This hotel was everything that we expected plus more !
It's small ( just what we like) the rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious ! Most of the rooms are all around the pool , therefore if your facing that side, a ground room is very nice !
The food was good ( no surprises) there is something for everyone for sure !
The A'LA CARTS were ok , our favorite was the Cuban restaurant, however , we truly enjoyed the buffet !
The pool is big and has deep parts LOVE IT ,the infinity pool is sim[... read more]ply amazing !!!!
The staff , are by far the best I have ever come in contact with , so friendly , helpful and kind !!
We have never went back to the same resort EVER .... we cannot wait to go back here !!!!!!!!

Hotel is new and is great shape.....Although too large for My personal preference, would highly recommend for families as lots for young children to do. Beach not the greatest with some rocks in water. However good long stretch in either direction for walking and exploring.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa Del Mar great experience
Stayed from March 21-28
overall our stay at Ocean Casa Del Mar was a great experience
the food was plentiful and delicious
rooms are excellent and always clean, frig topped up daily with water, beer and soft drinks. The only complaint would be the shower draining, if you have a long shower the water will end up spilling out onto the bathroom floor.
the resort is large, clean and the staff is always friendly.
the only downfall would be the beach. the beach is narrow and non exist[... read more]ent in high tide, however when you take a walk along the beaches of the Warwick resort, Ocean's beach is far better.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: relaxing vacation
We stayed at this hotel from March 24 thru to March 31. We had been upgraded to a privilege deluxe room in block 6 overlooking the ocean ( great room location - quiet, close to beach).
Room was comfortable, bed was harder than what we are used to; room was kept clean but shower and balcony was not cleaned during our stay; mini-fridge was filled everyday.
The hotel is beautiful although the grounds are young and struggle with the wind.
The buffet Restaurant food was ok in the morning but lun[... read more]ch and dinner was not appealing to us. We tried the privilege restaurant for lunch and the food and service was excellent but when we tried to go to dinner there the door was always locked and the one meal we did manage to get there was the lobster dinner which was not very good and the service level was poor. We had 3 dinners at the Neptune and the food and service was excellent each time. We also tried the grill on the beach a couple of times and the food was great.
Beach bar staff were great and attentive. The lobby bar had excellent staff and appeared to work really hard and the specialty coffees made there in the evening were the best we had during our stay. We tried mike's coffee bar as we had seen many reviews that were good unfortunately we did not find it that great and preferred the coffee in the downstairs bar.
Beach was great and you can walk quite a distance each way easily. There was always plenty of loungers and you did not have to get up early to get a lounger with shade.
Overall we had a nice relaxing time. The hotel staff ranged from great to almost indifferent regardless of tipping or not.
The biggest disappointment for me was that there appeared to be smoking in most areas - the whole of the downstairs bar allowed smoking in all areas. If you have mobility issues you may have trouble getting around easily as there did not appear to have the shuttles you usually see in abundance at other resorts. We also saw a lot of new arrivals that had to find their hotel room alone at the same time dragging their suitcases with them. It is also a long drive to the hotel.

Ocean casa del mar is an incredible resort for anyone to stay at. They accommodate all children, teenagers, families, and friends. Right when we arrived we can easily see the beautiful crystal blue water from the lobby. My children loved the fact we received 8hours of FREE internet from the workers, best of all not only does wifi work in the lobby but it also works in your hotel room. Food here is amazing has every variety and a lot of seafood.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Most beautiful resort!
Our small family went to this resort with our 2.5 year old son. We loved the rooms. The beds were very comfy, the rooms were very large and spacious. The balcony was a great way to spend late nights to have a romantic time together while our little one slept. The food was the best we've had anywhere. We did a few of the special restaurants but we loved the buffet more sometimes. The staff were very friendly. The only drawback back was the sales sharks that waited for us daily as we went into bre[... read more]akfast. They were friendly but persistent which we didn't like. The beach was rocky in the beginning but we knew this so we brought water shoes that helped. But it was beautiful. The water slide pool area for my toddler was so convenient and fun most times he could be on his own since the water was only a foot deep. We also loved the fact that we could sign out push cars for him so that we didn't have to bring a stroller
We want to go back next year. We felt 7 days wasn't enough to enjoy it all. Thank you Tania for how you booked a great pool facing room for us near the end and it was all perfect.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Exceptional Resort
We have been to Mexico at least a dozen times and this resort is way up there as one of our favourites. We stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa for the week of March 23. We upgraded to the Privilege Package and would recommend this for anyone who wants exceptional service and pampering. We only went to the buffet once, and that was because we were curious. ALL meals with the privilege package are a la cart . There are no words to explain how the food was, just simply outstanding. Our room was[... read more] well appointed with private butler service. 4 amazing pools and a very long stretch of soft sand beach for walks. We never had to do the towel dance in the morning like all other resorts we had been to, didn't matter if you arrived at 7am or 1pm, there was always chairs and a shade hut for you on the privilege section of the beach. Bar service to your chair all day long from the amazing Gabriella. What a jem she is for this resort. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make your stay a great one. Do not overlook this resort, it's amazing! Upgrade to the privilege section, its worth every penny!!!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort!
First time in Mexico and I was very pleased! Beautiful resort friendly staff! The grounds and buildings are well maintained and clean. Food was great... lots of selection for buffet and restaurants. Lots of pools! People that want to relax were able to find quiet on the resort and there is also lots of fun and entertainment if you're looking for that. We had a couple windy days so the water was a bit murky and a bit of seaweed but that didn't bother us... it's an ocean. They cleaned it up every [... read more]morning. The only thing I would have a complaint about is the air fresheners in the lobby sitting area being very strong smelling and the prices of the photos and some of the items in the gift store are super ridiculously overpriced.

Playa Vista Azul: A good experience for first time to Cuba
Rooms were new and very clean. My room faced a new hotel that was being built so heard construction very early in the am but not hotels fault. Lobby and infinity pool were beautiful! Only 1 buffet so it was at times crowded. Food was better than I was lead to believe for Cuba. It would have been nice if the a la cartes had taken reservations. We were a group of 9 so it was a very long wait. Mixed drinks were very good! Staff on the resort were very friendly and check in was very quick. Cab servi[... read more]ces were also very good.

Playa Vista Azul: Great new hotel with typical Cuban problems
Pros:
Lovely big rooms. We were in building two.
Beaches were incredible.
Most staff super friendly.
Food the best we have had in Cuba, especially freshly cooked fish.
Room staff were kind and kept our rooms super clean.
Hop on bus made it easy to explore area.
Rent a scooter right at the hotel.
Cons
Pools cold (not heated)
Showers hot or cold, not much in between.
Lobby bathroom dirty.
Food at buffet not often hot. Go for the fresh cooked stations.
Serving staff in buffet inexp[... read more]erienced and wine often watered down.
Hard to remember what bars/restaurants were open when. Wished there was one 24 hours.
Cuba isn't cheap anymore. Got 0.68 CUC per CAD
What to bring:
Facecloths
Kleenex
A roll of TP (we ran out)
Soap and shampoo.
Insulated mug for beach and pool area to keep drinks cold
Would we come back to Ocean Vista Azul: YES!
If the price is right may upgrade to Privilege room. At our departure it was $500 more per person so not worth it for us.

Playa Vista Azul: Week of relaxation at Ocean Vista Azul ((March 20-27)
We had a beautiful week of sunshine and relaxation.
Check in was smooth and quick. We were surprised during check in with an upgrade to one of the bungalows with ocean view.
The lobby was very nice with modern furniture. The infinity pool is beautiful and provides an awesome view of the ocean.
Our room was very nice with similar modern decor and bright colours. Unfortunately we did not have the name of the maid but she kept our room clean and surprised us with very creative designs on our [... read more]bed. Our maid was very honest as we left the safe open not once but twice, she left us a note on our door informing us why she could not clean our room but made sure to leave us clean towels in a bag outside our door.
We seemed to be too late to be able to enjoy the small beach during the day as there were no lounge chairs available but we did enjoy the sunset at this beach.
The larger beach is not as far as some reviews had indicated, less than a 5 minute walk. Your on holidays enjoy the walk and view. There were always huts with shade available, and the staff were quick to make sure lounges were available.
Pool was nice, with a choice of being on a the quieter side or be were the activities were. Pool staff were always willing to move lounges and set up umbrellas if needed.
Bar staff at both beaches, pool and by the theatre were always friendly and provided great service. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience with the lobby bar.
We did not go with high expectations about the food after reading the reviews prior our trip as we knew we always find something to eat that we would like. Our biggest disappointment was difficulty finding a clean table especially at night in the buffet, it seemed that the staff was stretched very thin. The Italian a la cart needs some work on efficiency as we observed that there was people being informed that there was an hour wait yet there was 6 empty tables. It could possibly be that more staff are required.
Excursions:
Private guided tour of Havana, fantastic trip and would highly recommend if you truly want to know the people and culture of Cuba.
Catamaran to Cayo Blanco, very professional and well done, much nicer than the catamaran trips in Punta Cana. Beach at Cayo Blanco is breath taking.
One morning we jumped on the double decker bus into Varadero, we experienced the true meaning of "the bus is full." Nice morning strolling the streets of Varadero.
Overall we enjoyed our vacation to Cuba and Ocean Vista Azul. We will be back one day but have other destinations to visit before returning.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great location
The resort is ideally located along a stretch of the ocean that makes all amenities easily accessible for all guests. There were many guests in a wheelchair or using crutches for a variety of reasons. The landscaping was simple but lovely. 3 pools all located near the beach with easy access to food and drinks.
The staff are constantly sweeping, pruning and keeping the resort very very clean. Service was very good and the food was EXCELLENT. High quality assortment in all restaurants which[... read more] didn't need a reservation except for the Japenese one which was very fun. The rooms were large with a large bathroom and a shower with excellent water pressure. Comfortable beds.
Only 25 minutes from the Cancun airport also a huge convenience.
The only downfall was the night life. The shows were terrible, I've travelled to 15 all inclusives over the past 20 years and I can honestly say that the shows were the worst that I've ever tried to sit through. Some duos who played in the lobby area in the evening were OK but the music was very low key and put everyone to sleep. There were technical laptop and sound issues with a couple other events that didn't start or started 45 minutes late. So the evenings were boring and too quiet. If you want quiet and a beautiful resort during the day with huge pool and great food - this is the resort .
The beach was great and the tractor cleaned up piles of seaweed every morning. It was so windy all week with red/yellow flags blowing all week. Sometimes it was hard to sit on the beach with getting sandblasted.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: New resort
My thoughts ~fresh resort/ in that, recently built so it feels clean and modern.
Food - Great. Following a vegan gluten free diet I found the fruit/smoothie/veggie/bean/salad options amazing.. along with the fries (might want to bring your own ketchup, there were shortages..).
Beach - clean and beautiful, believe it is cleaned as there was limited plastic pollution that could be seen, minus the beach bar plastic cups and straws that popped up here and there (tip: bring your own mug/ mason ja[... read more]r, say no to the straws I swear drinks taste the exact same w/o)
Money - bank gives rather big bills and no small ones for tips, you can ask the bartenders and servers for smaller change
The Grounds - rather barren, missed feeling the greenery/ garden aspect, baby palm trees.
Entertainment - didn't check it out, from the sounds of it though, fellow vacationers enjoyed it
Room - really liked, like mentioned - new/clean/modern/sweet bathroom with waterfall shower head wooo.
The crowd - my friend and I went together (in our later 20s), felt there was no one our age during our trip (really) otherwise it was babies (16-20), couples, families and retirees SO, our trip was quiet restful and calm, caught up on reading, sleep and vitaminsea

Playa Vista Azul: It's ok.
We flew Cubana air which was really cool on the way there. It is just like flying 20years ago. $3CAD a beer. And service was decent. Way home not so great 5 hour delay stuck in the airport with no apologies or reason why! Hotel is OK sixth trip to Cuba and it will probably be my last. Beach is not the best when the new hotel opens next door the beachs will be very crowded. Way too many people for the buffet and restaurants line ups were crazy. All the A La Cartes served the exact same food[... read more] as the buffet but on a plate. Of course not enough beach and pool chairs. Food was not good as per usual in Cuba. I did get sick for a few days and couldn't eat anything. Horrible stomach cramps. Beds really hard pillow just strange. All and all they do there best with what they have but the tourism has definitely went to their heads over the last 10 years. Cuba is for sure loosing its charm it used to have. They have become your typical pety scammers you get in every carribean country. He tips are never enough always wanting more. Then we have this CUC. That is the biggest scam they have. The exchange rate is more than the American dollar (around $1.47 for 1 CUC) when it is over 2 million Canadians that travel to Cuba per year. If you want to leave the resort for local things it is expensive. We didn't pay a lot for the trip so I guess you get what you pay for. I used to love Cuba. So I feel very sad that this has happened to the island.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Vacation
The hotel was lovely and clean. It does seem a bit older then one year but still modern just a bit rundown in some areas already. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice place, lack of service
We really liked the location and hotel. It was well maintained and the rooms were nice. What was really disappointing was the lack of service. They need way more staff to reduce wait times at the restaurants and to provide quicker service around pools. The pools also weren't heated so they were to cold to swim in on cooler days.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort
The resort is located in a great location with only a 20 minute bus ride. The resort was larger than I originally thought, but it goes horizontal with the ocean which was very nice, we spend 85% of our time laying on the beach enjoying the view of the beautiful turquoise ocean. The grounds surrounding the hotel are magnificent, the staff very efficient at maintaining everything. Plenty to do for whatever you're looking for. There's a kiddie pool, a Family Pool, as well as the party pool. The r[... read more]ooms were one of the nicest I've stayed in, nicely decorated with comfortable beds. My only disappointment with our room was, I requested and paid for Ocean View but only received partial Ocean View. That was a bit disappointing. There's Plenty of variety for dining and the food was quite tasty. There was daily different entertainment and activities throughout the resort. The only negative thing I would have to say in regards to this resort was the lack of information on activities going on throughout the resort. We missed out on many of the activities because we were unaware of them. We stumbled across some while out for a walk. We would have enjoyed participating in more.. I would recommend the front desk give you a pamphlet with their activities or leave something in your room. The staff was great, the bartenders were fantastic, I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend.
