The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Nice Resort

My wife and I stayed at the Azul Fives for 8 days from November 20th -28th. The good: Friendly, helpful bar and restaurant staff at all the locations throughout the resort. Buffet had excellent food with a different theme each night, though selection was somewhat limited. The pools and grounds are very nice. There is an infinity pool on the beach and 2 more that snaked through the well manicured gardens. The room was very nice and big, though paying extra for the roof top patio was not worth it [... read more]. Great resort for families with small children. Lots of strollers and high chairs! The bad: Though the room was very nice, location was next to a road and a jungle on the other side of that. Road traffic and someone with a small engine gardening tool that rev'd up and down and up and down and up and down woke us up every morning at around 7:00am. Nice. Front desk wouldn't do anything about it. We were told the resort was full so no room change available. For all you early risers...have they got a room for you! The concierge was helpful but there was a hidden agenda. They were really pushing the "loyalty program" which is their term for time sharing. Those Mexican's sure love trying to get you into those seminars! Not enough lounges on the beach to accommodate all the guests. The beach area isn't very large so lounge space is somewhat limited and there was very little shade and no palapas. We had one good meal and one bad at the a la cart restaurant on the beach. That piece of chewy meat they tried to pawn off as beef tenderloin just wasn't, so it was back to the buffet. It would have been nice to have a buffet on the beach. Great resort for families with small children. Lots of strollers and high chairs!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: SUPER RESORT

HAD A GREAT TIME ENJOYED GOLFING ETC. ENJOYED THE VARIOUS SELECTIONS OF FOOD. RELAXING TIME. GOOD VALUE.HAVE BEEN AT THE RESORT BEFORE AND WOULD PICK IT AGAIN. THE STAFF LOOKED AFTER OUR VARIOUS NEEDS. WE ENJOYED THE LOCATION AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESORT.

Moon Palace Cancun: Great Resort

This is the best resort I´ve ever been. The staff was helpful and very nice. Everything was very clean and tidy. The room was absolute luxury. The food was just excellent. Pool area was nice and clean.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Spectaculor

We've been to many all inclusives over the last ten years. This one was by far the best. The beaches in the Mayan are not the best but this one is one of the better ones we've seen. The hotel is sparkling clean. The staff were all accommodating and pleasant. The food was delicious. We spent ten days there and even had tried to find anything we did not like, we wouldn't have been able to. Free wifi and four computer stations to use free of charge if you needed them. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Another Good Trip to Grand Palladium

This was our 3rd visit to Grand Palladium, first time to the Kantenah resort (stayed at White Sands and Colonial previously). I think Kantenah has been our favorite of the 3 so far - a little less travel time to get to the pools and beach. Very large resort, they have a little train that will make various stops at resorts, the spa, sports centre, etc. Food was good at both the buffet (breakfast & lunch) and the a la cartes we got into. Travelled with a large group (9) and we were only able to ma [... read more]ke 2 reservations (need to be done at 8 AM the day before) and the rest we just showed up around 6 PM and they were always able to accommodate us. A little early but not an issue. Entertainment was mediocre at best - a mix of kids & adult shows (for the 9 PM show), then a 2nd show at 10 which was geared more towards the adults - the rock show was great, live band and great dancing. Overall we'd go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: SWF - third visit - love this resort - will return

This was my third visit to the Bahia Principe in Mexico and my second visit to Coba. Love this resort, tons of things to do without leaving the property. The nightlife is one of the best I've ever seen and the shows are extremely good. Don't miss the Hacienda from 10:30-11:30 for the live outdoor music and dancing with the entertainment crew. There are bars and sports bars surrounding it so lots of guy and girls. The disco opens up after the outdoor music and was pretty much packed every night a [... read more]s folks from all 4 spots come. You better take a nap as the nightlife is not to be missed! Specially at the Coba they seem to have a lot going on in the main lobby, live music every night, which turns into a dance party outside some evenings. They have an outdoor bar as well. The shows were just so impressive, especially for an all inclusive. For the daytime any of the pools are pretty good but I'd say the Coba party pool is pretty happening. Lots of activities going on, the entertainment crew does a great job of keeping it going. I'd also recommend checking out the sports complex, the gym, and renting some bikes! I booked Coba this time around again before knowing that the Akumal turned into adult only. Coba clients are not allowed to use the facilities on Akumal, so for that reason I may book at Akumal next time. However I used Tulum for the beach area (beautiful but packed!) This resort is a little far from the airport but I wouldn't let that deter you! Tulum also has the best lunch buffet! I'd say Coba had the better breakfast. Although in a whole the food is good. Tons of options and you'll never go hungry. The rooms are perfect, couldnt want anything more. Love the jacuzzi tubs, beautiful balconys, very roomy, and the beds are pretty comfortable. Decor is your classic resort look. The staff at this place is awesome. Especially those in the main dining rooms and buffet areas (as I dealt with these the most but really any staff member was amazing). Any request I had they were happy to accommodate. Very friendly and approachable, always big smiles, jokes, and greetings. I don't know how they keep it up with that many people! The cart guys are awesome too! Seriously just thrilled with this place!

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Best Service and Staff!

This resort exceeded all of my expectations in every area. I have never received better service from anyone! From the entertainment staff to the bartenders and the servers everyone here was so happy. I would recommend this resort to anyone! Secrets Silversands caters to everyone whether you want a quiet relaxing vacation or you want to be close to the action there is something. We enjoyed the pool activities, the nighttime entertainment, beach volleyball and the rainy day activities! I was so overwhelmed on my last day because of how well I was treated! I was so sad to have to say goodbye to the staff! Natalio and JuanJose of the restaurant Ratatouille did such a good job in taking care of us. We had supper there on our second night and told them we would return, on the night we returned they had set up a private table for us by the chefs with our own special menu and gave us a bottle of wine! I could not believe how well I was treated and that they truly cared about making our experience the best! The bartender Mario at the Veranda bar made sure that every night that we sat down at the bar we had a drink in front of us within 2 minutes and he always remembered what we liked to drink! He was so accommodating to all the different drinks we wanted to try! The staff truly made this experience the best for us! This is the 7th resort I have had the pleasure of experiencing and it is by far the best! I will return in the new year and I cannot wait to see everyone again. I'm sure after reading some of the other reviews you have seen that unfortunately the ocean at this resort has some rocks and seaweed in it. The sand on the beach is white and clean and the seating is very comfortable. I was able to go into the ocean, but you do have to be careful of rocks. This was a Mother, Daughter trip and we were both treated exceptionally and met some amazing people from all over the world! Shoutout to Avenillo as well! I was making tea one morning and he asked me how I was doing I said I had a bit of sore throat and he went and made me a special tea to help soothe my throat. The next day he asked me how I was feeling and if he could get me anything! Little Sergio at the Buffet took care of us even if we weren't sitting in his section!

Barcelo Huatulco: Very good value and a gorgeous beach!

We did get a fantastic all inclusive deal ($957) so I think it was great value for sure. We have been here about 5 yrs before. The first time we did get a renovated room which was very nice. This time we did not so the bathrooms are very tired and in need however we had a gorgeous view out to the pool, and you can't beat the oceanfront set up here. The resort is a more traditional Mexican style and not too big. Lots to see and do. Because of the age, I'd say accomodation is more a 3.5 star with  [... read more]a 4 star food and beveridge. 5 star beach! Great people. The lobby entertainment featured a 5 pc band and two fantastic lead singers. If they had a chance they would beat anyone on "The Voice" Extremely talented. Thank-you to our extraordinary fishing guide Tony Lopez Lopez who makes amazing margaritas, took us to all the spots that the hotel tours do not and gave us a private tour! Ask for him as he really made the day fun and is a true professional. ( new boats and safe) He also made our Christmas very merry by helping us facilitate toys to one of the poorest of the neighbourhoods AND helped us rescue two cats that were in very poor health as he hooked them up to a local vet for treatment and placement. I felt due to the renovations needed, age and quality of drinks that it is all around about a 3.9 star experience however given the price we paid we were very happy! GREAT VALUE!

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Lousy Check In - Great Stay!

Some front end staff neeed Customer Service training and they MUST streamline their check in process to make it move more quickly. We were very unhappy that they demanded a pre-auth on our credit cards (never had that before at an all-inclusive). For one of our party it was 7000 pesos and it was 5000 for me. That seems very steep. Even though they cancelled on our check out, I won't rest easy until a month or so has gone by. We really should have been warned about this! It was also advertised th [... read more]at there was free wifi in the lobby but on check in we learned that wasn't true - only available for a fee. Otherwise the resort itself was super. The best food by far of any all inclusive any of us have visited. Great variety and well executed. Rooms were kept clean, although a little inconsistent with how many towels were available and sometimes the mini-bar wasn't fully restocked - nothing we couldn't live with though. We were impressed by how hard working everyone was - much work being done to fix things from hurricane damage but it was never intrusive. Pool staff were a lot of fun. Great that the activity pool was so warm as we had little ones with us that were able to spend a lot of time in there with us. The evening entertainment was top notch. Mexican Fiesta night was a highlight for us, and again we were impressed with how much work the staff did to make it all happen. Bar service was a little hit and miss. After the first day there was never mint at the pool bar so I either had to go up to the lobby or have something else (again not a big hardship though). There were six adults and 2 small children in our group and we agreed that we would all happily come back again if the overall experience was the same (and the front end improved! )

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: great time at the Great Parnesus

good hotel I was meeting a friend from Calgary at the same hotel on Dec first . arrive in Cancun 12 pm was at the resort by 1pm .We had upgrade to club room. had to change room there was no fryge in the first room and no champagne and fruit basket .said it would be deliver in the evening was hoping to have a toast with my friend she was arriving at 4pm. also told the front desk to let my friend know we we were in defferent room witch they did not.She was trying to get in the room key did not wor [... read more]k.Seem to have problem with this card key all week. witch was very unconvenient since we were on the11 floor had to go to main floor. every time to activate new card. We didn't receive are champagne till the 3 day after asking the front desk every day . Not the best service. but nice hotel large room with great ocean view. Good variety of restaurant, beautiful beach. I travel quite a bit this is my 5 time in Mexico love the people and there culture. will always come back . maybe not at this hotel,only if they improve there service.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Paraiso del mar

We paid for the stay in Paraiso Beach ....but ....we were put in the Paraiso Del Mar side.....we were told the Beach side was full....not too happy about that at all...but the resort is a very good resort to stay at (Paraiso Beach side)

Paradisus Cancun: Amazing resort!!!

Beautiful hotel with the best beach cancun has to offer! Staff and services were excellent! Restaurants were impeccable, and 24 hour room service was a big plus! From check in to check out you truly felt well taken care of! A great holiday!

Canto Del Sol: Wonderful resort

Everything was good,but when they say there going to have a seafood night they should have seafood we were so excited and very disappointed with what they had not very good. Rooms were very clean missed having a coffee pot in room. WiFi didn't work in room so had to go to lobby or pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Too many people selling stuff on beach,they keep coming so you can't really relax.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: improves every year

Over 20 times to PV, at least 5 times to Canto/and/or Villas. Last year seemed to be the start of improvements, and more this year.. The buffet is better, the Monday night Mirachi bands were terrific,as was the dance band another night. Staff are always very accommodating, and everything is always clean.For the price we pay it is excellent. ,

Selection Riviera Cancun: Amazing Experience

Great hotel with an amazing restaurants. The food was the highlight of the trip. There were some issues with the room as there is a common door between the rooms and a lot of noise passes through. Overall a good experience.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Another outstanding visit.

Our 5th visit to Excellence Riviera Cancun, November 22 – December 6th, was excellent. We were delighted to find the road from the highway to the resort has been paved; what a difference. We received a warm welcome from Gustavo, our favourite former waiter in Barcelona who is now with the bellboy team. The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a room we were happy with; 6307. All the in-pool loungers and side tables have been replaced, the gardens immaculate and an overall br [... read more]ight, clean feel to the resort. The food was the best ever. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch each day at The Barcelona and there was something to please every taste. A friendly greeting from Gabriela, Armando to ensure everything was running smoothly and Isac, Jose and Martin to look after us made for a pleasant experience each day. The addition of the Mexican specialties at lunch was a treat for the taste buds; poblano chili turkey breast, chicken in guajillo pepper sauce, chicken chimichanga, chicken tinga, chicken wings with pasilla pepper sauce, marinated beef, beef meatballs in guajillo chilli sauce and beef tacos were some of our favourites. The ice cream, as always, was outstanding and I loved the breads and pineapple filled berlines at breakfast and the Paris Brest at lunch. We ate at Chez Isabelle six times, Spice and Toscana three nights each and twice at The Grill. With the exception of one dinner in Chez Isabelle, all meals were excellent. There is a daily menu at Chez Isabelle that runs on a 30 day cycle which is the reason we ate there so often. Juan oversees the restaurant and the excellent staff and the renovations last year has resulted in a larger but still intimate setting. It was wonderful to see Ramon moving up from his former position in The Barcelona. The Grill and Lobster House menu has been combined and offerings reduced while the restaurant is being renovated. Santiago is a great Manager and always provides a warm welcome. The tenderloin I had was exceptional, my husband’s lobster a bit chewy. We look forward to a return of the regular menu next year and the newly renovated restaurant. Ramon oversees Toscana and was always willing to provide special requests. We were delighted to have Guillermo serve us again this year. Dio, our favourite waiter from Chez Isabelle, is now providing excellent service at Spice. Isabel at Revive prepared excellent smoothies each day and our mini bar was restocked daily. The renovations underway had no effect on us but, that being said, we stayed at one of the quiet pools. If you prefer to be where the noise/action is, I would suggest the end of February as an ideal time to visit to ensure the renovations are completed. The ONLY negatives were the shower temperature/water pressure fluctuation, and the bolsters and pillows on the huge, comfy pool beds getting soaked by the rain or blown into the water. I realize it would create more work but, for 5 stars, I would expect these items to be collected and stored indoors overnight as they were in the past. We are looking forward to our return next year already!!!

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: Awesome Resort

The first thing I noticed was how clean it was, the staff were very professional and everyone right down to cleaning staff were extremely friendly, my favorite retaurant was the french restaurant. This was my first trip to Mexico and I really enjoyed it, we didn't leave the resort very often, there is always something going on, the entertainment staff were awesome

Excellence Playa Mujeres: The Best Again

WE have stayed at this resort twice now. I wanted something special for our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff went above and WAY beyond to make this the most enjoyable week imaginable. As usual the food, drinks, and grounds were 10 out of 10.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Best Vacation Yet

I will start with the service as I feel the service needs to be mentioned first. TOP NOTCH service, as we were treated as Royals. The staff is very well organized and they work well as a team to please the guests. The resort is clean, quiet and small. The pools are large and have a variety of themes/atmosphere (quiet/music or shade) You need to save lounge chairs by 8 am poolside by throwing a towel on each chair.
