Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: This is Far the of the best
We stayed at the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas between December 12-20-2014 Let me start by saying I have a lot experience staying in Hotels, due to my work and travel mostly Canada and the United States, I stay approx.. 300 days a year in hotels. Not to mention vacationing in at least 1/3 of the Caribbean Islands and Mexico. After reading half the reviews on Trip Advisory I knew this hotel was amazing, even though 12% of the reviews gave the hotel a very bad review, in fact these people had nothi [... read more]
Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very Good
This is the 2nd time that we have vacationed at this resort as a family and we will be back again! It is very family friendly and our 3 boys loved it too! We also have friends in Peurto Vallarta and we appreciate being able to spend time with them on the resort by purchasing a day pass for them to swim and have dinner together. The rooms are clean and well kept and up to date, however I would suggest that they upgrade the double bed to a queen bed in the Deluxe room . Last time we were lucky eno [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: WOW
This hotel was fabulous. The beach was perfect for children and snorkelers - clear, calm and large. The staff were the most attentive and accommodating, more than any other resort I've been to. The food was wonderful. The only negative is that the room was a bit musty, BUT they did have a solution and came around with "aromatherapy" to freshen it up. Would definitely visit again
Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great potential-just not clean
Loved the location along the coast, terrific beach with some private areas, good service - but the rooms had dust bunnies on walls, dirty lamp shade ( black) and stained blinds. I spoke to the front desk about it the morning after we arrived but it had no impact. Spoke to another couple who had the same concerns so we were not alone. Too bad. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Perhaps they should be assigned to do the insides as well.
Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Fantastic Family Vacation
My family and I (38, 37, 6, 4 & 2) spent a wonderful week at the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach Dec 20-27, 2014. At the recommendation of our amazing travel agent Jennifer Collard we stayed at this resort. She was totally right. The food, the resort, the activities, the rooms, the atmosphere, the people...EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! We will definitely be back again!
Viva Maya by Wyndham: Good Beach, Central Location
To start we booked through Holiday Market Travel, which has been bought/taken over my trip central. So there description of was different from what is currently on their website. So, some expectation we different. I was expecting a litre of water per day as per the "Smile" extras, which made a difference to me. We had to purchase water everyday. The second item it was longer transfer from the airport. Other than those two items, this is an average 3plus hotel. The free internet by the lobby is v [... read more]
Riu Lupita: Very good resort
We enjoyed our stay, however at poolside there is no " NO SMOKING AREA" for non smokers. as we do not smoke and had hard time to get away from smokers. One thing I like to mention is that I requested special cereal and it was provided next morning, I greatly appreciated the staff for doing this for me. The rooms were clean however if they provided time clock in rooms it would been great. The Resort food was good, however there were so many guests who got sick ( diarrhea) ?? food poising, almost [... read more]
Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Beautiful Resort
Hotel was Beautiful - clean, spacious, staff was very friendly and always ready to serve food drinks with a smile! Book your activities and resturants early in your trip - Oyster Bar at 6:00 pm sunset dinner is a must!! Beach is natural setting not large - visit the Azul Beach Club for beach and ocean fun! Take the boat or kayak to the island for a snorkel day - worth the ride!!
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Awesome resort
Friendly and helpful staff, great food, beautiful resort and beachfront. We found it easy to get a table at any of the restaurants. No line ups! Room service arrived within 15 minutes. We are definitely planning to return.
Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Preferred Club Dec.20-28th 2014 room 106
The grounds were pretty nice, some pool tiles coming loose , but still good. Food(Buffet) is the same as most 4 Stars. Mosquitos are bad due to the jungle area ( take Deet) the restaurants (a la Carts) were great but there was a continued problem with guests travelling in large numbers, they wouldn't leave once finished eating, sometimes taking 3 hours for 16 people to clear out of a restaurant that didn't seem to hold many people. They wouldn't ask them to leave, & they ( the guest)were too sel [... read more]
Riu Tequila: Really beautiful resort
My husband and I went there for our honeymoon in November. There was a little mix up from our booking and they didn't know it was our honeymoon though. Our first room ended up being by the street and so we had headlights shining in our room. We asked to be moved and they accommodated us right away. The food was amazing but at ter 2 weeks it gets a little boring as it does everywhere.. but you can always find something no matter what. We didn't spend much time ON the resort as the beach was a 5 m [... read more]
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Gourmet Gourmet from food to drinks!
A perfect resort for those wanting deluxe! Gourmet standards as far as food! Service impeccable. Zen grounds, peaceful and spa like resort, chick boutique. "Starbucks-like" coffee bar on resort. Loved it!
Meigas Binniguenda: Awesome Resort
This was our first trip to this part of Mexico and the stay at the Binniguenda made the trip so much more enjoyable. This quaint resort was very clean, the food was great...we especially enjoyed the Italian cuisine at the a la carte restaurant. The grounds are very well kept, the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. This resort is in the Santa Cruz Bay Area and they do provide a shuttle service for the beach, however we also took advantage of walking to all other amenities.
Crown Paradise Club: Great family holiday resort!
We just returned from a 10 day stay at this small but lovely resort! We travelled with our 2 small children who had an amazing time and made lots of new friends! The resort was very close to the airport so no long drive to and from! Upon arrival we we greater by our Westjet rep and everything was smooth sailing. Off to the resort and that was quick and easy as well! We took a basic room with an ocean view, was lovely and simple and clean! Only thing missing was the fridge didn't have any beverag [... read more]
Crown Paradise Club: Family Friendly Resort
The resort is one of the few good ones I have experienced. The staff is helpful and everybody works very hard to keep the common area clean. ( e.g. sweep the sand on most walking path, clearing dirty plates and glasses left all over the common areas ). The food is one of the best I have come across. Lots of selections and 3 types of fish every meals, not to mention the tasty Mexican food ! There are lots of activities for children and family but for a single person like, me, I find it a little n [... read more]
Plaza Pelicanos Club: Really loved it
The rooms were kept amazingly clean, the food was excellent and the staff were amazing. A special thank you to Claudio (the pool bartender) so polite and courteous. The other pool bartender was polite but I apologize I didn't get his name. The staff were incredibly helpful and everything was kept clean. Thanks all around for everyone's hard work.
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: The resort and staff were fantastic.
The rooms and food were great with volleyball by the beach daily. It was a family vacation with our two boy's (15 & 19) and we had a great time. As boys can be boys, they accidently left the safe open with $1000 of electronics in it. Chamber maid called surcurity, safe was locked emdiatley and a note was left for us to contact them upon our return. NOTHING missing and very professional
Barcelo Ixtapa: Our 2nd visit to the Barcelo
While we were very disappointed when we arrived to find the one pool under construction, meaning that the kids were allowed in the adult pool, it turned out okay after the Mexico holiday weekend passed by. We were at the Barcelo Ixtapa 4 years ago, tried another hotel in Ixtapa last year and returned to the Barceló Ixtapa because it was cleaner than the other place. Great service, nice and clean, entertainment was okay (except the Michael Jackson night, they need a better Michael Jackson). Only [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great resort.
Accomodations were clean and spacious. Problems such as lighting issues were addressed promptly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was well maintained. Loved the wildlife. Buffets and a la cartes were well done.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent all-inclusive resort!
The customer service here was top-notch. Every staff member that we interacted with was great and made us feel like they were truly there to make our stay carefree and fun. Bed was comfy, a/c was just right, oceanview room overlooking the golf course on the left side of the resort (third floor) was lovely and private. Food was overall great, except the steaks. We ordered rib-eye and not only were they two different steaks entirely, but so tough we honestly couldn't eat them. Two other tables nea [... read more]
