Playa Pesquero: Exceptional Vacation - Here

Food quality was excellent and the hot items were almost always hot and the cold items were not warm, but cool. Their service,hospitality and grounds cleanliness were 2nd to none. It is a resort that is quite isolated from shopping, but they do have trinket shops and vendors on the resort, for gift items. Our room did have a major water leak from the ceiling on the 2nd last day of our holiday. It was promptly addressed and cleaned up. FYI- Food to the beach is a bad idea, as it will attract ants that bite. Example. Bread to feed the fish. Snorkeling off the beach is worth doing, for the vibrant colors of the fish! Also lots of activities, organized by the hotel that you may choose to participate in. All in all- a fantastic holiday here !!! The catamaran excursion to snorkel and then swim with the dolphins is also a very enjoyable day. P.S. Don't forget to bring your BUBBA MUG !!!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Welcome to nightmare or Cuban "service" at work

Resort side Luna was out of the water for 2 full days and 3 nights (Oct 24-26). Mares side was OK. Resort management did not apology, did not offer to change the room not even bother to clean rooms on the Luna side. People used toilets in the morning and then find out that was no water to flash. Whole day we spend on the beach as room had no a/c or water. Reception said “no rooms available” and advise to wait as they are “working on the issue”. We stay on the beach from 7am till 7pm. Too [... read more]k shower near the pool and patiently waited in the lobby for the updates. After 7pm we decided to go to the room. BAD IDEA! Maids did not bring extra water to flash thus toilet stay unflushed from 6am till 10pm first day. My husband had to bring water from the ocean to flash as it was not possible to enter the room to get clothing to change. We flash then open door and windows for 20 min. Maid pass by without even asking if we need anything. Second day we moved to Mares side. Our room was dirty as this was the spare room reception offered to shower the day before; had 2 double beds for 3 of us; lock did not work at all; room was above lobby bar and facing theater. Originally we stay on the 3rd floor ocean view and very quiet room with rollover bed for 8 y.o. kid. We did not hear any apology from resort but I see how Customer Service staff sit inside to air conditioner room and smile to the frustrated tourists. After some time they simply locked the doors and went home. This kind of “service” is totally unacceptable!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great resort for a break

We have been at a few resorts in Cuba over the years but have to say this was one of the better ones. The service was super like always, just amazing people my Cuban friends we love them. Nothing is to much they always find a way to please you and make your stay enjoyable. The food was also good, enough to choose from and the taste was good. Playa Pesquero: very bad resort,don't recomend

Very bad service almost everywhere,tips don't really make a lot of difference. You can stay in lane in bar,waiter can be rude,beach guys behave like mafia, openly asking for money or refuse service altogether.

Playa Pesquero: Cubas diamond in the ruff

Our vacation was from Oct 12-19/2018. We were here to celebrate our birthdays together. The resort went out of their way to wish us a happy birthday at the ala carte Restaurant we booked. The resort was very large and inviting as well as a beautiful pool with swim up bar and amazing white sand beach. Most workers were welcoming and had no trouble communicating with the language barrier. Wonderful experience! We enjoyed everything,beaches,pools,food etc.Our room it was always cleaned to perfection.Chek in,was easy and all the stuff very friendly.The resort is very clean and well maintained.

Grounds are beautiful Beach fantastic, staff amazing Entertainment Great ROOM "Mares" side which we had very poor Tubs paint peeling shower head could not attach to wall toilet about to tip from floor and bed side table lamp you get electric shock from! Book Luna side..much newer and well kept

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: home for us is at club amigo!!

we love this place. the people are amazing and like part of our extended family! all the staff are more than helpful and accomodating. the down side for us is that a new manager has made some changes which to mus are not in the best interest of the staff or the guests. prime example is relocating the lobby bar to a hot,loud corner of the lobby which has no air circulation. not a good experience for anyone!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Tired resort

First off, the sandy beach is gorgeous. The staff was very helpful when they could. The omelette lady at the morning buffet was wonderful, she made sure I had bacon with my breakfast. Cesar, the bocce entertainment on the beach was great, we had lots of fun playing the game. The resort itself is going through a change in management. It will get better with time. The front lobby is very outdated with no appeal. My only other comment is that the bartenders as well as the food servers should [... read more] speak English a little better, the language barrier made it difficult.

Sol Turquesa Beach: the resort itself was lovely.the beach was okay the grounds were very lush, the weather at the end of Sept. was good.

The thing that was most troublesome was the amount of stairs to climb before you get to the buffet and lobby etc. the pools were good, except one pool was being painted etc. was not ready till the day we left. Being that it was off season, the buffet was the same thing every day pork and beef meat was extremely tough , chicken legs was the next best, salad bar was good, dessert bar was good. Staff was very good and friendly, had to exchange rooms at least 4 times due to toilet not working proper [... read more]ly, water, telephone etc. but last room everything worked, The plane that we were leaving on had some technical problem, so we had to stay on the plane, for at least 3 hours before it finally got off the ground. The hardest thing for certain aged people were the stairs, a lot of stairs.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful Trip

Very relaxing and soothing. The people are all very welcoming and respectful. Great weather, open water, and the hotel room was clean and tidy. Also the receptionists are very friendly and efficient. Will definitely be going back soon.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful Escape

This hotel is amazingly picturesque and has an incredible beach. Best hotel pools out of our travels to date....sadly there were repairs in progress so some of the pools were closed. Somewhat cumbersome to get around for anyone with mobility issues but carts are available on request. Entertainment seemed to be limited or not well advertised. That being said our visit was during the off season so that does often effect excursions and entertainment. Playa Costa Verde: Little Heaven

This resort is a true place for fun and relaxation, it offers everything that will make you happy. Rooms are spacious, very clean with air conditioner and huge widows and patios. The restaurants serves a variety of dishes, there are also plentiful delicious fruits. There are numbers of heated pools. The courtyards are manicured and adorned with lots of beautiful flowers and small trees. The beach is just minutes walking from your suite.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Food Poisoning

We were greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne. It went down hill from here. We were one of five couples and we were told our room was not ready. As we were the only returning guests of the group I told the receptionist I was not pleased with this and she started to scream at me in Spanish. We were then told to go and get some food and the room would be ready in 15 minutes. We went and had something to eat and came back 30 minutes later and seated ourselves in the tram. After some more di [... read more]scussion with the bell hop he proceeded to take us on a tour of the royal service area and rooms wasting more time. After this he made a phone call and our room was now ready. The room was spacious and clean. On the third day of our trip I started to feel sick and this lead to diarrhea and vomiting. I stayed in bed for two days and then went to the medical center. The staff and Doctor at the medical center were very courteous. I was diagnosed with having food poisoning and was given an injection and two types of antibiotics. I started to feel better after getting home. This was an additional cost to me of 105 cuc after spending half of our trip in the room.

Excellent resort , there was plenty of food very good , a lot of stairs so if you don't like stairs don't come here, beautiful beach no issues with rocks as mentioned in previous reviews, pools are fantastic , large resort , staff were very friendly , the ala carte restaurants were really good, I stayed in a Club Diamond room very nice well worth the extra money for what you get , They have gulf carts not very many so don't rely on that for transportation again if you have any physical impairmen [... read more]ts this is not the resort for you, there are plenty of other very nice resorts to go to without the stairs , the mosquitos were really bad so bring bug spray, I have been to Cuba a dozen times and would recommend this resort , I will definitely come back, I hope this helps with your travel plans.

Playa Costa Verde: A Little Heaven On Earth

Everyone should make and effort to visit this "little heaven". There is bountiful activities, one can participate in, eg, going for a walk on the beach or swim in the ocean or laze around in the resort heated pools (more than one).
