This is the 7th time booking at this memories resort. There was 10 of us and a 2 year old. I have read a lot of reviews and I feel like some people shouldn't be travelling. We got great service when we arrived. Amauri got us organized and helped us to our rooms. He is very amazing and nice. The resort was very clean and the staff all very friendly.. we got our a la cartes booked right away. The buffet had a themed night every day and had plenty of items available. Even for the picky peop[... read more]le there was lots if stuff. The a la cartes food was very good with a good variety of foods. The entertainment at the beach and activity pool was awesome. Interacting with the guests. The foam party at the beach was amazing. Lots of fun. The shows were good and the band's at night at the square played great music. At the check out desk you can actually change your money no credit cards anf you dont need to bring your passport like the bank on site needs it. If you like strong drinks your good to go. If not .makensure you let them know to addi light alcohol. The beach was clean and some are our rooms. There were mosquitos at night but what place at night doesn't get them? The only thing I feel that needs to be worked on is the wifi. You can only get it in the theatre or the lobby. Not very strong though. You can purchase a wifi card for 1 peso and it's good for 1 hour of wifi. It doesn't have to be used all at the same time. You can use it here and there. Or you can also get a plan from home. If you go diamond club you have special section beside the buffet with air conditioning. You still share the buffet area. I hope if you book This resort you have the same experience we did. I am planning on returning next April again. The one thing I saw was people getting mad at the Cuban people cause they didn't have something or ordered 6 inlets at one time. Remember they are there working and doing their best to serve you. Think first how you want to be treated, so why test them any differently.??? 😊

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice Resort on an Amazing Beach
Loved the beautiful white sand beach at this resort. Many kind staff who work very hard. We did not have a good check in experience, but have read other reviews who had the opposite experience. Many days it was hard to get change at our resort, so we would have to go to the bigger resort beside us. We could always find something good to eat. Very hard to find shade on the beach at our resort, but we could walk farther down the beach and sometimes find shade at the other Memories resort.

Grand Memories Varadero: Travelled alone and sexually harassed by bellboy
Travelled to resort and stayed in room by myself. My friends were in building next to mine. My door on room 20226 wasn’t working (the battery wasn’t connecting when it jarred from door closing, recoding card did not help). After A LOT of back and forth with the very mean ladies (especially Lisa) at the front desk bellboy JORGE attempted to help me get in my room. Once in, he walked right in, helped himself to a beer in my fridge, tried to pressure me several times to meet him at 2am for drin[... read more]ks after his shift and told me I had a beautiful a$$! He knew I was married, but that didn’t stop him. Thankfully I was able to get him out by declining his offer repeatedly. Oh, the beach was beautiful but it is at ALL the resorts in Varadero! WOMEN TRAVELING ALONE BEWARE! Ps: A lot more to this story but those are the coles notes.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful resort
Love this resort, beautiful grounds, all the food was delicious and a lot of options! Bed was super comfy!Staff are amazing and the entertainment is excellent ! The beach is best in all of Cuba! I was here once before with a lg group this time just my hubby and myself ,I thought I would get a return guest dinner or something special in room but unfortunately I didn’t.. no big deal that was the only disappointment I have and that I couldn’t stay longer!!
The resort was beautiful - what's not to love with palm trees & sun!. The staff was courteous & friendly.
Keep in mind, it is Cuba so there are shortages of toilet paper in some of the washrooms & the food needs some additional flavouring.
Even though I did enjoy my stay at Memories Flamenco, if I were to return to Cayo Coco, I would refer another resort that my husband & I stayed at previously.
With that being said, if there was an incredible last minute deal to get away, I would not be opp[... read more]osed to returning to Memories Flamenco.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Another Fantastic Trip to Cuba
This is our 3rd time visiting this resort and we love it a little more every time. Although the rooms are little dated and the resort does look a tad tired, the people working at the resort brighten it up! Beach is awesome, lots of pools to choose from. Definitely will return to Memories Holguin again!

Grand Memories Varadero: A Gem of a Resort
I have to say for my first trip to Cuba this was a great experience. The beach and pools were Amazing and the grounds of the Resort were so lovely I enjoyed walking around looking at the various plants and flowers. The staff for me was the icing on the top they were kind, helpful and always greeted you with a smile. The food was also a huge plus so much variety and taste I have always heard food is bland in Cuba well not at this resort Well done to all the cooks and servers. This resort does[... read more] need to work on more entertainment as I found it lacking on music I expected more Cuban flair and music often throughout the resort this was not the case it was scheduled late or there was just back ground music. Overall I would go back again in a minute it was an Amazing Experience.

Sol Turquesa Beach: DEFINATELY WILL GO BACK!
We have been to this same resort I believe 10 times. Will definitely go back. In comparison to the other resorts in the area I don't think any of them would be a greater deal. The meals are very good in the buffet, not a huge huge variety but still lots to choose from. The cheese and cold meat selection is amazing. The only complaint and being a minor one, that I would have in the buffet area is that since it has been a Memories resort we can see the decline in service, re: not getting ask[... read more]ed for drinks, waiting for utensils, and sometimes dishes. waiting for dirty dishes to be picked up from the table once you went for seconds. You will always have a lounge wether it be at one of the five pools or at the beach. But, of course you will still get the early birds putting their towels on the chairs and not being used for hours, but that is consistent with any place. The lobbiy is big and comfortable and has the best capacinno. The resort is very well kept and is a nice stroll around the entire place. we do not choose the Diamond club, we personally don't think its worth the extra $25.00 per day, however some people thinks its great. we have been going every six months and will continue to do so. Definitely recommend you try this place.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Good resort
Stayed at this resort when it was Playa Turquesa. The atmosphere has changed, staff is not as engaging as before. We requested a room "not" on the ground floor and we got one that was in a one level building. It was a nice room but I just couldn't be that close to the ground. ( phobia ). The view from the patio was just bushes and trees. We changed rooms the next day and got a basic room but at least it was on the second floor. Apparently there was a returning guest supper but we were not inform[... read more]ed and when we asked about the free bottle of rum we actually had to ask again as we were leaving for home and someone handed it over and walked away without a word. The resort is pretty well kept and they do work hard. The animation team was at the beach everyday getting people involved including children. They were awesome. Food was as we expected, we always find something. We did the romantic and Cuban alacarts and they were both good. The beach is small but nice. Overall the resort is very nice just not the same feel as when we were there before.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very Disappointing
This was our first trip to Cuba and we were very excited to see something new. We were aware that there would be some things to watch for. We were told by almost every one who ever travelled there that if you did not go 5 Star then you would be disappointed. They were right. This resort was promoted as a 4.5 star. Not true. While the beach was beautiful, and the food was actually good, the resort itself was in disrepair. I understand that they were recovering from a very severe hurricane, howeve[... read more]r, some things should be up to standard before you open your doors to paying customers. The rooms were atrocious. Rails hanging loose from walls. Nails holding other things up, nails that are sticking out of the wall an inch or more. Dents in walls, heating controls hanging out, lights that won't shut off, and mosquitos by the dozens in our room. Dead bugs squished on the wall and ceilings.
Also, it was promoted as all inclusive, with a daily stocked fridge. Again, not true. One bottle of water for two people, in 30 degree heat is not sufficient. Mind you, this water was also for brushing you teeth. If you wanted more you had to bring your bottle to the bar or restaurant to refill. No new fresh bottle. Also, if there was one can of beer in the fridge you were lucky.
The staff were friendly, but the service was very inconsistent. We sat in the main bar one evening, and waited almost an hour for service, as staff walked by. On our last day there, while eating lunch, I found a dead fly in my food. That was the final straw.
I would not recommend this resort. In fact, it has totally soured me on travelling to Cuba ever again.
Loved our time at this resort. Check in was smooth - only hiccup was that they put 2 out of our group of 7 in a section10 that was run down and far away from others. Rectified the next day, but not without a little argument from Karen at the front desk. A/C did not work in one of our groups rooms but they survived ;) Section 6 was perfect otherwise.
Food was great, did 3 a la carte - Mediterranean was the best of all of them. The buffet was far superior to any Cuban resort I have been to. Snack[... read more] bar was a great place to spend lunch.
Cannot express how beautiful the beach is - large, not crowded and absolutely stunning. Would go back to this resort for this reason alone. We were early risers, so we had no problem getting a palapa, but those who get up past 7am were forced to pay the workers to "reserve" spots. Wasn't a fan of this practice.
Staff were lovely
All in all we would love to go back in 2019!!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Fantastic Adults only resort
Our room was very nice and clean. Our butler, Gretchen, was available for any issues we had or to book restaurants. Very close to the beach, which was beautiful. The only draw back, not enough shade at the beach and the pool. The food was the best I've had in Cuba. All our meals were a la carte, which was a nice change from buffet style restaurants. We had the use of the big resort too, and the entertainment at the theatre was very good.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Not bad
There was amazing weather last week. Although the rooms were terrible and there was so much walking. I had to walk my suitcae all the way to the front which was over a mile from the lobby. Also the pool was completely green the first two days. Also the food is terrible, ants in the food as well. The Japanese a la carte was the best for food. My wallet got stolen at the resort. The staff were usually not very happy except a few were amazing. Also the beach doesn’t get raked there and they have [... read more]sand fleas. Good time with good friends, nice water slide.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Was ok...
We recently visited the Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero. We were booked with Diamond Club privileges that was included in the package we booked. In my opinion, it's not worth paying the extra money on the Diamond Club upgrade. And here's why:
Butler service just means that when you arrive at the hotel the butler greats you and takes your luggage to your room. Although the butter is very nice, accommodating and welcomes you to the hotel, they tell you that anything you need to let them [... read more]know. We asked everyday for extra "in-room" towels and they never came. If you use your "in-room" towels, the maids will only change them if you put them on the floor. It's advertised that "Diamond Club guests receive exclusive beach area with dedicated bar and waiter service. That's somewhat truthful. There is a designated area for all guests of Sanctuary. There was a bar, however there was one bar on the beach for all guests of Sanctuary and Grand Memories resort to share. They never looked at your bracelet to see if you were a sanctuary diamond club member. You had to ask for the premium liquors or else they would give you the lower end liquors. The Beach bar was never stocked with ice. All mixed drinks were always warm. There was definitely NO waiters on the beach taking any drink orders. No, nightly Turndown Service and they indicate that you have premium amenities in room, every room was the same in the Sanctuary section. What I will tell you is that the guest rooms and the resort is not fumigated often enough for cockroaches. We seen many cockroaches around the property (in the Gourmet restaurant, in the theater and in the Cubana Bar). We also found a cockroach at the start of our trip in our room and we kept our luggage closed at all times. In chatting with various guests, this is very common to see because of the tropical climate Cuba has, but we felt that that the resort could be doing a better job fumigating these bugs. Our room, was an average room nothing to rave about.
The workers (butlers, waiters, chefs, and grounds men) at the resort were super nice, with the exception of the lobby desk staff. They were very rude and not very accommodating. The resort itself needs a lot of cosmetic work and a lot more upkeep, but from what I understand this is very normal for resorts in Cuba. The grounds of the resort were maintained and clean.
As for the food, it was decent and tasty when it was served to you hot. The comment I would say is the food is hit or miss in being served hot. At the large buffet there is a microwave located at the end of the line to heat up your food. There are no heat lamps keeping the food hot at any of the restaurants on the property. Knowing and seeing the cockroaches around the property always stuck with us when eating anywhere on the property.
At the end of our vacation we asked if we could extend our room past the check-out time and we were told no. We were very much willing and offered to pay extra money to keep our room they still said no. We were offered a courtesy room, and we decided to take it as it was our only option - well my advise to everyone is to NEVER take this option. The courtesy room was absolutely disgustingly filthy. The courtesy room had not been cleaned from the previous guests that used it before us. No shower towels available - I had to hunt down a maid for towels and she gave me 2 face cloths. When I called the Sanctuary service desk they said they would send some - no one showed up with towels. We were only able to use the room for 30 minutes or else we would have been charged for the extra time. The room was so filthy that I was shocked that they would offer such room to Sanctuary guests. The only reason we took this option was because our check-out was at 2:00 pm and our departure from the resort was at 6:15 pm. We wanted to enjoy the last few hours at the beach and just wanted to take a shower after having been at the beach. When I called the for a trolley to take us to the main hotel lobby with our luggage to catch our bus to the airport, the sanctuary service desk said yes no problem. We waited a full 10 minutes, no trolley showed up and we had to walk with all our luggage across half of the resort in the heat. I was very surprised by all the trip advisor reviews on the resort and questioned why this resort was rated # 1. We booked this resort based on the wonderful reviews we had seen prior to booking. However, based on having stayed at this resort I would not give this resort more then a 3 star rating. For the lack of bug fumigation and the way we were treated on our last day, we unfortunately will not be returning to this hotel again!!!
I will say that for our first time traveling to Cuba we can say we loved the town of Varadero (Especially 62nd street - very fun to visit at night!) and the gorgeous beach, City of Maltanza and the City of Havana are all beautiful places and a MUST see when your in this part of Cuba. We booked the Jeep Safari with the Sunwing Rep on the resort and it truly was an awesome experience, so much fun and it was an amazing excursion! We booked a taxi with Manuel (Cell #:01052814540) to Havana and he was extremely knowledgeable and gave us all the history about Havana, Cuba. He took us to the very best lookout points and hot spots around (amazing photo's taken), as well as answered any questions we had. He is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish. I strongly recommend him for a great tour of Havana.
As for this hotel, we would not recommend it and if and when we visit Cuba again we will be trying another resort property and will book an extended Havana tour, as 1 day visiting this city wasn't enough time to see all of it's beauty and history.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Greatest Family Vacation
Everything in this resort was awesome. The hotel was very clean, the people are so friendly, and the food was great.
It was our first all inclusive family vacation in 12 years and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
We booked with tripcentral online and called them with questions and concerns. They were able to answer all of my questions
and made changes that were needed.
