Occidental Punta Cana: Terrible

Bathroom was in need of renovations badly. Smoke smell always in our room. Cocktails all to sweet. Staff at front desk, not helpful or friendly. Pool was clean, and waiters at pool bar very friendly..

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Occidnetal Grand Xcaret

The resort was a bit disorienting at first. We didnt find quite a few things until our last couple of days. We also had some difficulty with our excursions. The room was clean and comfortable and the trails within the resort were fun to walk because of the wildlife you would come across.The evening shows were very well done and it was a nice surprise to see different vendors set up around the theatre during a couple of evenings. Occidental Punta Cana: Wonderful vacation!

just arrived home last night from a wonderful vacation, the food was completely unexpectedly delicious we didn't have a meal that wasn't flavorful, presented nicely and made with perfection! The staff were friendly, the grounds were very well kept, the pools were nice, the beach area (Air Transat Privilege Club private area) was wonderful, a special shout out to Franklin the beach bartender! Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Great place!

This beach and water at this resort were amazing! The food was better than I had thought it was going to be. Drinks were great, the room was small and a little dark, but it was clean. I'd go here again in the future

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: A great Getaway

The room was very clean and well taken care of. There were many animals to see and the large resort had some Mayan ruins around the resort. The The pools were amazing and kept clean at all times. The staff were very friendly and looked after our every need. We enjoyed the entertainment although we did not go every night, but when we did it was entertaining and enjoyable. We had a great holiday

Allegro Cozumel: We enjoyed our stay at this resort

This was a good resort and we would return again. The grounds were clean and well kept. The food was usually good. The beach was great and open very calm. The only minor complaint was the line ups at the beach bar were usually long because it was the the only drink location open all day and only one server. There was a second person but they did very little each time I saw them, mostly just washing cups. In total we had a great time and would go back if the price was right.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: family friendly

I really enjoyed my stay right from the start the lobby was beautiful the rooms are very well done loved hearing the birds in the morning when the Sun rose.the activities for kids and adults we're very entertaining over all l would definitely stay here again

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Nice aged resort

The staff are fantastic, kind and genuine, "gracias". The whole property is aged and in need of some maintenance. The rooms were clean but again maintenance is needed. Overall nice family vacation spot.

Allegro Cozumel: Amazing stay

Staff, hotel, beach, food, WONDERFUL. we had a great time! Went down for our cousins 30th bday! Went into town a few times. The staff told us what to expect, what to pay for the taxi, etc. Very very friendly. I would come back to this resort yearly!

Allegro Cozumel: Great resort

Recently we stayed at the Allegro Cozumel and thought it was a really nice resort. The food was good however more variety should be available at the buffet. We only had one bad incident there and that was a scorpion in our bathroom our second night there. We didn't see it until the early hours of the morning. My husband was able to kill it but I was a nervous wreck the rest of the trip. Our room was cleaned every day and an exceptional job was done. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Just what we needed this awful winter!

The resort was like a healing retreat for all who beaten senseless by mean Canadian winters. Big, beautiful buildings, open to the amazing jungle, monkeys and parrots as available to see as waiters with drinks. Staff was over the top kind and polite and happy (be sure to tip - embarrassingly some tourists think they should be waited on hand and foot - the gratitude for a 20 or 50 peso tip always brings good service and a happy relationship - just saying). Allegro Cozumel: Very good

We are 2 young 50+ adults and 2 athletic teens ages 16 and 13. We put our faith into travel agent who highly recommended this resort for the beach, safety, value, direct flights out of Toronto and activities to make our kids happy. Not without its hiccups, the positives truly outweighed the negatives. The kids could not get enough beach volleyball and it was fun watching guests of all ages play. A note of caution: If you have a tour representative, ensure you attend their introductory information session or you may end up stopping at the wrong desk and find yourself caught up in a high-pressured timeshare pitch. Those too-good-to-be true excursion discounts are exactly that. Still, overall a great trip.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing!!!

We stayed at this resort from March 14th to 21st, 2015. The resort is extremely beautiful and big. The rooms were beautiful and the food was great. I had read the reviews before I left and was a little worried. Needless to say, I think the people who were complaining must have been at a different place. Yes, there is lots of walking, but who wouldn't want to walk around such beautiful lush grounds. We stayed in building 19. We had monkeys on top of our balcony 3 our of the 7 days (a mother and h [... read more]er baby). We saw flamingos and a deer who was about two feet away from us, while walking down to the beach. We visited the ruins on site, which were great. We visited Xcaret park next door. We only did one day, which was enough to see everything we wanted to see. We also swam the underground caves at the park, which was a blast!! We went back in the evening for the show, which is a must see. The resort has a movie nightly and then afterwards at 9:30 a live show. Most of them were kind of cheesy but the Michael Jackson one was really good. We didn't eat at any of the al la carte restaurants, just the buffet restaurant, which was really good. They had different themes every night. There is a huge variety of food, so there is no excuse for not finding something you can eat. The staff was amazing. Although tipping is not required, we did tip and often. It surprised me how many people don't tip. These people work for peanuts and a few bucks shouldn't make or break you, but is huge for them. We tipped the maid daily and the pool bartenders who brought us drinks, as well as at the buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There is really nothing bad I can say about this resort. We had an amazing time. Oh, by the way, we were able to get FREE wifi in our hotel room, in the lobby and at the pool. Not sure what all the complaints were about the wifi because if we could do it, everybody should be able to do it. The "vacation club" people at our building tried for a good solid two days to get us to go to the "special breakfast" or to get "special gifts", but we declined, and then adamantly declined the second day, and then they didn't bother us. I would totally recommend this hotel for family or couples!!!

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Probably won't be back

Pros Pool area was never too crowded. Beach was nice to walk along. Service at the bars was generally pretty good. Cons When we checked in we were not given any water and there was none in our room. When we went back the next day we were given one bottle and that was it for the week. Our choices were to retain the bottle and replenish it at one of the bars/restaurant ot to buy other bottles at the store. No other beverages were supplied in our room. No towels or voucher provided at check in. We  [... read more]had to return the following day for a voucher. During the last three days of our stay no fresh towels were available. Only one room key was provided at check in. My wife developed many sand flea bites. They are very itchy and she continues to form new ones since returning to Canada. Food in the buffet restaurant was very basic without much choice. Fresh fruit and vegetables were very limited. We were told to be ready at 7:00 to go to the airport. Bus did not arrive until 7:40

Allegro Cozumel: Wonderful resort!

Amazing! Beautiful, clean, eco resort, rustic rooms in nature, amaxing staff! Loved the 3 pools for kids, relax and by the ocean. Beach was 5 stars! Went to swims with dolphins and took a gorgeous day at Chichen Itza pyramids.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Good Value and Pleasant Resort

I loved the experience here. The resort was older but well kept. The staff pleasant and very helpful for a woman travelling alone. As always the food was sufficient and much the same. But that is Cuba. The stand alone restauants were excellent and the staff helpful. I had the best tour of Havan with a tour guide arranged by the hotel. Thanks

everything was good about this hotel lots to do service was great, big place but there was a bus to take you down to the beach very friendly place I would definitely go back the timeshare people were not too bad they do not bother you too much

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: relaxing getaway resort

Generally good, right size (relatively small) with beautiful well kept grounds. Beach is long, great for walking, not so good for swimming, water was murky for the entire week we were there. Nightly entertainment varies in quality with not much available after 10:00pm. Room was good but lacks a balcony, mini bar is restocked daily with water, soft drinks and beer. Food was good in buffet and very good in a'la carte restaurants. All staff members encountered were friendly and helpful even the vac [... read more]ation club promoters who were always around. Lots of loungers available at both pool and beach but the best locations are gone early. Yes, the early risers do reserve their spots by 0800 but you can always find space later in the day. There is a reserved area on the beach for club members and they do get butler service, the rest fetch their own drinks from the nearby bar. Overall this is a lovely place for a quiet, restful getaway for families with young children and the more mature crowd not recommended for the party crowd.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: This resort is amazing!

Beautiful resort! The staff were amazing, the food was plentiful and delicious. We liked the idea that we didn't need to reserve for any of the 5 a la carts restaurants. Clean rooms and grounds. Loved all the wild life wandering around. The only negative thing is that you are approached a few times by staff that want to sell timeshares.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing Resort

This was our first all inclusive vacation and we were very confused on what resort to go to. We eventually picked Occidental had we are glad we did. No complaints at all. Food was great, just make sure you plan to be at dinner before 730 pm and you will have no problems eating at any of the fine dining places. All resturants were exceptional. Swim up bar and pool was fantastic, bartenders were entertaining and provided exceptional service. Rooms were large, clean and everything you need.
