Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Old resort needing upgrading

Not a fancy resort but a very beautiful beach, not enough lounge chairs for beach goers, food was the same everyday, large “swamp” in middle of resort with koi fish not attractive, patio door for room broken. Will not return to this resort

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Excellent Resort

We have been to Punta Cana several times. This resort exceeded our expectaton. I would highly recommend it! The staff were very friendly and the standard of service was just amazing. We will definitely return next year.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing time!! loved every minute!!

Right from the start of looking at this resort on Tripadvisor I had contacted Nicolle Kirk ( who by the way was amazing to deal with - highly recommend her ) She took me thru the process and made it ever so easy. This was our very first all inclusive resort. It superseded all of our expectations!! We had went with friends and they are well travelled. Between the two buffets there was lots of choices and the a la carts - delicious. The fridge in the room was stocked daily, and the rooms were very clean. There is lots of choice where you would like to spend your day beach which includes options for shade and sun as well as hammocks. The pool goes on forever. Definitely lots of room and there is even a quiet section!! I had been expecting line up and no chairs wherever I went but this was not the case. I was blown away with the cleanliness of the whole resort. I would definitely recommend this resort. As for ourselves we will definitely be rebooking if the opportunity arises.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Resort, Horrific food

Beautiful resort. Clean, spacious lobby. Reasonably maintained facilities and grounds. Some of the bathrooms did not have toilet paper or were not functioning. Also the water features were not functioning. Not a huge minus but it would certainly have been a positive addition to the ambiance. This is a big resort. If you are staying at the Grand Village compound you will need to take a shuttle to the Buffet. The Park compound is a fair walk as well. The beaches and pools are beautiful. The water  [... read more]is a beautiful aqua and fantastically clear. There is also a large fish just off shore that is incredibly tame. Most of the people we met were returnees and were familiar with the fish which they had taken to calling George. George will swim up to you expecting a handout. He likes ham chunks and eggs. The negative for me is that there is a limited number of palapas and umbrellas at the beaches and pools. The resort has posted that ‘reserving’ lounge chairs is not permitted but it is certainly not enforced. The giant negative for me was the food. I was told that the food last year was much better but there is a new chef. I can’t confirm that but the food I experienced was just horrific. Under done fish or over done meat. Frozen fries, not kidding, it looked like they dumped frozen fries under the heat lamps and expected them to cook that way. Gelatinous pasta at the Italian a la carte. Poor selection of breads and fruits. Not sure if this is because of location as this was not the situation at Iberostar Veradero. My experience there is what led me to come Iberostar Ensenachos. My absolute what the heck moment was watching one of the service staff at breakfast pour 3 different remnants of orange juice and one of ice from cleared tables together and then serve it to a guest. Stopped drinking the orange juice after that. It’s such a beautiful resort but I won’t be back.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: One of the best resorts I've ever been to!

Such a great experience! The staff were very nice, the hotel amenities were very impressive, and the restaurant and buffet were better than I expected! I'm fact it is hands down the best buffet I've ever seen. Rooms were very spacious and had great views. The pool and ares were great, with poolside waitresses offering drinks at every turn. My only complaint about this hotel would be that the "24hr" room service food was really below par. It was nowhere near the same level as the buffet  [... read more]or restaurants. Also it's worth noting that they do stop serving alcohol throughout the entire resort around 2am. All in all, it was my best all inclusive experience and I would recommend it highly!!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: amazing resort

Lindo was very clean, the rooms were a wee bit dated however comfortable, no complaints about food, we visited three parts to Iberostar elegant properties, would highly recommend to families, many activities for all, pools clean, ocean a little rough only had a few days of ocean swimming however beach very clean, staff were most helpful, we hired the photographer at the lindos to take family portraits excellent however pricey photos,

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Dirty Room/ beautiful water front & Good food

I , my husband & my daughter stayed in this hotel from march 31 to april 7, it was very disappointing bec they gave us room that is 1 bed only that accordingly, the 2 bedroom junior suite that i paid & booked was not available when we arrived! we've waited for 3 hours yet still my room wasn't available!the housekeeper did a good job on making blanket arts animal but poor in cleaning the room! the management should keep checking the rooms of the hotel to make it sure that its always clean! they s [... read more]houkd implement thorough cleanliness of the rooms. bathroom floor & sink are filthy! they should do dusting, mapping the floor & wash the sink & the shower room sink with detergent! poor quality of cleaning. over all, all staff, workers were fantastiko! the kids club are amazing! amazing staff! thanks to Ketty, Yelene, Mely & the other girl( forgot her name) for taking care well of my daughter, she had fun with them every minute! all the food are very good( im not picky eater) all the chef's were very patient & kind & also all the servers,the beach area at the hotel was a bit lacking yet its good for snorkeling & theres alot of chairs with umbrella shades around.the swimming pools are beautiful. there is a another beach called pilar beach was only 15 minutes walk from this resort, its a cristal beach indeed! its breathetaking beach! i wasn't please with the coctail bars... the management should limit serving of alcohol drinks, i saw drunk people in the swimming pools while many kids around, drunk people in the beach & during the night of entertainment. its fun to drink but there should be limit of serving drinks. the LOngina, international buffet is very good! variety of food. the sukiyaki restaurant food is not really good, but the chef presentation was amazing! the cuban restaurant is fantastik! the GOUrmet restaurant is bad! bad service & bad tough beef steak! we went to eat there on april 5 at 7:30 pm, the bad waitres put us in a very inconvenient place where our table is beside the kitchen door- ( table for 2 people only yet we are 3 peole that has been reserved/booked!) our table is far away from the other costumers tables, yet theres alot of empty tables that available until we finished our dinner. we feel that the waitres treated us differently from the other costumers! i paid so much money for this hotel & not expecting to be treated that way. during our stay in this hotel... we are a very generous giver / tipper to all the staff & workers in this hotel. The Cuban restaurant is fantastik! the waiter & the waitress are very polite.the entertainment were amazing! Above all, despites of those issues... we had fun with food, in the swimming pools & in the beach.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing resort

This is our 5th or 6th time to this resort. We do love the resort which is why we keep going back. There are some things that needs attention. The gym equipment that was broken last year is still broken this year but maybe not a lot of ppl use the gym. Other than that I have no complaints. Everything worked in the room, the grounds are well kept and the beach is to die for. We were a bit disappointed with the entertainment the first couple of days this trip, but it was made up for. Iberostar Origin Tainos: My vacation

I'd like to start by saying the staff are all very friendly and willing to help and get to know you. Very happy people and I don't want my review to reflect badly on the staff. The resort is older, and run down which did not bother me much, it was things I observed. It had to do with cleanliness of the resort. I observed very little maintenance being done on the grounds, walk ways are dirty, would not walk them bare feet, the pool area at night wasn't swept or dishes picked up, you would often s [... read more]ee dishes from the day before still sitting there. Garbages alone the walk way weren't emptied on a regular basis. We saw the pool being cleaned only once during our week long stay, and they cleaned it at 2 in the afternoon while people were trying to swim. They should have signs up requiring all babies and young children to wear swim pants. We watched families in the pool with infants wearing no bottoms, very unsanitary for infant and fellow swimmers. I also don't think the cleaning staff has been trained properly on how to clean. We watched them retrieve their water, for washing and cleaning, from a pool or fountain of stagnant water. This was used to wipe down bathrooms and mop floors. They also used the same rag to wipe toilets, sinks, and then wash floors with, then move on to the next washroom. Practices like this can make people very sick and transmit diseases. In the dining area, the table cloths were dirty, not sure how often they were even changed. Some meals we could end up checking 10-15 tables before we found a clean one. In the Buffett area, there were not enough serving utensils and people were using tongs from one dish to another, this brings up issues of severe food allergies to fish, nuts etc. I also watched a cook using tongs on vegetables to transfer to a grill then use same tongs on raw chicken.. He then placed the tongs on top of the raw vegetables. Raw Meat sat out for long periods of time at the out door snack bar, not refrigerated or on ice. Also saw an open box filled with diner rolls sitting abanded out side the laundry shack waiting to be delivered and no one around except the birds. We did hear a lot of people complaining about stomach issues which could have been because of these observations. Staff should be made aware of cross contamination. The rooms, very sparse and uncomfortable furnishings, two wooden chairs,and one was broken. The bottom of the doors need to have a sweep on them to prevent animals from entering the room. (Found a cockroach in our room, as well as little lizards ) I feel a lot of these issues can be resolved with proper training. I did hear gossip that they were under new management, I hope they can turn things around .. At the current time I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada Hotel Dominican Republic

Food was good lots of choices to choose from, Hotel was clean and nice view. Lots of entertainment and sports which I enjoyed for example tennis and volleyball and variety of drinks at the bars. Evening shows were nice especially Dominican shows and live music near the theatre.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Nice Resort

The resort was beautiful, the rooms were kept clean, but I found the rooms damp. I must say for Cuba the food was good, very tasty not bland. The beach is beautiful, the only problem I had with the beach is the size, it’s not big enough for the capacity of people this resort accommodates. Overall we had a good stay at the Iberostar Bella Vista.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Mixture of good and bad ....

I have mixed feelings about this resort. The rooms are pretty decent. Not too fancy but a/c worked great. Although the latches on the patio doors were missing so you couldn't lock those doors at all. ( I was in the rooms near the main lobby) It costs extra to use the room safes. The food was pretty good. Not everything was labelled, so had to guess on a few things. The buffet kitchen is supposed to be air conditioned but they weren't working when I was there. One pet peave I had was the fac [... read more]t the snack bar was only open from noon til 6 pm. All because they use the snack bar as the Italian Al a Carte. Then if you want snacks you have to go to the Mexican Al a Carte from 11 pm to 7 am. The beach is pretty good. But you don't have to go very far in the water to end up in a lot of seaweed. Lots of beach chairs and shadey umbrellas and pergulas. The pool is ok. Not the biggest. Not enough umbrellas around the pool for shade. If you want shade you have to get up at 4 am to save yourself a seat under an umbrella. It would be nice if there was a 2nd row of umbrellas around the pool. The staff was great, really nice, really hard workers. The entertainment was great, but because it was held in the main lobby, there just wasn't enough tables and chairs for everyone. Even though my review shows I wouldn't recommend this hotel, I still believe it's a personal choice. It's an OK place to go but it isn't top notch.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Very nice resort!

This resort is very big! The beach is beautiful and well maintained. We had to change rooms the first night as our room had no safe and our shower head was not mounted to the wall. We spoke with Kensy at guest services and he was quick to act and get us a nice new room for the following day! Kensy was great and all of the staff were very friendly. The food was typical food for resorts in Cuba so it was just okay. We found that this resort didn't staff the bars properly and only ever [... read more] had one bartender in the lobby bar. Even when there were 20+ people waiting for a drink. The pool bar was better with two bartenders on each side. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent and the grounds were well maintained!

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Good Resort

When we arrived at the hotel our room was not ready yet....this was at 2:30pm. They asked us to come back at 3pm to check in as our room would be ready. We went back to check into our room and it wasn't ready until 3:45. While we were waiting for our room to be ready we booked our 3 a la carte dinners. They said they would squeeze us in as they were booked solid. Upon arriving at each of our a la carte meals the restaurants were 3/4 empty. The Mexican restaurant didn't have many selections and the Steakhouse overcooked the steak. The entertainment was good but way too late for kids. The entertainment started at 9:30pm and ended between 10:30pm and 11pm. It was pouring rain out and all rooms were suppose to have an umbrella in the closet. We did not have one and we requested one from the front desk and never received one. We scheduled a pick up the night before we were to leave with the bell boy for 8:45am the next morning. No one showed to pick us up and nobody answered the phone when we called. We ended up having to walk our luggage to the front. On a positive note the buffets were fantastic. The waiters were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders were great with our kids who loved ordering different drinks. The entertainment staff was fantastic as well. We enjoyed the shows and events that they put on throughout the day. The resort was very clean. Our room was cleaned daily and the fridge was always refilled. There was lots of wildlife which was a big hit with our kids. The wifi was good as well.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Okay Resort

People where friendly, Food could be better. Housekeeping great. The mini bar never stocked. ie. No water as well had to consistently ask for more toliet paper. Not a great experience. One great experience was at the beach playa pilar. Amazing. Definitely would not rate this hotel as a 4 star.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fabulous beach side resort!!

We stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri for 7 days in early April 2019. Our room was clean and comfortable but best of all was the awesome ocean view from our patio, it was stunning! The resort was just the right size for us with everything within a few minutes walk. Pool was clean and clear with 3 sections, one was very active with lots of activities and music with a swim up bar, in the middle was the kids pool and one the other side was the more quieter side for relaxation. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I felt very safe on this resort. The gem of this resort though is the beach! It had white clean sand with lots of umbrellas and chairs with a beach bar very close by. I’m hoping to visit this resort in the near future for another great vacation.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: GREAT SATISFACTION

This was my second time at the Iberostar Laguna Azul and I must say that they did a really great job in showing that I was a repeat customer. Our room had an amazing view so I thank them very much for that! I was disappointed however that they did not serve fresh mangos nor did they have coconut icecream this time. We also missed the band they get to play outside on the veranda. We love this hotel. All of the staff are very helpful and courteous. We have now been here five times. We would definitely return. The rooms are kept very clean. The food was excellent. The beach is fantastic.

The resort is absolutely beautiful, the beach is amazing. The food was great & the drinks as well. What most impressed me tho was the service; everyone was so fun & kind. Will return for sure & recommend it to friends & family.
