Riu Negril: Certainly not a 5 star !

Hello, here is our review of the Riu Negrilstaying there March 3 until the 11, 2019 Out of all 11 RIU Resorts we have stayed at , this one would be the worst. The food is ok at the buffets, however the food is certainly not hot. the italian is the best selection for food that is served hot Dining outdoors in the am is like sitting in a bird santuary, constantly being bombarded with black birds looking for food There were cochroaches outside the Italian restaurant one night The pool with  [... read more]the swim up bar was filthy, one day i saw 2 used condoms floating tin the pool water. The pool between building 2 and 3, half the sun screens were missing off the frame work there was broken glass in several places, one lady cut open her foot 2 boys were stung by jelly fish on the ocean /beach edge The staff will go above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay. the rooms are clean The pools need some work Management is never seen and as a RIU member, there are no perks here at the resort like others The RIU Palace up the beach would be a far better choice and well worth the extra dollars o stay there as it is very clean, well maintained and operated Stay away from the catarmaran trip from RIU, Scuba Caribe staff totally untrained for emergency first aid, as we witnessed, music is fuckin nigger this fucking nigger that, every song The best RIU we have ever stayed in was the RIU Palace Costa Rica We are not hard people to please but we are very honest in our reviews

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Excellent Service

This is our second trip to the Iberostar Grand. We just love this resort. The beach is beautiful, the water is clear and you can see the little fish and marine life around you. One day we saw a star fish about 20 feet from the shore line. I can't say enough about the food, the buffet is just as good as the a la carte restaurants, the best of the best. The rooms on the ground level are a little tired and should be updated. The bed is super comfortable. We like Red Strip beer but it was nice to have the option of Bud Light as well as other brands to choose from. The service is excellent however tipping becomes stressful at times. Many of the guests we met and chatted with seemed to be stressed out about how much to tip and when to tip. I wish they had a no tipping policy like Sandals however the service is way better than Sandals. We've been to many different hotels chains like Couples, Sandals, Barcelo and Melia and the Iberostar Grand is definitely a step up. If you decide to take advantage of the 2 complimentary rounds of golf at White Witch and Cinnamon Hill, keep in mind that a cart rental is mandatory at $40 per person and the caddy tipping fee is minimum $25 per person. The golf clubs rental is $55. If you enjoy golfing, it is well worth the cost. Transportation, drinks and snacks are also complimentary.

Breathless Montego Bay: Amazing resort

Cleanest resort I have been to, food was amazing, staff were beyond friendly and did everything they could to accommodate you, grounds were beautiful..beaches also beautiful, rooms very modern and clean.. would definitely go again.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Worst resort I’ve ever been to

The hotel overall is less than a 3.5 star. The service from front desk, housekeeping and bar are horrible. The entire management team needs to be re-evaluated and the staff need more training to resolve issues.

Riu Ocho Rios: Great Resort

The highlight of this resort was being able to go snorkelling right in front of the hotel. Spectacular. I can not wait to see what this resort looks like once the renovations are complete in the fall.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Fabulous time in Jamaïca

We've just returned from an absolutely perfect vacation at the beautiful Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. We were impressed with how beautiful this all inclusive resort actually is. Accommodations were very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and courteous. The buffets and à la carte restaurants did not disappoint. We chose a Palladium resort because they cater to food allergies (peanuts and chick peas, in our case). When checking in, they gave us cards to show the waiters. After we'd  [... read more]be seated, the chef would take the time to meet with us and let us know what was safe or not on his menu. He would also make sure that the meal would be prepared without risk of cross contamination. They made everything seem easy. Highly recommended!

Sandals Negril: Sandals Negril -extremely dissappointing

First lets just say I had expectations having been married at Sandals Negril Resort 25 years ago, and having visited 3 other Sandals resorts early on in our marriage. This year it is our 25th year anniversary year and as such my husband and I thought it would be special to return to the resort as oppose to explore other vacation destinations. The focus is clearly on Butler rooms which the balcony rooms seem to be reserved for. Our room was an incredible disappointment. No outdoor space at all, and the window in the room had a corridor exposure. It is more like a well appointed motel room. No patio, no balcony, just a corridor with guests walking right in front of your window requiring the shutters to be closed when occupied. Our first night was spent in a room that didn't even have a view of the exterior. The window opened to a covered and walled exterior corridor with 2 elevators, housekeeping closets and ice machine, no possible line of sight to sky or garden or outside space at all. In fact I couldn't tell if it was daylight or night since the hall was brightly illuminated with artificial light day and night it was so contained a space. The room in particular was 3105, but 2105 is identically situated. If you get either of those rooms - REFUSE it immediately. The next day they moved us to an adjacent room from which at least one could see sky and a piece of garden , but did not measure up to what SANDALS should be providing. Its a shame. It wouldn't have broken the bank to have provided even a small seating area outside the room to have morning coffee, read a book or even to put your sandy shoes on from. I even had to ask for a towel rack for wet bathing suits to be place outside my door. For the level of supposed luxury you pay for, the room didn't even measure up to a 3 star resort experience. I was also rather disappointed in Sandals attitude. The resort was well aware that we were a returning couple having actually been married at that very resort 25 years ago. I wasn't looking for any sort of free bonus inclusions, but thought it was bad form to not have even left a little note in the room welcoming us back. Even when we were approached for feedback on our stay by the customer service department, they were speechless, and then still did absolutely nothing. I shouldn't say nothing, they did try to SELL us spa services. Apparently it makes no difference if you are married on site or elsewhere in the world. So be it. Lesson learned. The reality is if you don't pay to renew your vows, travel on the specific day of ceremony which was not possible in our case, or purchase extra services like romance packages or butlers, you don't matter at all. Its pretty clear that Sandals has a two tier system now. Very unfortunate. We won't be returning to a Sandals .

Melia Braco Village: Fantastic resort !!!!

This was our third time visiting this resort. A fantastic gem !! The staff and service are amazing. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at home . We will continue to return again and again.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Needs better food and service

Very nice did time first time was very very bad pool bar service was good as always Michael number one bartender thank buddy better desk staff did also but they have to stop trying to win every convention with the guest

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Truly a great Jamaican experience!

The resort was beautiful and immaculately kept. Cleanliness was beyond reproach. The staff were all warm, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food was great. Pool was too. Loved the beach and water. Did not realize it was 2nd largest resort on the island Amazing how they manage so many people so seamlessly. My preference is a smaller, quieter, adult only resort - this resort has 2 sections, one adult only and one family - so it was quite noisy, but that is just a preference, not a complaint. Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Excellent Resort

The hotel is fantastic after the reno's. Staff are wonderful. Grounds kept very clean Food quality has slipped a little since last year. Not as much selection but tastes very good. I don't feel the management treats the staff as well as they should

Riu Palace Jamaica: Riu Palace Jamaica

This resort is the most friendly & clean I have ever stayed at..Hotel staff very accomodating- I broke soap dispenser they sent maintenance right up to fix Grounds very beautiful & well maintained.Buffet could hAve a little more variety.Restaurants have a nice choice to choose from although I would like to see an authentic Italian restaurant. Beach is small but never have to wait for chairs.I would recommend Riu Palace to friends & family.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Fun resort for adults

Everything was great except for the a la carts. The only one that was really good was the Mediterranean. Service was a little slow when receiving coffee and drinks at the buffets and a la carts. Other than that the people were great and a fun stay over all.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Don’t waste your money

This resort is divided into two areas ..? Grand and luxury ... if you are luxury you can roam anywhere.. otherwise be prepared to be asked to move on.. our room was on the edge of these two areas.. with a security guard at the entrance .. so not only did they harass you if you stepped foot to the right instead of to the left they also held their morning conversations in groups of four or five outside our door not fair ... our hallway was not vacuumed once in 10 days

Riu Ocho Rios: Great resort

Overall great time. Beds could be better. Hard as rocks and seem very dated. Would go back for sure! Beach was awesome. No trouble with a 3 year old. Al la carte restaurants do not need reservations. Staff very friendly. Great vibe.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: So much fun!

The grounds at this resort are immaculate and people are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We met many new friends and took part in all of the activities that the resort had to offer including the fitness classes, trivia games, dance contests and nightly entertainment. Would definitely go back again. Thank you Trip Central-Jen Wilson in particular for your excellent recommendations.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fabulous Resort

We were travelling with my son, his wife, 3year old daughter and 6 month old son. From the moment we arrived we had great service! The resort was very clean. Staff were wonderful. Great selection of food for all appetites! Our granddaughter spent an hour daily in kids club and enjoyed it! We lived at the ocean beach! Beach restaurant was great for lunch! Loved the jerk chicken! Only complaint would be the other guests who would save their chairs by pool and not be at them for hours. This som [... read more]e how has to be monitored. We will return!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort

The rooms and grounds are clean and well kept, the food is some of the best I have had and the people can’t get any friendlier, beaches are amazing and weather was hot, lots of security all over resort is a bonus !

Sandals Dunn's River: Once we were able to switch from the main building to the Emerald Laui

Once we were able to switch our room from the main building to the Emerald Laui ..we were happy. It is the garden view and it is lush green and feels like you are in Jamaica and not tge US. As far as food ..the Carraibean food is the best thing to rat there. The staff were friendly and helpful but seemed stressed due to the takeover that occured while we stayed there. The beach was clean and beautiful but not enough space to walk around. Yet we totally enjoyed the ocean. As far as the ambiance.. [... read more]it could be better..better music, less shouting in microphones and some relaxing entertainment. Overall for the price of this resort it was good.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great vacation

Spacious with lots of place to walk around and find a quiet spot or an activity. Good beach but rocky in places. Great snorkeling right there. Very good food and lots of variety. Start the day with 7:30 exercise or yoga with Owen Ellis. He’s fantastic and very grounded to put a positive spin on the day. Great and relaxing time there.
