Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great Vacation

Loved the resort. The updates are wonderful. I found the beds comfortable and pillows nice and fluffy. The was not one bug in our room or the grounds from what I saw in the 10 days I was there. The food was great, especially the Mexican restaurant. The entertainment staff was the best of all employees. Very friendly and get you involved in activities. Luis is absolutely hilarious and Jim, by far the best dancer. I would most definitely return to this resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Horrible resort

Buffet food was under standard. Thankfully the à la carte nights were good. The Asian Fusian was fantastic and the steak house. The rest was not! Don't ever pay for a Superior Platinum package. There is absolutely no difference. You are treated the same for the exception of getting a cheap bottle of rum in your room. Beach was great! Pablo and Santiago were the only ones that understood customer service. They were great!

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great staff!

A great week under the sun! Recomended by a cousin who had been there last year. Rooms are large and well maintained! Food is varied and tasty! As for the restaurants reservations are not necessary. Entertainment every night appreciated..loved the magic show! Pool and beach very clean..food and drinks closeby. Quiet area within easydistance of city centre by taxi or local bus

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort and right price

This is the third time for me coming to this resort, always have had a good stay here, rooms are clean, always can find something to eat(it’s no steak house) but it will do. Resort staff is mostly very nice always, great location and close to the airport. Won’t beat the value for what you get, only downside is the resort is a little rundown as it is older

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Nice Resort and Beautiful grounds!

This was our first time at this resort. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived. If you are looking for a nice small compact resort then this is the resort for you. We were on the third floor of a nicely situated bungalow. Our room was nice but there was nothing special about it. It was sparsely furnished but clean. We didn't have a fridge which was a downer. The power went out the first night we were there and continued to go off and on through the night and through our week stay.  [... read more]When the power went out the water in our room stopped working and didn't come back on for a while after. On our last morning when we were getting ready to leave and the power went off while I was in the shower which meant that I had to walk around with shampoo in my hair for about 20 minutes till the water came back on. I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and clean. The public areas were clean and the staff was very friendly. The staff was also very friendly with my children which made a very welcoming feeling. There is only 1 pool but it is fairly large. The wind was terrible during our visit so it seemed the pool always had sand in it through no fault of the staff. The resort is right on the beach and the beach is very nicely kept. Clean and lots of lounging chairs. The entertainment staff is wonderful and there is always something going on whether its games for the kids, zumba or water sports in the pool. The nightlife is good also. Not wild but adequate. The food was ok as far as Dominican food goes. There was lots of variety and I never had a hard time finding something my fussy children would eat. The a la carte places were very nice also. Overall the resort was clean, pretty and not to loud. All the people were friendly and our stay was a positive one for us and our children.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Fair Resort

A group of us have vacationed here for the past three years. The price continues to go up but the service declines. The upgrades that have been done to the lobby and restaurants are amazing,however, the services, rooms and food continue to decline. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Nice Small Resort

This is a lovely resort if you are looking for a small resort with everything very close and easy to walk to. Beach and lobby both very close to all of the rooms. bathrooms and rooms kept clean and stocked. however, the entertainment is not so great at night- so if you enjoy that this is not the resort for you. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Be Live Marien

Beautiful! Very friendly and hard working staff! Amazing food! The only complaints is the bathrooms needs to be updated and the wifi isn’t the best! But your on vacation so unplug and enjoy! Do the city tour excursion!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Such a fun & relaxing time!

This was our first time in the Dominican, and we had read mixed reviews about this resort. The room we started with was clean & nice, however we had no hot water. We called the front desk and they had us moved to a new room within an hour. The rooms were always kept tidy, and the fridge was always restocked. There were always carts around to give you a ride around the resort, although it is fairly small and easy to navigate. The staff was always smiling and welcoming! We did the catamaran and VIP beach tours and had a blast on both! The culture in the surrounding towns is amazing. The food was decent, many many options so it made it easy to always find something to eat. We met some amazing people on this trip, and enjoyed the shows every night. It was always sunny and beautiful, the grounds were kept neat and clean. We would definitely go back! It was a nice mix of adults, young adults like ourselves, and families.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: A beautiful resort to escape the cold winters.

We had a wonderful week roaming the beautiful grounds of the resort, swimming in the amazing pool and walking the beach. Whatever you want, stay quiet or join in the fun, it's all there for you. The staff are friendly and eager to please. Whatever foods you like, it's all there in abundance. For me I enjoyed the fresh fish every day. Tropical fruits and fantastic deserts to spoil you. This was our third stay at this resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort !

This hotel was clean and well kept. The food was fantastic, the staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. We stayed mostly at the beach as the pool was always full with towels on the chairs by 7 am, but that was ok as we are beach people any ways. Music playing at the beach and pool would be a good idea. But all in all it was a wonderful experience...

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Value!

We had a great time at Blue Bay. For a small resort, it's well-appointed with amenities. The beach is beautiful, the food was great, and the staff were terrific. It was more of a party resort than I had anticipated, so if you like an afternoon nap make sure you get a room away from the main pool. ;)

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great experience

We had a fabulous time the people were wonderful, the resort was good and fun, the room was a little run down needed minor repairs, the a la carte's were OK the buffet was awesome. We met so many people that come back every year because they enjoy it so much. All in all we had a great time and would recommend this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Excellent Resport

I would give this place a 10 out of 10. The rooms were fine, clean. The grounds were well kept, no litter laying around. The food was excellent in the buffet and the snack bar. The three al carts restaurants served excellent food. All the waiters and servers were very pleasant and were always there to help you. Activities were great. The pool was always clean and lots of lounge chairs to sit on. I will be going back and would recommend this resort to anyone looking

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. The staff were excellent, food was great and the pools and beach were awesome. I have already decided that this is one resort I will be returning to in the future

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort Horrible Airline

This was the 7th time my wife and I have visited this resort, and we can't say enough good things about our experience. The facilities have been updated since our last visit, and the food / service remains outstanding. To bad we can't say the same about Sunwing. Our flight departed a hour and a half late despite the fact the plane was at the airport and the weather was fine. My wife and I didn't pay to preselect our seats so they seated us apart on both the departing and return flights.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Review

I stayed at this resort 2 years ago and had a great trip. This time not so much. The Cleaning of the rooms sometimes took until 5 pm but they already have taken our towels so we couldn’t even shower for dinner. Replenishment of water and pop was hit or miss. We didn’t have hot water for 2 days. Getting a beach towel or loungers is tough. It was nice to see the lobby renovated and the restaurant. The wait to book the a la carte was ridiculous. Buffet was basically the same food all the time. Could have had more variety. The weather was good and that was the break we needed.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Not worth the price

We travelled to Blue Bay for a week in February. Pros The beach bar staff were great, the VIP section of the beach meant we always had a chair and towels. The buffet staff were friendly and attentive and we could always find something we enjoyed. The staff at the a la cartes were wonderful and made you feel special. Cons The rooms were very dated. The dresser in the closet and table in the room were poorly made and in need of a fresh coat of paint or replacing. The coffee in the lobby  [... read more]was an extra charge as was the room safe. The food at the a la cartes was ok, but there were really no vegetables and no fruit, they were very heavy meals. For the price we paid for platinum all inclusive I was very disappointed. We went for the sand and sun and ocean and those are what made the trip worthwhile.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good for the Price

The grounds and food were great! The location is very nice and beach is wonderful. Very safe and nice place to visit. My negatives are the bed was rock hard - honestly, the beach furniture was 100% better, and the pools and pool bars all close early...lots of night life, not alot of evening life. It is a "timeshare" location, so some areas are much nicer than others, and they will push you for a tour and to buy.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Paid More - Got Less

A group of us have vacationed at Casa Marina Reef Resort now for the past 3 years. While we still our enjoyed our stay this year, all of us agree that the price continues to go up, however, the services, rooms & food seem to be diminishing. They have done a ton of upgrades to the lobby and restaurant/bars which is wonderful, however, the inconsistency of the rooms being replenished, the cold food (unless you order pasta), the cold showers (twice) and squeaky closets/doors need much improvement [... read more].
