Ok but not great

The beach and the live entertainment were excellent. However the food was sub par and the food was often not hot. Even the coffee in the dining room was poor. We went to Melia Cayo Coco as it was recommended by friends. Rather disappointing overall. Enjoyed Melia Cayo Guillermo more.

Lovely Resort

My husband and I are in our early 50s and this resort was a great place to just chill. No kids with harried parents or hawkers on the beach. Food was good and of variety, drinks were delicious and the people amazing. Go, you won’t regret it.

Fabulous vacation!!

The entire resort was always in tip top shape. Not a piece of trash to be found anywhere. The food was consistently great and the chefs worked diligently to make the custom orders to the vacationers liking. The staff in the buffet dining room were top notch. Love this resort

From the moment we arrived this resort was top, great food, clean rooms, beautiful grounds, hope to return real soon We have been to many resorts in Cuba and this was by far the best. The beach was very windy all week, but would be great on calm days. Staff are very friendly and although an older building the rooms are kept very clean.

What a beautiful trip!

This was our second trip to Melia Cayo Coco and we were not disappointed! I love the complete service that is found at the resort. It is clean, spacious, right on a white sand beach with a beautiful pool option as well. There are activities on the beach and around the pool all day if you want to be active or you can choose to just lounge. A number of restaurants providing great food and one 24 hour restaurant so it doesn't matter what time you arrive you can eat. The a la Carte restaurants  [... read more](3 choices) provide scrumptious food (you must book a reservation). The Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and supper with a wide variety of tasty foods. We will go back, actually many of the people we met there have returned year after year to this resort!

Terrific vacation over Christmas

Family vacation with our 21 yr old son and 19 yr old daughter. The resort was perfect! The resort is on the quiet side and was perfect for relaxing. Overall: The beach is spectacular and the staff is amazing - some of the nicest, friendliest people I've come across. The food was really good and there was a lot of variety. The a la cart restaurants were good too. On our last night we ate at the Mediterranean restaurant and for a small upcharge I ordered the lobster and it was well worth it. The Mediterranean restaurant was our favorite. We stayed in the older part of the resort and our bathroom was really dated. We only had warm, not hot, water most mornings (maybe the resort was at capacity?). That said, we always had hot water in late afternoon when we were getting ready to go out for the evening. Beds were comfortable. The location of our building was terrific! Right in between the beach and the pool and close to everything, so it was perfect for us. I would prefer to stay there again based on the location alone. There were a lot of activities to do throughout the day, but for the most part we just chilled at the beach or the pool. It was the perfect vacation for our family and we would go back there again.

A relaxing vacation

Meliá Cayo Coco is an excellent resort. When we arrived and checked into our room that smelled of smoke, it was immediately exchanged for a non-smoking room. Our toilet stopped flushing one night and was fixed first thing in the morning. Food was tasty and there was plenty of variety. For someone with gluten-free diet, I had no problems choosing from a variety of meats, eggs, rice, and vegetable dishes. The pool and beach were clean and ran a variety of daily activities which were well attended. Morning Yoga, a gym workout, and a massage were other activities I enjoyed. Water sports were available at the adjacent resort and a bus or bicycle tour could be arranged. The entertainment staff were attentive and well acquainted with the guests because many were repeat visits. Evenings included pre-show local talents at a breezy lobby bar. The shows were of decent quality and there was a disco available starting at 11:00pm. So much to do... I would definitely return to this resort.

Dancing in Cuba

We went to Cuba over the week of new years eve and had a great time. The food, service, and entertainment made for a wonderful trip. Relaxing or fun was possible there. There is a dance club above the guest services desk that is open nightly from11pm-2am I would recommend this resort.

We'll have to stay longer next time!

We returned to Melia Cayo Coco (w/ friends) for 9 days (Dec 18-27) and were wowed! Improvements all around! The food was excellent – tasty & fresh. Smaller portions greatly minimized the amount of food waste we have seen at other resorts. The quality of the food throughout was well above par. We enjoyed live music every night in the lobby bar. The musicianship was incredible. We relished the fact that these artists were not forced to compete with other entertainment but in fact preceded  [... read more]and complemented it. As for our clean room, we enjoyed a comfortable King-sized mattress & pillows, brand new a/c, hot water and fresh towels & sheets daily. Our request for more tv channels was addressed promptly and to our satisfaction. Also, a lighting issue we had taken note of was corrected before we even took a moment to call about it! We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at the International Restaurant and were delighted with the attention to detail that the friendly and caring staff showed us. The grounds were beautiful; the beach, expansive. To help preserve it all we bring Bubba Mugs for our drinks. We would definitely encourage others to bring reusable containers like these to help preserve this amazing space from being littered with disposable plastic cups and straws. We really love the adult-only aspect of MCC and the more mature, laid-back vibe that comes with that: it is not a party resort. All efforts by staff really show and are felt – it’s a special place we are SO grateful to enjoy!

Great resort

Nice room. Great pool. Good food selection at the buffet but limited at the à-la-carte restaurants. The food quality and service were good in all of them, especially the buffet. The weather was nice most of the time, with the exception of some rain and high winds (the reception roof leaked in a few spots). The beach was OK but just a few people got into the water. Sea weeds were all over the beach. In general, the experience was great, and the people were friendly and helpful.

Friendly and relaxing!

2nd time at this resort but so many others we met have been there many times. The staff are amazing! They enjoy what they do and you can easily see the friendships they have formed with repeat guests. The food is great, the rooms are clean, the beach is beautiful and the entertainment is very good!! Can’t wait to go back👍

Best resort in Cuba

Everything was just top notch, from the booking process with Tracey Weldon-Duffin who has always been so helpful to our flight home. It is a smaller hotel which we prefer. Food was excellent and way above Cuban standards. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. We phoned maintenance about a drip when we went to breakfast. Melia Cayo Coco - Si!

another beauty stay at the MCC (our 4th visit). the staff was very welcoming - several remembering us even though it had been 4 years since our last visit. luckily we had consistent great weather and enjoyed our walks on the beach and the grounds. Food was fine, especially the International. the Repetitive visitors dinner was a nice recognition event (lobster!) Appreciated our time there and certainly miss the sun, warmth and green.

Amazing getaway

Melia Cayo Coco is a beautiful resort. The grounds are always immaculately kept. The rooms have all the amenities you need, they are clean and well maintained through your stay. The buffet always has something for everyone The restaurants were incredible (I’m vegan) They made special meals for me on the nights I visited. The beach is spectacular, my favourite place. Melia Caya Coco, Cuba

Stayed for 1 week from Nov 17 to the 25th. The accommodations we had was the Grand Premium Lagoon View. The suite was clean and very nice with an incredible terrace and view of the sunrise from our room. It is well worth the upgrade because the view is spectacular, quiet and private compared to the rest of the accommodations. Nice to have English TV stations as well. A really beautiful beach with soft white sand and turquoise ocean which was warm. Lots of shade with palapas. Evening entertainment each night at the lobby bar was very enjoyable and entertainment overall I would rate at above average. The biggest let down was the food which was a bit disappointing. But this is to be expected for Cuba 4 star resorts compared to other islands. However, many people love the food and there is a very high repeat client business to this resort from Canada as I discovered in my discussions with other guests. Service was exceptional and the staff are genuine. Close to the airport and just over 3 hours flight from T.O. makes this a nice place for a quick getaway from the cold.

Wonderful hotel

Have been to this hotel before and enjoyed the activities they have added. Great medical staff onsite. Warm and friendly staff always willing to help. Good food selection. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic time

We have been to almost all 4+ resorts in Cuba and this one is up in the top 5. The building block that we requested was not ready when we arrived but we are seasoned travellers so we were prepared. The beach grill, and lobby bar coffee was the best. The pool area was a lot of fun. Overall we had a really great relaxing trip which is exactly what we were looking for.

Nice resort

The hotel was very nice and the grounds were lovely. Food was decent and there was a good variety available...probably the best I've had at a Cuban resort. We go for the beautiful beach and it certainly didn't disappoint. However, on the 3rd day of our vacation we were sitting on the beach and a bi-plane flew extremely close to the ground, right along the water. After the third pass we realized it was a crop duster and we were being sprayed! I completely understand that there are an abundance of [... read more] mosquitoes to be dealt with and pests are not good for tourism. But it's also not good to spray at noon when there are hundreds of tourists on the beach. This kind of thing should be done early in the morning. Also on our last day we noticed that no one was in the water. Unfortunately the storm from the previous night had stirred up some "chunks" of oil that stuck to your body and were almost impossible to remove. Otherwise it was a very relaxing vacation and if neither of those incidents had happened, it would have been perfect.

GREAT place for a quiet vacation

the beach is spectacular. Service, staff very courteous. I was looking for a quiet place, really remote and this was it. the only thing was the food was really not so great. It could have been better. the a-la-carte restaurants were really terrific so there's no reason for buffets to be so lackluster. otherwise great place. went solo and its very safe and comfortable.

Adults Only ~ Relaxing

This hotel was amazing, the staff goes over and above to assist with all matters. Because it’s so small they even address you by name and give you hand written notes in your room. The food only in the Buffett and seaside were good. The a la carted were not good by any means, small portions to over cooked food. The swimming pool was always clear. The live entertainment in the lobby was really calming. The disco upstairs was good when it was open. There were no bugs, lots of crabs. Overall the experience was really good.
