VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Great resort!

Resort is a little outdated and need of minor repairs, granted a hurricane was just through in late fall, but still could use a face lift. Lobby chairs, plastic and some people did not feel safe sitting on them. Beach area was a disaster, but again hurricane damage. Pools, not bad but one was closed, not sure why but the one that was open was good. Great place if you are there to relax and not do much. The usual excursions but pricy. Food was excellent! Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great family resort.

Clean rooms and grounds. Friendly staff. Food is very good. Only 20 minutes or so from the airport. Great resort for families of all ages. We have previously stayed at this resort and definitely would go back again.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

The grounds, pools were extremely well kept. The rooms were spacious, made service was excellent. All the room supplies, stocking the refrigerator were looked after daily. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. The best a la cart was the Bluewater steakhouse. The buffet had a good variety of different foods, it was O.K. The beaches were great with lots of shore line for walking. A very good family resort with lots of activities for kids. Very nice water park and slides.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent Hotel

The Hotel was very specious with lots of well maintained gardens and landscaping. Our room had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. The swimming pool was very clean . The restaurants were amazing with great staff and excellent food. I can’t say enough about the beaches!! We wanted a late checkout and had no problem with the request.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Disappointing Smelly resort experience!

Disappointing Stay My Brother requested a crib for this 14 month old Before leaving for this resort. He did not get a crib for Two days after several attempts made to the front desk. Next the place smells bad the Buffet Restaurant has a smell kinda like sewage that makes you not want to eat there! Food and service is subpar on a good day! Our Room had mold in our bathroom! Public washrooms on most days had no soap and toilet paper the Hotel doesn't care about sanitation . If you have a toddler [... read more] goodluck finding a tray for your highchair! Two cofee machines in front lobby seemed to be always broken! Must always wakeup early to get pool or beach chairs the place seemed overcrowded and overbooked lineups everywhere! Not recommending this place to anyone never coming back this place is dirty staff always act pissed off when asking for something! We read the reviews somehow this is not the same place advertised!

Occidental Punta Cana: This was a great resort ? !

We do travel often , and would recommend to anyone . The staff keep it very clean , food was good , entertaining was good , staff was very polite and eager to help as best they can. Pool was very clean looking , and security was plentiful on the beach . Rooms were quite large and nice and bright . Will definitely return there .

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: our trip to Margaritaville Cap Cana

Positive: The people working at this hotel are wonderful, caring and most of all the one we interacted with enjoyed being here. The room was spacious and had a great view. The coffee shop was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was great. The pools and bars were fantastic Negative: There is NO beach at this site...you need to walk over about ten minutes to a public beach to see sand and cleaner ocean water...but still algae visible. Final thought...The entertainment was great during the day at the pools and the bands and shows were very good!

Occidental Caribe: Honest review family vacation

Two couples and one child aged 7 stayed at this resort on the last week of January in separate rooms side by side. The beach and hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our rooms were by the swim up bar ground floor. The real kicker for us was the rooms. We arrive and neither of our safes work, friend had no hot water for 3 days, both tvs broken and replaced, brown water leaking from my washroom ceiling, clog in both showers that turned your shower into a bath, toilet leaking mine, lamp [... read more] had hole in shade and cord had wire exposed held together by merets mine, someone's thongs were found on the floor at the side of the bed in friends room and blood on sheets? We saw maintenance every day and saw them more than the bartenders. Day 1 we waited 4hrs in room for someone to show. We asked for other rooms and was told there was nothing avail. After chatting with others, found that most people got moved to a different room? Maintenance throws towels in the ceiling to fix leaks, TV's are taken from other rooms. Everything had a bandaid. The room issues created unnecessary stress and put a damper on our vacation. Food: buffet was ok. Lots of options. Specialty restaurants: Japanese was excellent, Dominican was excellent, Mexican was good. Good chicken wings at the pool restaurant. Bar: ran out of beer on day 2? I was really shocked that there was no beer for 2 days. We had to purchase Corona at the store. Entertainment was good. Kids- waterpark was good. Kids club- had lots for the toddler age and not much for older kids. Upon leaving the resort we get to the airport and the bus back door is jammed and driver couldn't open it. The bus driver had to get a broom handle from the airport to open latch from the inside. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. We were severely disappointed and felt ripped off.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great Resort

Great food. Great location. Amazing service and very friendly, accommodating staff. Staff went out of their way to address my wife's allergies. (especially Apostol) Jacob was excellent. We would definitely go back.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Good for families

Dreams Onyx was a great place to go with the family. Brought my two little ones (10m and 2.5 yrs). Pros: -Cribs are availablec*see cons -Rooms were clean -Beach was nice -Not overcrowded, rarely couldn't get seating where we wanted -Food was good overall -Staff were awesome overall, very friendly and professional/helpful -High chairs were generally available, only once did we have an issue getting two at a specialty restaurant -Most events end fairly early, great for families -Adults [... read more] have access to Breathless next door, we did not go but for those with older children it may be nice to get away. Very short walk away, almost wandered into it by accident. -The resort overall was very clean Cons: -The crib mattresses need to be replaced. They are flat/breaking. Instead they pad it up with a blanket and a top sheet. We ended up taking them out and wrapping the sheet better so that it didn't tangle up with the kids. -The rooms, while clean, could use some updating. Sliding doors that didn't work, caulking that needs to be redone (leaking shower into the room, fixed with a towel for example), hinges need to be removed and cleaned etc. -While room service was available, it was very hard to get a hold of them and then you have a fairly long wait (45-60 min is what it says). The wait wouldn't be much of an issue if it didn't take a long time to even get in contact with room service. We gave up trying. -Our first floor sliding door lock was barely attached. -Swim ups aren't really swim up. They are swim close? Check the pic to see what I mean. Other: -Currently constructions going on the lot next door, opposite side of breathless. Sliding doors kept the noise out, but wasn't the nicest for sitting outside while the kids napped. Might be best to get a room not on that side for the time being. Final thoughts: I think the cons overall are pretty minor things that don't detract from the place as a whole too much. I would recommend it to families without hesitation.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great stay - just a few minor issues

My wife and I just got back from Bavaro Beach. A very enjoyable stay, great restaurants, great beach and an excellent golf course. What we liked the most was the breeze off the ocean which made it feel cooler! Helped on the golf course too. Try the French, Japanese and Seafood restaurants…La Comedie, Kyoto and Coral. Plus several others like Santa Fe, Dolce Vita Chez Gourmet. Service was basically good although it took over a week for the drain in our tub to be fixed. And communica [... read more]tion was an issue at the Pro Shop as was their clothing inventory. Not much of a selection in terms of sizes. I would have bought stuff but they did not have any XL sizes. We would love to go back.

Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana: Great food

Food was great which is the main thing. For the price we paid, it isn’t a five star resort. Lots of little things missing. For example, no welcome drink, hydrotherapy very small, drinks watered down, strawberry drinks gross, no Coors Light at bars, no theatre shows except for fire show outside, only one bag of chips in room, service at pools slow, service at main lobby bar very slow, had to pay for Bali beds at pool, etc.

If you see good reviews it’s either they were payed or it was there first one The Bahia chain is amazing. I loved all the Bahia resorts in other parts of the Dominican as well as in Mexico. My all time favourite resort ever is the Bahia Pincipe luxury runaway bay Jamaica that we went to 2 months prior to the Bahia compound in Punta Cana. We have been to 9 Bahia resorts. This resort compound was severely disappointing. It had the potential to be so much better. Hot food and the property sprayed for insects would have made a world of difference.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: A solid good

Had a great vacation, definitely upgrade to club. Rooms were clean, amazing bed, could use updating. The food and service were amazing. The major complaint was the running of the bulls first thing in the morning to get loungers, I mean before 7am . Our agent Nicolle Kirk from tripcentral was amazing to book with

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: First Class

Everything about this resort was awesome. The atmosphere with oool staff, bartenders and security is friendly and relaxed. The little hand gesture covering their hearts that says ‘thank you for coming here’ was a nice touch. They are schooling their cooks and some restaurant staff so minor hiccups occurred but were corrected once discussed. Awesome!

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Amazing get away in the sun

Hi Beth As you are aware this was our 4th time same resort. So once again it was amazing as always. Great people great food and fantastic weather. 2 weeks was the perfect amount of time! Having you as our travel agent was also the best. You were always available to help plan and support when needed. Things ran very smoothly under your direction. Thank you! Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Large resort

The grounds were well kept and rooms were clean and spacious. Disappointed we didn't get king bed just two doubles which were comfortable. Food and drinks plentiful and lots of variety available. The staff was courteous. We were locked out of our room due to low battery and it looks three times returning to lobby for staff to fix it. I insisted on someone coming back to room..other than that it was a good holiday.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great family resort

This hotel is a great resort for families. There are lots of activities for the kids. The entertainment music was too loud though. The rooms if not staying at the level are nice but dated. The grounds were well maintained. The pool was cleaned daily. They do mention they have 6 pools, however if you are not staying at the level there is only the main pool and the kids splash pool you can swim in. The spa was very nice and staff are certified massage therapist. Hotel staff were all very nice and  [... read more]tried their best speaking English. The beaches were beautiful with little to no seaweed. The food at the Al a carte restaurants were excellent. The food at the two buffets were very good however the food that is kept under the heat lamps were always cold. Location is excellent , 20 min from airport.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great resort

This resort was awesome. Grounds food and staff were all 5 star. A few minor issues in room made them maybe a 4 star. Pretty hard to beat Punta Cana beach. Transat experience could definitely be better but at least if didn’t affect us once on resort. Entertainment was fun and diverse. Use palladium hotel group app to its potential. Let us know where and when to be.
