Our overall stay at the grand moon palace was great. There were both positive and negative comments about the resort however the good outweighed the bad. We booked with trip central originally planning on staying at the Moon Palace Nizuc. Once arriving in Cancun we were directly transported to the grand moon palace from the airport.
When I asked why we were not going to Nizuc they told me they overbooked and upgraded me free of charge.
I am extremely happy they did this because the g[... read more]rand is definitely better. Not that Nizuc or Sunrise were bad.....they we’re just more dated the new grand Hotel.
We unfortunately could not get a room until 5 PM. We arrived at the hotel at 12 noon so we had to kill five hours with two young children walking around the resort. Honestly I think they were trying to find us a room. I had to somewhat be aggressive and request a room because I had two young children that we’re getting tired from being up since 4 o’clock in the morning . Once I did this I got a room fairly quickly.
The overall grounds at the grand we’re beautiful. The pools, restaurants, hotel facilities such as fitness room and spa were sensational. The resort was not as lush as a mature landscaped property however the overall cleanliness was superb.
The food was excellent. With lots of restaurants to choose from. I never once felt ill nor disliked what I eat. The drink and food service was very good and respectful.
Unfortunately it took three days for them to clean my room. I had to complain three times in order for them to do this. I have a feeling I may have been off the grid and they may have not realized I was occupying this room. Once I spoke to a maid on our floor we never had an issue again.
The night entertainment was scheduled somewhat late for my younger kids. My children being six and eight years old had a difficult time making it to 9 PM for a night show. If the shows were scheduled more towards 8 PM they perhaps would have seen more. But there were lots of other things for them to do
The Kidzone, wave pool and splash pad were excellent features for our family. This kept our kids occupied many of times throughout the week. My wife and I were able to relax in the sun close by and feel secure knowing the kids were nearby. The large waterslide Park was shut down. Apparently the entire thing has to be disassembled in reconstructed. It is not a matter of it being unfinished it simply is deemed unsafe according to the hotel. The hotel in the contractor that built the waterslides are in a legal battle trying to resolve things. I found this out from one of the hotel managers. Once the slides are completed one day this will definitely be an extra added feature to the overall hotel. There was never an issue trying to find a lounge chair around one of the pools. You do not have to get up super early to save a chair.
Never once throughout my stay did I ever feel unsafe. Certain ground floor rooms had their own pool. I will definitely look into the cost what one of these rooms would’ve been in comparison to what I paid. The stretch of beach that this hotel is located on is not The greatest. The sand is OK however the water has a lot of seaweed and not the greatest for swimming. If you’re looking for beach destination I would not recommend this hotel.
When checking out on our last day there was a little bit of a mixup. We were not on Any air transit list to transport us back to the airport. I was in the lobby checked out well in advance. I had to visit the air transit desk to try and find out where my ride was back to the airport. Nobody had me on any of their lists. I was extremely stressed out and scared that I was going to miss my flight. I was picked up at the hotel by another air transit van that seem to have me on a list. This again was after I called to find out what was going on. We cut it very close however did make it on time for our flight. Everyone else that was on my flight was transported to the airport at least a half hour before myself. At the end of the day I made it and everything was fine but there was a little bit of a scare.
I will certainly return to the grand moon palace one day. I am very happy that trip central suggested this resort to me. I spoke with others on our flight that stayed at other resorts in the Mayen. One of the disadvantages was the fact that they travelled over an hour after the flight to get to the resort, the moon palace is only a 15 minute bus ride from the airport. I think this is an excellent thing to note when people are asking about Mexico.

Royal Solaris Cancun: Great Value Resort
We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Solaris. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel and resort very clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and we highly recommend the upgrade to the ocean view with a jacuzzi balcony. One of the highlites of our trip was morning coffee staring at the view. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beach is breathtaking.
The food was good but not great. Never had a problem finding something to eat, but nothing truly memorable.
The shows and ente[... read more]rtainment staff are good for a value resort.
The location is great as it is a short 20 minute walk to Cabo San Jose.
We would recommend the resort for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on a budget.

NYX Hotel Cancun: Excellent, courteous and friendly service
The hotel was clean, well maintained, the food was very good and the service reallu good overall.
The only problem was with the room which was smelling moldy and humid. I did not ask for a room change because I had already asked for one as the first room that was assigned was located on the 4th floor with no elevators and my aunt of 70 y-old with whom I was travelling could not walk that many stairs. The hotel personnel tried to fix the problem to no avail.

Grand Oasis Cancun: great food, great staff and a fun resort
The Oasis is a great entertainment resort. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and Joys trattoria very much. The menu at Joys includes steak and the best tasting chicken parm, the spaghetti was delicious. The snack bar area had tasty chicken, burgers, hot dogs, an ice cream machine and a taco stand. We did not visit the chinese restaurant as we heard it wasn't so great. One thing they sure have good recipes in Joys and the buffet, I hope they never change the recipes. The snack bar advertised tacos[... read more] but only had soft shell, hard corn shells would be nice. The meat, vegetables and deserts are amazing, breakfast was always excellent! The mexican restaurant could use a bit more mexican dishes like fijitas, and the dinner for two was skimpy, three prawns for two and a bunch of pork rinds, barley enough for one. The red circus was just plain weird. The costumes were cool but it made no sense, it was a long and drawn out show. A mexican or mayan themed show would be much better. The grounds and rooms are clean and very pretty. There is so much to do just in the resort. The entertainment was very entertaining, except the red circus. We are older people and enjoyed the beach club with the young aldults and the Coyote Loco club. At times the halls get very noisy with the bar hoppers getting in at 6am and it echos throughout. Maybe some weather stripping around the doors would help curb the noise. The reception on the television was lame with a constant hum, but who is there to watch tv? The beach is fantastic, soft clean sand with a huge beach area with lots of beach chairs, in fact there are many seating areas to choose all over the hotel area. The ocean waves and colours are beautiful. Some hotels we have been at in Cancun we could never get good beach or poolside seating, the Oasis had plenty. there was no garbage or sea debris on the beach or coming ashore. The staff was always happy, friendly and quick to serve, seldom did we wait long for anything. The line for the buffet was less than 5 minutes. The mexican restaurant was 10 minutes. Check in was a long wait with a rookie leaving us in limbo for about a half hour. Drinks were very tasty and innovative. We had issues with the towels but once we complained (twice) it was promptly taken care of. There's lots of single young people (30ish) but never out of control. Sure the hotel is doing upgrades but the construction was not loud or interfering. As far as construction we highly recommend some railings. The large beach stage has a step within itself. The whole stage is about 10 feet from the ground and there are no railings. The stairs leading to the beach have a rise in each step that is too large. The rise is too high for the injured or the disabled, and there are no railings. Grandpa is a carpenter and has recommendations. Access to the beach is limited if you are disabled or injured. A ramp with a gradual slope and railings would help everyone safe access to the beach. If you put two ramps at opposite ends of the beach access, making an "O" would look very nice, one ramp over the garden on the south? The open area between coffee n us, Coyote Loco, the buffet and Joys got extremely slippery when it rained and a lot of people fell and got injured. Most of the walkways are covered but that area is not. The little ones had a kids club, the little kids all seemed very happy. Everyone seemed very happy. We had a fantastic time at the Oasis and we would definitely go to this hotel again. I am sure the Oasis would love to have us back. Grandpa and Grandma they called us.The Oasis is great place, we made plenty of friends, we highly recommend this hotel.

Riu Dunamar: place was fantastic. why are people complaining
For a brand new resort and reading all the complaints I was expecting the worst and received the best.
There are a few tiny areas where they need to work the kinks out . Did these kinks ruin our holiday NO!!.
The resort just opened 1 1/2 prior to our trip and the staff are working very hard to make this a perfect experience for you. Nothing wrong with the rooms. Frosted glass on the shower is NOT a big issue and the A/C noise others have complained about goes un noticed after the first [... read more]day. Its like living next to an airport or railway tracks,. You don't even notice after you get used to it.
Beach was great, as were the four pools. The water park was a fun way to spend an afternoon. It was staffed lots of life guards who were always watching to make sure the sider riders were OK after each splash into the water.
Food was excellent both at the Buffett and the al a cartes . I have no idea what the complainers are talking about on this topic. I guess they should stay at home and have their maids and butlers prepare their gourmet meals for them.
Entertainment was your average resort stuff. The entertainment staff worked very hard to get people out of their loungers and participating. If you don't want to play games , don't sit at the games pool . to easy
After reading all the complainers reviews prior to leaving we were wishing we had not booked . I'm soooo glad we did. This place is very nice and We would not hesitate to go back again!!!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Nice Resort
My daughter and myself really enjoyed our stay the rooms could be updated but we were not in room much only to sleep maybe more comfortable pillows would be better also include free wifi and safe lock with the all inclusive package that would be alot better but the food was great but could be more variety between lunch & supper as it was same at buffet almost but overall nice resort lots of music and nice pool beautiful beach just be aware there is not much shaded areas if you need to get out of[... read more] sun if you burn easily or cake on the sunscreen haha if you have kids on your trip not worth upgrading to the black wristbands as they are mostly for going to more restaurants and bars which kids are not allowed in the upgraded ones anyhow so if you upgrade services only not worth the extra expense
the rooms were average could of been worse so we are still happy thanks and the cleaning people and people who stock the mini fridge were very friendly as well as the front desk check in guy he was sooo friendly and very helpful so we had a great trip thank you😃

Oh Cancun The Urban Oasis: Okay Hotel, friendly staff
The hotel is clean and the rooms are very nice. However it is right on a busy street and it can get tricky to cross the road and/or have a lot of traffik noise at any time of day/night if you end up with a room facbing that busy highway. There was confusion with our booking ( got a regular room instead of the suites we paid for in the first couple nights). there isnt much to do on the property and it was mostly empty the week we were there (Jan13-19). For those reasons i would book elsewhere for[... read more] a little more money ( hotel zone ).
Just returned from a 7 days stay at Moon Palace, Nizuc (January 15th-22nd)
Really loved the resort, service is great, staff very polite and courteous.
Food was amazing, the best of all the all inclusive resorts that I have being. I spoke with one of the managers at the buffet restaurant and she made sure the chef would prepare food for my 6 month old baby
The resort is massive, lots of walking, they have buses and golf carts but still had to walk quite a bit.
The pools are nice and clean b[... read more]ut the beach not the best, lots of seaweed.
The Grand was my favourite section, I would definitely return and stay there. Heated pool, huge water park, bigger, newer and nicer rooms. More restaurant options and apparently better food (didn’t know it could get better) but didn’t see the ice cream cart around the pool area like I saw in the Nizuc and Sunrise
The Nizuc was smaller and more fun, with great activities around the pool and beach.
Sunrise is where the kids playroom is nicer and bigger and they also have a kids pool/splash pad
We didn’t get bored not even in a rainy day.
I was prepared to be bombarded by the time share people, after reading some reviews. It was not bad at all they offered a breakfast at the Grand so you get to go there without paying for the day pass, since I knew it was a “trap†I just declined and had 2 little kids with me so wasn’t difficult, they never asked or offered anything again
Check in was fast, empty room, they offered some snacks and drinks which where great. I guess I arrived at a good time. Check out was long and busy but the staff was making sure to get you trough a bit faster.
I recommend the resort and would go back

Oleo Cancun Playa: Wonderful Improvements!
We have been staying here for around 15 years. The renovations and additions add so much to the resort. The spa and gym are great additions and the usual terrific access to the beach keeps us coming back. Over the years the staff have proven to be always among the most friendly, helpful and caring we have ever encountered in all our travels. The food was more fresh and tastier than the large luxury resorts and we look forward to the completion of the other restaurants as planned. Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: For easy to please travellers
If the weather had been better, I wouldn't have noticed as many minor things. It was very clean, some staff were friendly and provided good service. It's a small place so had it been warmer, there would have been much more competition for the few chairs at the beach and pools, but I had no trouble on the cloudy and windy days. They don't have food warmers so the buffet food was not kept hot and variety was limited, but adequate. No guacamole was a disappointment considering the region. Francisco[... read more] works hard making omelettes at a pretty fast turnaround. Javier at the beach restaurant was friendly and provided great service. Go there at lunch for a la carte orders because it comes to you nice and hot. Great tacos there. Esteban and Jacquelina on the animacion team were both wonderful. She was super friendly and a great karaoke host. Esteban is a fantastic dancer and wonderful with people. Weather prevented me trying the spa services as they are in an outdoor tent. Room was basic, but adequate and kept clean. On the last day however, after I checked out I was questioned about a broken night table lamp shade. It had been like that when I checked in, but I was being accused of breaking it. Somehow the cleaning lady only noticed it on my last day. But there was no glass, so it substantiated my reasoning. I did not appreciate being accused. I have heard of this happening in other reviews. This was my turn I guess - so folks, take pics of your room right when you arrive to note any damage up front. They dropped it based on my reaction. It had been written in pencil on my check out card. I imagine if I had paid some kind of charge, that money would disappear and the note erased. Anyway, it was sorted. I recommend this place if you just want beach, sun, and cheap and cheerful accommodations/meals. If you are used to more, you won't be happy. One other thing, seems in the main restaurant, at lunch and dinner when I dined alone, no one ever came over to offer me a drink. Only if I dined with friends. Every other table around me every day was served drinks, several throughout their meal. Not sure why they shun single diners, but it was noticeable. I think it was a world apart from the 4 star I stayed at a few years ago though, so I think calling it a 3 star was generous. I would say 2.75 max., but again, it was adequate.

Hello Carol
Thank you for picking the resort for me . I had a blast.
But I payed for a direct flight down there...
The flight so called fueled up in Halifax but the took us to Toronto to fuel up again.
Took over a hour and a half to fuel up and then they ran out of food after the first 6 isles.
I payed for a direct flight and it didn’t work out so I want part of my money back. I payed extra and they couldn’t perform.

Moon Palace Cancun: Had a great time!!
Let's start with the beach. There was a lot of seating especially at The Grand section. The beach sand was white and very fine. The water was good, some seaweed and sea shells in the water.
The weather was a bit chilly and overcast the week we were there. The beach was pretty empty and the only busy pools were the ones at the grand tgat were heated.
I stayed in nizuc section but went to the grand section every other day. You have to pay about 30 dollars US to go.
The activities were[... read more] plentiful and there was always something to do. Volleyball, biking, ping pong, Flowrider, etc.
Staff was fairly friendly and food was pretty good. They ask about allergies but it's hard to find a staff member who knows the ingredients in a recipe.
I'd be super happy if there were an ingredient card!
Great time overall.
