Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Friendly resort

The resort is good, very clean and well maintain. There is a lot of pools, restaurants and bars. Everyone can find what he needs - relax and tranquility, or party and fun. The animation is ok. The service is perfect.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: 4.5 star!

My husband and I just returned from CMR and I was pleasantly surprised! My husband booked the trip and when I found out it was a 3.5 star I was very worried as we traveled all over the world and to some pretty amazing resorts and hotels. The hotel decor was chic and trendy, friendly staff and great food/drinks! We had no complaints and the price was unbeatable!

Paradise Playa Dorada: A great week away

We stayed at grand paradise last week with two couples . We had a great week . This was my third time staying in playa dorada complex. My favourite part was the location and size of the beachfront where I spent most of my time . Hubby preferred the pool as he likes staying out of the sun . The pool was very cold and half of it (where swim up bar is) shaded . I didn’t like that but hubby didn’t mind . Food was good . Service was good . Room was good we had supersaver room so it was above fourth floor - lots of stairs , and no balcony which we didn’t know when we booked . But the window above our bed overlooked the ocean so if we stood on our bed we had a nice view lol. Shows were good and went til 11. After that there was a disco for those that wanted . Drinks and food aren’t served after 1 am so my husband often went off resort and paid for drinks at the local pub in the complex - a later bar in the resort would have been better. Overall we wanted a nice getaway to relax and unwind and that’s what we did ! This was my 6th all inclusive and definately not my favourite resort but we always have fun! The beach was large and close to everything so that I loved !

Playabachata Hotel: Great Place Overall

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks this month. It was a perfect escape from winter and overall it's a good place. We have been going to a different place 3 times each year for a few years trying to find one we love. Playabachata is finally almost that one. It's very clean and will kept. The rooms are a bit dated but for the price, we're ok with that. Our room did have a hair dryer but I learned later that many of the rooms didn't. Our biggest complaint would have to be the smokers. It's a little behind the times to allow smoking under the roof at the theater. I don't wanna call it a building when there's no walls, not sure what to call it Anyway we found that even with this, many smokers were ignorant of the non-smoking signs in the non-smoking section and would either move them and bring an ash tray from the smoking side or simply stand or walk around smoking which is absolutely disgusting. There wasnt much done to enforce the rules. Also the way its setup, non-smokers have to walk through the smoking section to get to the bar which was also all smoking. We pointed out smokers in the non-smoking section to staff a couple times and they were asked to stop. We did notice staff telling people they couldn't smoke in places after that. Not sure if its because we said something or not but it didn't seem quite as bad. Maybe they were scared of us lol I'm sure I'll have people reading this and saying "quit you're whining". It's just very inconsiderate and no one should have to breathe smoke, especially children who are running around everywhere. I saw quite a few pregnant women as well. Anyway that would be our biggest complaint and the reason of not returning. Other than that, we loved it and hope the smoking issue gets resolved. We'd love to make this our go to place. So for the good stuff, it's extremely clean. They have a maid hanging out in the bathroom mopping and cleaning the stalls constantly. The grounds keepers are constantly cleaning up dead leaves. The garbage was always empty. The second a spec of dirt was in the pool, the guys came and cleaned it. The bartenders were super fast and friendly. There were self serve stations set up everywhere for coffee, water, juice, pop, and wine. This was awesome cause you didn't have to wait for anything and it also freed up the staff for other things. The staff in the buffet were also very fast and friendly. The Buffett itself was excellent with many choices. There was always a huge salad bar, full fruit bar, soup, pizza, cooked vegetables, pork, chicken, fish, desserts, etc. Also lots of sauces you could add if you wanted. The snack bar was as good as some buffets I've been to at other places. They had the normal gross burgers and hotdogs but also a pasta, pork, fish, or chicken choice. Full salad bar, icecream, desserts, soup, and 5 kinds of pizza. Awesome. The beach was great and not washing away because it's in a cove. Its gorgeous and runs the whole length of the 3 resorts. The gym was really good. We went every day. On the second floor with a full view of the beach with a/c. All new equipment that worked too. We loved watching the cruise ships coming in an out while working out too. The entertainment was alright. They did a good job. The dancing was impressive. They weren't as into crowd participation as we would've liked but they may change. It was decent entertainment though. You do have to get there early if you want a table. There were no solisitors on the beach which was very nice and also tons of benches to sit on at the beach or pool. Lots of room everywhere actually. We never felt squished in a corner or anything. Overall great place, just do something about the smoking!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice resort for those who not like to do too much walking.

Was interesting to meet so many repeat visitors and, I myself would go back. Beach was clean and there was always a shady spot if required. Very friendly staff except for one bad apple "The Supervisor" he was not about the comfort of his visitors but about business. a la carte, not worth the hassle to get the reservations. The staff main focus was getting you seated and out ASAP.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great resort!!

My husband and I stayed at Blue Bay Feb 5 to 12 and we had an amazing time.The staff were amazing and very accomadating.I have RA and was originally put on the third floor we spoke to the front desk and the next morning I was given a room on the ground floor.The resort was very clean ,great food at the buffet we didnt care for the a la carte so we stuck with the buffet. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Fabulous resort

This was our second time at this resort , the hotel staff are very friendly especially alejandro , the food is good along with the al la cartes, the resort is kept very clean at all times, its a 3 to 5 minute walk to the wonderful beach, the animation team consisting of Peter Pan, Elastic Boy, Pinkie, Lilo, Jack Sparrow, Joker,Kitty, Chocolate,DJ, Africa, Candy Love,and the new additions to the team Chicken Legs, Tinkerbell and Honey , they're supervisor Black Panther are the best of the best ke [... read more]ep you intertained with all the games and activities they love what they do and treat everyone like family. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Was not happy with everything

The food was ok Some people at front desk were not pleasant we were short a beach towel in the vip room and took a day and half to get one we tried to exchange Canadian money at front desk were told 4 different times to come back later they never had turn down service and we had to book À la cart when it said we didn’t need reservations and we had a hard time getting an umbrella was not totally satisfied with the experience

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Family Vacation 2019

The hotel grounds were very nice and clean. Food is amazing Kids club was awesome at the resort beside Hotel needs to work on service and hire more staff Our kids loved the ice cream and pizza shop👍

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Very nice resort!

The resort very compact .Everithyng steps away. I recently was staying at ocean view superior room.Room spacious and clean.I would recommend Adult packedge ,absolutely worth the money.You got a better service with this upgrade that includes VIP launch and VIP beach .I liked Mexican and Rodizio restorants that if You Adult club You do not need reservation.The stuff very nice ,they try to make Your vacation more pleasant.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Fun and extremely clean resort

Great food, great service and outstanding cleanliness. For example, beach towel were available in room upon arrival and fridge fully stocked, been cold drinks, water, etc. Entertainment staff was hilarious! Will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to go to. Puerto Plata.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Blue Bay 2019

There is not one bad word to say. This is an Amazing resort. There are always things to do. The staff is extremely interactive. Games are played everyday. The foam party is quite the experience. We didn't take advantage of the a la carte, the buffet was too good, plentiful and had a variety well over expectations. I would recommend this to anyone. Even the gift shop was very well priced.

The staff was amazing our room was a good size, the resort was super clean. The location was good if you want to do off resort activities. No iron in room and the at front desk wasn't working.the staff was the best thing

When I arrived on Monday night I was given a room on the ground floor with a patio overlooking some trashy backyard...complained and was given a room by the pool with a balcony.It was very nice.The first week was great however by Sunday night I started itching and Monday morning I woke up with red bites on my arms.They changed my room but unfortunately it was very noisy from some kind of machinery close to the room from early in the morning till late afternoon.Complaned again but was told they h [... read more]ave no free room until Friday.I moved to a new room than.Saturday night started itching again...woke up with bites all over my body Sunday morning.A Sunwing representative took a report but the hotel said since I will be leaving Monday they can not give me an other room.The second week was a nightmare and I am still recovering from the bites.I have submitted a complaint to Sunwing and waiting to hear from them.In the other hand the resort is nice...friendly stuff...good food...it is unfortunate that they have this bedbug problem.They tried to tell me that the bugs are from the beach but I only went to the beach twice in the first week...the waves were too strong for me in the ocean...after that I only used the pools.

Playabachata Hotel: Playa resort plaayyaass

The resort was great, friendly staff, great food, nice pools and nice ocean view. We took an excursion out to paradise island that was stunning! Would recommend! The locals on the beach weren't too pushy and the process for booking the excursion was easy. Would go again :)

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: good value resort for relaxation

even though the resort needs updating, the beach was extremely clean, staff was very friendly and curteous, and the food was also very good ,the activities staff was excellent on engaging the vacationers on a variety of activities. I would recommend this resort .

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Three Star Resort

Buffet was good. Many choices. The grounds were very well maintained. We ate at two restaurants on the resort and not impressed by either We got very ill after eating at the fish restaurant. My friend was sick for three days and I was sick for nine days. Wipe out vacation. Staff were fantastic. Very friendly and aimed to please. Dancers were amazing

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Good!

We visited the Bahia from January 25th, until February 3rd. As many have said, the resort is about an hour away from the airport (bumpy drive) but not a big deal. It is important to note that this is the first of the Bahia Principe chain & has not been updated in years (if ever). It is much smaller than many of the other Bahias, but still beautiful & ALWAYS clean. We had absolutely no problems with our rooms. The AC was perfect; the shower, although low on pressure, always had hot water; the [... read more] maids work VERY hard and our room was always clean by 1PM. The hotel does not offer free WIFI, but you can purchase it for the week for $12 Canadian at the lobby (it worked great all through the resort). Do not purchase the one that appears when you try to log on yourself, it will say $70… Go to the lobby & they will pick the right one! Check in/out were both easy as well. The food at the resort was good. Not amazing, but not horrible. The buffet was a little repetitive, but the food was good. It was a very typical buffet with enough of a variety each day to make sure everyone had a choice. Breakfast was the best in my opinion as they had an egg, and omelette station every morning. Much like the rest of the resort, the service of the buffet staff was great. They work very hard to please everyone! The A-La-Cartes were amazing! We did all three;The Mediterranean, The Takera, as well as the Dolce Vita (Italian). These were defiantly our best meals of the week, so I do recommend booking them. We went on our first day, and had no problems booking all three… Don’t wait until the middle of the week, and you won’t have a problem (this is common with ALL resorts). The pool is great! It was over 30 degrees every day, so the pool was the perfect place to cool off. The pool-bar was a little slow, but I do feel they are a little understaffed in that area. However, they were all awesome! They knew our choice of drinks a few days in. The Beach is okay… It does have a lot seaweed and shells along the shore, but we didn’t mind. Punta Cana has nicer beaches, but we knew this going there so we were not disappointed. It was still beautiful! It was a pretty quiet resort. It always depends on the group of people staying at the resort at the same time as you. We didn’t seem to have too many young groups, more couples (wanting to be stay low) so that probably added to the lack of stuff going on. There weren’t too many games throughout the day, which are usually fun but we still stayed busy! Overall our stay here at Bahia San Juan was great. We have been to so many different resorts, all throughout the Caribbean & we still enjoyed our week here & then some. Some people on here seem to be expecting a world class resort, and that is simply not the case when you’re paying the cheaper price to stay here. The staff were all beyond amazing. They were helpful, polite, and truly seemed to love working there. Everyone was friendly, and always willing to help! Eddy & Rafael made our day every single day at the buffet. Rosanna was very sweet. Waldy in the Lobby was very helpful and defiantly knew what he was doing! Joel & Juan, and the entire entertainment staff were awesome as well. Amazing staff indeed!
