Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Amazing time!

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Dreams Macao Beach resort. Everything was very well kept and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful! The food at the restaurants were good and we had no problem getting seats at the restaurants either (thought this would be harder since we went during March break). My only wish would be that a few restaurants opened earlier as we were travelling with young kids who have early bedtimes. The entertainment for the kids after dinner was a lot of fun! Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Good times, terrible food

The hotel itself is good and the rooms are really nice. We had a great time in the plunge pool when we needed some quiet time. But the food in the resort was so bad. Even if they tried a little, it would be decent. It's like they just don't care at all. They know we have no other choice. The quality anf the taste is so bad. Each restaurant is worse than the other. We even picked this one coz it's supposed to be decent with the food. But no, it was terrible.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Decent but will not return

We stayed 7 days Feb 27-March 6th. As soon as we all got to the resort we went to the bar to try and find a table then when we finally did.. we had to clean and wipe down the table then waited for service and waited. Which did not come. We squeezed up at the bar and got some cocktails. Sadly the hard alcohol at the resort is aweful. Beer and basic teqiilla were fine and the wine . The pool cafe was delicious and everything made to order. The fries were yummy and the quesadilla were the best. Pool chairs were hard to come by and got taken up by 9am. Towels that were placed to hold were removed by staff after about 35 min which is good thing otherwise no one would have a good place to lay. The pools are average and we lost the best pool for a day as someone pooped in the pool. The beach was small and tons of the seaweed floating in and out of the water. Lots of rocks so bring water shoes. Not enough beach chairs for sure. Our first room overlooked a mug pile and stunk of sewage so the changed our room with a better view but the balcony had a high cement wall so we could not enjoy it. Rooms were average. Nice shower. The AC was poor and motion operated so when you left and came back after hours in the beating sun the room temp was 24-25 and took way to long to go down to 21.5 which was the lowest it would go. Buffet breaky was good but long lineups to get in. Good service in most of the restaurants. We loved Willain in the Italian restaurant. He went over and above and excellent at his job. My sister only had hot hot water for one day then the last day they had no water at all. They were also doing maintenance work below our room at 315am! Loud banging as they were removing floor tile. Basic service was fine. Food was fine. Alcohol was Meh. Had floral taste in the gin and vodka so make sure you go ask for a specific brand. Great latte snack bar open 24 hrs. Get the latter with Baileys. yummy. iced or hot. All in all we all agree we would not return to this resort. However if you have nothing to compare it to you will be fine. Our group of 6 have been to mexico many times and had experienced better resorts.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great resort with amazing staff!

This resort was excellent! The staff really goes out of their way to look after you and it’s a very welcoming place. Highlights were: super clean, food was delicious, beds comfortable, kids club was a hit, beautiful beach and so much more. I would not hesitate to recommend Dreams Onyx.

Hyatt Vivid Cancun: Very nice ??

we travelled as a family with our kids and grandkids, and really enjoyed this resort. The food was good in most cases and very good in some cases. The pool was absolutely amazing and the golf course also was great. Round of golf is 125 US after 1 PM and included range balls and water. We also rented clubs and they had a variety on hand for us so it was no issue and they were good quality. Now for the beach, the beach is small, but it was still very nice and had great hammock to lay in and a litt [... read more]le beach bar as well. Seating was limited unless you had preferred club which we did not, but we never missed having that. They seem to do something special every night and the entertainment was always wonderful as well. Rooms were very nice and every room had a fantastic view . If I had only one complaint it was that the kids section was between two hotels so there was almost no sun there and it was very cool and windy making it unuseable for much of the day. That was too bad, especially if you want kids to have that experience… It wasn’t too much of a bother for us because swimming in the pool and the beach worked just as well.

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Prefect beach ,amazing staff

The beach was the highlight of the hotel , and people gravitate to the ocean . The soft white sand is prefect for walking and wading into the ocean for a float in the calm waters. The room we stayed in was a little dated but quite comfortable, the tub is very deep and caution needed to be used getting in and out ( not good for anyone with disabilities) I have heard the renovated rooms have walk in showers. The food was always plentiful and something for everyone, lots of Mexican flavour for those that like to try something new, but also lots of Americana choices . The staff were so very friendly , professional and helpful ,at every restaurant they inquire about allergies , show you to the table , place the napkin on your lap and cater to your needs…even at the buffet. ( bring lots of tips ,they deserve it. ) The concierge staff were so very helpful and during our stay we encountered a couple of medical issues and they were so very helpful arranging appointments and following up to ensure we were taken care of. We would highly recommend this hotel when you are at the beach you forget you are right on the hotel strip and steps away from shopping when you walk out the front entrance. They do have a VIP program they try and get you to buy into ( timeshare program ) however that’s the norm in Mexico and we are used to avoiding those. We are used to staying at much larger hotels but we were not disappointed with the Dreams Sands Cancun .

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Wonderful Vacation

The beach is a well kept long stretch that has both calm and rougher water areas so you can pick which one you like better. The buffet was average with alot of choices, and the a la cart restaurants were quite good. Staff was very helpful, and our butler Alejandro was beyond amazing. The only one area that could have been better was our room (block 5). It was dated, and the bathroom badly needed an upgrade. Getting the sliding door to open was very difficult and they weren't able to repair it (n [... read more]eeds to be replaced). That said, we spent very little time in our room so it wasn't a deal breaker for us. We actually would have wanted to stay longer ..

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great resort!

Overall great place. Great staff, great food and drinks. Areas of improvement could be the beach sand which is hard and rocky. Pillows in rooms were terrible. Musty smell in our room. Decorative ropes hanging in rooms could be eliminated.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

This hotel far exceeded my expectations!! Every employee I came in contact with wanted nothing more than to make our stay a wonderful experience. All staff went above and beyond to make even the smallest detail special. We were a family of 8 with 4 teens. They loved the teen club, and said they enjoyed it even more than the arcade. I can not wait to return to this resort again

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great Resort!

This was our second time at Onyx, we were there just after it opened in March 2017. They have since then expanded the grounds to include a waterpark and additional rooms. Note, our first stay was mainly adults, it is now more of a family resort. Not an issue for us, and we did not find the kids overly intrusive as they tended to frequent the water park etc. Much busier this time capacity wise. The abundance of staff was able to provide proper service despite that. The weather was great, 28-30 C [... read more] during the day, partly cloudy, overnight dropping to 20-24 C but by 9 am it was back up to at least 26. Not much rain, the usual 5-10 minute showers off and on for the most part. Taking everything into account, we really enjoyed ourselves. Pros: Staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. Key persons such as the hostess at the buffet and bartenders at the bars we frequented remembered us after the first couple of days and greeted us more like friends than guests. Very clean resort in all aspects with constant cleaning/upkeep Maintenace across the entire resort. Food was a bit hit-and-miss based on our tastes (typical of most resorts), however overall the quality and selection was good. We just had to learn what to look for and choose accordingly. The A La Carte restaurants were good although they were first come, first seated. Wait times not bad (the longest we waited was about 1/2 hr, just grabbed a drink at the Prelude Bar and enjoyed the wait). Drinks were decently prepared, bartenders were able to prepare a good selection, and the bars are spaced around so that you didn't feel like it was hard to get refills. See note below regarding Beach Area (service). Room. We had a swim up (as usual), the room was well appointed, the outdoor area had a hot tub, 2 sitting chairs, 2 loungers (with a small grassy area we could move them out onto) and a small table. The cleaning staff did a good job and after speaking with the person who stocked the mini bar, every day we had lots of bottled water and 3 beers with nothing else as we requested. Be sure to read the Cons section below... Beach Area, lots of lounge chairs at the beach, enough that after the first couple days we didn't bother to go down early to claim some where we wanted that day. We prefer being in the sun, the Palapas seemed to fill up faster? Very clean beach, virtually no seaweed. There were 2 bars at the beach area, so not far to go to get drinks. Service at the beach was typical, moderate wait times as the servers took massive orders/filled /delivered them. I prefer to get up and move around every now and then anyway, I can't just sit there drinking and baking in the sun all day. LOL! Pool Areas we cannot comment on as we never sat there (we never hang out at the pool, prefer the beach). But passing by, everyone looked to be having a great time. We did a walk-through of the water park; it was busy and looked like a lot of fun. We just ran out of time, or I would have done the slides that looked great. Cons: VERY windy (coming straight off the ocean) this time compared to the last time. Effect of going almost a month earlier? Ocean was breaking in the center of the beach, which could bowl you over when they broke if you aren't that confident in the water, once past the "surf area" it was more of a bob in the water. My wife preferred the left side of the beach that had a bit of reef where it was pretty gentle getting in/swimming. The WIND tended to sandblast you, mostly when people would walk by/kids playing. For that reason, we spent a lot of time at our swim up room sunning/swimming/drinking. There was a bar very close, and sporadic service right at the room. NOTE: Not much the resort can do about the weather. House flies were pretty annoying early morning/later afternoon on our patio. I noted they were pretty much across the resort as well, although I didn't notice them in the buffet (open air)/restaurants. Not biting flies, just annoying when they would land on you. The resort may want to look into fly strips, but not sure if that would take away some of the ambiance? At least there were no mosquitos that we saw at any point, and I only saw them fog the edge of the grounds on our side once.

Dreams Flora Resort and Spa: Beautiful place....but.....

The grounds to this resort are awesome. We checked in at the front counter and as soon as we turned around, we were already bombarded by a sales rep asking us about "upgrades". Not even a chance to get to our room. Just terrible. The food in the buffet, was pretty much the same everyday (pretty much expected). Food always overcooked and dry. The restaurants, were okay. Again, over cooked meals. The French restaurant, was....well lets just say....not french. Service lacked big time. T [... read more]he beach to the resort was average. Dreams Bahia Mita Surf and Spa: Wouldn’t stay again

The staff was lovely, the food was great, the actual resort was not for me. The pools were small and random and most on the Dreams side didn’t have a view of the ocean so you could have been anywhere. Our room view was construction-not the resorts fault obviously. Beach was rocky and had great surf- not so great for swimming. Because of the odd design, there was so much walking (14,000 steps per day) to get to the pool, restaurants and our room). Our room had a horrible sewer smell, we complaine [... read more]d multiple times and staff tried to fix it, but they finally changed our room on night 5, which was a lovely room upgrade. I’ve been to much nicer Dreams locations, so I wouldn’t come back here.

Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf and Spa Resort: Loved our vacation/resort!

We would 100% recommend this resort! The location is amazing, the attentiveness of the staff, the food and the genuineness of the staff is top notch! We upgraded to the Preferred Club and we’d do it again.

We loved every minute. The resort was so clean. Bars were 9 well stocked bars and staff was so courteous. Beach was white sand and was raked daily Restaurants were all good. Especially the Italian we liked. The buffet was always plenty. The deserts were so good.it really is a beautiful place.

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Quaint

Cute resort for families. If you don’t love walking, this is perfect. Awesome pools, food and drinks are great. Beach was nice despite the run off. We still managed to swim a bit. Things I didn’t love; lack of chairs in lobby and pools, lack of night time entertainment past 10pm. Hotel being four years old, is looking a little rough. I would rate this a 4*, not a 5*.

We enjoyed everything about this resort, our room was great and clean! The food and evening entertainment was better than any of the other resorts we vacationed at in Punta Cana. Staff are super friendly!

Great Beach, cooler Ocean but safe, Golf course was in good shape and GC service was excellent. Our Stay at the resort was excellent. No concerns with food selection and service of all staff was very good. ??

The resort was lovely, immaculately clean and the staff were lovely. We booked a Premium Poolview room which turned out to overlook the waterpark in Building 7. Initially, we weren’t too keen on the location because we thought it would be too noisy. However, we soon appreciated its close proximity to the restaurants and to the Breathless resort next door. The pools were a little on the cool side but we acclimated after the initial jolt. Initially, we used the Dreams pool. However, we found it noisy and ended up using the Breathless pool for the rest of the week. The Breathless pool closest to the lobby was loud and rowdy. We avoided that and stayed in the mid section of the pool near the Grill. It was generally quiet and we had no problem getting chairs. The beach end of the pool with the swim up bar was a little noisier. Basically, there were pool options for everyone. We only saw the fire show so I can’t comment on the entertainment. Overall, it was a good week snd I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Stayed at this resort for 11 nights in January 2025. We stayed at the Building #8. The room was clean and well equipped. There is no elevator but it was not an issue for accessing a room on the top (third) floor. Our balcony was facing a next resort's maintenance yard, so we did experience constant noise from coming trucks, staff and delivery. The resort grounds are lovely and well maintained. Taking a fresh beach towel is not an issue and this hotel does not have a card system for towels exchange. Rooms are cleaned and stocked very well. Water pressure in the shower is good. There are several a la cart restaurants with NO RESERVATIONS policy. We managed to get into a French restaurant. While slow (the dinner took about 1.5 hours), the atmosphere at the restaurant and menu was enjoyable. We tried to get to other restaurants three times with no luck (the wait time varies between 40 min - 1h45min) and did not have any luck. People complained about this inconvenience and we also found it challenging not being able to plan the evening because of undetermined dinner time. The World Café (buffet restaurant) was good. Special notice for hostess who were very friendly and responsive. Food was flavorful with lots of options. Grilled options were our typical choice. Interesting selection of infused waters. Service was good. A couple BBQ/Mexican style dinners were interesting but a little awkward as we felt like wedding guests at the "other party" table. Drinks were good, both cocktails and mocktails. A coffee shop and gelato places were great. We enjoyed shows, especially the fire one. Singers in the lobby was very professional and set the special vacation mood. The Indigo/privilege part of the resort is great. The rooms are new and a balcony view is great. We did not find too much difference in the room décor. Overall, I'd give 4+ out of 5 for this resort.
