Playa Pesquero: not the best we ever been to

Playa Pesquero: Had a great time here. Amazing

Only thing is they need to have more music and ententaiment at evening and night like a mini club near the resort also to play more music in the lobby. Other than that everything was great and beautiful

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Home away from home

An amazing vacation! This was our 10 time in this resort and it was great. Rooms are spacious and very clean (we prefer Luna side), and even though they are a bit outdated, they are very comfortable. Food was as always very tasty - from buffet to beach restaurant to a la carte restaurants - lots of choices. My fave is a Beach restaurant (Mediterranean) with their yummy lunch shrimp. From swimming, snorkelling, katarmaran rides to fishing and early morning walks - this is remarkable beach. So now - why did I name this review: Home away from home? Because every time I see the roof of Mares side on our way to resort I feel like I’m coming home. Staff at this resort cares about their guests and goes over and beyond their jobs to make your stay one to remember. Thanks to Irina, Yanet, Ronald, Lilly, Giaccomo, and many more, you will always want to come back.

Playa Costa Verde: Amazing

The resort was great, staff, food and rooms were great as well.I will tell all my friends about this place. The bugs were bad and the airline did lose my luggage on the way home. The restaurants were great as well

Sol Turquesa Beach: Good family resort

I found the food to be a bit better then the norm, but the à la cartes to be way worse. The beach was nice, te water not quit as clear as I had remembered. A lot of the staff struggled with English but were on the whole very friendly. It was nice as a family as it was fairly quite.

Brisas Covarrubias: Little-known gem

Hotel and grounds - lovely areas and gardens Spacious and beautiful buffet restaurant - best food variety I have seen on my 10 years of going to Cuba Rooms - spacious, and any issues were resolved. Day activities by animation staff were minimal, despite a full listing on display at the hotel (which is often the case, you must ask the person on duty if something will take place that day, and then they will do it). Nightly entertainment was mostly music, no variety and minimal effort m [... read more]ade. The disco on the beach (beautiful building) was only open once during the week. Watersports - the catamaran did not go out all days, only 1 pedal boat and I did not see any kayaks. Beach bar and building very nice, you could have lunch there, but it closed at 4 pm. The biggest inconvenience were the mosquitoes (though this improved on fumigation) and the invisible biting flies. Repellent needed anytime you leave the room, especially on the lower legs. Overall a very nice stay and I would return.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort!

Food was very good and the beaches really nice. Everyone was friendly. We spent super good time singing karaoke at night and eating fried chicken during the day. Their chicken is GOOD. There is also scuba diving right next to the beach.

Playa Pesquero: Lovely resort - great customer service

We decided on a last minute trip to Cuba and had been to Holguin once before and decided on Playa Pesquero, Holguin. We have never travelled to a Caribbean destination this late in the year (May), we found the weather incredibly humid and hot. I like a more moderate temperature without the humidity. Many of the resort guests especially the British tourists seemed to love it so this is a personal reflection. Lively karaoke restaurant bar and all located in a corridor village type setting which was very convenient. Nice lobby with nightly entertainment, pianist, opera singer. Loved the cappuccino bar in the lobby, also serving specialty Irish, Spanish coffees. We didn't take in any of the night shows which are located close to the lobby. The resort has fabulous pools very suitable for young families and the one beauty of being there in May is there are very little line ups and easy to access lounge chairs with lots of coverage for shade. I prefer the ocean and beach, the water was refreshing and not quite the hot soup temperature of the pools. Loved the ocean, my favourite with some snorkelling right off the beach. The food based on Cuba standards was amazing and our favourite a la carte was the Italian. The main buffet restaurant was exceptionally good as I am not usually a fan of buffets at resorts. We have travelled to many resorts over the years, Mexico, Dominican Rep, Roatan, Margarita Island Venezuela, Cuba and this was one of our favourites in Cuba in line with Caya Santa Maria. The resort has a lovely aqua spa with very professional standards. We went for a therapeutic massage as I use an RMT routinely for back issues in Canada and their practitioners are in line with Canadian RMT standards, excellent. We were thrilled that the king bed in our room was so comfortable, we are in our 60's so that is important now. two storey bungalows which is great not too many stairs, good size, lovely balcony. It is a large resort so we are at a stage where we would prefer a smaller one but honestly the customer service was top notch.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Disappointed

This was, I think our fourth time to this resort and it has been excellent up to this time. We travelled last week, from May 12-19, we were very surprised to know that Blau resort is being changed to Fiesta Americana. Another surprised was that a lot of the restaurants were closed, only one was opened. The worst part was that the buffet restaurant was closed which was terrible, and they were hosting the buffet in the Cuban restaurant which is in the open, which meant flies all over the food whi [... read more]ch was disgusting. We struggle all week for meal times, usually meaning to eat a hamburger and fries, extremely late breakfast at the snack bar and we ended up eating chips and chocolate bars from the store for dinner for the last 3 days since there was no more restaurants to go to. The grounds were good, mostly the pool for “plus” customer only and that meant us since we paid for it which was a great thing. The workers in the snack bar and the pizza place were great, the maid did an excellent job cleaning our room, it was always spotless even the floors. She was very friendly and very courteous. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a back up for food to eat, which I didn’t. I would recommend it until they open the buffet restaurant with closed windows. Hopefully they do soon for people to enjoy this wonderful resort.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Very nice resort

A very bright and clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Large lobby with excellent WiFi . Many areas for dinning and snacking. Two large pools with swim up Awesome beach with a wide sidewalk that runs the length of it so you can find a spot before entering the sand. totally relaxing.

Playa Pesquero: 2nd time to this resort and love it, will be going back

This resort has so much to offer, even though it is big, getting around is quite easy, I just love the boulevard with the 24 hour snack bar, ice cream parlour and the mojito bar (best mojito's I have ever had, make sure you try the strawberry ones) and lunch restaurant (fried chicken is so good)! The beach is beautiful and the water so clear. The lobby is huge with many little sections to sit and enjoy a drink or a coffee, listen to music an watch the show. The a la carte's are to die  [... read more]for, service excellent and oh the lobster is fantastic at all of them. The only concern I had was the bank had no pesos for almost three days and this made it really hard for tipping, when you have to keep asking for change, not fair to all the wonderful staff there that work very hard. Most were very accommodating to make change but it is frustrating to have to ask all the time. We will be going back for sure some day.

Playa Costa Verde: Amazing

Grounds were very clean.the staff were very nice.food was good.loved all the shell fish.rooms were clean.the only thing was all the children sitting at the swimup bar. It was loud and annoying. Other than that I love this place.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great memories

Lots to pick from for food , always can find a nice glass of wine or a cool glass of beer , rooms were clean and refreshing , resort is a bit spread out but always enough close by to meet your needs . I’d upgrade from the beginning don’t waist your time doing it there . The ladies are wonderful but victor not so much .. I would go back just not tomorrow.. 😊

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice Resort

Nice Resort to relax. If going to Cuba this would be a good resort to pick. Food was fair to good. Beach was calm and nice. Rooms very spacious and clean. People were great. All in all good value for money.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Not what you’ve heard.

My sister and l just came back from Holguin Cuba. May 2018 I always avoided booking the Blau Costa Verde because people said there are rocks on the beach, the food is not so good, and the place needs lots of TLC. So l went not expecting much at all since even the weather was showing to be raining and cloudy. I decided to see Everything for myself. The Hotel is under new management (Mexican) and is now already being called Fiesta Americana Costa Verde. Changes are under way. The Potential of this resort is going to be awesome. I told them l really enjoyed my holiday, the weather was great, the Beach is Beautiful, the food will improve along with everything else and yet we ate happily and we’re always satisfied. I think one day soon this resort is going to be amazing. I’m looking forward to returning as soon as the improvements are done.

Brisas Guardalavaca: 3 1/2 star

The hotel was nice the beach was nice, the food ok overall hotel was nice so far from airport though the rooms were good and the beach and service was ok, would not go back there, don't know what else to say I have been at better.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: good

resort was old and outdated. No fresh water left in the room. Parts of the resort were either closed or shut down for the season, very disappointing.Very slow service at the main pool bar. The lobby bar was great with great service but was so hot you couldn't stay, felt bad for the workers at this bar as there was NO air circulation.

Playa Costa Verde: Fun resort

I have stayed at the playa costa verde 3 times now. I keep going back because i absolutely love this resort. I have made many friends of the staff..the grounds are gorgeous, the food is amazing . the enertainment is second to none. I will go back every year.

Brisas Covarrubias: Wouldn’t go back.

The beach was amazing and the Cuban workers were the redeeming factor in this resort. This was my 5 Th time in Cuba and I never had to pay to have my room water or pop replaced. This resort offered it as a VIP room service. To be billed to your room. The weather was as expected for May. Our other reason for not going back is because they crank the music up so loud we had to leave the bar 3 nights. On the weekend they stopped translating the shows, so we had a hard time keeping up and enjoyin [... read more]g the shows. There were no international drinks offered. Not even the expensive few bottles they had were worth it. We both got sick and lost a few days. The resort kindly comped us the 25CUC late fee to keep our room. Other guest said they got the same offer because there wouldn't be any guest coming in for a few days. This is a stay on the beach kind of resort. It's a 3 star at best. For a Brisas I was expecting better. For another $150 we could have gone to Oceans de la Mar which is a 4.5 star, in Cayo Santa Marie.
