Playa Vista Azul: Fantastic resort

The public area and the bar has lots of room for guests to sit. I absolutely loved the seating area by the infinity pool. The view was amazing during day and at sunset. We got to stay in the four room villas with the ocean view. Absolutely perfect. The room was very clean and modern with big bathroom. Buffet had lots of food options and I loved all those fresh fruits every day. Beaches to the left and right of the resort were stunning, lots of things to do there. I will recommend this resort anytime and will come back there next time I’ll be traveling to Cuba.

Melia Las Americas: Really nice resort

Ive been at Las Americas before Covid 3 years ago and loved it then. There were 5 of us ladies, 2 in one room and 3 in another. I found the food acceptable, given the circumstances in Cuba at the present time. The grounds are beautiful, the beach amazing, and the staff at Las Americas very helpful and accommodating. Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Totally happy!

This was our second time here - and this is our absolute favorite resort in Varadero. The location is absolutely wonderful! The food was very good. The chocolate ice cream was wonderful! We make sure to not book the eco rooms - as these rooms are removed from the main part of the resort. This is an older resort which is not artsy fartsy- but affordable and in a great location. The beds were very comfortable.

Starfish Jibacoa: Relaxing Vacation

Quiet resort with everything we wanted. Small buffet but plenty of food. Far improved from last year where there was no wine, no dairy, no blender! This year it's back on track and the weather was beautiful.

Playa Vista Azul: I would go again

Initially upset because our room was not stocked with any towels or drinking water, we had to ask. They are skimpy with the toilet paper but did usually get one roll per day which was enough as we were not in the room much. Check public bathrooms for toilet paper before you sit down! Don't go to the waffle/ pancake bar as the guy is supper slow. The restaurant staff and bar tenders were friendly and efficient. One night though at the romantic restaurant we waited 1.5 hours for the meal and it wa [... read more]s cold and supper salty. The 1st time we ate there it was fantastic. All in all though...we enjoyed this resort and the service. I would go there again.

Playa Vista Azul: better than expected

playa Vista Azul was way better than what we expected after reading some of the reviews The grounds were always cleaned even after everyone would throw there cig buts every where rooms were good always cleaned there was no shortage of food and a good selection service was excellent beach was amazing would return anytime and recommend

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good Resort

Overall this resort was quite good. There were a few issues, which were resolved after mentioning to the PR person. There was no hot water upon arrival and the bathroom sink was leaking from the top. Also, there were no lights on at night in front of our building. The light situation was never resolved.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice Resort

Overall we were satisfied with the Hotel, the staff, the property and the Ocean. However there is always room for improvement. You can always find fault if you want to. We have been to Cuba eight times and every resort has had similar area’s for improvement. Playa. vista Azul was not the best we’ve stayed and not the worst. It is a reasonably priced Resort, with clean Rooms. Some minor problems we encountered were that our card swipes did not work a few times and had to go to the Front De [... read more]sk to get them reprogrammed and we were on the fourth floor and the elevator did not work. We did not get a bottle of water until the third day even after going to guest services. The wifi did not work half the time and the television did not work for the entire week. The front desk told me that none of the televisions were working. Some Hotel staff were rude when we inquired about some of these issues. The food was ok but there was no Pasta at all.

Blau Varadero: Wonderful holiday

Spent 1week at Blau Varadero with upgrade to select room. We had room 1230 with an amazing ocean view. The room was spacious and clean with a daily stocked fridge. Food was typical Cuban selection with always something available with the exception of fries. The a la cart dinners were very good. Entertainment was enjoyable with live Cuban band on some nights. Beach was simply amazing with 2 to 3 mile white sandy beach to walk with crystal clear water. Good value and would recommend.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Exceptional.

The resort is striking upon entering and being so quickly greeted by the staff gives you a special feeling of knowing you are going to have a wonderful vacation. Special thanks to Matty and Ronald for their hospitality and availability. The resort is one we will return to without a doubt. Its offers everything one could hope, such as; magnificent beach, staff, drinks etc. As I write this I am longing to return. Hoping this review helps anyone who chooses this resort. You too will be impressed.

Los Delfines: All the repeat guests can't be wrong!

This was my 4th or 5th stay at Los Delfines, I know what to expect. I particularly like the downtown location, the friendly staff and the smaller size of the resort. It's easy to tell many of the guests are repeat visitors, and love it. The food was not bad, better than what I experienced at a "better" resort in Varadero just last August, but it can get boring. Lots of options within walking distance to go out to eat though. Some of the rooms are small, mine was this time, and could use a good r [... read more]efurb. But then the price would go up! When you consider the cost per week here and factor out the flight cost it is remarkable, in my opinion, what you do get for your money. No, it's not the Ritz. But I'd go back in a heart beat! I read lots of reviews panning some of these low cost hotel/resorts, especially in Cuba, but with due consideration to what you're getting for your dollar Los Delfines is hard to beat. Want 5 star luxury? Go to a 5 star resort and pay the premium.

Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing vacation

Just stayed at Bella Costa with a group of 10. Resonance Blu Varadero: Lovely Resort

The grounds were very well taken care of and the hotel was clean. I would definitely return to this resort. The staff were friendly. :) Some villas are undergoing renovations and I’m sure will be fantastic upon completion. The beach was amazing!

Hotel Villa Cuba: Disappointed

Nothing much has changed since Covid stay.We started the stay with a room with the safe door hanging off(broken),and a door that had to be slammed nearly off the hinges to lock.We found this out when the motel room door was wide open in the morning.We changed rooms the second day,after a lot of pleading.The food was the same for tthe duration of our 14 day stay.All in all,it was pretty disappointing,with the exception of not having to get the phony covid Test.

Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories sanctuary. My home away from home

This resort is one of the very best i have ever been to! I have visited this resort many times and will definitely return! Although cuba is having a very hard time getting past the pandemic, the staff bends over backward to make sure we are well cared for! The restaurants are amazing, the pools are clean, pool towels are always available (unlike other resorts i’ve been to)! Palma Real: Friendly Resort

We arrived at palma real 12 days ago .This hotel has been closed over 2 years since covid and they have redone the pools since then The rooms are still the same but at least everything was in working order The atmosphere was great everybody reuniting for first time in years and the staff are all very friendly and helpful The food unfortunately has not changed but they do the best they can with what they have ! Occidental Arenas Blancas: Resort changed

This hotel declined alot in service and cleanliness, I had been there numerous times before staff were nice and courteous but the resort itself. Restaurants for a la carte closed no more disco, bar closed at 11pm no more access to food for 24hrs had diffferent drinks on a daily basis ie: fanta, rum, water no beer everyday it changed, no cola just lemonade!!! Well it was an experience one I do not want to experience again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great spot

The hotel is very nice and you can tell it was a top spot before covid. The grounds were kept beautifully and people were always working to keep it clean. The food is cuba... we didn't starve but was repetitive and it didn't ruin the trip. The beach is beautiful and private as well so you could go anytime of day and not be in a heard of people. The evenings in the lobby were great and they had some of the most talented people I've seen perform. There really wasn't anything to mix the drinks. Limited cola, no mint for mojitos, no slushy type drinks and I think the pina coladas were made from powdered milk. We finally found coke in Havana and paid $25 cdn for 6 cans but worth it .... it saved the trip. At night the wine and champange was good. Housekeeping was interesting... I'm not sure but they must have been told to not change the towels. The rooms overall were good and had no problems.... I didn't see any of these broken doors I saw on other reviews the building seemed to be taken care of. Overall they are struggling from Covid and sanctions etc but I do not regret going. If this is your first post pandemic trip you might want to reconsider because you may have different expectations and be disappointed.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Would not return highly recommend chosing another resort

This resort by no means is a 4 star resort, it’s the worst all inclusive I have ever stayed at by far. My husband and I arrived with our two kids 8 months and 32 months and were checked into an outdated room with mould on the lamp shade, no toilet paper holder, AC only functioned at high blast, paper thin comforters with no warmth, broken playpens for cribs that the bottom touched the floor. The food was selection was awful (no cereal, oatmeal, pasta, salad dressing, cheese, only fruit was un [... read more]ripe pineapple and papaya, almost no vegetables, fries only one time and the list goes on) Everything was salty and they would mix ham/pork in almost everything from salads to rice etc so if you have dietary restrictions be prepared to go hungry often. They would reluctant make you a vegetarian option even at the grill station. I was genuinely distraught after the first night so i spoke to the sunwing representative and client services the next day requesting to be switched to another resort. All that was offered to me was upgradibg us to the ROC plus plan which included an upgraded room and unlimited dinner reservations at the a la cartes as the buffet was beyond terrible. Despite being an upgraded room the patio door did not lock, I called and they said maintenance would come, no one showed up. The sheets were stained. Coffee maker in the room, but no coffee or filters. No room service. The Cuban restaurant was actually just a buffet with less option than the main. The italian and international a la carte had more decent food but even there the meats were overcooked and tough and very little selection. The plates in the buffet were often dirty, they ran out of beach towels for a few days, ran out of bath towels and only had hand towels, no cups at the pool or beach bar ( we read the reviews and brought our own) Drinks: wine only at dinner, no mixed drinks like daiquiris, Margaritas, mojitos etc, basically had rum and beer. Be aware there’s sand fleas on the beach. The pros: beach is beautiful, the staff are exceptional, coffee bar has great cappuccinos Overall: would never return to this resort and I’m dissatisfied that sunwing offered no assistance in switching resorts.

Roc Barlovento: Beautiful beach

We had no problems with the food being served. Supplies are short and they make the best with what is available. Our room was comfortable- towels were limited and rather small for showers. They were not changed everyday. We found that staff were working 24 hours at a time which I thought was unhealthy for them. The buffet could use a couple toasters, use of a grill was fine for making toast but should be cleaned more often. Dishes and glasses were not always clean. And lobby bar had dirty gl [... read more]asses. I’m positive they only received a quick rinse. The beach under palapa could use a good clean up and the board walk to the beach needed to be cleaned and swept. The sand was accumulating up the boardwalk which would make it very difficult for wheelchair users. The pools were kept very clean ( Daniel ) did a good job. The gardeners did their work with whatever equipment they had ( very primitive) but gardens are well maintained. Overall the staff are very friendly and very helpful. We would go again as it’s our favourite location.
