Secrets Playa Mujeres: Beautiful beach and resort

The resort grounds, and restaurants are well maintained. They're renovating rooms starting next month so I'm sure they'll be nice. Food was great. It's a personal choice but we could always find something good. Service and staff was excellent- always pleasant and helpful. The beach was gorgeous.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Extraordinarily lovely resort!

The Joia Paraiso by Iberostar is an amazing adult only resort. The hotel decor is lavish and ornate. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and impeccably maintained. We went for a lovely walk every day .We spent most days by the quiet pool where all loungers/ beds are available in curtailned cabanas. The service here is extraordinary. For a special treat take in the Spa pool complete with juice bar, warm whirlpools and massaging shower heads. The beach is beautiful..all deep sand..not rocky..very little seaweed.Overall a great experience!

Riu Tequila: brilliant hotel

really enjoyed my stay hotel was very very clean staff were brilliant rooms very clean and the food was very good well worth the money a 5 min walk to the beach or you could get the mini bus but was better walking down a private entry shaded so it was cooler

Hotel Castillo Huatulco: Great resort!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Castillo from February 26-March 05, and it was wonderful. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious and they offered varieties. The rooms were clean and of good size. The bathroom had a foul smell in the early mornings and there is a musical tour bus that goes around in the night and if your room is facing the street it will keep you up for a while. Riu Palace Kukulkan: Dream Vacation

Hotel was amazing, so clean and fresh, there was a lot food to choose from and plenty, the pool was great always some kind of game or party going on and lots to drink. Everybody was just so happy to see you, there were night shows from mariachi to pop music or games. They really took care of you. We'll definitely coming back!

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Great adult only resort!

We had a wonderful time at this lovely resort. Most of all the service at the entire place was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone was so helpful, cheerful and the goal was to please. The food was great - and so many choices - to keep us happy. There was an abundance of choices for entertainment nightly. The flight with Air Transat was problem free and organized. We would definitely recommend this adult resort to others. Nancy

Costa Sur Resort and Spa: Quiet location

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Costa Sur. Yes the property is dated but location is superb and clean. They are working on renovating! We had a suite on the 8th floor and views of whales and the sound of crashing waves could not be beat. This is the quietest resort we have ever enjoyed in the PV area. Bed was comfy and room was cleaned spotlessly every day by Yanet. Bathroom was large and shower worked well. Kitchenette came in handy for snacks. Daily bottled water would have been nice however [... read more] we had no problem buying a big jug at the mini market in the lobby. Loved that we could hop on the local bus for 10 pesos to go into town (10 minutes) and explored Mismaloya and Boca de Tomatlan (20-30 minutes). Lots of great restaurants not far away. The Cascada restaurant on site was good and we had great service from Rafael, Mauricio and many others. Staff are simply wonderful! Only suggestion would be to have gluten free bread and buns available for those who need them. Staff were good at accomodating gluten free requests otherwise. We loved being able to swim on the beach in the sheltered lagoon. Only thing missing was a walkable beach. Note that when tides are high the beach is closed off. This happened one day of our stay.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Decent but will not return

We stayed 7 days Feb 27-March 6th. As soon as we all got to the resort we went to the bar to try and find a table then when we finally did.. we had to clean and wipe down the table then waited for service and waited. Which did not come. We squeezed up at the bar and got some cocktails. Sadly the hard alcohol at the resort is aweful. Beer and basic teqiilla were fine and the wine . The inside lobby bar was the best and Saul who worked it was the best. Totally cares for his Craft. The pool bar [... read more] was fine and service was available from your pool chair. The pool cafe was delicious and everything made to order. The fries were yummy and the quesadilla were the best. Pool chairs were hard to come by and got taken up by 9am. Towels that were placed to hold were removed by staff after about 35 min which is good thing otherwise no one would have a good place to lay. The pools are average and we lost the best pool for a day as someone pooped in the pool. The beach was small and tons of the seaweed floating in and out of the water. Lots of rocks so bring water shoes. Not enough beach chairs for sure. Our first room overlooked a mug pile and stunk of sewage so the changed our room with a better view but the balcony had a high cement wall so we could not enjoy it. Rooms were average. Nice shower. The AC was poor and motion operated so when you left and came back after hours in the beating sun the room temp was 24-25 and took way to long to go down to 21.5 which was the lowest it would go. Buffet breaky was good but long lineups to get in. Good service in most of the restaurants. We loved Willain in the Italian restaurant. He went over and above and excellent at his job. My sister only had hot hot water for one day then the last day they had no water at all. They were also doing maintenance work below our room at 315am! Loud banging as they were removing floor tile. Basic service was fine. Food was fine. Alcohol was Meh. Had floral taste in the gin and vodka so make sure you go ask for a specific brand. Great latte snack bar open 24 hrs. Get the latter with Baileys. yummy. iced or hot. All in all we all agree we would not return to this resort. However if you have nothing to compare it to you will be fine. Our group of 6 have been to mexico many times and had experienced better resorts.

Coral Princess Hotel and Dive Resort: Good price, Nice area

Hotel: 4 out of 5 star Pros: Nice hotel in the north hotel zone. Clean area inside and outside. Pool/Ocean area we had no problems getting a lounge chair or getting a drink. Due to it not being all inclusive you wont deal with the drunk buffoons. Ocean was a good place to snorkel with plenty of fish/sealife in the area Cons: A bit far from town, 1.5 miles/2.4 km so 15-20 min walk or 100 peso cab ride. They do not have a complimentary shuttle bus or city buses in that area. We just rented sc [... read more]ooters for the week which cost about double what the taxi rides would have cost. The pool was on the cold side 23c/75F which was very noticeable compared to the ocean temperature. They don't have a beach, you climb out via a ladder and the ocean is about 15ft deep when you get in. Restaurant and bar are closed at 5 which is very early compared to the rest of the area. Room: 3 out of 5 star Pros: Nice room, bed was comfortable with a reasonable amount of space in the room for the price. Bathroom was large with stand up shower and sink. plenty of room for 2 people to live comfortably for 7 days Cons: No fridge! you need to ask if they have one available at the front desk (they had one available for us). If they do it is free of charge but as it is not all inclusive and we were making breakfast and lunch as well as keeping drinks cold a fridge was needed. The hot water in the shower was very strange. it would go from ice cold to scalding hot back and forth every 30 seconds if you didn't get the dials within a 1/4in of the sweet spot Staff: 4.5 out of 5 stars Pros: Friendly staff, they helped us with every single thing we asked for. Lobby, cleaning, bar and concierge staff were all helpful if you asked we asked for something. I forgot to pay the bar bill one day and they were not rude about it at all. A few of them were very direct without a phony smile on there face but were still helpful when needed. I honestly cant understand why some trip advisor posts had directly said they were rude. Cons: None Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 Pros: Room, Lobby, Pool area not once did i come across any area that wasn't clean. i didn't use the public bathrooms so i cant say but our room was cleaned everyday, the maid even cleaned our dishes for us which i was not expecting Cons: None Food: N/A We never ate at the restaurant as we purchased what we needed. The bar was good, prices more expensive then other places and much higher then buying from the store. If you do decide to buy your own food and alcohol go to Mega for Walmart type items (generic items) or the Chedraui if you want groceries (specific items). Prices are around 30-40% cheaper for a lot of items then prices in Canada, so probably 60% cheaper for our Yank neighbors and both stores were comparable in pricing

Melia Cozumel: Great Resort

The resort was good, i did need an elevator for my walker and i booked the ocean view and was told it had elevators but it did not. The gardenview and upgrade building did have elevators and the resort did upgrade us at no charge because of their mistake. The beach was lovely. The resort is small which we preferred. I didnt enjoy the buffet. There was an amazing restaurant 7 min walk down the street called the Lobster house that was great and reasonable. The staff was great. Catalonia Royal Tulum: A bit of Paradise!

The Catalonia Royal Tulum is a beautiful resort carved out of the jungle and situated on one of the most beautiful beaches, Xpu-Ha, pure white sand and crystal clear water. We were attracted to this resort for several reasons, the location, it's size and the fact that it is adults only. The grounds, buildings and facilities are immaculate. The staff have definitely been trained to deliver exceptional customer service in all areas of the resort. Plenty of selection for dining options and open ai [... read more]r dining, including the Palapa, outdoor patio at Sorrento and Tao Cat restaurant. The beach and the pool area are pristine, with plenty of loungers, services and activities. Guests love the bar in the Palapa and swim up bar. The lobby is a great place to chill in the evening often with entertainment and another great bar Margaritas. It was hard to leave this piece of paradise, we will definitely return.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Not What it Once Was

The grounds are very well kept. The rooms...you get what you pay for. The food is hit or miss. There is no pool side service, the beach bartenders are disinterested at best, the a la carts have become very difficult to book, and this is also the first time I've ever seen a cockroach scurrying under the lounge chairs by the pools.

Riu Dunamar: Very clean and pretty gardens everywhere!

All the resort was kept well, cleaned through out the day! The staff was welcoming and polite! The one thing that needs to change is perhaps adding another little shop with more clothing! All the prices in the existing shop were over priced ! When I ask about any baby things, which I wanted to purchase; I was told "there's the door!" I realize that maybe the person didn't understand what I was asking!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Comfortable

The resort on first approuch was excellent, front end staffing was top end along with all services to our villa. Resturants were clean,friendly and had good value for a all inclusive. Buffet was well staffed however at best in 10 days table service was less than desired and hot food was at best warm unless you waited for fresh turns. staffing in this area need more training to reduce running back and forth for item such as coffeemate as in Mexico cream seem to be unavailable. Room was comfortabl [... read more]e ,clean with great maid service however needs to be update as far as furnishing go to provide better comfort exspecially to linen blankets and towels. enjoyed our trip even through it was a little expensive to what we recieved.

GR Solaris Lighthouse: Relaxing and safe vacation

The hotel was very clean with very professional and courteous staff. The food choices at the all-inclusive were great and it was nice to have options to book at the 3 onsite restaurants. There were lots of activities both on and off the resort including the popular aquafit in the main pool. The lighthouse sky bar provides an awesome panoramic view around the area and the sushi restaurant shouldn’t be missed (book early). There were two Costco-like stores within walking distance, connected by a p [... read more]edway. There was an estuary within walking distance and there were miles of beach to walk along and a natural area close by to enjoy. The Thursday evening art walk, accessed by the local bus or a 30-minute walk, shouldn’t be missed. Be very wary of the onsite vacation club solicitation. The freebees they offer are not worth the high pressure sales. This all-inclusive is under new 100% Mexican owned and they are working hard to revitalize the resort.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Love this resort

We were here for 10 nights and everything was amazing. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. Love the layouts of the resorts, with all the pools across the back and separated by a pathway from the beach. The food at the buffets was great and the a-la-cartes were fabulous. Even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous time and would definitely go back.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Friendly

It's a colorful place, I hope it stays that way once the renovation is completed. Beach is nice, food is good, atmosphere is friendly. Place is kept spotlessly clean. A bit noisy at times. Can get crowded on weekends.

El Dorado Royale: Great Week at Eldorado Royale Resort

My wife and I just had a great week at the Royale. The food was exceptional, some of the best food we have had at an all-inclusive resort. The Royale had many pools, so lots of options to find a great spot to find your day. The beach is rocky so ocean swimming is challenging, but we knew this well in advance. The rooms are a bit dated, but extremely functional - very clean, fridge well stocked, bed very comfortable, and AC worked very well. Overall, we have a fantastic week and we would definitely return.
