Secrets Huatulco: Great Holiday

My husband and I had an amazing time with friends at the Secrets Resort in Huatulco, Mexico. This was the second time we have been to this resort and both times our holiday was everything we hoped for and more. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were always so clean and well stocked. I loved our rooms with a balcony view of the ocean from every room. I especially enjoyed the shower, very relaxing. There was always a large iguana outside, sunning himself in the same spot on [... read more] our floor. We spent time at both the pool and the beach every day. There is a perfect spot for snorkeling by the rocks at the one side of the bay. My husband and two of our friends saw whales breaching out of the water just beyond our bay, out in the ocean. I was happy to view them from the video that they took. The food was really good and there are quite a few restaurants to chose from. The Barefoot Grill by the pool provided delicious choices for meals like burgers, hotdogs, fries, guacamole and salsa, salads and ceviche. There was also a pizza oven and specialty food demonstrations set up next to the Grill on different days. The beer in a can was Aymstel. We took a 15 minute taxi ride into town. This resort has turned out to be our favourite holiday place.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful Vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at ORP. The grounds are stunning, and the wildlife here is a must see! We did not book any Al la carts due to the fact the line by 830 am was so long, it just wasn’t feasible with children. You have to wait in a line to book your meals in person. That being said, we ate all but one of our meals at the buffet and it was FANTASTIC. Tons of selection. We also ate at Route 66, and found the bbq was just as good as what we would find at home. We were greeted upon check in by a staff member who welcomed us to the resort and we were under the impression he was just showing us around and giving us details, turns out he wanted us to meet him for the time Share meeting the next morning. When we didn’t show up, he no longer would look in our direction or speak. Our room was beautiful, with 2 double beds and a pull out couch. Large jacuzzi tub with a stand up shower. The negatives with our room was that our Air Conditioning system did not seem to work, we called to let staff know twice and they said it was fixed but never cooled down our room. In the evenings we would come back from dinner and it would be cooler in the hallway than our room. The door in our room would not lock from the inside with the deadbolt, again we called twice but it was never fixed. Over all these were minor complaints, as we still fully enjoyed our vacation. Lots of fun for the kids - water park is perfect for ages 9 and under.

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay: Dying 5 star in Mazatlan

What a beautiful resort with a great location, fantastic grounds, great views and a completely tired and decaying feeling.Our room was in need of a paint job, vent cleaning, and a definite redo of the bathroom.Still trying to sell time shares, but not keeping up the place. We love this place but it is so old, tired and dirty now it hits the 3 star level and not the 4 or 5. However, the buffet is the same all the time, no changes for breakfast and nothing new is introduced. Huge lines for food and only one cook. The staff try and make it better but the food went from 5 star to 3 star really quickly. It is disorganized and it is not fun to watch people going back and forth trying to make sense of a crappy layout. Make sure you get up as early as possible as even the staff at the hotel gets in on reserving pool chairs. There is nothing to be had after 9 in the morning and some stay empty for hours. There is a line between owners and guests that doesn’t get crossed. The sister hotel is better but the service in the top line Italian restaurant (Angelo’s)still sucks. Lots or flourish, but no standards. In and out in 45 minutes. Didn’t get to eat half of my appetizers before my dinner came. And that was the second time it happened. Still the best but decaying rapidly.

Riu Palace Baja California: A beautiful vacation

The hotel is so peaceful and there is always someone cleaning some area of the resort. Each room is well set up with a shower that is outstanding! The variety of a la carte restaurants made the dining experience each evening so much fun. The gym had a good set-up of equipment and we loved the fitness games and activities offered throughout the day. The entertainment was really good but we did get confused as to which stage the special shows were offered on between the 2 Riu resorts. We found [... read more] the service to be totally amazing -very responsive and willing to go that extra mile to help out. For example, my mom left her special shawl at one restaurant on our last evening. When she called the hotel 2 days later, they found the shawl and it was returned to us. Excellent customer service.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: An excellent adults-only resort in a great resort complex

Staying at Sian Ka'an provided a great experience, allowing me to enjoy all the advantages of this adult-only resort, as well as all the facilities, restaurants etc within the larger Bahia Principe complex of four resorts. Good pool areas with ample chairs and bar/snack bar service. Dining ranged from very good to excellent. The buffet restaurant offered great breakfast and lunch options ( as well as dinner, which I didn't try). I enjoyed dinner in the a la carte restaurants ( 2 in Sian Ka'an- [... read more] 12 or 13 overall in the complex) which provided a wide variety of cuisines, and menus, ranging from very good to excellent. The trolley system was efficient, providing quick access to the other parts of the complex, and importantly the beach, which had an adults-only section reserved. Service throughout was fantastic in all aspects - staff were constantly enquiring as to any needs, and quick to ensure any/all needs/requests were met. Housekeeping was excellent throughout. Room was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped

Grand Oasis Riviera: What a beautiful stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Oasis Tulum Riviera with our two 15 year old daughters for a week in March and loved our stay. We had a nice room pool side that was impeccably maintained. The beach was beautiful even though there was some algae brought in by the waves. The water and fish and wildlife were incredible. The food was amazing in every restaurant we visited even the buffet. Paradise Village Puerto Vallarta: 5 Stars Plus !!!

Everything from the Food/Drinks,the Beach and the unbelievable staff made this Resort the best we have ever had.. Spotless every where you looked, washrooms and all restaurants were so clean at all times. Rooms were cleaned in a timely fashion and all the hot water you will ever need at all times.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Resort is ok but would not return

This resort is ok for families on a budget but nothing is great about it . Front desk staff could care less about you. People on the grounds are helpful and give good service. Rooms are ok but overall resort is old and needs a facelift. Gym equipment is very old and border’s unsafe.food in restaurants and main hall is just ok.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: My favourite resort

I have stayed at this resort many times - my all time favourite. I was worried that with the sale of the resort to the Wyndham group that it would change the true Mexican flavour - but if anything, it has changed very little. The entire staff goes to the extreme to guarantee your stay is exceptional. Thank you to the entire staff.

Live Aqua Cancun: Amazing

Everything is first-class from building, lobby, rooms, views, staff, food, pools, beach. Only critiques are pools too cold, needs a dinner buffet, expanded selections in main restaurants. The staff were all really nice and very welcoming.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: We loved our stay

The grounds were beautiful and our travel was seamless. The buffet got old after a few days but the a la carte restaurants were a hit. The swimming with the sea turtles were a highlight. It was a nightmare to get a spot by the pool and beach but we managed alright. The only hiccup was we were booked for the wrong excursion and didn’t get the experience we thought we booked. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Greatvresort let down by details

The Bahia group of resorts have really nice facilities. Reception, public areas, pools are all great. Unfortunately the rooms at Akumel are very old and tired, and not at all 5 star. Also a la carte restaurants are great, IF you can get a reservation. It is almost impossible to get reservations at reasonable times. I personally I'd chose Sian Kaan if you don't have kids, but it's a 10 min shuttle ride to the beach.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Barcelo Maya Tropical

The Barcelo Maya Tropical where we stayed and the whole Barcelo complex was beautiful. I would recommend it to others and we would consider going back again. There was just one day where there was no service to our room and we had to use damp towels the next morning for showering. Other than that, our experience was great.

Grand Oasis Palm: The most discusting hotel worst of the worst

We arrived there and the room we got had no fridge. No microwave.. no balcony.. we had to pay extra 450$ U.S for upgrade to have a so called better room with what they called a bar service… we never recieved any bar service at all the whole 7 days we were there and they only came to bring water and drinks on our last day when we were checking out!!! Every day I was in the lobby front seat asking for water !!! Our room was never getting cleaned!!!our toilet was always clogging and takes them hour [... read more]s to come fix it and it was always clogging!! The rooms are so ridiculous and dirty and smelly!!! The hotel was full of only locals and barely any visitors from other countries! Some of the security guards were so rude !!! The food is so discusting and I I found some pizza that was cooked with rotten and green fungus molded bread and some fruits that was very rotten and moldy and I bring it to the server’s attention showed it to them and told them to remove it as people can get very sick and possibly die and they just agreed with me to my face and apologize and then they never did anything about it and I watched the cook add more in the buffet after they ran out as I watched so many kids and older people eating it and I took pictures and showed it to client services and again nothing was done about it!!! All the food was sooo bad and discusting and rotten and it was the same food very single day!!! I even et to leave but was stuck as they wouldn’t refund me for any of the days and there was no availability any other hotels as it was spring break!!!! I had to take my kids and go out to eat in other restaurants downtown as I couldn’t take any risk in that hotel!!! I wish I could download pictures of the food u would throw up just looking at it!!! It was vacation from hell!!! The beach was light blue water at 6/7 am but by 10 am it would be brown and yellow and soooo dirty because of all the boats literally beside the hotel and water was full of engine oil and motor fumes and gas leaks and would turn the water brown it was so dirty and u would find broken glass bottles and cigarettes butts all over the sand ! It’s definitely not a place for kids or a place to enjoy!!! I been to Mexico 4 times now and now I will never ever go back !!! Worst stay of my life!!! If there was a no star on this rating I would’ve been selecting it because this hotel doesn’t even deserve the one star!!! Don’t understand how this place still open!!! I guess that’s why it’s all locals there!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not bad but not great

The beach extremely far and full of seaweed. It’s really far from the airport so get ready for 2 hour drive. The food was good but you can book only 3 restaurants per a week stay and it’s very hard to book. The entertainment team was great in the pool and there is lots of shows in the evening. This hotel is really nice if you have kids with you as they for sure will find friends to play with. It’s a 3.5 star resort as it’s not that expensive it’s worth the price

Riu Palace Peninsula: Wonderful resort!

We absolutely loved this resort! The staff are very friendly, rooms were always clean, beautiful beach! The only recommendation I would have is for the check in staff to provide a bit more information. Ie we were allowed to use steam room and hot tub daily and didn’t even know until the spa service staff told us. Otherwise had a great stay!

Coral Blue Hotels and Resort: Coral Blue - fantastic resort

It was a very nice place. We have enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature. The rooms were clean and had a nice furniture. Everything looked new. A staff was very friendly. The ocean was clean and it was fund to do snorkeling.

Riu Tequila: Wonderful Vacation at the Tequila

We enjoyed everything about the Riu Tequila. The rooms are clean and comfy. The air conditioning works well. The quantity and quality of food and drinks were great. The entertainment is fun. The staff is very friendly. The beach is lovely. The ride to the beach club is quick and convenient. It is very nice to use the other 2 sister resorts for everything except their a la cartes. All 3 resorts have the same 4 a la cartes at each, so you're not missing out on anything. I like the fact that you do [... read more]n't have to reserve the a la cartes each morning. The money exchange is better at the resort than at the money exchanges in town. The proximity to Playa del Carmen is also convenient. You can either walk the 3 klms, or take a taxi for 150 pesos. The Playacar Plaza is just outside the resort and has many little stores and kiosks that offer all that you need for souvenirs and other needs. We plan to return again next year.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort!

The resort and beaches are well kept. There is lots to take in, snorkeling with the sea turtles and fish. Catamaran, water bikes and dolphin show. Evening shows, strikers bar, mall and markets. Everything is within walking distance or bus are available to go between resorts or mall area.
