Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing Resort, but more importantly...AMAZING STAFF!!!
I have stayed at the Gran Muthu Imperial now twice. Let me tell you, the second time I was treated like a VIP guest. They went out of their way to make sure that everyone feels like their most important client.
From the reception process and welcoming spirit, to the feeling that you are now part of the MGM family!
The bellhops are so polite and respectful....Kevin would do anything to ensure a guest is taken care of, so very patient and attentive! The rooms are excellent and views are spect[... read more]acular from almost everywhere in the resort. If anything isn't working, which we rarely saw an issue, they fix it right away! The chambermaids make everything look beautiful, the towel designs are awesome, bathroom is impeccably clean! On to the other areas of the resort.....the Bartenders in the Sports bar, in particular Yadianis, are so professional and yet it feels like you went to your favorite pub at home and they see you every week. Alexander, the tennis instructor (who also works with the entertainment crew), is the most professional and skilled instructor. Always has a smile and a kind word whenever you see him...a real pro at his instruction on the court! Liuba and Williams from the entertainment team are just so full of excitement and spirit! They make sure that the guests are enjoying themselves at all times, even when they are not doing a poolside game or lobby activity, they make a point to mingle with clients and see how they are enjoying their visit.
The swim up bar has the best guys working to make sure you are enjoying yourself..Randy and Abel are a great team! Ask for the "Randy Special" it's amazing! The guys at the Snack bar (open 24 hours), Hector, Alejanro, Jose, - just amazing guys...try the Havana Special or a Spanish coffee!...so good! Now for Food....this is always the question people ask... It is good overall. We have to remember they are working within their limitations! They always do their best to ensure that you have what you need. The omelettes are awesome, Pasta is great!...depending on how adventurous you are will determine what your culinary experience will be. The Cuban nights have some delicious Cuban favourites and the pulled pork is beyond compare! The aLaCarte options are good, but again it depends on your taste. Our favourite was the Seafood restaurant. Close to the beach, they treat you like you are at an upscale restaurant and the Salmon is delicious! This is definitely my favourite resort of all that I have stayed at. I am definitely going back! See you soon MGM family!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Relaxing Trip
The resort was a relaxing and calming environment with the essentials for an all-inclusive vacation. The lobby bartenders were awesome and the entertainment crew did a fantastic job. The pools were clean and the beach, which was a short walk, was a fabulous way to spend a day.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Excellent resort!!
Hotel was great, resort was great, only negative comment I have was the service was very poor. The front desk didnt answer my call at all, I went 2 night without getting my water filled or changed, I was deprived of water due to the maid and front desk not helping out much. Other than that I loved everything else

Gran Muthu Imperial: Very satisfied
Resort well kept, staff friendly, food edible but not great a bit monotonous especially breakfast. They need to improve their coffee in buffet restaurant, more like brown hot water. Coffee at lobby bar from expresso machine is good but has a lineup most of the time. Vacation was good value for money.

Melia Cayo Coco: Lovely Resort
This adults only resort seems to really cater to a slightly older crowd. It was quiet and laid back. The food was pretty good except for the restaurant at the beach and barbecue which we found pretty mediocre all 3 times we ate there. The staff was curtious and friendlt

Tryp Cayo Coco: BEWARE—- you do not get what is posted on the site description.Paid a lot of $$$ not worth it
Very old Resort it shows its age, grounds around the 3 buildings they put vacationers in were taken care of but the rest of the resort was a different story.
Many, many buildings left empty resort might have had about 300-350 people the week we were there March1-8 running at 30% capacity.
No toilets hardly or toilet paper, no paper towels and all the hand driers didn’t work at all. Not enough washroom on the property at all especially if your at the beach you had to come up to your room, t[... read more]hat’s because the Beach Grill is closed and the washroom facilities were in there.
Bars not opened, Bar at the quiet pool in the middle of the resort was closed permanently as well, beach grill closed permanently.
Hot Tub by the main pool was drained bone dry. Bar and snack bar was never opened when it was suppose to be 10am-11pm, might have opened up at 6pm for a few hours.
Husband walked the Resort every night and he said they had a Transport Truck at the back of the Resort and they were loading furniture and beds from the un-occupied rooms onto to the truck. Truly feel this Resort is having financial issues.
Sad very sad, we couldn’t even get into a Specialty Restaurant because they were only opening 1(one) a night we could get Reservations the night we were flying home.
If anything good came from this vacation it was the Staff & Customer Service
No issues there. They were all fantastic. They work very hard to make us happyâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Food in the Buffett was awesome so tasty and plenty.
Truthfully wasn’t worth what we paid and other guests there had paid 350.00 per person less than us.
Not going back there Cayo Coco is gorgeous but will choose a different Resort next time.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Will never go anywhere else but the Tryp!!
The staff at this resort are amazing! Naymi, Uberlandis & Yosgvany at the lobby bar are the best. They look after me year after year. Margey and Yanelis at the buffet save me my table and my juice at breakfast or my wine at lunch & dinner are already on the table when I return with my plateful of amazing food. I eat more at this resort then I eat at home. This is my third year at the Tryp and once again I will never go to another resort. My room this year was a little far away from the lob[... read more]by and one of the older rooms, but beds are comfortable, and they get me into a ground floor room so I love sitting on my patio reading. We had three overcast cool days but still made the best of the holiday. My only complaint would be the maid service this year. I have always had excellent maids in my past visits, but this year she was almost non-existent. No fancy towel designs, no clean towels (even though gifts were left on the bed everyday for her). Sad that Rudy is no longer there to golf cart me to my room and pick up and my luggage up at the end of the holiday, but the service was still great. It is an easy walk to the market, which is a fun experience. I can't wait til next year to return (or hopefully before). Once again, amazing resort and the price is right.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Well appointed hotel
The Grand Muthu was a great place to stay. Rooms were always clean, with lovely bedding/towels and the bed/mattress allowed me to rest comfortably --and I have arthritis. Staff were polite and always helpful. The food was good and there was more than enough variety. Everyone/everything made my trip worthwhile. It would have been helpful to have a binder/booklet of helpful information in your room; i.e. available restaurants/hours of operation, kids club info, phone #s/general instructions, avail[... read more]able activities/times. Many complained about lack of bottled water but we found out how to get filtered water at the bars. Bring an insulated mug

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Really great family vacation
This was my own 20th trip to Cuba and 6th with my 2 daughters (aged 15&16) This hotel, beach and staff are amazing.
The food selection was one of the most consistent and well stocked in all my visits. The dinning room staff (especially Merly's & Daimaris, Dairom and Annie) are fabulous and extremely helpful.
The rooms and grounds were always clean and well maintained.
The beach was clean and white fabulous sand everywhere
We will return to this resort and I recommend it to anyone with [... read more]a family

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Amazing Resort
Absolutely amazing resort! Extremely clean, friendly staff and great food. The main buffet is a little small for the resort but there were two smaller buffets to go to or you could wait until after the “big rush†to eat. Five pools including a kids pool and a swim up bar pool. There is also a beautiful beach with cabanas and loungers. There’s a kids club and games for young and old at the pool. Great excursions. I would highly recommend the MGM Grand Muthu in Cayo Coco Cuba!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Avoid it
I’m just going to start off by saying, if you read my review, I’m not a fussy traveler. I love Cuba, I try to vacation there once a year. The Cuban people are very nice. The beach at this resort was absolutely stunning. However, my experience wasn’t the most pleasant.
I booked this trip because the majority of the reviews were positive, while there were a handful of negative reviews, that’s to be expected. Unfortunately, after my own personal experience at this resort, the negative re[... read more]views are actually correct. It’s a bit concerning, the number of positive reviews there are.
We arrived at 12:30 pm. We were meant to get a room by 4:00 pm, but had to wait until 6:30 pm.
Got Building 9, first room on the ground floor. Some of the lights weren’t working, there was a moldy scent, the closet door wasn’t attached to anything and required me to actually carry it to the next wall. I went to the front desk and spoke to the manager, and got another room.
I got my second room at 8:30 pm, ground floor of Building 6. This was an accessible room. There wasn’t a solid wall separating the beds and the washroom—there was this odd shutter window, you can hear everything happening in the toilet. The fridge, lights and safe weren’t working.
The next day I spoke to the Sunwing Rep (Tony) and he had said that we should speak to the Resort Rep. I asked the Sunwing Rep why Sunwing advertised this hotel as 4.5 stars and he had said Sunwing has nothing to do with the resort. The Sunwing Rep walked with me to the Resort Rep and just left without helping. I told the Resort Rep that I came here to enjoy my vacation, and it had been far from enjoyable up until that point. The Resort Rep told me she’d contact me. The next day, I moved to my third and final room—Building 1, second floor ocean view. Surprisingly, this room was great.
As much as I wanted to spend some time around the pool, there were no working toilets. Which was a cause for concern because you have people drinking all day around the pool and no functioning toilet. Moreover, there were not enough chairs.
Overall, I didn’t realize I should’ve travelled with a handyman on this trip. It was quite an experience, and I definitely don’t see myself returning to this hotel. It requires a much needed facelift.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Over crowded
The grounds and rooms are new. They need twice as much shade. The tourists are greedy and take all the pilapas. The employees work incredibley hard and still smile. There should be accommodations on the island so they don't have to go to Moron

Gran Muthu Imperial: Five star? from a distance maybe
Arrived late evening to stupid loud music, frustrating for all checking in and those behind the counter. Buildings all look modern and well decorated, but up close there’s problems. Our modern shower looked great, but not sealed around edges and didn’t drain well, so water leaked out all the time, even into hallway once. Don’t turn water on full blast, only have ‘gentle’ showers. Toilet clogs easily, common in Cuba, doesn’t really flush well, after several calls maintenance came to [... read more]‘plunge’ it with one of their tall water bottles. Beach view looks beautiful, crystal clear water, great snorkelling near our shore to the right!! MUST WEAR WATER SHOES, rocky and dangerous walking out, take your time and be careful to not twist ankle. Pilar beach is a must to truly experience a Cuban beach. Some staff friendly, some very unwelcoming unless you’re their buddy/tip a lot. Maid was great, they were the friendliness staff, really appreciated dollar store gifts and a few cucs. Fav drinks: Miami Vice, Traffic Light, blue lagoon, vodka and orange, cappuccino, Spanish coffee. Not many used pools but all chairs held by towels and rocks/tables for no reason but competition to get one. HOTEL NEEDS TO IMPLEMENT THEIR OWN NO CHAIR HOLD RULES BY HAVING STAFF REMOVE TOWELS FROM UNUSED CHAIRS. We should all have the chance to chill on pool side chairs and under beach huts (never got to use a hut all week). Got a King bed which had Queen or Double size sheets for first few days, THEN got King sized sheets. Was very hard to get staff to answer desk phones, had to call several times, a lot of things added up to not be 5 star rating worthy. Won’t return and likely done with frustrating ways in Cuba. Nothing around area except a mini stretch of shops down hill between resorts, so feels like being on Big Brother with same faces over and over. Varadero is better for walking around and beach location. 24 hour bar took very very long to bring out ordered food, waiters were not attentive. Buffet good at fresh food stations, but looong waits. Restaurants pretty good, only Seafood-meh, International-yum, Chinese-strange, we’re available as options. Surprised no lobster offered, yet had some at the Pilar beach restaurant-very good. Never went to the small local town Moron, as the Air Transat rep wasn’t arriving for whatever reason to go on Sunday, so bit disappointed by that. Over all still nice to get away, but there shouldn’t be so many blips in the road at an all inclusive 5 star.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Worst resort
I’ve been to Cuba 4 times and this is by far the worst resort I’ve been too. Because of this I will never go back to Cuba again. No hot water for 3 days, sometimes there were no plates or utensils in the buffet restaurant. We made a reservation at a al a carte for 13 people and they seated 8 adults at one table and all the kids at another table at the other end of the restaurant while there was a empty table beside us. This hotel was suppose to be a 4 star but once u convert it to Canadian i[... read more]ts only a one star

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: A good time with some minor annoyances
The facilities are nice and have been redone from the bottom up within the last 2 years but neglect is starting to creep in. Our bathroom and shower worked perfectly but I heard complaints from other buildings about problems (Request building 3 if possible, we found it to be in the perfect location) The beach and pool complexes (including the kids water section) are accommodating for all on sunny days although people 'reserve' seats and don't show up. If its a bit of a breezy day it's very easy [... read more]for things to blow away, if you know what I'm saying...
Food service doesn't start until 1pm for lunch and 6:30pm for dinner in the buffet so people with children should prepare accordingly. Expect long lineups for fresh cooked foods in the buffet. There isn't enough staff at the hot stations to keep up with demand. If you don't mind sticking to the hot trays of food lineups won't be an issue. There are a ton of rice and pasta dishes, but you will get sick of all of them within a few days. Outside of that the a la cartes are good and service is acceptable.
For a Cuban resort it is better than most but you need to generally lower your expectations for Cuba in general. A Cuban 4, but a Caribbean 3.

Gran Muthu Imperial: February Fun
Very hardworking and cordial staff. Willing to go the extra effort for us! Some still need to work on understanding English. The room staff did not understand what was requested. A concern about the often broken glasses not being swept up promptly, enabling the possibility of injuries to staff and patrons who are often barefoot. Resort was beautiful!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Very relaxing resort
This resort is very relaxing and was just what I needed. The staff are so friendly and kind. If you walk past the rocky section to the right of the resort you can walk for miles. The food was not the best but I did find options that I did enjoy eating. Overall it was a great vacation. I went by myself as a single female and felt very comfortable at this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: What a beach!!!
The hotel was very nice. It’s Cuba so it’s older then other countries and they don’t have the resources we have in Canada. The beds were good, the rooms very clean, the shower water was hot. The food was very good, especially the homemade bread and cheese. The staff was always cleaning and replacing items at the buffet. Entertainment was great, better then anywhere else we seen in Cuba (modern dancing instead of 1950 style).
The beach was fantastic, water super clear and you could walk ou[... read more]t about 1/2 a block before it gets above the waist on an adult. The sand was soft and went on for miles so it was fantastic for walking or building sandcastles. Wished we went for two weeks.
