Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great time at Ocean Casa del mar !!!

The hotel was new and very well kept. Grounds were clean and staff friendly. Food was amazing and had a large choice of sea food which is hard to find in Cuba. The beach had two parts. One with rocks and the other one without rocks. We did not mind the rocks as it provided for a great snorkeling experience with TON of fish.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: New

Being new the buildings are beautiful and clean . All the trees are newly planted and in a few years the grounds will be beautiful as well. Lots to eat at buffet of course ( repetitive, as usual) Pools were large with swim up bars. Nice water slides for the smaller kids and entertainment staff were always fun . A strong 4 star

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Lovely small resort

Resort was kept very neat and tidy, everything clean. Everyone we encountered was very polite, friendly, and helpful. Food was far better than expected and experienced before in Cuba. Would definitely NOT book privileged class as the extra charge not worth what you get. We had no problem getting into the restaurants. Entertainment in evening would be the only low rating.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Ocean Riviera Paradise- 5 star all the way

Our trip to Ocean Riviera Paradise, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was fabulous. Before we left home I had read mixed reviews of this resort, and was a little nervous, but I would go back tomorrow. You can always expect a few bumps, with a new resort, but to my opinion we had very few. Upon arrival we had a warm greeting from staff, at check-in. We where upgraded to the Eden Suites, from the El Beso. Our suite was a ground floor, rm.4161. In the bathroom was a whirlpool tub,a 2 person rain shower,and hand held shower, and double sink vanity. Sleeping area had a king bed, while the living area had a leather couch, and 2 leather arm chairs. On our patio was a hot tub, and two arm chairs, along with a double tanning bed, in front of the patio. We where 2 min. from the beach. The food in the buffets, was very good, with a wide variety to choose from. Whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We ate in all the Al acarte restaurants, which where walk up(no reservation). The Steak House was great, we done it twice, Mexican was also good, Route 66 we also done twice. The Italian was good, and the Seafood we enjoyed. We also enjoyed going to Mikes coffee shop after the shows, to have a coffee and piece of dessert. The entertainment was good, depending on your liking. Some shows we enjoyed, and some were not for us. The bowling alley was pretty neat. It had 5 lane's, I believe, of 10 pin. The shuttles where handy if you needed them, which run front to back, every 15 min.,all day long. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Don't believe half of what you read, just go with an open mind, and enjoy.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Quite adequate resort, lots of families, building 3 pretty central to amenities and the beach

Hotel overall very clean, food pretty good. The beach seems to be the only one in the immediate area suffering major damage due to erosion and humungous sand bags (looking like beached whales) have been created to form a breakwater now. Therefore the beach is not very wide, and there is a steep grade in the sand to get down to the edge of the water. Lots of flat walking, but a shuttle goes back and forth from beach to reception constantly. The three story buildings are walk-up, no elevators.  [... read more]A nice variety of ala carte restaurants, but no reservations allowed except in the Japanese and then you have to line up to reserve for one of three sittings on the very day, not beforehand. The shower has those half-doors which cause water to run all over the place, even once you have learned to set the shower head to the best position. I left this complaint with the hotel, but doubt that will change. I did not see a bug at this place and we were there the end of February. Also, there did not seem to be many birds. Nice gardens. Rooms large. Overall very nice.

Playa Vista Azul: Fabulous Resort

Fabulous resort.The staff works dillengcy to ensure guests satisfaction. The grounds and buildings are well maintained.The entertainment at night includes musicians that are extremely talented.Easy to access.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort!

Our vacation was great. Resort staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and plenty large for the amount of time you spent in them. Beach was beautiful, a bit weedy on windy days. Food for the most part was good, nothing really to complain about, but nothing also to really rave about. If you've never been there, beware of the friendly "Reps" in the resort lobby. Ultimately they sit you down and try to talk you into time share time, if you're clear that you aren't interested they gladly leave you [... read more] alone. (These types are also at the Mexican airport). My advice is to deal only with your own travel reps at the resort (ie: mine were the Air Canada reps). All this being said, it's a great resort to go and spend some fun in the sun, and its only 20 minutes from the airport!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Resort

Resort is very lovely, on the smaller side. The a la carte restaurants were all good, buffet good too. Heard food in Cuba would be horrible, but it wasn't. Not a lot of variety, and some repetition, but always something to eat. Beach was very nice, always chairs available. Trouble getting spot by the pool only on day of arrival. Walking along the beach one day I got bitten by sand fleas or something, so spray yourself with repellent before you walk. My husband didn't get bitten at all. Took day trip to Havana which was good, but make it clear what you want to see, and just find a lunch place on your own...don't let them steer you to their restaurant pick...wasn't great and too expensive.

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful resort

We thought the Ocean Vista Azul in Veradero was beautiful....clean....well kept and very nicely laid out. Not too large with two beautiful beaches. Would definitly recommend it. The staff were warm and hospitable

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very Clean Resort

This hotel is good if you just want to go and relax. You are 1.5hours from the airport so that makes for a long trip. The food Is ok. But not great. However, the staff are excellent. Wasn't much to do and I enjoy doing lots of things. The other point is that it's very clean. Very happy with room.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort

The resort is very new and it was gorgeous. It wasn't super busy so we were able to choose where we wanted to sit at the pool, beach, dinner, etc. The beach was the most beautiful beach I've ever been to. The food was mediocre but travelling to Cuba that was an expectation. There was quite a language barrier which was difficult at times but the staff was clearly trying to accommodate as best they could. Every resort I've ever been to the disco has been right on the resort and included in the "all inclusive" part, so I would not recommend going to that. Other then that, overall, it was a great experience.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: 3 star resort with Management issues - Stay somewhere else

The Ocean Riviera Paradise is not what is advertised in the brochure. Check-in took until 7pm because the managers did not want us to know that they placed us in a construction zone that at 8 am was a mix of buzz saws and hammering until the evening. They wanted us to pay extra to have a room away from the noise and the smells of varnish and paint. The beach and pools were good. Not as much activity as at other resorts. Seems very understaffed and there are long lines for everything (ev [... read more]en to get into an empty buffet)The showers flood the bathrooms so if you go, plug the shower with towels or you will walking in an inch of water. Don't be fooled by the "newness". This resort will age rapidly and unless they hire more staff will not improve at all. We stayed in the Daisy Section - if you are thinking of booking there - don't - especially if the construction is not complete. If you are already booked there try to switch it.

Playa Vista Azul: Ocean Vista Azul Veradero

Prior to visiting the resort, I was very wary of its quality due to the reviews that I read online. When I arrived I was very pleasantly surprised. The resort is extremely modern, clean, and well kept. I could tell that it was much nicer than some of the neighbouring resorts that have peeling paint, and are quite unattractive on the exterior at least. I would stay at this resort again. Yes, there are some questionable dishes - but I think that this is standard across Cuba. Although there is not a large range of healthy options there is a consistent omelette bar in the mornings, sandwich supplies in the afternoons, and freshly grilled chicken in the evenings. The food was not an issue for me, and no one in my party of seven felt ill from the food. My criticisms of the resort include inconsistent event services and an unclear demographic. I attended this resort with my parents, and 5 of my friends from high school. My friends and I are all in second year university now, and we felt like we were the youngest people on the resort for the entire week. There were not many young children, or seniors. It seemed like most people were from the ages of 30-50 and were couples. However, it was not an overly romantic resort and I didn't feel like I was surrounded by honeymooners. The resorts events were poorly communicated and planned. Each employee in different locations on the resort seemed to have a different idea of where events such as yoga were occurring, only for me to discover after checking all suggested locations that it wasn't happening at all. My mother attempted to attend aqua aerobics multiple times, only for it not to occur. Throughout the week we learned that activities are loosely organized on the beach, and don't have much structure. The resort did have nightly dance shows which were good, and always occurred. Additionally, after our first night on the resort they said that they "banned disco's" and that there would no longer be any music playing in the 24hr beach bar facility in the evenings. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to people who are looking for a safe, clean, and beautiful place to stay. If you are looking for a social environment, I would not recommend this resort - but it is a great place to relax.

We were made to wait 4 hours for our rooms. The building we were in, Daisy, is only half finished and the construction saws, tile saws , hammering and pounding started at 8:00 AM and ended at 6:00 PM or later. This isn't a case of construction in a nearby building, this is construction in the same building, separated from all our rooms by 10 feet. The noise was relentless and the smell of paint and plaster was pervasive and constant. Several evenings we had to seek refuge on balconies to escape the noxious odors. I have numerous videos and pictures . My adult children were constantly being woken up each morning as construction resumed. This isn't a matter of complaining of a little inconvenience. This resort is not ready for guests. It is a disgrace that the management was not sensitive to our problem. We pleaded with all levels of management and guest services at this hotel to move us anywhere and they refused. We tried you airtransat rep, Mauricio Jimenez, and he told us that the management is difficult and unlikely to help us. He also said he would file a report. Air Transat contacted a colleague of mine a week before they came to this resort in January and suggested to them to that they might want to change plans because of the construction. Which they did. I did not know they were booked into the same hotel. I have booked air transat hilidays for decades. Why were we not afforded the same courtesy ? I have appended 3 photos below but it is the videos which also include the construction noise which makes the case for this hotel's abuse of some guests. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Good start

Beautiful resort, but still needs alot of work on the details. The rooms were clean, but included a total of 3 small drawers for clothing. Our room also did not have a shower, only a shower handle on the tub, with no curtain. Available wifi at this resort should be considered a false statement, i was not able to connect at all during our stay. The food was below averaged for Cuba. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Fantastic resort - Wonderful Memories created

An truly amazing vacation experience !! - The hotel is a fairly new resort and we arrived anticipating a few things may still need last minute refinement. While there were few minor and I mean minor issues nothing that spoiled our vacation. Resort staff went out of the way to make us feel comfortable, always friendly,very courteous and went that extra step to make us feel special. The casino wasn't yet open, (opening soon) but this didn't bother us there was so much more to do. The bowling alley was a nice touch and we made friends with the manager there who again made our bowling experiences fun. Entertainment staff were first class, daily activities poolside and the beach were fun to take part in and we experienced our first pool foam arty - great fun and with laughs. Evening entertainment shows with venues within the large seated indoor Theater and outside Plaza were top rate with professional entertainers, musicians, acrobatics, dancers, vocal artists to name but a few of the many we enjoyed. Outdoor pools were clean, well maintained and an abundance fresh clean towels always available. The beach was amazing, soft white sand and many walks were enjoyed along its shore length. Dining, without doubt an important part of any vacation - 'amazing' is all I can say. The many a la carte restaurants offered varied and quality cuisine. The Blue Moon for romantic dinning was our favorite with the Italian and steak house restaurants close runners up. It was evident that the chef's at each location took great pride in what offered and how it was presented. Mike's coffee shop and the ice cream parlor were side by side and once again much enjoyed by us. Dinning at the Ocean Riviera was definitely 'TOP SHELF ' Trolley transportation through the resort was constantly running and though not far to walk from beach to lobby it was very welcome on occasions. One part of the resort we didn't find until our last day was the indoor pool / hot tub area located within the spa facility .. do check it out, it looked relaxing and fun. We will next time - for us there will definitely be a next time and without reservation we would comfortably recommend this resort to anyone . .... do go and enjoy, we did very much so !

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: This was our 2nd visit to this resort. Love it!

Love that the resort is so close to the airport. Awesome resort, rooms clean. Staff were always very friendly. Beautiful pool area. Could choose more active vs. quiet surroundings. Could walk for miles on the beautiful beach. Continually working to keep weeds cleaned up. Ocean swimming great. Food was wonderful. No complaints all week from a group of 9!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice resort but absoutely not a 5-star as advertised.

The hotel building is nice and new , the pool is beautiful , but the beach is too far from the building and the beach is too small and there is no walkway to the beach. The room was nice, but the floors were not properly cleaned.There was no hot water for 2 days and water was pooling in the water (water was sloping towards the room instead of towards the drain). The food was also limited in choices and was not kept warm, even when we showed up early for each meal. Just be aware that this is [... read more] a long ride from the airport, so just be prepared and will be a LOT longer during rush hour traffic.

Playa Vista Azul: It's an awesome resort

I would recommend this resort to anyone. Had a great time Food was awesome. Service was great.entertainment was pretty good.rooms were great. Yes I would recommend this resort to anyone. No bugs bitting

Ocean Maya Royale: Ocean Maya Royale

OMG!!! by far the best trip ever!! We've been to Cancun several times & thought we'd try the Mayan for a change. We were not disappointed to say the least. Our welcoming concierge, Cesare, was very helpful & ever so friendly which made us feel comfortable immediately in our new surroundings. From the helpful, friendly hotel staff, the modern, clean room with a great view, the delicious buffets & Italian restaurant meals, the endless & tireless entertainment people who kept us amused with their  [... read more]parties, music, movies, magic shows, as well as the amazing Mexican & Mayan traditional nights, the awesome bartenders & spanish coffees...wow!! oh, and the weather for our 10 day vacation was the icing to this amazing, amazing trip to OMR!!
