Friendly Fun Vallarta: The Friendly Vallarta

The name of the resort says it all...Friendly! Every where you turn people were smiling , joking with the vacationers, giving hugs on hellos and goodbyes. They like to talk to you, to find out about where you are from, about your family. They will also tell you about their lives too. They workers at the Friendly are what makes that hotel nice to stay at. The building itself is older but is always clean. As the day goes on you are always seeing someone cleaning. There is no litter anywher [... read more]e. They wash the pool deck late at night and again early in the morning. The food was limited in variety but what was supplied it was very good. Food service was offered on the beach same as drinks and once again the empty plates and drinking glasses were removed immediately. The water pressure in shower was very limited and sometimes would be either very hot or very cold. There was only one chair in the room, we did ask for another but unfortunately never got one which meant one of us was always lying on the bed to watch TV or read.

Riu Vallarta: Good bang for the buck!

The hotel staff were friendly and organized upon arrival Our rooms were ready before 3pm check in. The hotel is on the larger size from what I am use to. The rooms are well kept and clean. I found the bed comfortable for Mexico. The grounds are well kept. The food is great however the buffet becomes a bit much after the 3rd day because there is such a variety of choices it's almost overwhelming We went to two of the ala cart restaurants. Furniture in the lobby area is very worn and needs to be replaced. The beach is beautiful. No palapas but you can rent an umbrella from the hut guys on the beach for $150 pesos per day. Overall a great resort for the price

Samba Vallarta: Did not disappoint!

We chose this resort for a girl's getaway to celebrate a 50th birthday. It was so perfect for us. Very clean, excellent service, smiling faces all around! We loved that we could sit right by the beach but not on the beach where there are interruptions and distractions from the special time that the five of us had together. This is a very relaxed place, not uptight and snobbish like some of the other resorts I've been at. It is very family oriented and the beach party night was so much fun! [... read more] The food selection was excellent and as were the margaritas! I would definitely return to the resort. Tripcentral has been my travel site of choice for over 18 years. Nicole was fantastic and co-ordinated the five of us leaving from 3 different cities with ease. Riu Vallarta: Fun trip

Hotel room was dated, bed was very old and couch was very old, though clean. Food was what I expected. Good pools great ocean swimming. Staff were great overall. Bars seemed understaffed with long lines.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Clean, Fun Resort

I can't say enough good things about the Grand Fiesta Americana. The rooms are lovely and so clean. Great view from any room! The resort does slightly cater to the conventions and the usual towel game like at most resorts. But this did not detract from having a great vacation!!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Horrible

My husband and I booked this resort for our honeymoon, we were told that this resort was fun and the food great. This was highly recommended by travel agents as well as people we mentioned it too. well the food was horrible spent so much money to go out of the resort to eat we could have booked a 5 star. the al la cartes were no better than the buffets. yet we had to wake up for 7 am to book, and can only book 2 at a time. we requested a king size bed and got 2 double beds. went to move the next [... read more] day cause they say we could then were told tomorrow. The drinks were horrible, and only had draft beer. we didn't have a fridge in our room and would only get 1 warm bottle of water a day. people that have been there before many times said the food has gone down hill big time and that they wouldn't go back. I rate this maybe a 3 star. very unsatisfied

Crown Paradise Golden: Crown palace golden

The hotel is an excellent value for your dollar. The food was excellent and there was a good variety for everyone. The room was a deluxe ocean front,very clean and polite staff. The week we selected was just after spring break and before the Easter week celebration so it wasn't crowded. We also had access to the sister hotel next door,which for family with children. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for a 1 week stay,very relaxing and lots of fun.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Nice resort

No complaints except for the food and the restaurant access. Food in the buffet was the same almost daily.Breakfast, lunch good . Beef tough, to much stuff with sauce on top. Lots of salads, cheese which were very good. The food burgers great, snack food great, just the main meal in buffet poor./ Restaurants Asians, and Mexican continually being used for special events. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Iberostar Playa Mita is the best!

Iberostar Playa Mita is a magnificent resort. While one reaches the resort by landing at the Puerto Vallarta airport, the resort itself is 50 land kilometres, but yet ta world away, from Puerto Vallarta and its hustle-bustle and cheek-by-jowl accommodation. It is not even on the protected waters of Banderas Bay, but faces the full fury of the Pacific Ocean head on, defiantly, on its own westward facing beach, where the breakers, even on a calm day,can reach heights of 1-3 metres. The fury of t [... read more]he ocean belies the calm within. The staff, perhaps as numerous as the clientele, seem devoted to maintaining the entire resort as an objet d'art, which it is. I am an avid scuba diver. One of the best kept secrets of the Iberostar Playa Mita is the fantastic diving offered by the waterside operation of Dressel Divers. Access to some of the best dive sites I have ever seen does not come easy, however. The dive boat can only be reached by a ride with a skilled operator on a jet ski in the seven-second interval between one big breaker and the next. The ride is worth it, You will visit dive sites with millions of fish and other sea creatures that few people know about and that cannot be reached by any other means. If scuba diving is not your thing, Dressel Divers offers whale watching (in season - late November to early March), snorkelling and bird watching excursions too. If the breakers are too big to gain access to the tour boat from the beach, Dressel staff will take you to a protected launch site at Punta da Mita, a short ride away. The bird watching excursions will take you to the Marieta Islands where you will see blue-footed boobies, curious shore birds, with, yes, blue feet. You are not likely to see them elsewhere, except, perhaps on the Galapagos Islands. I should not have written this review. Now you will all go there and it will not be my secret any more.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Great potential!

Food drinks and service were amazing. It was very busy so the only compliant would be about the a la carte restaurants. You had to line up at 10am to get a reservation that day. The restaurants were under maintainance when we were there so they accomandate the guests in a cornered off part of the buffet restaurants. Which was fine but the menu was extremely limited as they could not complete all the dishes in the different kitchen. Otherwise, the resort was great and I would highly recommend as I am sure the restaurant issues have been fixed!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Decameron Resort Bucerias

We booked our trip to Bucerias through an agent with Trip Central - the agent was courteous and efficient. We flew AirTransat to Puerto Vallarta on March 30th. We were to leave at 8 a.m. After boarding the plane, we sat on the runway for one hour and were then told that there was a mechanical problem and we would have to deplane until the problem was fixed. We then sat waiting in the Calgary air terminal until 3:30 p.m. when our plane departed. We were compensated by AirTransat with a $20/ [... read more]each food voucher during the wait and a $100/each coupon on future travel with AirTransat. It was unfortunate that we spent the first day of our vacation in an airport but we were thankful to be safe. I had read numerous reviews of the Decameron Resort prior to booking and based on noise concerns from previous customers, I requested at time of booking with the Trip Central agent, not to be housed in complex 3 or 5 during our stay. On arrival to the Decameron Resort, we were told our room was in complex 5. At this time, we verbalized our previous request of not being in complex 5 and were told there was no choice. We went to our room in complex 5 (it was now 9:30 p.m.) and found our entry door directly facing the disco and live entertainment show which was currently in progress. The volume of noise was unbelievable - it was loud in the room with the door closed, TV and noisy AC unit going. As we had been up since 5 a.m. and were now looking for rest, we returned to the hotel desk and requested (very politely, I might add) to change rooms. We were then moved to complex 3. If we thought in complex 5 that we couldn't be closer to the disco and noise, we were wrong as our new room was worse. We were keep awake until 1 a.m. by the noise from the show and disco and were less than impressed with our first day of our trip and with the staff at the hotel desk who clearly placed us in a room worse that before. I might add that a key reason we did not want a noisy room is that we have a child. We ended up moving rooms again 2 days later, which wasted more of our vacation time with having to pack up our room and have luggage at the front desk at 11 a.m. and then return at 3 p.m. to be given keys to new room. One female desk clerk who seemed to be in charge, was less than accommodating, never cracked a smile and appeared burnt out. She's clearly working in the wrong profession. Apart from our noisy room, the Decameron served our basic needs. It is a clean, no frills hotel. The food is adequate. The drinks are served in very small, probably four oz, plastic cups and also very basic (no fresh fruit). The majority of the staff are friendly and accommodating. Our favorite part of the resort is the fantastic beach front. We will not be going back to the Decameron because they did not honor our one and only request and did nothing to try and rectify our problem and offered no apologies in the end. Our advise to anyone going to the hotel - flash dollars with any requests.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: A great experience

My sister in law recommended this hotel and it was very nice. Even it was close to the main road, inside the compound, you would not recognize. Overall a great stay. Great food, great people and a great beach area. Would go back any time.

Samba Vallarta: Beautiful resort with friendly staff

The grounds foliage are so beautiful at this resort. The staff were friendly, funny and helpful. The variety of fresh fruit and vegetables was so wonderful! As well the meals had something for everyone. I would recommend this resort.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Excellent Family Resort

Smaller Resort that included friendly staff and great food. Wouldn't recommend the spa but otherwise it was an overall great stay. We'd hoped for a slightly more progressive entry beach but it was still very clean and well kept. Very family friendly with lots of things to do.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Great place to be!

The smaller hotel is very authentically Mexican. Lobby area is lovely, grounds are beautifully kept and everything is very clean. The clientele is a nice mixture of families and individuals from all over as well as local people. The food was amazing. The kids club has great staff. The pool area was really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is within walking distance to Puerta Vallarta stores and sights. The rooms are nice and the beach is great. Samba Vallarta: comfortable.... again

I have been here before and they have updated the hotel but kept the friendly family feeling. Rooms large and clean with great water pressure. Food better (though was good before and the egg/omelet area lady is amazing). Alcohol plentiful and the bartenders fast and friendly-Bruno at the lobby bar knew your drink, would make more and was so fast!! The bats at 730p.m.-amazing!! Crown Paradise Club: Excellent resort for families!

I recommend this resort 100% everything was great! They are constantly cleaning the grounds, rooms are very clean with a big balcony. Restaurants are all very classy and the buffet had a very good variety with a children's buffet. Always food and drinks available every hour of the day. Children's pool with zip lines and waterslides and the kids club is awesome! Lots of activities for the kids all day! The shows are a must see! Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Might be our last trip

This was our 16th trip to the Royal Decameron Complex in Bucerias. In the past, we have always rated the place quite high. However, there have been a few subtle changes. One of the buffets is closed approximately every second night, leaving less choice. The selection in the buffets is becoming smaller, and is noticeably slanted to Mexican clientele. English is being used less frequently by animation staff and at the night show. Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great

Everything was great, great people, great tourists, just the DJ at the pool needs to play better music, not a deal breaker at all 10/10.................................................................
