Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing resort

Everything was perfect, resort was super clean and all the staff was super friendly and a beautiful place to get married at, also has amazing wedding planners and the photos they take are to die for!!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Unfulfilled promises

While the resort was not bad, it certainly didn't live up to the expectations it created. TL;DR - restaurants open once or twice a week and are fully booked before you get there, jacuzzi are not heated, never saw the butler we paid for, the gym is the small and one of the two treadmill remained broken all week. Don't waste your money here when you could afford a Sandals vacation or The Royal Playa Del Carmen for the same budget, much bigger bang for you buck. It was disappointing to hear that although the website advertise 6 restaurants, only 1 or 2 are open per nights. We were looking to book each of them once and Don Pablo twice. The Takara was only open the night we got there and was fully booked. The lady at the guest reception would tell us that most of the other nights were booked as well only to magically find a table after she saw our dispair. On our first night of a la carte restaurant we rushed to be on time since it was written that they would only hold the reservation for 5 min. When we got there, the doors opened 7 minutes late. Once inside the restaurants, and throughout our meal we observed that close to half the tables remained empty. The food was good most of the time but the trouble to get a table was more than what you would expect from a relaxing vacation. Now this will probably make one of the Bahia Principe write one of their "were sorry about this "isolated" situation and hope you come back" generic anwser like on the other comments but the fact remains that we saw other couples with the same full booked experience we did Pools - The pools were nice and clean but the "jacuzzi" are nothing more than cold pools with jets. We haven't found a single heated jacuzzi in all of Bouganville and when we asked a staff member confirmed our obesrvation. Butler - Our room rates included a bultler but i never saw one during our stay... Gym - Might be one of the worst gym i saw in over 50 resorts. It had 2 treadmill, one of which is broken. One bike, a couple of free weights and had children sitting on equipment playing games on their phone... Grounds and rooms - Tge grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the rooms are nicely cleaned. Beach - The palm trees on the beach were nice but the water was murky. Overall, the resort is okay but not for the price they ask. They try to punch way above their weight class and its just disapointing to spend hard earn time and money when you had much better experience elsewhere for the same budget or less.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: My trip

The public areas and grounds were lovely. My suite was okay but a little run down. The housekeeper was sporadic. Some days they cleaned early but other days when I returned to my suite at 4 pm, the suite had not been cleaned.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Favourite place to go!

This was my 4th visit to this resort, and the 1st time taking my kids (8,11) and it is perfect! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The lobby, indoor and out door sitting areas are beautiful and we could always find a spot to sit and have a drink. The pool area is on the small side and busy, but always meticulously clean and the beach is just amazing! The food was excellent there was always something for even our picky eater, and the staff were very pleasant and wonderful.

Luxury Bahia Principe is a great hotel. Lots of improvements need to be made to give them the 5 Star rating, but it is definitely an amazing overall experience. Would like to see some improvements with cleaning, dining etc.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Ambar

This is the second time we were at this resort ( the last was 10 years ago) It remains a stellar resort. The resort is beautiful and clean The food delicious and most importantly the people are the kindest most helpful staff !!!

The resort was beautiful. Very clean with cheerful staff. The rooms are spacious and clean.The beach was simply breathtaking. The only disappointment was the food . It was not very good, in comparison to other trips we have taken. We were pleased with using tripcentral for booking our vacation. Very organized and helpful.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wow!

This hotel was spectacular! Super clean , friendly and attentive staff. We had a minor issue with our room it had 2 single beds and my husband and I let the front desk know and they immediatly rectified the situation. Their was a fabulous variety of food at the buffet and it was delicious! Although it is not on the beach the shuttles run constantly and its a 10 min ride ..no biggie! Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Excellent resort!

This is the second time we visit the Fantasia, and we had a really good time as the previous time. There are however a few changes since the last time, and I will focus on those. The first change is that now it is not a "Luxury" resort like the last time (it was just open at the time, so that is probably why they gave it that denomination), and with that we thought we had lost some of the benefits, like being able to dine in the restaurants of the Esmeralda, and the Ambar. This is however not th [... read more]e case, as they seem to have been able to book us there this time also, even though the time they gave us was not as convenient: 9:15 PM for dinner with the kids was a bit too late after a long day full of activities in the sun. The booking of meals is still troublesome, as even though we sent emails in advance of our visit, we still got some inconvenient times, and not all that we wanted, and making changes is almost impossible, as they have to be approved by each restaurant. The other change is that a few things seem to be falling through the cracks, like the game consoles in the teen club, that do not have controllers anymore (but the kids club does have a Nintendo game console for them to have some screen time if you want them to), or the pool table not having proper cue sticks anymore. Those are just minor details, the hotel is still in top shape overall. The other interesting thing is that the Esmeralda opened their own Water Park, which is somewhat smaller than the one in Fantasia, but still a good variations, the kids went back and forth between the two (something that I believe you cannot do if you stay in the Esmeralda). The other thing we did a lot was play volleyball in the court by the sea, it seemed to be very popular, at times there were 6 teams, so the wait was long, but most of the time it was just 3 teams, so we had plenty of opportunity to play. There is also a court in the Fantasia by the gym, but it was usually empty, so we just played 1-1 or 2-2. Also, the gym is still great, with some new equipment, one of the best features of this resort if you are into that. Finally, the shows are fantastic, and it is a huge benefit to have a theater within the Fantasia, just be mindful that they are at 9 PM, so plan your meals accordingly.

Cayo Levantado Resort: superb resort

Amazing service,beautiful location,great attention to detail,clean elegant rooms,maybe a litte tired ,lovely beach.Strongly recommend.Ideal for adults.Staff friendly and attentive.Island location very scenicWould return again.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: A Wonderful Resort!

My husband and I spent seven days in late December at Luxury Bahia Príncipe. We booked a seaview room that had beautiful view from balcony. All staff are great and we had zero complaints. The resort is big and we were able to take long walks in the evenings and just to enjoy the very pleasant atmosphere. It was a bit difficult to make reservations for a la carte restaurants so we ended up eating at the buffet for a couple of nights. The beaches at Luxury side are narrow and the water is too shallow to allow a real swim. However, we went over to the Grand side for swims and water is very nice there. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time and would highly recommend this resort!

The good. Grounds are very nice and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. Rooms are large and well kept. Food was good but nothing outstanding. Bar selection as far as mixed drinks and liquor was very good on the Luxury side of the hotel. The not so good. Note: Dec 24th to Dec 31st. Resort was not full Waited at the airport for 1/2 hr at least after exiting the terminal. No sense of order or organization outside. Turned out we were just waiting for th [... read more]e bus to be moved from a parked position to the front of the terminal. A distance of less the 30 yards ???? The ride to the hotel from Montego Bay is a best 11/2 to 2 hrs and not the 45 minutes as advertised. This resort is approx15 min to Ocho Rios. No drinks or food on the bus. ( A couple Red Stripe or some cold water would have been nice). No washroom on the bus either. Most of this is tolerable, but does not indicate that I am in a 5 Star situation. One beer selection. Red stripe. This is a good beer, however a selection would not only be nice, but I think necessary. Tipping is essential at the resort to secure better service. Keep a bunch of singles handy if that is what your after. There are a few ala carte restaurants. The Brazilian steak house is not worth the time. Went once, not many people and I found out why ..... yuk. Apparently they have others, but for our week we could not go as they were booked up ?( remember resort is not full).... An Italian and a steak house. Couldn’t locate the steak house ?..... seemed to be a mystery ?????? As to it’s location. Had a few people ask if we knew where it was, couldn’t help them. Suggest trying to book the “ good “ restaurants before you go ???? I guess. The essential morning coffees seemed a big challenge in the beach restaurant. It was necessary to ask for it and it was slow coming to the table if at all. Usually we finished breakfast before we received our first cup. A small issue I guess, but my group starts the day with coffee. I would think a 5 star resort could manage this simple long standing ritual with out constant reminder. The beach is large, but man made. The main buffet restaurant was much better for overall service. This Hotel has plans to expand with an additional 1000 rooms being added. Hope they add enough restaurant options !!!! I have paid less for a lot more than this resort offered

The resort was spotless, the food was delicious and always available. The bartenders were very friendly and efficient. The only negative thing to say is that the butler service was non-existent. We can’t wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Impressive on Every Level

We stayed at the Luxury Ambar from Dec. 28th to Jan. 4th and we can’t say enough about the resort, the service and the food. This was our third stay at the Bahia Principe, having stayed previously at the Punta Cana and Amber Green. The Luxury Ambar is by far the best. It was difficult to connect and very sketchy when you did finally get connected. Apparently they are working on correcting this issue. We will definitely be returning for New Years if not before!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Huge Resort with immaculate grounds

The grounds are spectacular. Rooms are large and clean. Food was good. Really liked the ocean and the beach, which is a bit narrow and could be a bit crowded in the peak seasons. Very large resort with easy access to everything by carts always driving by...Would recommend...might go back??

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: awesome resort

amazing beach, great food, great staff, restaurants were good esp the garden grill, beef tenderloin, could put more beer in mini fridge, buffet was great lots to choose from pools were nice and entertainment was great, shopoing was good, too many vendors on the beach asking you to buy stuff almost every 10 minutes

I had a great room overlooking the pool. This wasn’t the case for some there, as they said the could hear the staff at 6:00 am and their room faced a wall. All the staff (and there are alot) were fantastic.!, Clean, clean, clean. I was happy to see the buffet at the beach, floors and tables were clean(as well as all the other locations) The same goes for the restrooms (all the different areas)

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great resort, ok food!

The topography and the resort is beautiful. The views are spectacular! It’s built on a cliff so it’s different than other beach resorts. The food is average but the French restaurant is great. Breakfast buffet is also good with lots of variety - fresh juices, fruits, egg station, etc. You will find something to eat for sure for all 3 meals!!
