Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: I’ll be back!

Amazing beach! Beautiful warm water and soft sand. Food was really good, much better than other resorts I’ve been to in Cuba. Very nice staff. Rooms were clean and air conditioning worked well. Nice small resort so everything is within a couple minutes walk. We all loved it!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Won’t be back

We were both looking forward to our time at this resort, but shortly after our arrival we received our first clue this was not going to be the vacation we anticipated when we found out they would not be able to serve us Mojitos all week because they didn’t have any mint! What?!? Doesn’t mint grow like a weed and aren’t we in Cuba? We quickly learned many things would not be available or would run out. The hotel turned off all the water several times for hours. Our room was hotter than it [... read more] was outside, many things are no longer working, and the worst memory we have is seeing a dog eating a feral cat for dinner right outside the lobby where most “guests” of the hotel congregate to meet friends and sit and drink. The sighting of the dog and his prey was reported to the staff by many guests immediately as this was extremely disturbing to see, but alas it took three days, yes THREE DAYS for the cat’s remains to be cleared away.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful resort

My boyfriend and I returned from Iberostar Ensenanchos on April 18 after being there for a week. Sunwing did a good job both ways and the resort is beautiful, very lush, well kept and the wildlife there is abundant (made for great photos!). Both beaches are top notch, the service was outstanding throughout the resort and our room (2610 Spa section) was clean, spacious and comfortable. (including the a la cartes). Be sure to partake in the lobby bar Pina Coladas and Cappuccinos! We enjoyed the spa pool at the end of long days at Megano beach (the closest beach to our room). The only downside of this resort for me was the snorkeling- it's my favorite thing to do on vacation and I've found the snorkeling better elsewhere (such as Holguin). As an English-speaking Canadian I felt like a minority at this resort- many of the tourists were European, many from France and even Russia, many were Spanish-speaking and there were many French Canadians (meanwhile my French spouse fit right in!). This is a resort that people tend to visit repeatedly and I can see why. I will also return at some point. Two thumbs up from me!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Declining facility

I stayed at this resort 4 years ago. First time I have ever returned to a resort and was disappointed. Entertainment was not as plentiful as my previous visit and buffet food not as good either. My partner was very sick with food poisoning after eating shrimp on our second night and we did not return to the buffet after that. A la carte restaurants were decent so we stuck to those for supper and the grill for lunch. I used to be very loyal to iberostar resorts but this is the second disappointing trip to this chain. They appear to be cutting back on services and standards and I will no longer be looking at Iberostar as an option. Veradero beach cannot be beat but find a better resort

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Third time at IPP

We have stayed at IPP three times over the past few years and it never fails to please us. It is the wonderful staff members we encounter at each visit that keep us coming back here not to mention the beautiful grounds, buildings and boardwalk. Cheers Dapa81

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: It was just OK

I have been to Varadero before with varying degrees of success. This was a hotel I was really looking forward to because it was an Iberostar and I have heard such good things. If this is an example of the Iberostar standard, I am underwhelmed. 1) At first, there was a mix up with our room which was resolved swiftly and with an apology so we were very encouraged. But the shower in the new room was filthy, the phone didn't work and despite service coming nothing got resolved. 2) As is typic [... read more]al in Cuba, you can get peanut butter, orange juice, etc...on some days but not on others. very odd. 3) The food in the buffet was never labeled, it is hard to know what you are eating when it is not identified, or identified wrong. An item was labeled as lettuce but was actually shredded green pepper. 4) People are just not very happy. With few exceptions, they just seem to be sad. 5) The grounds are nice, the pool is great, the beach is amazing. SOME of the food is delicious, some are awful (although I will admit this is the way it is with buffets) This is a 5 star, I fully understand that a Cuban 5 star is not a Mexican 5 star, but this does not meet even the Cuban 5 star standard. Go to the Blau Varadero, much better value for your money

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Blundell-Docherty Family

We thought that the Resort for the most part was amazing. The food was great, and the service was fantastic. The only issues we had was there was not enough signage throughout Resorts to know where we were, and also we were told it was not permitted to hold chairs by placing towels on them, yet every day everyone did it and it made it tough to find chairs.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beach need improvement

I was in Iberostar Ensenachos from April 12-19, 2019. I’d say that my overall experience was a good one. My only suggestion would be to add more umbrellas to the Megano beach front area. I had to wake up at 5:30 am to reserve a seat under an umbrella. I even witnessed a few patrons fighting on the beach for the shade. This is unacceptable. But the other parts were good.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Great Resort for the Price!

My girlfriend and I just got back from visiting this resort and were very impressed. A couple notes that might prove helpful: - 45 minute bus ride from to the resort in Punta de Mita (grab beers at the convenience store outside the airport for the ride) - Check in is very quick and easy - We got a room in building 1 on the second floor which we felt was perfect. Equal walk to lobby/restaurants and to the pool/beach - We never had to fight for seating at the beach or pool, but were always th [... read more]ere before noon. - get a coffee at the coffee shop every morning, well worth it - Download the iberostar app, it makes booking a la carte restaurants very easy. try to book them 3 days in advance to get the time you want. - A la cartes are the way to go for dinner. Meals are way better. We really enjoyed the Japanese and Steakhouse (Get the Prime Rib) - Buffet for Dinner is not bad, especially Wednesday nights for Seafood night but we found A la cartes to be the better choice - Service is very good at the resort, all staff willing to help - I feel like drink quality could be better. They arent watered down but there is no effort put in to the quality - Lunch at the beach bar is great! Food is simple and very good - We booked an excursion at the front desk to Marietta Island through the Vallarta Adventures tour. It was a decent tour but you are on the boat alot, not much time snorkelling or on the island. Took about 8 hours plus you have to arrange your own taxi. Tour was $80/person plus $30 cab each way. Dressels Divers offers a similar tour that leaves everyday at 9am right from the resort, its around 3 hours and is $100/ person. We never went on that one but feel with all the travel time, it may be the better option. We did see many dolphins and a 4 metre wide manta ray on the Vallarta Adventures tour though, so pros and cons for both - Rented a car online prior to arriving, to tour Downtown Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita. after all was said and done, it worked out to be $10 cheaper than booking right from the resort. However, unless you are planning to do extensive trips during the day, we felt the shuttle provided by the resort is the best option. Overall this is a very good resort if you can get it at a low price. It is definitely not a 5 start quality when it comes to physical aspects like food, drinks, rooms, pool, amenities etc. I would say it is 4 - 4.5 stars. But provides good value for your money, and flirts with becoming close to a 5 star resort.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Iberostar Bella Vista - It could be great - but its just good

Our first impression was that the hotel was modern, bright and clean. It is a very beautiful resort. Although the beach is very small, it is quite stunning. The only problem with the beach is that you need to save your spot by 6:00 a.m. or you won't get a spot with shade. Also, the lounging area around the pool is small. We felt that the common areas for guests is small to accommodate the amount of people at this resort. The rooms are bright and clean. Our maid was great. We  [... read more]were actually surprised most with the food. We thought the food was great. We didn't enjoy the buffet dinner, but the al a cartes were great! The only downside is the booking system for the al a carte restaurants. You can only book one day in advance for the next day and you need to line up at least 1 hour before booking starts if you want a reservation. They really need to improve this system! The problems we had with this resort is the way it is managed. We waited 2 days for a beach towel because our maid was off work for a day and NO ONE else would give us our missing beach towel. We also had 2 days with no clean beach towels to exchange! It is a ridiculous process. We also had a lot of problems with the door mechanism to our room and couldn't get in a few times. Very frustrating, especially when you are ready for bed. The accumulations of these little inconveniences is really what made us annoyed with the hotel. I don't think I would return there.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Is not as good as it used to be

The beach is amazing, nice sand and clean water, but they do not have enough palapas, so you have to come very early in the morning like 6 am to book them. The room is also very nice, clean and spacious. The food was okay, not much variety. This hotel is officially 4.5 stars, but I would give not more then 3.5.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Not a level 4.5

I understand Cuba food is not great but this resort so far was the worst I've had. Their snack bar was great and the Italian restaurant was amazing but that's it. Getting water was like pulling teeth they didn't offer it or have it readily available. We paid for upgrades but received not a king as requested and paid for but 2 doubles because they were out. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: How many stars?

I will start with the good... sun, beaches, friendly staff and great entertainment. The bad... 1. Our fridge died for 4 out of the 9 days. 2. The shower would build up about 3” of water while in there and took over an hour to drain. 3. We upgraded and paid extra for a superior room and the others in our party (over 17 altogether) did not, they had same or better rooms and location, what we received for our upgrade was an iron in the room and a bottle or rum. 4. The bars ran out of beer, v [... read more]odka and ice on a daily basis. We had a great time but we can make the best of anything and enjoy our time together. Will not return nor recommend this resort.

The resort and staff are wonderful. The people are very friendly and willing to help. The grounds are breath taking. Would highly recommend this resort for these reasons alone. The food was good not as good as previous years.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort

I’ve been going to the iberostar daiquiri for many yrs and just got back again, and they have yet again made my stay great ! Staff weather, resort all amazing ! I would recommend this resort to anyone ! I’ve made many friends there ! I’ll be going again next year!

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Beautiful resort! Amazing staff!

This resort is great! The food is amazing. Highly recommend the jerk chicken on the beach. The pool bartenders are awesome. The entertainment staff are the BEST! Princess, Cinderalla and String Bean were my fave! Thanks for a great vacay!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Okay resort

After staying in several resorts in Cuba- Holguin, Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria, this one was just okay. We have payed less and gotten more value at other resorts. No A/C in main buffet, ran out of several items in buffet and bar.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Resort

We just returned from two weeks at the Iberostar Daiquiri Resort. We had stayed for one week last year and the improvements from then to this year were very noticeable. The beds in the room were very comfortable, not hard and difficult to sleep on. The pool chairs were all replaced and were great to sit on and just relax and tan. There was never a meal that we found we didn’t find something we liked and the chef was more than willing to cook the food the way we wanted. Really try the chicken s [... read more]tir fry and the different varieties for fried fish. Oh and you have to try the pizza. Overall this is a great resort for families and couples with plenty of entertainment to keep you occupied during your stay. 1. Hotel rooms were good and kept clean 2. Beach was excellent with plenty of chairs and huts 3. Staff were very friendly and helpful 4. No problem to find a bar to get your rum fix 5. Food was good, not great but always something to find to eat On the negative side they ran out of hamburgers and hot dogs part way through the first week and never had any more while we were there. There was never any bacon. They ran out of mixes for drinks on several occasions and ran out of draught beer for two days.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Not Honest Staff!!!

I book a package via a travel agency. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told no reservation have been made!! After 3 hours arguing with the staff and calling to travel agency from Cancun to Canada, I told the hotel manager that I would like to get a room in my own cost. However, she told me that all the room were sold out. You can imagine how much stress i was suffering!!! After 3 hours, I got an answer from travel agency that the room was booked three days prior of checking and I mentioned  [... read more]to the hotel manager as well. Finally, I had no choice than to call the POLICE!!! As soon as they find out that I wanted to call to the police, the hotel manager offered me to hold the cost of the room on my credit card!!! I was so shocked because she told me that all the room were sold out, so how come she finds a room after I attempt to call the police!!! Moreover, in my reservation, I had an ocean (sea) view but she gave me a side view !!! The hotel and resort are nice and clean but the management is horrible!!! Moreover, the food in lunch every day the same and you have to select the same food every lunch at the buffet.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Love this place 🌴

Edith and Nancy at the kids club are amazing. My daughter loved going there every single day. The entertainment staff were wonderful the food was good and the grounds were of kept very clean. The only few downfalls where the ocean was very rough where we didn't even spend one day in the ocean and I don't like that anyone can smoke anywhere on the property. Very kid friendly. Would definitely go back
