Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: A good standard resort

The premise is clean in all areas: well-maintained resort, clean rooms, clean public areas, clean pools and clean beach. The buffet food was acceptable. The a la carte restaurants' food needs improvement. Entertainment also needs to be improved.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: GREAT RESORT

Grounds were clean Beach was amazing and my room was top of the line. Great view and close to all ammenities. Am already planning my trip back for in December with the rest of the family as well

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great Adult Vacation Spot

Room options offers include huge rooftop suites, ground floor swimout suites, pool views on 2nd floor or rooms facing mangroves. We opted for swim out (first time) and loved it. Not much in the way of salad or fresh fruit the week we were there but whatever they have is yours. The staff were all amazing; the genuine friendliness of the Cuban people is second to none and the professional demeanor of most every staff member was a treat.. Ariel, our butler was truly awesome. He made a la carte reservations look easy and was the go-to guy for any and every detail. Can't say enough good things. Caesar was the food and beverage team lead and again, can't say enough about the fabulous effort to engage every guest. The entire team made our stay wonderful. Dairon, Armando, Lady, Axanay, Leonel, Yari, Yas Nier, Jimmy and Joseph the piano man. OMG, there are more... sadly too many to mention everyone who made our stay outstanding.

I just returned from the most incredible couple of weeks in Cuba, and I had to share my gratitude! A massive thank you to the entire staff at the Meliá Costa Rey in Cayo Coco. Over the last 6/7 years Ronney and I have always kept it touch on a regular basis. I've gotten to know his family with open arms. This visit which is now called the Melia Costa Rey was special. It was considered a surprise visit to see Ronney and meet his family in person. Ronney as usual did not disappoint. From the moment he realized that I had arrived at the resort, even though off for a few days, he immediately jumped into his jeep and drove an hour and some to the resort from Moron where he and his family live. Got to spend some time in Moron with Ronney and his family and was welcomed into their home as family. Memories that will last forever ... Beyond the resort, the hospitality from the people of Cuba in general was heartwarming. The warmth, kindness, and spirit I encountered everywhere I went truly made the trip special. Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing relaxing resort

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda was a quiet, well appointed resort with wonderful attentive staff, managed daily by a “Professional Butler” named Ariel. The food was typically Cuban with enough variety to feed a normal appetite. Our swim up unit was close to all amenities and minutes away from the larger family orientated Esmeralda next door. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Quick birthday trip to Cayo Cruz

This resort had just what we needed for a short trip to celebrate a birthday- a good selection of food and beverage spots, and we enjoyed both pool areas. Weather was fantastic. We upgraded to an ocean view and are very happy with that decision- room was spacious and clean. Sadly, lots of seaweed during our visit cut or beach time a little short! Would recommend for a quick beach getaway out of Toronto.

Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo: Stop Overrating This Hotel – Worst Beach Experience Ever

We booked this place because most reviews were five stars, and it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments ever. The worst part — the beach situation is a complete joke. There are not enough beach chairs for guests. This is CUBA — people come here for the ocean and the beach, yet every single day we had to fight for a chair. Guests were “reserving” them early in the morning with towels or even sticks, then leaving for hours. By the time we came around 10 or 11 am, every single chai [... read more]r was already taken. Why do we have to wake up early during vacation just to get a chair? It’s ridiculous! We couldn’t even sit on towels because of sand fleas that bite like crazy, so relaxing on the sand wasn’t an option either. We literally had to stay in the ocean for hours, waiting for someone to finally leave. This is absolutely unacceptable. Never, ever had this experience anywhere else. The staff, in general, struggle with communication — most of them don’t speak English, which makes even simple requests difficult. However, I want to mention a few amazing people who truly made an effort: our butlers Jesus and Asciel, and the lady bartender in the lobby who made great cocktails. Everyone else looked unmotivated. And if that wasn’t enough, the buffet was closed during our entire stay. So we were stuck with a few la carte restaurants, and the food was awful. No vegetables, almost no fruits, everything tasteless and repetitive. Service? A complete disaster. We had to wait forever just to get a menu, drinks, and dishes. It felt like nobody cared at all. At least with a buffet, we could’ve served ourselves and avoided this chaos. Overall, this hotel is a huge disappointment — overpriced, poorly managed, and absolutely not worth the high ratings it keeps getting. When we mentioned the situation with the beach chairs, the staff simply said they “didn’t expect so many people.” Really? Is that the answer I’m supposed to accept after paying so much more than for a usual hotel in Cuba? If you value your vacation time, go somewhere else. This place completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing beach holiday.

Melia Cayo Coco: A True Paradise

This was my third vacation here and I love it more and more every time I travel here. The resort is super Clean and laid out beautifully. Good variety of food at the buffet and 3 a la cartes to dine at as well. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and make you feel at home! The beach is to die for!!! Rooms are very spacious and well equipped with very comfortable beds and pillows. Stocked mini fridge with water, pop and beer daily. I will be returning again for my 4th visit in February!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This was our second time staying at Caribe and again it met all of our expectations. The problem we had was with Trip Central itself. As we booked thru Trip Central with knowing about the merger between Sunwing and Westjet we did not think that we would have encountered the problems that did. Unable to prebook our seats was an issue and the Trip Central Susan Snider was not at all helpful with us being able to do this. She was notified upfront when speaking to her and emailing her to [... read more] our preference in seating due to some disabilities that I have. She did not follow up with any emails I sent with regards to this as well as the follow up phone calls my husband made to her. Cannot remember what the date was but I was in the online portal for Sunwing and discovered that the seats were finally available to purchase, so I did this on my own. Other than not receiving follow up help from the Susan Snider our vacation was great.

Sanctuary White Sands: Amazing resort! Get the premium service

Newer resort. Excellent experience. Beautiful beach! Very nice, big rooms, very nice restaurants. The food was very good in sufficient quantity. Friendly staff Daylin, Yanelis, Deimis gave an excellent service, their smiles are contagious. They are hardworking and love what they do. My husband and I stayed from Oct.11 to Oct.25, we have celebrated our 40th anniversary. Special mention to Daylin for her excellent service. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful Grounds

Beautiful Grounds and beach. Facilities could use updating. Food was average for Cuba. Workers are resort were fantastic. We were there late October, the resort was half empty - no line up's anywhere. Misqkitoes were heavy in the evenings.

Hotel Mojito: Amazing beach and staff

I had an amazing week at Hotel Mojito in Cayo Coco, Cuba. The beach is absolutely beautiful, and they have the best coffee I’ve ever had — especially at the lobby bar! ☕ Every single staff member I met was so kind, welcoming, and hardworking — from the bartenders and maids to the lobby, guest services, and animation team. Sanctuary White Sands: Was really disappointed

This rated as a 4.5* hotel. I’m fully aware that standards in Cuba are not the same but this was definitely more a 2*. I’ve been to Cuba many times and I know that we don’t go to Cuba for the food, BUT, peas shouldn’t be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Adding mushrooms or pickles to the bowl of peas doesn’t make it any better. It was literally the same food everyday at every meal with no fresh vegetables at all. There was no service except for the main lobby or the lunch buffet area, no service at the beach, pool area or room service. The only reason that it bothered me was because one evening I wasn’t feeling the greatest and just wanted to stay in my room, only one buffet area was available and it’s not allowed to take food out. Sheets in the room were dirty, housekeeping was slow and they have a coffee maker in the room but don’t provide the coffee! (You need to bring it from home) I’m honestly not one to complain but this was a tough one to make the most of it. My positive is definitely the lobby bar staff and the concierge’s did work hard to try and make everyone happy.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: SMOKEY

Hotel rooms nice, staff great, food good but stay away if you are a non smoker. They will ruin your trip. I could not even see a single show or relax anywhere including my own balcony and the beach. It was that bad. I don't think the staff enjoyed it either. Make some smoke free zones for the rest of us. I will definitely not be back for this reason.

Lovely, clean resort, good beach , nice swimming pools, friendly staff, food ok sometimes even very good, many good cakes, good ice-cream. I missed the amazing cuban Mulata coffee and coconut liqueurs, they did not offer them this time. We spent a pleasant vacation here.

Sol Cayo Coco: Small .. amazing resort

Even though was off season .. with low capacity .. we love it! It’s very cozy-small and works for us .. rooms are large and beds are very comfortable and new ..had an amazing room with breath taking view .. in resort everything is close by .. rooms,pool,teatar ,beach .. clean and well kept .. but mostly.. people (staff) and the beach are exceptional .. welcoming and friendly !! Will be back for sure

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Disappointed

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are nicely, renovated, clean and comfy. The bartenders at the poolside bar as well as a snack bar were the absolute best!! The housekeepers were so sweet! We loved the pools. I did encounter multiple crabs in the pools.. a huge one crawled under my foot at the swim up bar, but definitely out of the resorts control. We heard such amazing things about the food at Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo and was hoping it would come through. Beach restaurant was closed our entire stay, my little one was looking forward to pizza. Lots of repetitive dishes, some were edible. We witnessed a bad case food poisoning from the à la cart international menu by another family staying on the resort. Lastly, due to hurricane Melissa approaching; our flight was delayed 5 days prior too leaving, I went to the front desk to ask to extend our room for a few hours. Original flight was set to depart at 4:25pm, that changed to 9:25pm arriving into Toronto at 12:50am. Please keep in mind that there is roughly 150 hotel rooms and there were probably about 100 vacant rooms. There was maybe 50 people at most at the resort during our stay. It was not busy at all. We were first asked if we were repeat guests, I said no. I feel that if we were repeat guests then we would have been treated different. They the told me that it will be $20 an hour to keep our room. That they don’t give anything for FREE. My husband and I decided not to pay that. Then we then were told we had to pay $20 deposit for each beach towel. We had no choice as we were still in the pool. We then went to our room and began removing our luggage and by 11:20am the housekeepers were outside our hotel room door ready to clean… check out was at 12pm. We had spoke to other guests that were repeats and they were absolutely baffled in the outcome. Sadly, we will not return to Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo. We love Cuba, the people and the culture.

Nice hotel, very very clean everywhere ground and room.Food is ok, nothing special but very tasty. Biggest concern about customer service. I read many reviews about Dennis What she amazing bur she do nothing just walking around or sitting in beach bar and drinking beer. I saw it myself. We requested sofabed and waited 18 hours. I back to the lobby twice and customer service manager just open her eyes and answer "you still don't have sofabed it's strange. The beach is ok but not perfect . The resort clean on the outside ,it is an older resort so some needed touch up would help .. The staff were great and friendly..Food quality wasn’t the greatest ..They did have eggs in the morning..Pool patio bar had your staples of snack food ,they would run out product constantly..Night entertainment was great ..The beach is not walkers beach

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (3/5) We just returned from White Sanctuary Sands in Cayo Cruz. Overall, the trip was fair but underwhelming compared to our visit a year ago. The rooms were clean but a bit musty — thankfully my diffuser helped. We had ongoing issues with our room key needing to be reprogrammed daily (sometimes twice!), which was frustrating. The safe was broken on arrival but fixed promptly, though our repeated requests to replace burnt-out lights were never addressed. The buffet quality has noticeably declined — limited variety, repetitive dishes, and mostly pork, rice, and canned vegetables. No chicken, no pasta, fries, or burgers all week, though there was plenty of pizza and ham-and-cheese sandwiches. The à la carte restaurants were just okay. We don’t visit Cuba for the food and understand limitations, but the drop in quality from last year was hard to ignore. Overall, it was an average experience — fine for a relaxing week, but we’ll likely choose a different resort next time.
