Canto Del Sol: great as usual

as usual Canto Del Sol brings the "relax" in relaxing vacations. pool service by Jorge is the best. and they just built a new pool on the opposite side of the complex, great for families and kids and keeps the beachfront patio a litttle quieter and less congested

Las Palmas by the Sea: Fantastico !!

Location is excellent !! Located in the heart of Las Glorias area with easy access to all desired out of resort options including downtown and Malecon one way and Walmart and the Marina the other way. Great beach area with 'wall' along front of resort to sit and watch the ocean and sunsets. The staff was excellent and helpful when needed. The lounge chairs and pools were wonderful with many options for shade or sun, active or quiet areas with bar service to all. The water pressure in shower  [... read more]was awesome although it changed temperature so shower was hot to cool to hot ... but still good. Recommend requesting the 'topper' for the bed as they are very hard. All in all .. had a great holiday and enjoyed this resort very much!!

Costa Club Punta Arena: Great value

The price was right for this hotel. Always kept very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to remember your drink order. The food was decent we always found a couple dishes that were good. We requested a refrigerator in our 2 bedroom suite, as we were travelling with 2 small children, and after a couple of back and forth emails with the hotel directly we were granted our request. Wifi was terrible, didn't work in our room, but worked very well in the lob [... read more]by. The weekends get very busy with locals, so get on your chairs early. The beach could use more chairs and umbrellas. We didn't use the adult pool or Italian restaurant as we were with our children. Snack bar was decent burgers look scary but were decent! Value for our money was excellent, We didn't feel bad going out for a couple of dinners and lunches as we wanted more authentic Mexican food. The bed in our room was comfy, but the one in the other bedroom was a little hard for my liking. Ocean view in tower 19 was a nice bonus! This was our second time staying here and we will return.

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Beautiful and Relaxing

We loved the resort! Beautiful grounds with a nice variety of pools scattered throughout the resort. We were looking for a quiet resort and we got exactly that! Food was great with the breakfast buffet being our favourite. More variety was available at breakfast. Our room was 4111 and it was beautiful! We didn't have neighbours until the last night so sound issues were not a problem. Beautiful soaker tub and a balcony over looking the jungle. Birds in the morning and incredible stars at night.  [... read more] All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Pool side drink service was a nice touch. The resort is set into a hill so expect to do some walking as the rooms are not near the restaurants and buffet or the main pool area. We only went to the beach once because we didn't really enjoy it. Water was rough and not marked where you could swim. Beach is a little rocky and has the brown sand that is typical to the area. We are normally beach people but found the pools to be comfortable and quiet and didn't find the need to board the shuttle down to the beach again. We would definitely return to the resort again. They are still making changes and expanding so I hope it doesn't become so popular that it loses the boutique feel.

Samba Vallarta: Lovely family holiday

We really enjoyed our stay here, it was the perfect size resort to go to with children 6 and 8 yo. They could have a bit of freedom and we didn't have to worry, we could see them almost everywhere in the pools. Staff are lovely and friendly as all mentioned previously. The activities staff have endless energy and clearly love their work. Everyone at the resort was working very hard! Great cleaning staff. The pool was always immaculate except our last day on Sunday. We didn't use the kids clu [... read more]b at all- wish they had at least one night a week with later activities so we could have eaten dinner as couple. Nightly entertainment was good, kids especially liked it- would prefer if it started at 830 vs 9 as many people missed out as too tired from the day. We never made it to the dance nights Fri and Sat at 11 but would have been nice to had it started around 10. Not sure how hopping it would be as many families but some older couples and a few younger couples arrived the weekend we were leaving so who knows. I would recommend this resort for families not couples. Our first room was near the laundry and the hum of the machines affected my sleep but the front desk was very accomodating when I enquired about a switch. Tip- do not stay in second floor rooms with smaller numbers as they are on the way to the front desk so you get a lot more hallway noise, we moved to the 3rd floor after 2 nights and much quieter. Rooms facing the Rui are better ventilated/dryer (even numbered) than those facing the pool as they get more sun. You do have to listen to the Rui's bingo games if you are in the room mid day but at night our AC drowned out their activities which ended at 11pm. Beds were comfotable. Food was good, not great, don't miss the Mexican night, it was the best. We got to eat at both a la carts as they rotate locations (beach side vs inside-kids are not allowed at inside a la carte) Many people didn't understand that kids could go to the Italian restaurant when it was outside. Dessert at Italian was some much needed chocolate, yum! Beach side restaurant gets slammed at lunch (opens 1230) while inside buffet is almost empty (opens at 1)- they need to staff beachside restaurant better at lunch or open it at noon to ease congestion. People with children are up early and so hungry well before 1230. Please consider stocking guacamole instead of having to ask for it at beachside restaurant at lunch and herefore needing to wait often for it to be made. Guacamole in Mexico is a must!! Kudos to beachside chef manning the grill who was always pleasant even when under pressure. Sorry I can't remember his name! Best stretch of beach in the area but generally the beach along here is quite nice. Loved the oceanside beach huts for shade. watch for stingrays someone got stung day 1- shuffle!

Casa Velas: Beautiful Resort

This was our 3rd visit to Casa Velas and definitely won't be our last. This place is absolutely stunning. The grounds are well manicured with lots of pretty flowers & ponds. The smell in the lobby is heavenly. We have stayed in 3 different room categories & they have all been beautiful. The food is out of this world. We cannot say enough about the staff. Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Great holiday decision

From the moment we got there we were greeted with warm smiles, friendly staff, luxurious surroundings, and second to none service. Plenty of food options not to disappointment. Thank you to all and we hope to be back soon!!!!

Tropicana Hotel: Seven years in row...Must be good

This is one of the oldest hotels in PV. That means the best beach...they got first pick. They are up grading more and more every year. Staff is so friendly. Clean. Lunch is great. Never had dinner there. Best guacamole ever!!! Met so many beautiful people, hopefully new best friends from all over the world. Just got back and booking again for November.

Paradise Village Puerto Vallarta: Paradise Village resort

Paradise Village resort, Absolutely beautiful resort. Relaxing, great food, beautiful beach and friendly staff. Trip central made our vacation easy, with no worries. Price was a little high and fluctuated a lot before departure date. probably would not do all inclusive again, very expensive and really did not get any special service.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Would come time anytime

One of the best resort I have been too, the service was top notch. I was a little bit worried as I had read in other reviews that the staff seemed to pay more attention to people coming for convention, this was not the case at all. Food was pretty good, lots of options. We had no issues with noise or constructions. The pools are pretty crowded but we always found chairs. We mostly stayed on the beach, where for some reason not that many people went too. There was quite a few jelly fi [... read more]sh, which was unusual for March. The only down side I found was there isnt many activities others then beach and drinking. I like going for 2 weeks and it could get repetitive. There wasnt catamarant, kayak, golf, bikes, etc. For people that have never been to P.V. , very nice little town and I actually felt safe. Locals were very friendly and respectful, I have been to quite a few cities and PV is a must go.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Resort was fine but we would not have stayed there if we had known of the 200 disrespectful, loud and annoying students we had to share the hotel with. We should have been advised in advance!

Without the students a 3.5 star resort. Beach not too good, shallow with rocks, only went in once. Service was excellent, very courteous. Because of the students we had internet problems. Students crowded the bars and were banging on doors until early in the morning. Next time we'll stay at the Barcelona resort.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Very nice resort

We liked very mach but we wish you would have more fruit available other wise we love that, staff was a massing very friendly and was very clean we wood be back any time . This is our third time in this resort and we like the city and locations

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great Resort!

This was our second stay at Decameron Los Cocos. It is a very clean and well maintained resort. The food was exceptional with a great variety for even the pickiest of eaters. The staff are all very friendly and really go out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of. The resort caters to families so if you don't care for the sound of children a person would be better off in the adults only building providing you have mobility as there is no elevator but there is a lot of stairs. Friendly Fun Vallarta: FRIENDLY VALLARTA

The staff working at the resort are very friendly. We liked the heated pool and the hot tubs, they were kept very clean. You do have to reserve a chair before 7 am around the pool. The room was very clean and facing the ocean. The food was so so. Almost every day they had nice size shrimp for buffet. We had hamburger one day at the grill by the beach and it was cold and dry and the bun was dry. Never tried it again. The pizza was awesome with a thin crust. Tried the Ranchero Grill first  [... read more]time the beef was good the next time it was so tough could not cut it even. It would be nice to have some days nice steaks. All in all there was a variety to choice from. The resort is well located close to everything. One of the nicest hotel we have been to. Definitely will be back!!!!!

Crown Paradise Golden: Last trip to the Golden Crown never again

I've had better trips would be an understatement. The guest demographic has flipped to a locals resort. Some pool manners might be in order. Drinking like fish for 4+ hours and NEVER going to the Banos pretty much killed any chance the rest of the guests would ever get in again. I wont ever be back after many years at the resort.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean eating facilities, clean throughout lobby and washrooms. Room service good. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent food. Specialty restaurants excellent. Outdoor chairs somewhat limited. Too many chairs assigned to members which were mostly unused. Not happy with charges for WiFi.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Fabulous

I was impressed on how helpful the staff were. Our door man was fantastic and directed us to some fun places. The resort was clean and food awesome. I had an excellent time. I would definitely return again.

Samba Vallarta: Boutique resort family friendly

Small resort. Lots of areas to sit and relax with many alternative Options for sun and shade. Excellent for all ages, especially young families (the large but shallow kids pool and pirate ship is a huge​ hit) and it suits those who like a more quiet, friendly, easy-going vacation scene. Dedicated, super friendly staff who truly enjoy their job and are concerned with the happiness of every guest. Amenities top notch. Great access to water, Bikes, Boogie boards​ available at no extra cost [... read more]. Food not exotic but adequate with plenty of options, fresh and something for every taste. We especially loved the custom prepared Smoothie Bar and plenty of varied fruits. Not far from Bucerius by bike or on foot. Good restaurants. Or take a bus, reasonable, to downtown Puerto Vallarta. Magnificent sunsets top off your day--ever day! If you don't particularly like the big resorts where you need a ride to the restaurant, lobby and main area----well Samba Vallarta is the place for you!!!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Relaxation at its finest:)

Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean. Staff friendly and large enough to give us a variety for the 9 night stay. Highly recommend paying extra for the Temazcal.....sweat lodge with Mayan Shamans......an amazing healing experience. Food was great. Resort offers quiet Adult only options as well as more lively music options good for the whole family. Something for everyone here. U won't go wrong on this one.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Impeccable Service-Lovely Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Royal Suites Punta de Mita. The Customer service from the staff at this resort was Top quality. The moment we walked through the door we were greeted with friendly smiles and a quick check in. The Lobby bar was perfect to get refreshment while settling in. My husband needed distilled water for His C PAP machine and the staff was on it immediately. They couldn't find any right away so Dahlia offered to bring some on her way into work in the morning, she came  [... read more]through first thing the next morning. He also needed an extension cord which was brought right away. Our room was beautiful; it definitely felt like a royal suite. It was VERY clean and well kept. The Jacuzzi didn't work but that was not a big deal for us. After being impressed with our room we headed down to the Punta Mita Royal restaurant where we were served immediately. The food was very good; my husband (usually fussy) was content. We also ate at the Mexican Restaurant, BBQ on the Beach, Portofino and the buffet. We ate breakfast and lunch at the Royal as they served us on the beach and around the pool yummy snacks with great service, big Thank you to those Servers/Bartenders around the pool and beach. The Beach on The Royal Suites side was small a little rocky but you can walk over to the Palladium side and the beach was near perfect. Even did some snorkeling over there and saw some great sea life. I didn't mind the rockiness of the royal side either as I look to discover the sea life caught in the tide pools when the tide was low. You get the best of both worlds. The pool was clean and warm, and the grounds were well trimmed, the walk ways were covered so if you feel like you’ve had too much sun you can escape it as you walk through the resort. The Spa was world class, with hydro-massage therapy pools that we could use any time, we paid extra to get a massage .There was a Mini Zoo (literally) on the Palladium side, a fun addition, as well as lots of entertainment. My kids would have a blast!! In fact we are considering taking them on our next visit! Of course if you want to escape back to quiet, just zip back to the Royal suites side. The absolute highlight of this resort was how they helped us celebrate our 10 year anniversary. None of which we paid extra for. There was a nice anniversary sign on the door, we had the most perfect table for dinner that evening, situated to see the sunset and decorated romantically with candle light. The Sous Chef even came out to wish us a happy anniversary. Then later after dinner Victor found us and said he had a big surprise for us. He walked in to the kitchen and came out with a CAKE! We were floored by their thoughtfulness. We would absolutely visit this resort again
