchanged stories with my husband’s love of baseball. The nightly bands in the lounge were great especially the rock n roll band, Cuban bands and duos. The tap dancer is very loud for the lounge area & thevdancing seems repetitive and was not a favourite entertainer for us. Bartenders Jesus, Yuniel, Meylin & Leodan handle the busy bar with ease, keeping guests happy and being friendly. They all have super bartending skills. Our housekeeper Jeny looked after our room and kept it spotless. Her special touch arranging the towels in different shapes. Jeny is a hard working, sweet woman. We had happy times and conversation with our very favourite shuttle driver Hanoy a real gentlemen and very courteous. Tony who is his colleague makes us laugh with his enthusiasm and being so lively. It truly shows Hanoy and Tony enjoy their job and the guests they meet. Would just like to say although the resort is all inclusive, we noticed many guests do not tip the staff. The staff work extremely hard while always cheerful and helpful. This is our personal observation and know a cuc currency goes a long way for them. Hoping the new beach bar will be opened when we return. Alexander (Alex) is busy on the beach. We are thankful he puts out our beach chairs and provides bar service on the beach. It’s not easy delivering drinks in the heat. Alexander & Raoul try hard to monitor tourist who do not have wrist bands for the Sanctuary who try and sit in our designated area. We appreciate the Diamond Club/Sanctuary have their own section on the beach. It’s one of the reasons we want to stay at the resort! The best restaurants to have dinner is the Sancutary restuarant and Gourmet. The Director of the Sancutary Luz is amazing and looks after her staff with respect. We love the staff at the Sanctuary and consider them family. We can hardly wait to return for our 8th time to the resort. As they say in Cuba, see you soon, not goodbye....

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: BEST BEACH - GREAT MEMORIES AT MEMORIES CARIBE

Hi All, I travelled solo to Memories Caribe and have the BEST time. Beach was BEAUTIFUL, staff were wonderful, grounds were very well kept, resort was clean, pool was great. I had a wonderful time , met some great people, and I thought this was a great value for an Adult only resort. I will definitely return

Resonance Blu Varadero: Excellent

All very good .Hotel staffs are very friendly.Food all in time and lots of fruits.All fresh.Room was cleaned every day and new towels.Beach bar and dining room,lot of choice.Everystaffs are very helpful and friendly.

Memories Paraiso: Good resort/Amazing beach

This hotel is very large. Stayed in Paraiso section. Gardens are beautiful and beach is pristine. Only problem was the lack of air-conditioning at buffet restaurant. All the resort workers are very friendly and accommodating.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great

The staff made us feel very welcome. Good room, food and entertainment. Beach was gorgeous. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the resturant and having to wait over an hour for our food to start arriving. Other than that, I enjoyed everything.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing resort!!

Everything was even better than expected!! Amazing grounds, beach, pools, restaurants, entertainment, and service was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this hotel for an excellent vacation!! Gracias Sanctuary Grand Memories!:)

Sol Turquesa Beach: Wonderful Time

This resort is nicely spread out and great for walking. Spacious hotel room, which must have been recently updated. Everything worked well. Grounds are lovely and well-kept. Service was good everywhere. Limited choice of food, probably due to the fact that occupancy is very low at this time of year. Drawback: Buffet Dining room was not air-conditioned, therefore, temperature was too warm for the food that was displayed - occasionally saw small flies above the food. Diamond Club had a designated  [... read more]area on the beach, but I feel that the beach area should be for all the guests, no matter whew they sit. Brought this issue up with the Sunwing rep and Customer Relations. Overall, a good experience. I would definitely return to this resort.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Resort is nice, food is not so nice!

The resort room, beach, landscaping and garden are nice. The food in the buffet is always the same. The a la carte Cuban Restaurant served us cold soup, yucky corn appetizer and burnt chicken breast as hard as my shoe. My husband wasn't able to sleep that night thinking how a nice looking restaurant could serve food like that to their guests. I will not book this resort again!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice affordable place

We travelled the first week of June and the weather was amazing! The resort was only at 40-50% to capacity so it was very quiet. Our rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We did have a room mix up when we arrived but we switched rooms with our travel buddies. We tipped our room cleaner every day but we didn’t always get new towels or water. We purchased diamond club and did not see any benefit from it at all. They keep it very clean and of course it was beautiful! If you didn’t have a chair, guys would set them up for you which was great! Overall I was happy with this resort and it was a great vacation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Friendly Staff

The room was fine, nothing fancy and could use some repairs and updates, but wasn't terrible. The beach is amazing and the staff of the resort make up for any shortcomings with quality of the resort. They make you feel like part of their family. The food was good and a decent selection at lunch and dinner. The mosquitoes were bad in the evening, so bring bug spray.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great

Resort had great value. Beach was great food was good. A decent variety. Smack bar was a great option instead of the buffet. Location is remote but we were not looking for any night life off the resort or excursions. It was just what we were looking for.

Memories Paraiso: Terrific Resort

The people are very friendly and helpful.They worked really hard for our satisfaction..Sad tob see them run for sixteen hours a day. Overall Need more selection of foods as my son is vegan and not much selection was available..Fantastic beaches and even though we got rained out we had great fun.

Memories Jibacoa: Nice resort

Our room was very nice. The grounds are kept up. The restaurants were OK. The best food was definitely at the international restaurant. The Diamond club breakfast area was nice & quiet with a wonderful server. Snorkelers loved this beach but for walking or swimming its not so good.
