Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Run down but clean

Room was clean but run down. Shower head kept falling off and hot water was scarce. Furniture was tired looking both in public areas and rooms. Service was good for the most part but we did wait over 20 ministers for a very small pizza only to be told they ran out! Drinks from different bars tasted completely different .. some bars drinks were like koolaid or tang, not real juice. Food was decent for Cuba but they should improve their a la cartel meals. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not all its hyped up to be

This hotel is not at all what I was expecting having a 4 start rating. The bed was very uncomfortable. The A/C unit was soooo loud that you could hear it as soon as you got to the top of the stairs to the hallway outside! You could not carry on a conversation inside the room with it on and expect to be heard, and we had to turn it off at night just to sleep. which made for a very uncomforatable sleep in 30+degree weather. And it was not fixed for the entire week we were there. They also promised us a bottle of wine in our room that we also did not recieve. The food was pretty good, and the beach was amazing, but it looksnothing like in the photos now since the hurricaine, all the buildings are white and there are no roofs on some buildings that previously had them.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing beach.

One of the nicest beaches anywhere. Food was okay, front desk staff need customer service training, would not address issues until a manager was made aware of the issues we had. Bar staff at sanctuary and swim up bar were exceptional.

This resort is the civilized part of the 3-part Memories Resirts. It’s adukts only and you get a butler to boot! Rooms are modern and contemporary and the best of the last 10 resorts I’ve been to in Cuba.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent Resort and Best Beach!

I've been to several properties in Cuba and it had all that I was looking for. Rooms are very clean, and bed was very comfortable. The food was fresh and there was an excellent selection including "make your own" stirfry, omelet, skewers, and pasta bars. Pool area may be small during peak season but you would want to relax on the gorgeous beach. Staff were friendly. I'm not interested in evening entertainment at resorts so I cant comment on that. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort. I recommend

We really enjoyed this Resort. They treat you very well , the food was excellent, the pool was beautiful and clean; they provided a lot of activities at the pool. The cleaning staff were excellent as was all the staff. The rooms are close to the beach. The sanctuary lounge was exceptional. Great premium drinks and great live music. I recommend Sanctuary. It's worth the additional cost, hands down.

I was very excited about going to Cayo Coco as I've never been to Cuba. I expected more for my money, this resort was not what I expected. I realize they went through a hurricane 8-9 months ago and had to make major repairs. The resort should not have been open until completely repaired but it was open and it should have been better then what it was. We had no hot water for most of our stay, we did report it to the front desk, they sent someone to fix it but we only had one hot shower each and  [... read more]lukewarm to cold water until we left to come home. Most of the staff were friendly but one staff tried to charge me twice for a Wi-Fi card but my husband handled the situation. The excursions were too expensive for what was offered, I know they want to rebuild and make money but some excursions were way over priced. The beach was gorgeous, it was the best part of the resort, the weather was ok being their winter/spring seasons which meant lots of rain. I didn't mind the food, it was good but towards the end of the trip I got tired of eating the same food. This resort could be better if they put more work into it. I don't think I will return to this resort.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Lacking in entertainment.

It has an amazing beach. The staff are great. The resort definitely lacks in entertainment. In order to do any dancing you have to take a bus to another resort. Everything in this resort closes down at 11 p.m. Don't think I will be back there.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ok Resort

This resort is a 3 star rating not 4. Main lobby, bar and restaurant was fine. But, rooms were outdated, plumbing/fixers poor and furniture was cheap. Food was good and lack choice of tropical fruits. I have been to Cuba 5 times at 4 plus resorts and this one rates the lowest. But, I love Cuba for the people and the beautiful beaches.

Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome Hotel

Not a single complaint, was fully satisfied with everything from the staff to the rooms to the actual layout of the resort itself, very well done, I was especially pleased with the variety and quality of the food, as well as the fact that there were many unique flavors, not plain and bland like some other places I’ve stayed, extreme value here, I will be returning 😊

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Time

This was our first time Down South so we do not have anything to compare too. Food was actually pretty good, albeit I'm not a picky eater, however my wife is and she still found things to eat. You will not go hungry by any means. we preferred the Buffet over the A la Carte meals. Rooms were a bit dated and there was some visible water damage in the hallways and such. We had an issue with the key cards and card reader on the door. They changed our room on the third day and no issue after that. [... read more] and for the time you are actually in your room, wasn't a big deal at all. However I will say the Tubs are very high and can be hard to get in and out of, so be careful there. The Staff are simply amazing, very friendly, all wanted to make sure your time was a memorable one, and it most definitely was. We spent most of our days on the beach (we are not really pool people) , and the beach was one of the best we have ever experienced, white sands, warm clear water, plenty of huts to get out of the sun, and we never had any issues finding beach chairs at all. The few days we spent at the pool were fine, the middle pool (the one with the bar) was pretty shallow, good to cool off in. And everyone was having a great time there. Didn't spend any time at the upper pool, but again we spent our days at the beach, but a lot of activity and games at the larger, upper pool. We did the Cuban Sugar rum , excursion and would 100 percent recommend it to anyone. Its a long day, but you get to see and do plenty of activities. if you like to dance, the Disco in the cave is a must, best night we had was on that night. Overall we had an amazing time and would and will be going back.

i had such an amazing time i would definelty reccomend this to other people i already have . the food was amazing the people working at the reosrt are very kind and helpful overall it was an amazing trip and just cant wait to go back.

Grand Memories Varadero: ok

Hi, Was told the food was not very good. Place was large, clean, pool bar fun, people nice, but had to change rooms due to bed bugs. Was told he wouldn't stay at this resort again nicer resorts for the premium price he paid.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach, great resort

The breach on this resort is just beautiful. The rooms are spacious (we had a junior suite in building 9) but the bed slightly hard, my hips were feeling slightly sore the last couple of days. The food was decent, the Italian restaurant was by far our favorite all a carte. The pools were good to, but they close by 6pm. The beach bar closed at five so that kind of sucked but overall we really enjoyed this resort and would return. Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing time as always

I always go to this hotel when I go to Cuba. It’s a great atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. You can take the bus to go to varadero markets, that was fun. Never once was I afraid and to go back to my hotel I took a old 1956 something..lol that was cool and cheap as well. I plan on going again next year and this time alone. Can’t wait!! Next time I will book at Sanctuary since I’ve never been but keep hearing good things about it. I always leave my salt and pepper shakers with the cooks and they really show you there appreciation. All in all I love this place and would recommend it no problem.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort

Memories Caribe is a nice, not great resort. Staff is terrific and try very hard to accommodate. It is a very good resort if you get accommodation in the new, remodelled area, or the Diamond Club. I was in the old section and while the rooms are large, they are tired and can be troublesome. The bathroom in particular needed work. The toilet seat was broken, the shower and sink water was luke warm at best and the shower head was very loose, causing water to spill onto the floor. Also, the t [... read more]emperature gauge was broken which caused the room to be very cold even on the low fan setting. On the positive side, the ground were well maintained, the food was very good and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately they allow the guests to come down to the beach very early in the morning and put towels on all the chairs, making it difficult to find a decent spot. I had to be down their by 7:30 in the morning, or I wouldn't find a spot.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing Resort!!

This resort was amazing. I’ve only been to Cuba twice and have been to this resort both times and would go every time. The staff were amazingly friendly and made you feel at home especially Alberto, who was working at the pool in the Paraiso resort... amazing! The rooms were super clean, cleaner than most hotels I’ve stayed at in Halifax. The food was fantastic as well with tons of variety!! If you have to choose , choose this resort , hands down:)

Had a great week, staff is incredibly friendly and fun. Food was pretty good and drinks were fast and tasty. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Only thing, we had an amazing ocean view in building 1 but had a little ant issue. Nothing crazy.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

Very nice Rooms. Staff are very friendly. Food very good. Pool nice, Entertainment very good. Overall very good Experience except we have only seen the Air Canada Rep once Tuesday morning for about 15 min. He gave us a sheet about the expensive Excursions but never told us that we could take a Bus, rent a Motorbike or take a Taxi. Will go back any Time but not with Air Canada.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: First time at a memories resort and last time!!!

I use Trip advisor all the time to plan our Vacations and have never made a post about a vacation. Well i need to tell people about this resort. We booked with Sunwing. Flights down where amazing got to resort in good time and bus ride was fast and fun. As you come into resort they give you a paper to fill out and form two lines and hand out rooms at that point and you walk and try and find your room and a guy will bring your bags to your room. We arrived at our room and found we had single beds [... read more] and broken A/C. I mean it was not even installed it was sitting on the floor at bottom of stairs. So, we went back to front desk as buddy rolled his eyes cause we came back he gave us another room which was even worse the smell was bad a/c was lacking and the roof had black mold and blood stains all over the wall. So, we go back to front desk and they would even listen to us and said we are sorry that's it.......CAN'T HELP you. and then ignored us and moved on to next person at this point we called sunwing rep and Toni Toni help us out. he found us a room that the a/c work and no smell. Toilet didn't work and we had no hot water but it was cleaner. But with promise of new room the next day after people checked out. So next day came and after 4 we had to move again. We arrived and new room on ground floor room was clean maid was awesome. Bad things about upgrade room was no TV working not big deal...... Door would not lock and vents where missing and a plastic bag in its place to stop things from coming in room we thought !!!!!!!! until we found cockroaches in our room but we were told it is cuba by customer servers lol . Again, no hot water but its fine the beach water was beautiful lol. At the bars at night they let their employee drink and eat at the bar and mingle with the people staying at resort and if you’re in line and they walk up they will stop and serve them first???? Also one of the young girls that was staying at the resort with her friend had been approached repletely by 3 young male workers and notes under her door saying inappropriate things!!!!! Food was ok but not a big variety and every day they were short something One plus they have homemade pizza on the beach so good. The grounds were well kept Pool was nice not enough chairs if you still decide to go to this place get your Money changed at airport as it is way cheaper. They need to put more people at front desk that can speak English and have people skills Flight back was the worst ever serves and food suck and was expensive and landing was scary!!!
