Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

This resort was very beautiful many many many Pathways exceptional beaches and beautiful pool areas the main lobby was the main attraction of the resort with the lobby bar well-lit and comfortable rest areas coffee and liquor selection was phenomenal tea was limited as well as mix selection was very poor the room was large and comfortable I'm very nice well taken care of and very friendly cleaning staff rooms were maintained daily and most supplies replenished as needed I gave the overall Resort [... read more] of 4 out of 5 the only downfall was the food but again it is Cuba the resort map listed five restaurants although only one was open and one snack bar grill was open only through our part of the day Pathways were poorly lit but exterior Maiden supposed to ongoing throughout our trip and good progress was seen I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for good value overall we really enjoyed our trip and may consider returning

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Home away from home

Ocean casa del mar is an awesome resort to relax in paradise. The fresh fish, the omelet, and fried rice stations are worth the short wait. The staff are second to none especially my best friend Jorge the gardener. He is like my brother. Also my favourites are Valentin, Junier, Leo

Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Dunas

Large resort.....caters to a large crowds. Fairly clean resort. Majority of staff are helpful and friendly. Always plenty of evening entertainment. Food fair with limited choices (specialty restaurants only slightly better) Lobby bar and beer garden open all night for the late birds. Location a bit far from airport.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: A little tired.....

Unfortunately this resort fell a little short. Having travelled extensively to Cuba, we know what to expect and decided to venture here as we couldn’t pass up the price for a quick getaway. We keep returning to Cuba for the amazing beaches and this resort is situated on one of the best beaches in our opinion. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: good and bad

We both loved the beautiful beach /the great service/the staff. It was a wonderfu experience. We did not enjoy having to wait four hours to get our room after a very early start to the day.. It would be very helpful, if the rooms are not ready, to have a waiting space where we could have changed and made use of the hotel services. our first day never happened! Instead we sate in sweltering heat waiting. The food quality varied enormously but it was more than made up for by the wonderful servi [... read more]ce. Contrary to what was advertised tipping seemed to be a necessity.. We even had a driver demand a tip (which I refused to give on that occasion!) Love Cuba By the way HALIFAX is the ONLY SUNWING destination (apparently) where you can not confirm your bookings on the website.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: A great resort and staff

We had a great vacation. We both have a little mobility problems,we were a minute easy walk to the elevator which made it great to go to lobby,pools, restaurants and of course the bars. Always found something to eat. Not a big party place, had nice light entertainment at night which was great for us. I would highly recommend if you want to relax,read and have a few drinks and enjoy the sun. Small intimate calm resort, where Cubans staff and employees are working to make your vacation a success. From the moment of arrival to your departure, your are important to everyone. Beautiful people, resort, grounds, beach is spectacular and food prepare by chef exceptional. Gracias.

Melia Las Dunas: Not the Melia quality we expected

The resort is showing its age like most places in Cuba. It seems they build these nice resorts but dont have the means to maintain them because of the lack of money or manpower. It seemed to us there were too many guests for the number of staff. They were always running out of some kind of food, bread, french fries, hamburgers, ice cream cones etc. The buffet became uninteresting very fast. The staff in general were very pleasent and they tried to accommodate you as best they could.There was the usual difficulty in finding shade seating at the pool and beach, mainly because people would throw their stuff on the lounges and then take off somewhere else for a good portion of the day.

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Fair

The grounds were kept well. Most of the staff were friendly and courteous. Including grounds and cleaning staff. Most know that if you're visiting a resort in Cuba, "that you don't go to Cuba for the food". However, i did expect more. There was generally enough food, but not really any food that would bring me back to the table. Service in the buffet area was subpar at best. You need to staff TRAINED Life Guards. During my stay there was a near drowning of a 2yr old. Found face down in the  [... read more]pool with water wings on. Although I believe the onus is on the parents to pay attention to their children. When the boy was discovered and retrieved there was no one other than a Canadian man who knew what to do! He saved this unresponsive young toddler without the help of any life guard on staff. The "On staff Doctor, i never saw. Even once i assessed the child outside the front lobby. Perhaps they were at the beach patrolling? Regardless, there should be one at the pool. Bathroom at the main building were subpar as well. No tp or paper towels most of the time. I did enjoy my stay. However, food needs big improvements, latrines need a little more attention and most of all; Life Guard at the pool.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: A Terrific week at Angsana

Just returned from staying at Angsana Cayo Santa Marie. I can honestly say our stay was fantastic.Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nice ,comfortable rooms and the food was great. A special thanks to Yialet who met us on arrival and was very accommodating to looking after all our needs. A small all Adult resort That was quiet with well appointed accommodations. Entertainment every night and usually local Cuban musicians,professional and entertaining. No big typical resort shows here whic [... read more]h is great. Beach was terrific with lots of palapas with very accommodating beach staff to help you to get settled. You can change your currancy at the resort which is at a better rate but be prepared for them to run out periodically during the day as they run out of pesos fast: best to do at 8am or after 3pm. Not a complaint just be prepared.We we’re always able to get money. Overall a great week at Angsana all made possible by the awesome resort staff and accommodations. Thank you all at Angsana

Melia Las Dunas: Great cuban people

The only problem was they are always out of alot of food that is on the menu. I have been there twice now once in the fall and once in spring and it has been the same both times. They where out off pizza sauce. No pizza unless you have a reservation. They where out off almost everything at the snack bars all of them every day.

Melia Buenavista: Al that we had hoped for!

Our objective in spending 5 days in Cuba was finding a space warm and private enough to rest, read and feel the sun at the beach. Not only did Melia Buenavista provide us this, but great accommodation, good food and excellent service. The people who work at the resort are amazing. Would recommend the resort to anyone looking for a smaller, quieter resort with ample pool and beach options.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful Resort

Just spend another week at Melia Las Dunas in Cayo Santa Maria. This is a beautiful resort with a wonderful beach and gorgeous gardens. We stayed in the adult section with a view on the ocean and near a beautiful pool. The food was excellent and the room was perfect for us. The nightly entertainment was great every night. The resort was very clean and the personnel was very nice with us.. We had a wonderful time.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Still A Beautiful Resort

Awesome pools, lots of food choices, wonderful live entertainment and very clean. Our beds were comfortable and hotel staff very gracious. The beach is still super, however, water levels much higher since a couple years ago. Beach palapa got taken out after 2017 Hurricane Irma and many have not been replaced.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Loved the resort!!!

Our vacation started off a liftle rocky as the resort was at full capacity and the wait for everything was very long but after the second day the occupancy lowered and everything was great. We upgraded to a one bedroom suite which had an ocean view. The rooms and resort were kept very clean. The beach was raked daily and the ocean was great for swimming and snorkeling. There were some amazing ones that definitely took care of us and some others that didn’t seem to care as much about their jobs. Overall a good resort for the money it cost. Would return for the right price!

Paradisus Los Cayos: Relaxing stay

Rooms were clean and modern. The beach was amazing and the main reason we went. The food was fine, just wish the buffet had more variety. There was a nice smoothie bar and plenty of options. The staff were all very friendly and willing to assist with any issues or questions.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Terrible food, poor service overall

Not one to normally post a review and I sat on this for bit, but I feel that after my experience during the week of Feb 21st to Feb 28th at Ocean Casa Del Mar it would be irresponsible of me not to. First let me qualify that I have been to Cayo Santa Maria five times already having stayed at Melia Las Dunas 3x, Melia Cayo Santa Maria x1 and Memories x1, so I know what the baseline is for a resort on this coast in Cuba. Let me begin; The buffet was terrible. Same unappetizing food every da [... read more]y. Often would do a circle around the buffet and come back to the table with an empty plate and a sinking feeling. Staff at the sitting area outside the buffet were experts at avoiding eye contact and acting like it was someone else’s job to clear a table, provide cutlery, drinking water or wine. The Romantico and Seafood one (can't recall name right now) are adjoining restaurants. Did they build these over the septic system? The smell was so offensive that we turned around and left as the seafood restaurant is an open air venue and the smell was wafting into the dining area, I honestly don't know how other people were able to eat in there. Meals at the Italian and Asian venues were 'okay', but honestly all the meals were strongly salted but compared to the slop in the buffet was preferred, so I am being generous when I say okay. Running out of food, often. Bad enough but maybe you should tell people before you present them with choices that don’t exist. Drinks at the beach bar. Funny how they can seemingly pour so much alcohol in a drink yet I can taste and feel nothing. How can the same pool bathroom be out of toilet paper every single day? Two public washrooms in key areas (near lobby) and one at one of the restaurants by the pool were out of commission for a better part of our visit with sewage back up issues. Beach towels. Only able to change them once. The kiosk was never open? no explanation. Day one. No French fries. Day two. Out of chicken for the rest of the trip. Day three. No more beer for our mini bar for the rest of the trip. Beach BBQ. Fatty uneatable pork chops at one end, and the other served the same seafood paella every day! that was over the top salty. I talked with many people that week whose experience was the same (and some worse) than ours. The beautiful beach and weather saved our vacation. This resort is a no go for me in the future.

Memories Paraiso: Not really happy

My wife was at this resort 5 years ago and said it was her favourite. This is why I booked it. I’ve never been to a resort before. We had no idea that the resort had been divided into 3 separate resorts. Our air conditioner was flooding out our area for the bathroom. We reported it the first day we were there. Maintenance arrived 3 days later. The food was horrible. It was the same menu everyday. My wife and I are hoping to go on another trip in April and another in November. Unfortunately I w [... read more]on’t be returning to Cayo Santa Maria again. It was way below standards. I heard a lot of good things about this resort. I was told the food was great but unfortunately the was the furthest thing from the truth. The day we were leaving we checked out of our rooms at 12. Put our luggage in the front storage and waited in the lobby for the bus to pick us up at 3pm. At 3pm our bus wasn’t there. At this point a notice was posted that our flight was delayed for 3 hours. So we sat in the lobby until 6 pm. At this point a Sunwing rep arrived at 615pm and told us our flight was again delayed another hour and a half. When we asked why he said he had no idea all he said was “it’s a airline issue ask them” he is with Sunwing is he not part of our airline? The bus picked us up at 740 pm. We sat in the lobby for over 7 and a half hours. We finally got to the airport and when we got on the plane the pilot said “sorry for the delay but we had to go to Montreal and back as this flight was double booked. It was a really bad way to spend my last day of holidays sitting in the lobby. Not to mention I had a ride home booked. I changed that at 3 pm then again at 6. All in all I enjoyed the pool the entertainment and the ocean. I’m looking to book a trip in April but not sure if I will use Sunwing again. Paradisus Los Cayos: Beautiful new resort

The facility is gorgeous! The beach is gorgeous! No problem getting sun or shade at the beach or pool. Very attentive staff members everywhere we went. Big resort great for walking, always felt very safe. Great variety of restaurants, although visits are limited. Fruits and vegetables are at a premium. And we know Canadians love their toast, this was extremely lacking, most mornings only dinner rolls to toast. Beach, restaurant, bar and pool attendants superb, great service. Great coffee! Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort

This was our 7th stay at this resort the staff are very friendly and go out of there way to keep you satisfied the food is fairly good, beef terrible god beaches pools and bars short of lounges on the beach people go and save areas some at 5am
