Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Needs some TLC

First, the good things… the food was quite good , especially in The Grill a la carte restaurant. The staff were amazing - helpful and lovely. Now for the not so good. The rooms were in rough shape. We could only use the wand in the shower (which had broken off the wall), doors fell off their hinges when we opened them and the room was just generally in rough shape. The internet was almost nonexistent which made it difficult to make a reservation at the restaurants as it had to be done onlin [... read more]e. Everyday there were people lined up at the concierge desk trying to make restaurant reservations. They need to make a lot of improvements at this resort. I would not recommend it nor would I go back.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort!!!

We were so pleased with our stay at the Palmar! We stayed in the adults only building, in a swim up suite. So awesome, daily exercise consisted of a pool trip to the swim up bar. Food was the highlight of our holiday. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!. The resort staff were the nicest people ever! Can't wait to come back!

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Wordy to Experience

The resort grounds are well maintained, the beach is beautiful and clean, the rooms are O.K- daly cleaned but water supp in the bathroom and shower needs improvement. Eexcellent staff services in restaurants and on the grounds. Activity and entertainment acceptable but need to be better promoted.

Canto Del Sol: Resort is old but clean

This resort is old but fairly clean if your looking to go somewhere to be pampered and are used to 4 star or better don’t go there the resort buffet is very poorly set up but you can find things to eat if your patient and early for dinner or lunch the staff were very good but they are under staffed for the amount of people that are there the el le carts were okay but not very consistent with the quality of food except the Italian which was good both times surf and turf was amazing first time but [... read more] disappointing the next two times we prob won’t visit this place again but the location is great if you wanna explore puerto Vallarta

Grand Oasis Riviera: We had a great time

The location was perfect. Superior beach front couldn’t have been a lovelier spot. The room however was very rough. It’s better than 2.5 but 3 might be pushing it. Old, very moldy smell, sliding doors didn’t work, sink leaked.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Most luxurious family resort

The food, the location, the size, the people it was all amazing. We had the best week. Also the reviews we had read didn't praise the kids club enough. Hourly activities, my child didn't want to leave and went every single day! The shows are great and the resort is laid out in a way that doesn’t feel cramped. It’s quiet and so spa like you would never think it was a resort that caters to families!

Riu Lupita: Couldnt ask for a more attentive resort

Once again the Lupita has exceeded my expectations. I thought this was a wonderful resort the first time I was here, they have succeeded in surpassing that expectation. The staff are amazing. Check in, bar staff, buffet staff entertainment staff, cleaning staff all work very hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. I would not hesitate to come back. Whether alone, as a couple or a family, the Riu Lupita is the place to go.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: A Tired Resort

The Decameron is a great place to stay thanks to their wonderful staff. The employees are the best asset the hotel has, as they are all so kind and friendly. The pool is beautiful. There's also a huge, miles-long sandy beach that you can walk on. The only downfall is that the food is mediocre at best. The serving trays are constantly empty and they don't always have plates available. They regularly ran out of things like bread, milk, bacon, eggs, and the line up at the omelet station blocked acc [... read more]ess to the bacon and eggs. The jam and butter were not with the bread and buns and was frequently not available. The cleaning staff were thorough and left our room clean but often times were not able to show up until 5pm which was very inconvenient. The liquor available was lower quality and there was only one choice of beer that was not very good. This was our second time at the Decameron and we were disappointed. We love Cabo and will be back but will definitely choose a different resort.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Barcelo Maya Riviera 5 STARS without a doubt

When we were dropped off (first) in the shuttle from the airport, the people staying at different resorts audibly gasped at the site of our lobby as it is as grandiose as something out of a James Bond movie. Barcelo Maya Riviera (18+ only) has excellent service, food, and amenities. I don't have a problem with kids, but we definitely felt the difference - not having kids running by the pool or screaming in the lobby. Our room had a swim-up pool which was fun but any room would have been f [... read more]ine. Buffet was good and the other restaurants were top notch. 24/7 room service came in handy. Quite a hike from the airport and to Chichen Itza but worth being patient. If this isn't a 5-star, they don't exist.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Beautiful Resort

The rooms were very nice and the food amazing. The grounds were amazing and kept very clean. The workers were friendly and work very hard. Loved the pools and the different activities that were offered including the foam party.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort except for the CAPTIVE DOLPHINS

The hotel was lovely And the beach front was fantastic! The restaurants were also very delicious with lovely staff! There are many pools to choose from and lots of activities. I was absolutely shocked to see the tiny water enclosure that the dolphins were in. WHY IS THIS EVEN HERE AT BARCELLO? I have since found out that PLATA THE DOLPHON jumped onto the concrete deck and DIED while performing in a show in February 2025. ? PLEASE TAKE AWAY THE DOLPHIN AREA?

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: great resort

you have a beautiful resort there, but the thing is there is too many steps going up into something or going down into something like by the martini bar that step that goes up there is very dangerous. I seen so many people fall there and I was one of them, unfortunately and I have the huge bruises to prove it. My hip is so sore. I would like to say I wouldn’t recommend it to seniors, but I seen younger people falling as well. Very dangerous even your staff said it was dangerous.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Beautiful Resort

A very large property and having shuttle carts was necessary and welcomed. Plenty of water areas and food options. The hotel staff were very friendly and polite. They were always eager to help in any way. The most negative thing was our room. The A/C was broken. Several attempts were have to fix it. The last night was the only cool night. The patio door was extremely hard to open and l couldn’t use the nice tub because the plug was not working. The traffic noise was also an annoyance. If it wasn’t for the excellent concise staff we wouldn’t have had a good experience. We actually joined the Ultimate Club. We enjoyed all that the hotel had to offer except our room !!! Also Sunwing overbooked seats and l had to pay for the lady two seats.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Great Resort

PH is a very large resort with beautiful manicured grounds, nice spacious rooms, wonderful staff and lots of good restaurants and amenities. We found the PH app was hit and miss with trying to book restaurants and would like to see that be more user friendly as it was very frustrating. The entertainment in the evenings were OK and we were disappointed at the choices and the lack of seating for everyone wanting to see them. Having to get up early to get pool lounges was very frustrating and seeing many of them with towels on them and never seeing people using them was also very frustrating. Overall, we enjoyed our week at this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Nice Resort But...

The resort was beautiful, there were lots of different areas to explore. The food and drinks were generally of a high standard, we really enjoyed the food trucks dotted around the resort, the sports bar was fab and the staff were great. The beach was long, although some days there was a little seaweed it wasn't anything to keep us out of the water. There weren't any umbrellas on the beach, however, the section opposite the family areas did have shade from the palm trees. Unfortunately this [... read more] was not the case at the adults only beach, the only shade was from a small cluster of palm trees. The Royalton Splash next door had an umbrella for every 2 loungers, a much better set up. We enjoyed the infinity pools as generally they were quieter and more relaxing, but again there was a lack of umbrellas. We stayed at the Hideaway, adults only section of the resort and this is where the 'BUT' comes in. There were huge groups of people that dominated the whole area, they acted as if this was there own private resort. A group of 83 Americans were there for a wedding one of which had a swimup room. Our friends had a swimup room on the same block and sadly their experience was ruined by the Americans using their balconies and partying in front of their room. The Hideaway manager did eventually find them new rooms, however, the people moving into the original rooms had to deal with the same disruption. We were disappointed that management did not address this with the large group especially due to the unsanitary condition of the pool with food floating, spilled drinks etc. I would possibly stay here again if we stayed in Diamond Club but that wasn't adults only.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Games Played at Check-In

When booking privilege honeymoon suite as a couple you would not expect to be assigned a room in the family section! Check-in took 90 minutes as we were not about to spend 10 days with families. We finally were assigned the room we booked and paid for. Then we were assigned a butler that was useless. Couldn’t book us in any restaurant unless it was 6 or 9pm, couldn’t book a bali bed, couldn’t give us a bottle of the privilege wine that was to be in our room. We got into all restaurants for the rest of our stay at 7 or 7:30, our friends received a bali bed for the week and I finally got the wine I paid for. The difference between terrible service and wonderful service is all in the butler. It was a terrible start to our 10 day vacation but then it turned around and ended up nicely. The beach had a lot of seaweed but they cleaned it up well each day. However the beach loungers were in very bad condition, they looked old and saggy. The El Beso pool was very clean, but very crowded. The loungers quite comfortable. Jose and Alexander were very diligent in keeping everyone happy with their towels and water. And the best pool server, Ricardo! He was very happy and excellent at what he does. Having said that, he is the only server around this pool…he was run off his feet!Restaurants were the big disappointment for us. Food was just ok, mostly just lukewarm at all restaurants. Service for the most part was slow. But, we realized that the restaurants are severely understaffed. I think that would be the big thing with this resort. Understaffing which seems to be why they can only seat half the tables. The buffet, in my opinion, was one of the worst Ive seen at an all inclusive for a long time. Definitely cater to kids. Where were all the vegetables? It seemed to be all burgers, hot dogs, pizza, fries and various pastas. On a positive note, this resort is clean, beautifully landscaped and well maintained but would we go back? No!

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Exceeded All Of Our Expectations

What a fantastic resort for families! So many activities, staff is so polite and accommodating. Food & Entertainment was on point! Highly recommend the swim-out rooms to everyone, definitely worth the upgrade.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Cleanest I have ever stayed in!

The food was great in all the restaurants with enough selection to satisfy the pickiest eater. The rooms were amazingly large and comfortable. The staff unbelievably friendly and helpful. This is the second time I stayed at this resort and still not disappointed with anything. The staff appear to be constantly cleaning the public bathrooms and they did an awesome job cleaning the rooms. I am hoping to return a third time next year!

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great resort!

Overall great place. Great staff, great food and drinks. Areas of improvement could be the beach sand which is hard and rocky. Pillows in rooms were terrible. Musty smell in our room. Decorative ropes hanging in rooms could be eliminated.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Never disappoints

Barceló hotels are so well designed for every guests needs. Amazing service, beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations. We love this resort for its variety of restaurants and amenities, gym spa ball courts and tons of things for kids and adults of all ages to stay busy. Nice they don’t put the small water park way back of the resort like so many other big resorts. The entire resort is on the waterfront with a beautiful view and path to walk to the other Barcelo resorts. If you like to get out on the water and experience Hobie cat sailing and no experience, friendly staff will take you out for free. Just book at 9:00 day before. Beautiful beaches, bring a mask and snorkel some water shoes and snorkel right off your own private beach. Amazing if you are an early riser to encounter Sea Turtles right at the waterfront. There are magical Cenote parks close by to explore and much more. It’s worth the extra time to get to the resort. Only an hour from Cancun but the beach and hotel is with it. 2nd time stay. Going back this December.this year.
