Club Kawama: Great Guest Service Experience

Hotel is not exemplary, but nothing can compare to the warmth and welcoming guest experience the staff at Club Kawama gave us. For first timers, We made great memories here and greater friends. Would highly recommend this to my family and friends.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Do not book

We stayed in the villa at the be live Varadero, worst resort ever. First the room was dirty. There was no chair I the room I sat on the bed and it touched the floor. The box spring was broken and I had to sleeep in it all week. The shower doors in the bathroom were falling off and broken and thin was so dirty I was scared to step into it. There is no hot water to shower with . They fit. Leave you toilet paper or a bottle water of everyday so you have to go buy it . The food is the worst part. It has the smallest buffet ever with very few items and it never changes. It is awful you have live in bread. Myself and my parent we got sick from the food and drinks that we could Only eat bread and drink water in the end. The bathrooms throughout the resort are so dirty and smelly . I would never again go back or refer this resort to anyone it was the worst vacation ever

Club Kawama: more than what we asked for!

The food was good and quite a selection,both hot and cold.No pina coladas until the last day.the fridge was cold and the security box worked.we did not get our pillows that we asked for.we got an upgrade from economy to valet parking for the same price.the beach was clean.

Roc Barlovento: Not terrible, but not great

Staff at the Lobby Bar are wonderful! - Jamal and Hilda in the morning, Micheal and Joshep (sometimes Jose M) in the afternoon/evening, and Sergio on the overnight - are what make this hotel worth going to. Very friendly, excellent service, remember your order, I don't have enough nice things to say about these specific staff. Front desk staff are fairly friendly, a few not so pleasant but a smile can go a long way. Two of the ladies on the buffet staff were wonderful, we stuck to the same secti [... read more]on so we always had the same two ladies and they both remember what each of us drank but would still ask in case we changed our minds. Food was good, okay selection, just seems slightly repetitive but was not as bad as everyone says it is in Cuba. Maid service needs much improvement. We had a 10 day stay and our bed sheets did not get changed once. Floors were rarely swept so you are always walking on sand if you go to the beach often. If your 'Do Not Disturb' sign doesnt get stolen, they ignore it and come in anyways. Our room was okay, bed was a little springy. Would wake up at least once a night with a spring poking me in the side. Air Conditioner had a drip for most of the stay, although it was tolerable. Balcony door was not level therefore leaving a 1 inch wide by 3 inch tall gap at the bottom of the door causing my boyfriend to get severely attacked by mosquitos on our last 2 nights. Bathroom needs improvement. Door was half glass with no curtain on it, toilet seat was 2-3 inches too small, toilet did not have a handle it was a bottle cap attached to high test fishing line, and our faucet and shower head in the tub had a spot that would spray in the opposite direction when it was on. They do not provide you with regular sized towels, they are slightly oversized hand towels. They do not replenish your bottled water. You can take your empty bottle to the bar and they will refill it for you, or if you go for a walk into town it is cheap to purchase a couple bottles. - If you spend the extra for Roc Plus a couple of the perks are supposed to be water in your room daily, beach towels awaiting upon arrival and larger shower towels, but we heard complaints from a few people that they did not follow through with these things and that it was not worth the extra money. The maintenance throughout the grounds could use some improvement as well. The hotel is in a great location, with a short walk you can go into town and visit the Varadero Street Markets, and with a little bit of a farther walk you can be even farther into town with more shops, restraunts and tourist attractions such as the house of chocolate, house of rum, and house of cigars. If you are not up for the walk, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel where for 5 pesos each you can board and depart the bus as many times in one day as you would like, just keep your ticket. The bus goes from one end of varadero to the other. The beach was gorgeous, sometimes hard to find chairs under the shaded palm leaf huts but we seemed to luck out and find one each time. Maintenance could improve at the beach area. More cigerette butts and plastic cups than I would like to see but not enough to say it was disgusting. Overall, it was not a terrible stay and for our first time in Cuba we enjoyed ourselves very much, but I do not think we would return to this hotel in the future.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Cozy and exceeded my expectations!

My whole experience was quite enjoyable. I did not go in with over the top expectations because I had read all the reviews but my room turned out to be exactly what I expected and the food was not bad at all! I got to even try out the restaurant across the street which I highly recommend! The staff were friendly and helpful and the beach was BEAUTIFUL. I highly recommend this resort for a cozy and comfortable vacation

Roc Barlovento: Needs work

The resort overall was ok. The bartenders and buffet staff were great. Maids never changed bed sheets, swept floor and disregarded do not disturb sign. Sliding door for balcony wouldnt close so bugs in the room at night were horrible. Rain leaked inside the room as well as the ac. Food was good but very repetitive. Reception staff were quite rude.

Nacional de Cuba: Beautiful hotel

The hotel itself has amazing history and a beautiful view of the ocean. Lots of restaurants and things to do. The interior and exterior of the hotel is gorgeous and a rare find. The pool was nice but the chlorine levels must have not been correct as the both of us got an eye infection immediately after we used the pool.

Roc Barlovento: Great Hotel

5th trip to Cuba, 2nd stay at the Barlovento. Food was good and plenty for all. Room clean, mattress comfy. Pool area clean except late Friday to Monday as well as when people came in with day passes. Staff amazing - Osmany, Madelin, Deisy, Joel, Joseph, Migel, Reinier, Livan and everyone else. Need to improve monitoring people smoking and drinking in the pool. Put ashtrays of some kind at beach - people putting their cigarette butts in sand for others to step on. More ashtrays and garbage co [... read more]ntainers in and around lobby and pool areas. Staff could be educated to tell guests nicely to pick up their garbage. I don't mind telling people to clean up their mess as this affects everyone. Lovely hotel, will return. Thank you to everyone for a relaxing week (June 10-18). Would rate 3.5 - 4.0 stars.

Hotel Villa Cuba: My second Home

This was my 10th trip and my 12th stay at Las Morlas . All my visits have been very , very favourable. Every one there knows me. From the Bosses to the gardeners . I am always greeted with "Welcome home Leila ". I always refer my friends to go to the BEST Hotel in Varadero . The hospitality is super and food is comparable to no other hotel in Varadero . I will stay at none other than Las Morlas .

Hotel Villa Cuba: Be live experience varadero

The room in the hotel was very nice, but the bathroom needed a little bit of freshening up. The food in the buffet was good at the beginning, however, it was exactly the same during the entire week so we got tired of the food. We booked at the Chinese restaurant and found it to be extremely good, so we ate there two times. The layout of the resort is great as there is not too much walking. The ocean of course is the best! Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Low season

Good place to kiting. Beach is clean. Personnel is gentle. Pool was clean. The buffet place too but the quality of food was very poor. Many times it was warm or cold. My room was ok. But in many rooms was bugs water on the floor conditioner air difficulties. Many bugs on the resort

Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort

The hotel was beautiful. We were in a villa near the beach. Grounds were well kept everyone was friendly and helpful. The gym could use a makeover most of the equipment is old and broken. Always lots to eat and a good variety. We ate at the bistro one night food was awesome. The lady who works at the gym massage place is very helpful.

Nacional de Cuba: Great history!

I went on a tour of this historic hotel and it did not disappoint. It had beautiful furnishings and fixtures. The all you can eat buffet breakfast is amazing and indeed filling. Most days it was not necessary for me to even consider eating lunch. The pool setting is nice and relaxing although shaded areas are at a premium so best to try and get a seat there early if you are not there for the sun. They are quite dated and could definitely use an upgrade. Particularly in the bathroom.

This resort was amazing the staff were great all the people were friendly The room we had was AMAZING ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! We Was Entertainment Every Night Which Was Always A Pleasure To Go To Every Night I Would Give This Resort A Much Bigger Star!

Hotel Villa Cuba: Had a good time

Clean rooms, good happy staff/service for the most part Never had issues with hot water or toilet paper :) clean beach, awesome ocean!! Never had problems finding food from early am to late pm. This resort always had ice which is a bonus! I did Run into an issue with theft and not much was done about it . But I guess who took the money/shoes needed it more than I do..

Club Kawama: Cute resort - some cons but does the job.

At first I was a bit put off by this place as my expectations were higher, but the place does grow on you. It’s a cute club and it has everything you need. The food could be better and I wish they had more options for drinks. I noticed that the bathrooms were always dirty and without toilet paper. I also wish the hotel staff were more knowledgeable to help tourists. There were many instances were I felt pressured to tip and spend extra money which I didn’t have.

Club Karey: We will go back again!

It was a very simple hotel but served us great. We could still see some scars of hurricanes but that’s why it was only 10 sec access to the very quiet beautiful beach from our room, which we absolutely loved! Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Foods were simple but as rice lovers, we have no complains to make to be served rice and fish everyday alongside with other meals. Room essentials were somewhat missing, such as toiletries, hair dryer, telephone in a room. But we managed and had [... read more] fun! Although beach access was fantastic but a little far to get to downtown Varadero. (That’s why we gave only 4 stars for location.) If anyone is looking for a underdog-budget place, this hotel is a great choice. But anyone is looking for more night life, would like to party, this may not suit you. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: It's still Cojimar - No matter what the name change

If you are looking for a laid back resort, with few fellow tourists, this might be the resort for you. This is our 12th visit to Gran Garibe, and we have returned, not so much for the resort, but for the people that are employed there. We love the Staff. We try and get one of the older bungalows right down by the beach. The buildings are the oldest on the resort, but what the heck, they are right on the beach... You can always find something to eat - Breakfast, always the best, lunch, try the pool bar, supper, try the Italian Restaurant - limited menu , but good. We go for the beach, you can walk from Gran Caribe all the way down to the Sol - 6kms.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort

This was a great resort. It was very clean, very friendly staff and great food. The beach was amazing. Would definitely recommend this resort and would stay here again. Nice large room and great entertainment
