Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing week

We had a great week at Brisas Guardalavaca. The food was very good, staff was great, the grounds were very clean. The girls who are 3 years old got treated like princess and enjoyed every moment. We recommend this resort to families.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Lovely hotels

If i have a chance ,i will come here again to enjoy the beach and the weather . Such a gentle staff and great hotels . Food is not bad ,but they need to change every week . Quiet and beautiful place to visit and enjoy

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good Resort

Good hotel with a lot of locals. A few bars, one open 24 hours, some staff are great others not so much. Not a lot of staff trying to get any sports going or anything like that, there was a couple things in the pool, but no volleyball in the water or anything like that. There was a bubble party in the pool so that was fun. All in all, I had a good time.

Playa Costa Verde: Above Expectations

Did lots of research & have been to many parts of Cuba. We booked at an excellent price & fully expected a good vacation. It did surprise us a bit by not only meeting those expectations, but surpassing them. This place has a huge repeat clientele, & they return for a reason. If you've traveled in Cuba before, & don't expect a 4-5 star for a 3 star price, I say do your research & then decide for yourself. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort and excellent service!

Rooms were clean and spacious, beautiful beach and plenty of chairs. Food was very good, excellent service overall! You can buy card to use internet. Connection was pretty good. Entertainment was very good.

Playa Pesquero: Great place

Love it all beach pool food. Greatest staff always friendly service. We will go back. Thanks to all the servers gardeners maids and management for a great holiday and were looking forward to see you soon

Playa Costa Verde: Nice Resort

Although the resort is older the rooms are nice and the people are great, The food was good and lots of hot water. The beach was nice, the snorkling was a bit cloudy the first few days. The rooms were very clean.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great hotel

We have been to Cuba 18 times and this was our 10th trip to Luna mares because we were most satisfied with it. The grounds are well kept and scenic. Entertainment is excellent. It has one of the best beaches with lots of shade trees and umbrellas. The rooms are dated but clean. The maids, waiters and all employees are very friendly and helpful when needed.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Brisas gets better and better!

This was my second visit to Brisas, was so happy to go back, and will again! The resort is very well maintained and always clean. Having the “boardwalk” right along the edge of the beach makes for very enjoyable strolls when going between the villas and main hotel or to a la carte restaurants. The staff are all very friendly and work so hard. We stayed in the villa section, which is quieter if you want to be away from the “action” of the main pool or lobby. The beach is amazing, we did a [... read more] hobie cat ride, and toured the waters in a pedal boat. The best new addition is the lobby bar upstairs which totally transformed the space to be more warm and inviting! We will definitely return again to Brisas!!

Awesome resort and even better people. Made lots of great new friends from afar and friends for life with people who work at the resort. Always clean and never any issues with service, food, rooms ECT..

Playa Pesquero: Good resort

Hotel is clean. Very friendly staff. Nice beach. Good food. Every night different shows for kids and adults. I would recommend this hotel. A lot of restaurants to eat. Close to resort market where you can get some gifts and souvenirs.

Don Lino Hotel: Great resort!

The rooms weren’t that great - we didn’t have hot water all week, however other visitors said most of them did. Some mold on the walls and the safe wouldn’t work. The beach was beautiful and extremely close to the rooms - huge bonus. The staff were amazing - very friendly, helpful, and fun! Tony helped us all week and became our number 1 person to talk to about anything we wanted to do. Renting bicycles was fun and we visited another beach close by that was beautifull. Paradisus Rio De Oro: 3rd Time's A Charm (Why go anywhere else?)

My girlfriend and I returned to "our" resort for our third trip in two years from May 4th to May 11th and already can't wait to return. It is the one week every year that we feel we are truly relaxed and so totally spoiled. Being greeted at the front desk check-in with champagne and a cool wet towel is a nice touch every year. Our room in building 42 where we love to stay was spotless and well air conditioned and our balcony facing the lobby side lets us hear the nightly entertainment on the few [... read more] nights we don't venture up that way. Our bar fridge is always fully stocked with our favorite Crystal beer. Each year we have become friends with more and more of the most friendly staff anywhere. Even those who we briefly met last year remembered us which blows our minds as they must meet thousands of people per year. There was never a problem getting a drink at either the lobby bar or the pool bar where we tend to spend most of our time. Pizza at the poolside snackbar (La Laguna) is the best as we indulged pretty much every day for lunch. It is now open 24 hours which is an added bonus if you want a snack when the disco closes. Oh ..the disco... We spent almost every night at the disco after the nightly lobby entertainment ended. Our good friends DJ Oso (Osario) and Roli played the best tunes and filled our requests every night. The place was hopping. We have tried all of the a la cartes but this year chose only the Japanese and ElPatio (International). Both meals were delicious and the show table at the Japanese is always entertaining. As in the two years past we treat ourselves to a special dinner on the gazebo overlooking the ocean. We highly recommend anyone to try it if they haven't. The food is great and the service is spectacular with a view that you can't compare. We truly love Paradisus Rio De Oro and will never think of going anywhere else. Why would we risk the services and atmosphere somewhere else when we know that we get treated so good at PRDO? Also, certain staff members we now consider friends and some we consider family. For anyone who hasn't been there, please treat yourself and go. You will not be disappointed. We plan to return next May for another week in Paradise, our home away from home. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great resort

We were all very happy with the resort. It was beautiful, very clean, and easy to get to everything. The few problems we had were corrected Aimmediately and everyone was nice and helpful. We had power outages but that was out of their hands although they could have had emergency back up. The only problem was the food, it lacked variety and quality of the meals were lacking. This is a resort that we would like to return to.

Playa Pesquero: Not as good as two years ago

Apparently this resort is under new management in the last two years, and it shows, especially in the customer service area. Much less helpful at the front desk, even an attitude from the front desk manager when I was there. I waited over an hour for a drive from my room to one of the far away restaurants. I eventually made my way to the lobby to try to get there--no explanation, no apology. Just a further " I will call again". Also, the buffet food was really bad. I couldn't even eat there. [... read more] Other resorts in Holguin with a lower star rating have great food. The a la cartes were very good, as was the coffee bar in the lobby. The front line staff were great. The management not so much. I won't go back. Left a bad taste with me. Not customer oriented.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: The beach is the best!

Good resort in need of some renovations. The food is always the same everyday, but they have a lot of choices on the buffet. The beach is the best. Spectacular! The last days of our stay there was a lot of algae on the beach.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Beautiful Wedding

This was my eight time at the resort. I have brought many people over the years because I had such a wonderful time for most of them. Unfortunately the resort is going through a transition with new ownership and all I have to say is that other than a beautiful wedding and good company our trip was quite a disappointment and I really don't think I would return here. Cuba itself is beautiful and I will continue to explore the island of paradise.

Playa Costa Verde: Great Staff

We have been to Costa Verde more than a dozen times. In the past we have loved it there. This time we noticed things were not the best. That room they gave us was sadly lacking. Toilet didn’t flush, room was musty, it was badly dated. We asked for and got a room change and the second room was great like we would normally expect. The food in the buffet was poor this time. We rea [... read more]lize some foods unavailable but very poorly presented this time. Spaghetti sitting in a pan in a watery milky sauce. Cheeses not always plentiful. Panini oven, great addition. Service was pretty good but too many trainees. Feel sorry for the wonderful permanent staff having to serve and train. They upgraded the main lobby and lobby bar and many of the chairs in buffet recovered. It has a nice appearance and more seating in the lobby. They replaced the cobblestone around the pool area which is so much safer and more attractive. Beach and pool area were good. The regular staff are just awesome. Our only complaint other than that main floor room we were initially given after we sent an email requesting second floor was the quality of food. The special dinner for repeat guests was the best meal we had all week. Beef tenderloin with shrimp, delicious. Lunch was missing many things that are usually there eg french fries but there was always pizza they were excellent. Supper was also disappointing with many of the usual things missing. One day there were literally chicken bones in the buffet serving cart with no meat on them. The a la carte restaurants were excellent in particular the Japanese. I would be remiss if I didn’t say how excellent all the staff is, they are one of the reasons we continue to go here.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Another Great Trip !!

Had a great 2 wks at Sol Rio de Luna Y mares, beach is awesome, staff were great, food was good, tried all the a la cartes and not disappointed , stayed in Section 6000 of the Luna side where we were close to everything. This being our 5th trip we will definitely be back again !!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Changes happening to fast

We have stayed at this resort several times. This year we left Halifax April 22 - May 6...our usual two week holiday. The first week there was amazing all our fav. employees were working and a pleasure to see them all again. Very excited that we did get our requested room so important to us. Then things started to change during our second week. Apparently resort was low on guests ...under new management etc. So we were told we had to leave our fav. room by a note left in our door. This was the  [... read more]start of disappointment and pure confusion. They said we were going to the plus section and so we did. If I had wanted to be in the plus section I would have booked that way. Long walk when u need two knee replacements. They closed the main buffet..the beach restaurant and the larcarts. Things got hectic discouraging.. frustrating etc. The one main reason we return to this resort ever year is employees..our room..and the food. I understand this is Cuba different way of life and I truly love our friends there. Never had this happen to us before at this resort but being trustful we had left two thermoses and my morning coffee mug on our patio table. Went to look for them and they were gone. I know in my heart ..gut and mind it was not the employees working there. Lots of rumors of how locals come in on the weekends and steel cutterly etc. Now keep in mind the employees have to pay for these items so I was told. Not sure of the upper Managers name but he does not speak English. I believe it was his wife that I seen several times walking around with a walkie talkie. I was quite taken back when I did witness her showing authority in the buffet. It was hot these people work their butts off doing repetious work. Omg this one worker had a small glass half glass of water and with one point by a finger she had to get rid of the water. Come on lady in the long dress really !!!! really it's not the Ritz Carlton. Oh to you and your husband your welcome on the gift we gave you both and also for your 10 year old son. The employees feel positive changes are coming to the resort .I hope it will be that way. To take out all regular staff well almost all lay them off or send them painting u have to be kidding me. The students that replaced them are running around shoes to big or too small working like animals for free. Um yeah something wrong with that set up. Yes they need on secene training hey but not put out there like they are totally lost. Lastly no one can fill Barbara's shoes no one. Sorry we did not see her this year in public relations. Will I go back right now debateable. I have to say I would recommend to a friend as long as they read reviews from here on. As I don't know what it will be like next April.
