Very clean. Good food. Lots to do around the pool, beach and at night. Room was very nice and always clean. Could use more than one bathroom stall around each pool. Staff was amazing. There is a lot of walking but they provide trolly's back and forth the resort all day.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort - Disappointing A la Carte Restaurants
Ocean Casa del Mar was a beatiful resort, in every way. The only thing we didn't like was the a la carte restaurants. We've always had good experiences at other resorts in Cuba and have always defended Cuba when people say the food is not good which is why we were so disappointed. We tried the Italian, Asian and Seafood restaurants. We gave up after the 3rd and started going to the buffet, which we really don't like doing.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful Resort
We stayed at this resort from March 2 - 9th. Will keep this review short as you have seen many before this. We had two rooms and no problems with either; great maid and bar service; plenty of hot water and towels, etc. Restaurants all good with the Steakhouse being the best for us. Buffet has great selection and the food was delicious -- no complaints. Bar service at the El Beso pool was quick with no line-ups. We didn't spend much time at the beach however it is very nice with a pool , ba[... read more]r and restaurant...No problems with getting chairs at either the El Beso pool or beach. Staff are super friendly and we had no problems with conversing with them in English. Disregard ALL of the negative reviews; some people may have had minor problems and like to complain but we did not. Check in / out was fast and efficient.... email me with any questions... Have a good vacation!

Playa Vista Azul: Great Resort
Kim Hartlen at tripcentral was fantastic! Our hotel room was clean and spacious, the grounds were well kept and the beaches very nice. The pool was very nice as well.
The food was not as good as we expected but we were prepared for that. The servers at the main dining hall were friendly and nice especially Yamilet Batista and the bar servers especially Jimmy were excellent. The servers at Mike's made excellent expresso's. The attractions at the theatre were quite good as were the evening [... read more]musicians in the hotel lobby. All in all Cuba and this resort was a good experience.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Something For Everyone!
Just came back from a great week at Ocean Coral and Turquesa. The room was large and clean. The grounds were so beautiful and very well maintained. A nice variety of food choices - our favorites were the Japanese and the Italian, but the breakfast and lunch buffets were also very good. The service was consistently excellent - we always felt well looked after. If you have children, there's a kids' pool and a special club where you can leave them in capable hands for a day of fun activities. [... read more]The only down side was the beach. Because it was quite windy, there was a lot of seaweed on the shore and the water was quite rough. Thanks for a great week.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort
I really enjoyed the way this resort is layed out.... stretched lengthwise with the beach, two covered thatched walkways on each side of the main areas of the hotel (lobby etc), no one bothered us about time shares. I went with my mom age 70, we enjoyed the buffet and thought the Japanese restaurant was the best. We loved the beds by the pool and got one each day. The towel game is alive at this hotel but we got up early so no problem. The room was nice with a balcony and a partial ocean vie[... read more]w. The only disappointing factor was the beach, lots of seaweed which they leave for ecological reasons but I missed my nice clean beach and clean water to swim! However that did not wreck our time.... we had stormy weather so didn't stay at the beach anyway. We enjoyed dancing by the pool bar in the evenings to live music. Loved Mikes coffee shop/ good expressos! Opens at 8 am, I would've liked 6 or 7, we loved the ease of getting around the resort .... it is beautiful... beautiful old Mexico architecture.... we will be back! I also wished for daily yoga....

Ocean Riviera Paradise: What a great experience!
We stayed at the resort in early March with another couple (4 in total). Both of us stayed in the Eden Rooms, closer to the beach, but farther from most of the complex. This was no problem at all! The walk was as short or as a blissfully long as you wanted it to be. Take a trolly if you need to get somewhere fast, or wander and check out iguanas, talk to friendly folks or peak around at the gorgeous design of this hotel. At the beach there is a restaurant/bar so if you are really getting hungry [... read more]you can just head there.
The rooms themselves are beautiful, clean and modern with great views on any side. Great staff keep things clean daily and are constantly around if you need anything at all. The walk in showers are amazing.
The food is what really shines here for us. Seriously, the Blue Moon Restaurant was better than most places up here in Winnipeg, with classic French service preformed by gracious waiters, it was fantastic. The buffet rocked for every meal and the 'cafeteria' is on the the most pretty rooms I've ever sat in. There are more a la cartes here than you can eat at in one week, crazy!
There are lots of choices for things to do during the day: pool, beach, tennis, basketball, kayaks, volleyball, pingpong, bowling, pool games...so much! The sports and entertainment staff does a great job keeping you moving.
The check in was easy, and yes there are some folks trying to get you into a timeshare but if its not your deal, just say no gracias and they won't bug ya.
All in all, a great experience. We would totally recommend this well run, beautifully designed resort to anyone. Young, old, single, couple or family, there is simply something for everyone.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Horrible Experiance
• Arrived after a very long ride from the Airport
• Went to the front desk to check in and after waiting was then directed to the “Privilege†Customer service office ( they really should mention this on the trip on the bus and have the door marked)
• Waited in line again to talk to our customer service( Butler) and get signed in.
• Taken to our room – discovered only 1 bed ( King ) - We booked triple occupancy ( 3 adults)
• Called Front Desk to ask for a new room and advised[... read more] them need a room to accommodate 3 adults. There idea of accommodating 3 adults is two oversized singles pushed together to make a King and a small cot.
• Told to go to another room - Dragged all our bags down to the new room ( we moved them ourselves)
• The new room was identical to the 1st one
• After a long wait our travel companion came back to say that she just went ahead and booked a 2nd room as they told her they do not have rooms with queen’s or 1 King and a single other than adding a cot they couldn’t help us.
• We were moved to Building 9 –
• We had issues using stairs and they told us that they didn’t have any ground units available ( we would have been ok with 2nd floor as well)
• After complaining we were moved to a lower level room
• Our companion had to pay an extra $533 US to the hotel for the extended stay and she was assured it was for the remainder of our stay.
• We went to get food as it was very, very late in the day and the buffet was closed so we went to the 24 hour snack bar and out of the 10 items they had on the menu. They were out of 7 of them. We had to settle for French fries for our first meal.
• We were asked to meet the next morning in the lobby at 9am by our Hola Sun representative to go over some details of the resort etc.
• We then had to come back to meet our “Butler†to take us on a grounds tour but he wasn’t available and Juan took us. He is awesome. Very nice man and willing to help where ever he could. Unfortunately he wasn’t our butler we have Yasser.
• Yasser wasn’t the most attentive. I asked for my free message to be booked for Wednesday at 10am. He said Yes. I confirmed with him, got Yes. I went for my message at 10am and I wasn’t registered. The SPA ( which is not on the resort) told me that I had to get a white piece of paper from the front desk and bring it with me. This was NOT told to me by Yasser. So I rebooked it this time and got my white piece of paper.
• One person in our group didn’t use her massage so I attempted to use it. I spoke to Yasser on Monday and asked him to see if I could get in Monday ( last day) and use the free one left over. He said he would go and check availability and let me know right away. I sat in the lobby for 35 minutes waiting for him to come back. He never showed up. I gave up and never did get it.
• So now we are now (forgive me all the days are a blur) to either Thursday/Friday when our Hola rep comes to us in the lobby and says that she needs to talk to our friend that the $533 US she paid wasn’t until Tuesday and she would have to be out of her room the next day.
• Well we weren’t pleased. After a heated exchange. Ocean’s refunded Jennies $533 US but then she was forced to go to the bigger market off the resort to get CUC’s I believe it was around $518 plus what she had in her purse and had to pay the Hola Sun to stay in the room.
• Well the next day our friend was getting ready for a bath ( luckily she wasn’t naked yet) and in walks this man and women. The Manager didn’t update the computer and they booked out the room my friend just paid through the nose for, to another couple
• They all went back to the lobby again to get it sorted out.
Other Issues:
• Food was absolutely disgusting. Cold, long lineup’s, tasteless or not even cooked (raw)
• Most times the menu’s they offered were not available ( they didn’t have it in stock)
• Salt and Pepper shakers always plugged and if you took the lids off they were all rusted inside.
• Their themed restaurants were lovely and atmosphere was good but food wasn’t the greatest and the amount of food you got wouldn’t feed a small child.
• Website boasts a Omelette bar where you could get it done the way you want it. Someone should tell them how to cook Omelette’s. I was looking forward to it as I had read the reviews. I got mine and it was raw and not even cooked in the middle.
• For a Caribbean resort their selection of seafood was dismal and it was never cooked ( raw and cold)
• Very little change from day to day in their Buffet. Same ole same ole every day.
• Always long lineup to get to any of their fresh cooked foods( Pasta, fish etc) They need to increase their number of stations to accommodate everyone quicker.
• We were captured ( and I felt that way) the first day but one particular waiter he had the area to the very right of the door coming in ( I don’t remember his name) Unfortunately the area was right beside their service area where they help there very large garbage bins and we were always inundated by flies.
• When we told him, the next day, that we didn’t’ want to sit in the section anymore he said to us†Well there are no flies today because it’s morning†and then proceeded to get mad at us because we didn’t want to sit in his section any more.
• The beach. – The sand was beautiful and the water was great ( if the waves weren’t too high) but there were certain areas of the beach you couldn’t sit on when the tide was high or the winds were high as they were washed away. You could not walk from one end of the beach to the other safely. They also have not cleaned up or repaired a lot of their shade umbrella’s and they are lying in ruins.
• The entertainment was severely lacking. The music was always way to loud. The dancers left a bit to be desired but it did have some highlights here and there.
• There is not much to do at this resort. They tried with Bingo and darts competition but their planned activities need to be worked on.
• Poorly lit walkways at night – really hard to see when it’s dark out
• Music playing way to loud all the time from the main bar area ( our building was the closest) and we had to have our TV to max to hear it
• They really need to put shower curtains in their bathrooms. They have hand held shower things. Even if you stand with it pointing to the back wall, it runs across the tub onto the floor. I ended up mopping up 2 inches of water from the bathroom floor and it ran into the hall of our room and out the door into the hallway. So for them to say they have showers, it is an outright lie. Unless you want a huge mess you have to sit down to use this thing. Especially difficult if you have knee or back issues like I do.
There were some good things about this resort
• The grounds are very nice and clean and well-groomed but the proximity of everything is quite far. If you have mobility issues you definitely do not want to come to this place. Beach is a good 5 min walk from the closest building ( good luck if you are not a privileged guest) it is even further if you are in one of the further away buildings.
• Rooms are respectable and very clean
• Very few bugs – they spray daily
• Cleaning staff was very good but we did have to ask our fridge to be stocked up daily with water or we didn’t get any.
• The service staff was always excellent, drinks were always delicious and served with a smile.
• Our Maid was amazing Jorge.
HUGE THANK YOU TO YETSY AROCHA ACOSTA. She made my whole week bearable. She went out of her way to get what I wanted even if they didn’t’ have it, she would go find it and get it for me.
She always had a huge smile on her face and was so kind with her time and her enthusiasm and love of her job really shone through.
She is an amazing young lady and we are planning to stay in touch by email.
I have travelled all over Canada and some in the US and I have never had this many issues ever.
We spent the first 4-5 days of our vacation worrying if we were safe or not, or what the next issue would be. We were very upset and frankly very angry.
We feel that Hola Sun and the Hotel took advantage of our issue and did absolutely nothing to help us unless we paid extra for it.
I will never ever go back to this resort and plan on telling as many people as I can about the issues were encountered.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Overall very nice!
The hotel is a newer property and is very large and spread out with beauiful pools and a really nice beach. Service in the buffett and at the bars was good. Customer Service office may as well close as they are usless, couldn't care less about any issues with the room, they just smile and say yes, we will fix, and nothing ever happens!
Food is poor even for Cuba, wasn't expecting much, but it was even less than expected, the hotel needs to focus on improving the food selection and quality.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Just an ok vacation, definately not what was advertised!! Resort needs so much work
We have stayed in Punta Cana at least 20 times. This time being one of the more expensive trips to DR. Pros of resort close to airport and a few great employees..and it ends there! None of our requests were honored apon check in have a disabled husband who was place on 3rd floor, rooms outdated or view was the garbage area of the resort next to us. No working phones for 4 days with family back home a wreck not knowing if we arrived safely. Everytime you needed something fixed you would have to w[... read more]alk too reception could not call. We had to 2 rooms with the same problems. Our fridge was always leaking and water would pool from fridge to bed making it difficult for my husband to walk safely in room..reception was told about it several times and on one occasion someone came to look at it but other then that the maid would clean up water the next morning. Showers were awful with mold and always cold water with no pressure. We go to Punta Cana always because its never been disappointing and for the gorgeous beaches. Well unfortunately Ocean blue and Sand has one of the ugliest beach due to at least 13 huge sand bags surrounding the resort..such an eye sore!Only a few employees stood out through our vacation which we rewarded them with gifts and money but in past all employees stood out especially helping my husband with his disablity..we paid for an upgrade which gave us nothing but a regret of the money spent and not staying at a resort we have stayed prior too here. There is no luxury at Ocean Blue and only a very few employees that know what real customer service is. And stay away from the H10 rep(sharks) that hound you for breakfast with a sales pitch for time shares to this resort..They don't know the meaning of NO will be waiting for you outside your room since we didn't have a working phone..total harrassment. Never in all the years going to Punta Cana whether it was 7, 10 or 14 days have I ever been excited about going home. And so dissapointed that the trip was ruined for my son and his girlfriend. Thanks Ocean Blue and Sand for ruining our family vacation this year. Never write reviews but hopefully this helps someone else not fall for the fake reviews and pretty picutres of this resort. Won't be back and come October when planning on bringing 30 people for a SURPRISE 50th it definately won't be with this resort.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Definitely should not be considered more than a 3 star
Beautiful resort, but the food was not up to par for a 4+ place. I have stayed at 3 star places where the food was better. Showers are absolutely ridiculous. Water everywhere. Rooms are no good for more than 2 people, we just booked triple occupancy and the 3rd person ended up paying over a thousand dollars more. I have been to Cuba 15 or more times and this was the worst time ever, and it cost me almost $400 dollars more than the other times that I went.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very Nice Resort
Just opened in Dec. 2016. Very clean and new. The gardens were all still young but I think once they start growing they will be very pretty. Big, clean rooms. Loved the basket swing on the deck. Large bathroom with a separate shower/jet tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We found that at the lobby bar it was understaffed and you had to wait quite a while for their attention. They also didn't take reservations for the speciality restaurants it was a first come first serve basi[... read more]s which made the wait very long. We waited 20 minutes to get our buzzer then had to wait another 30 to have ours sound to tell us we would be seated. All kinks that I'm sure will be worked out over time. The resort was close to 5th Avenue (which I loved). We had a fantastic week of weather and relaxation. Very nice spot and I would go back.

Playa Vista Azul: Disappointing trip
We went to this resort at the recommendation of our agent. Very disappointing. Our room backed on to the new Iberostar resort being built, so sleeping after 630 am was impossible, since the construction crews start early, and sometimes work all night. The level of cleanliness here is low. I quit drinking out of a glass for reasons I'm not going to get into here, and drank strictly from the plastic glasses. 90% of the staff were very unfriendly, and always acted as if we were bothering them. Wi[... read more]th only one exception at the front desk, (Thanks Laura!) nobody is willing to help. We asked for a coffee maker (which most already had in their rooms) for 3 days in a row. We finally got one and it was broken. We were also told that it's best to exchange our money at the hotel, because they give a better rate. The gave us 67 cents on the dollar, while the neighbouring resorts were paying 73. When I asked about this, the man that works in the bank in the hotel told me if I didn't like the rate, to go somewhere else, and closed the window. It goes on and on. My family and I travel a couple of times a year, and this the second worst vacation we've ever had. On the positive side, the beaches are really nice, although the really nice one is a good walk away from the resort. The pools are beautiful, and the weather was great. The bar pool was fun, and the bartenders there were actually quite friendly. I will never recommend this resort, and, quite possibly this travel company. Hey, you asked.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Adult trip to Ocean Riviera Paradise
We traveled to ORP with a group of adults for a parent's get a way. All of us have traveled to the area in the past and were looking forward to returning. We had a great week with no major problems. Found it a little strange that we would have to wait to be seated at the buffet, occasionally causing a line up, but that seemed to improve over the week. As it's a brand new resort you can tell that they are still working out some kinks, but it wouldn't cause me to not recommend to someone else. You could see that most staff were doing everything they could to make things go smoothly.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort!
Great food, however, the a la carts would be less frustrating if you could make a reservation. Sometimes the wait was over an hour to get in. The grounds were nice but not kept as clean as I've seen other resorts. The same with the adult pool. The water was cloudy and not nearly as clear as it should have been. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend the resort. It's a new resort so hopefully it continues to improve.
